As a funfact for y'all, you know how Peso has a Latino accent in the US version of the show, right?

Turns out there's a part of Antarctica that belongs to Argentina and also another one that belongs to Chile, which are both countries that belong to South America and are considered Latino countries. And yup, i researched, there are penguins who live in both of them. Funny thing? These countries' native currencies are called "Peso". Argentine Peso and Chilean Peso, but they're both called Peso.

The creators actually researched and named Peso after the currency intentionally and i'm dying. 😭✨‼️

As a Latina, i already knew this, but i thought i might as well share this piece of information to y'all because YES. Might make an in-depth post abt this later btw, especifically about how the education system works in both of those countries and an approximate age of how old Peso would be (or is) if he graduated from his Medical School THERE.

I personally headcanon that Peso is from Chile, but that's just me being biased because The Octonauts' VA'S from the Latin Spanish dubs are Chilean lol- (I'm neither from Chile or Argentina but the fact that the VA'S are Chilean makes me headcanon that 😭) (Most of the VA'S from the Latin Spanish dub of The Octonauts also worked for the Latin Spanish dub of Avatar: The Last Airbender, just another lil' funfact).

Anyways, enough rambling, this whole thing was pretty interesting to investigate even though i knew most of it (but i managed to investigate in a more in-depth manner) ngl.

The new Amazing Digital Circus episode is probably the most painful so far

Despite other episodes having their own fair share of sad moments and those that felt rather painful like one with Gumigoo being popped or with Kinger. I think this one hit me the closest because of how it was written. And I think the best example of it was this moment

I feel like a lot of people probably can tell this feeling. And I must say this was handled very tastefully. It definitely felt respectful and it reminded me of times I had This happen to me. It's a place I've been, I don't want to return to and I know I will return to.

It's been lots of places like that. Like when I failed college. I kept failing my driving exam. I lost a job. My grandma lost more and more of her mind before she died. Seeing family members die. Always going somewhere away and letting those bursts in those small moments (sometimes I screamed so loud and hard I went blind for a moment) all the while you harbor that feeling of being worthless. Like you are dragging everyone down. Like your mere presence is like poison to others. Those are feelings I know. And it makes me feel really terrible for Gangle.

And that moment with the truck... it was also familiar.

That sudden moment of joy and happiness over something. Small feeling of freedom. Of fulfillment... and then you want to throw yourself under a car. That is also familiar. Because those small bursts of joy or happiness do not solve a problem. They are something you also let out and then you go back to feeling terrible. You cannot be free from this. Not really. Not like this.

I am still going through such issues. I want to go to psychologist. Maybe get some help for what is going on with me. But I feel a lot of pain from watching this episode because I felt every moment of it somewhere in the back of my mind.

But... those moments and that feeling. It doesn't last forever. It never does. I did get a job... before losing it again, but I keep trying. I and many other of my family are still here and I love them. I finally passed my driving exam. I went far in my new school. I do accomplish things. I do something good and worthwhile... At least I hope so. I still fail and I will keep failing, but I will keep doing something well... I hope.

Life is never steady like this. It never gives you such consistency. There is no blessing of that. Both good and bad times eventually end and change. Life always changes and best you can do is go with it's flow. The most important part is, is to not get stuck in a moment of when the life gets low because it will go back up. It's a path that will never stay one way forever. And that's okay. What's important is how you handle what life gives you.

Okay. This went a bit sad. But I have some funny trivia to share too!

In Polish dub. Gangle makes a reference to a very good Polish movie named "Dzień Świra" or "Day of the Mad Man" in English. A movie about unfulfilled poet who is very bitter and hates his life and everyone around him. It's a very fitting reference. It's a hilarious movie that spawned a lot of memes in Poland.

Also in Polish dub at the end Caine was about to say "Jestem Zajebisty" where "Zajebisty" is a curse word meaning "Fucking awesome" and he starts glitching in that moment. That was funnier than OG I must say. This is really one of those GREAT Polish Dubs. Also Gangle's VA in Polish Dub absolutely killed that scene I mentioned first in this post.

