#it's just that third world countries can't kid themselves into thinking they have moral high ground because they know they don't have power

Was gonna live this one in the tags but said you know what nah, some of y'all need to hear this and I am sure my non-USA friend will agree with me on this one:
It is SO difficult sometimes to get people to understand that "Whiteness" is very much an American thing, and a lot of other countries do not share that concept.
And before people waffle-pancake me, no, I am not saying that other countries have zero racism (that happens everywhere) or that people in power in the western world aren't usually pale either (Because be real, "Being White" is not even actually having light skin, just like being any ethnicity is a very loose concept that carries a lot of weight in how you form your identity and how other people will perceive you.) It is simply the fact that racism is experienced differently in different parts of the world based on the history and culture in said place (just like ethnicity, nationality and identity is defined differently)
But this idea tends to be difficult to be met with no resistance from people (even leftists, I have been called some heinous shit for saying this to very "Woke" people) in the United states of America for the same reason I try not to call you all American and choose to say USA: Because you are not even the entirety of the american continent and yet you claim the title as your own, and you are so used to being a first world country, to exporting media constantly and rarely consuming media from other countries, to have your language be the default, to take over other countries politics, to be imperialist assholes, you don't even realize the rest of the world sees through your intent to be the voice and moral compass of the world. When you realize that Western society is not "America", but THE WEST, you will be a much better leftist.
There's a phenomenon in left-wing circles where initially reasonable statements and concepts get repeated ad nauseum until they not only lose their meaning but transform into deeply bigoted ideas.
The idea "there is no single white culture," is true because white is a concept created to describe the powerful position in Western societies. There are many different cultures, who's members are often white. But this idea became "white people have no culture" which is just not true, deeply dehumanizing, and harmful, especially to people who look white but experience marginalization because of their culture.
Another example might be cultural appropriation, which perhaps should be understood as a misrepresentation or exploitation of the cultural practices of another, especially where the person exploiting does so for personal gain, without acknowledgment. But now, people have basically transformed this into "when somebody does something from a culture they weren't raised in" or "when a particular race or ethnicity behaves in a way that's different from how they normally do" which promotes racial and cultural stereotypes and attempts to control the behaviors of people based on their race, ethnicity, and culture.
#I've been called racist for saying this#just like I have been called both a white bitch and a slur in the same day#I stand by my opinion having seen both sides#it's really easy to say you are tolerant when you don't have your ideas challenged#but every country likes to believe they are the protagonist#it's just that third world countries can't kid themselves into thinking they have moral high ground because they know they don't have power#you HAVE yo adapt to the wishes of first world countries because they literally decide if you live or die.
