Tfw there's a popular fic/fic writer in this fandom that everyone seems to love but you actually have a bit of genuine criticism with their writing/characterization and the trends they started by people copying their fan fiction, but you don't want to say it because fanfiction isn't supposed to be critiqued the way popular media is (no concrit unless asked for) so you're just sitting there thinking "I want to explain why I'm not a fan of this author's works but I don't want to actually post a critique because it would feel rude at best or make people start drama at worst."

#squiggposting #when you see a fic/author that people love so much and you're like...... it's aight #and they also do my favorite character kind of dirty #and started a trend where everyone else did this character dirty and also did a lot of other stuff i don't like #i guess it's just elevated fandom wank at that point lol #i just. i don't like a lot of popular trends in (this) fandom and the way they spread from particularly influential creators #and it's not about the creators being bad people or even being bad at their craft #it's just me saying that i hate how it exacerbated certain bad/inaccurate portrayals and trends and headcanons lol #but that's not something i'll ever talk about except in private w ppl i know don't start drama lol #TLDR: it's good but is it accurate to the source material? no and in the most aggravating of ways