Hope this was an interesting read. A bit of personal one for me. This episode hurt, but it also gave me some level of comfort and I appreciate it a lot. It's definitely my favorite episode so far and I hope Gangle will get better. As I hope I will too. Also Jax suffering brings me life.

glad to see that ppl are aware that nimbus doesn't deserve the hate they get bc it stems from them being nonbinary! but i also see them be compared to cayde a lot, which i understand. but ppl are like "they're basically another cayde" and idk how i feel about that. it seems weird and ignorant to sideline them as cayde but nonbinary when nimbus is more than that despite our lack of interactions + lore w/ them. ppl already had a hard time comprehending how they processed their grief through humor and their recklessness in the deterministic chaos mission so it's no surprise they just view them as a cayde comparison :/ sorry, i could be overthinking things i'm not sure. what do you think?

I feel similarly, it feels a bit reductive to just boil them down to another Cayde, though I understand the comparison. People mostly say it because a lot of the hate for Nimbus is the, genuinely, fake outrage over a character being a little silly and humorous at odd times which is strange because everybody loved Cayde who acted the same. And imo, with fewer good reasons for it as well; although both Cayde and Nimbus hide behind a persona to mask their feelings, I feel like Cayde, one of the Vanguard leaders with hundreds of years of experience under his belt should be a little less silly than a rookie Cloud Strider who's never had anything happen to them in their short life until the start of the expansion.

They're both different characters, but share some similarities in how they're perceived so I understand the comparison especially when people ONLY hate Nimbus for "making jokes." And you have to ask "If you dislike characters making jokes, how can you like Cayde then?" It's always people's first association when someone complains about a character making jokes. I don't think people often think of them as just copies of each other, it's just a natural comparison to draw when people pretend to be bothered by jokes.

I also feel like both of these characters have jokes that are a product of their time; this isn't unusual of course, but people tend to look down on anything new. Naturally, the jokes from MY youth were good and funny, the jokes the kids have these days are cringe and bad. That's essentially it.

I like both of them for their own reasons and I enjoy both of their humour styles. Also, a lot of people thought Cayde's behaviour in vanilla D2 was super cringe btw, I remember people being fairly annoyed that he was "cracking jokes" in the middle of one of the, arguably, worst situations the setting has ever been in (Red War, loss of Light). A lot of people don't remember that, but people did NOT like Cayde's silliness. I understand why, but I never really had an issue with it; it was just a relief from all the gloom otherwise. I think it makes sense to add a little bit of silly, and I think the same applies to Nimbus.

This is why people tend to compare the two! And then you look at all of that and you wonder why Nimbus is the one getting the hate and in most cases it boils down to transphobia. Not always, people can dislike the character for other reasons; but in a LOT of cases, online especially, it's just that. It's evident from the misgendering and the type of hate being hurled around which went as far as insulting the devs and the VA (who is nonbinary and spoke publicly about finding it hard to find work because of their identity). Again, people can dislike Nimbus for other reasons too, but it's really hard to divorce the overwhelming hate for Nimbus from their identity and the state of the gaming community currently.

Little Brother Appreciation Day <3

If I'm being honest this was kind of an 'unnecessary' event as they didn't need a thank you from Lucifer for being nice to him lol. Cute though.

Basically Lucifer after seeing how much thought his brothers put into planning something special for him (takes place after "Lucifer Appreciation Day" btw) he decides to do something for them as well. He gives them each a gift and leaves the house for a few days. We get half a day with each brother to do their gift/activity.

Mammon - Casino (winning + handholding)

In the bottom route Mammon comes up with the idea to have a food festival with Devildom only foods. However, he also tries to sneak off with some veggies to sell while we are cooking. I put him on garnish duty after that to keep him busy lol.

I must confess something, I do not understand white Vox lol is it just his VA? He may be just a TV with a body but his eyes seem to be drawn as east asian and thats his most prominent human feature. Majority of the time I see people draw him as a human they actually erase his real eye shape to (I assume) make him look more white. There's no real canon so people can hc whatever but I am so intrigued by how people are interpreting him white. I promise there are nasty tech/media ceos that overwork their employees all over the world... maybe im reading too much into it because the show is otherwise verrrry western-centric. Just curious how you view it, you're definitely in the majority and i realize people like me are the outliers but just saw your post and had to ask (if you didnt mind sharing).

Anon ur hella polite and ik u got good intentions so I was stressing a little over how to respond without invalidating ur headcanon cuz like, I never want to be the guy saying “this character is white and u can’t headcanon them as a racial minority” cuz that’s pretty shitty no matter what. We definitely have different takes but when I’m explaining my interpretation I don’t wanna sound like I’m trying to boss ppl around and say there’s only one way u can see these characters. This is just my personal interpretation and I was being funny in my og post implying that my interpretation is the “correct” way. But since u asked I’ll explain my reasoning why I (and prob other ppl) see Vox as extremely white lol.

I don’t take Vox’s physical appearance into account at all when thinking about his ethnicity cuz in a show were everyone is pretty racially ambiguous design wise Vox is one of the most ambiguously humanoid characters, like my guy literally has a tv for a head with eyes and a mouth, and that’s it. I don’t see ur point about his eyes at all tbh, to me Vox’s vaguely slanted eyes have always come off more like a devious squint than an ethnic feature. Even still I don’t read slanted eyes as Asian automatically so it never occurred to me.

I don’t read as Vox as white bcus of his VA being white or him being a tech bro billionaire (but ig they play a part). I read Vox as white mostly bcus I see his background as a former religious extremist/cult leader from the 50s with a skill in life and in death for male manipulating ppl and using them for his own gain as very white and western. (I got this info from his official reference sheet for auditioning va’s, here that is)

His capitalistic ideals and business practices r meant to mirror (extremely white) billionaires like Musk and Bezos, which adds to my perception of him. Of course being a billionaire tech guy is not a western white man exclusive thing, but I feel that if we were meant to perceive Vox as someone not from America that would definitely be coded or in some way communicated. And I say this with as little ill will as possible, but for me I wouldn’t want to perceive Vox as an East Asian tech bro billionaire specifically bcus there r negative stereotypes and connotations attached there. East Asian men have a history of being negatively stereotyped as corrupt tech business owners. I don’t think u are trying to imply those stereotypes with ur head canon (frankly it’s hard to avoid negative stereotypes in fiction a lot of the time bcus stereotypes encompass such a vast range of things that its hard to take them all into account). But regardless, it’s smth we should try to be conscious of.

Anyways, I also usually take these character’s personalities and values, self image, etc into account when im thinking about race, bcus race is more then color, and especially for characters with lives and personalities based in much less tolerant time periods, it’s significant to consider how race would play a role in forming the way they navigate the world. Based on how Vox behaves I can’t see him as being racially marginalized. I’m gonna compare Vox to alastor a little cuz alastor is canonically creole and I think he serves as a good reference for someone I perceive as not white in comparison to Vox and how I think he differs and contradicts the experiences of a racial minority.

Vox to me comes off as someone who thinks he is entitled to power, respect, privilege, etc, which is a very standard type of attitude for a white man who was alive in the 1950s to have. He’s very emotionally immature and volatile, doesn’t seem to concern much over his public image beyond petty dick measuring contests with alastor (he regularly publicly has angry tantrums and doesn’t break a sweat over how this will affect his status). He obviously cares about it (scolding Valentino for embarrassing him and such) but he doesn’t seem to worry about loss of reputation in any sort of real way. I get the impression that Vox has always had at least a standard amount of social standing and privilege and can’t see a life for himself without the fundamental privilege he feels owed there to support him. He’s basically a man baby, a man baby who still manages to garner power and respect effortlessly (it comes naturally to him) while remaining whiny and insecure. Very white man of him! White man behavior!

in comparison, Alastor, (who I do not read as white) is always frantically clinging to his composed self image and his power as if it will slip away from him if he loosens his grasp at all. He has an extremely firm grip on his composure to the point where he never allows anyone to see him slip at all, let alone frown (despite his mental health and emotional well being being equally fragile as Vox’s). Alastor understands deeply how little the world owes him and how difficult and unreliable his acquiring of status actually is. He is borderline neurotic about retaining his power and staying on top. Despite the smile, Alastor is always defensive and fearful, picking fights with anyone he thinks might be a threat like a small dog or a prey animal would. Meanwhile, Vox conducts himself like a man with nothing to loose. I feel like Vox grew up with money and doesn’t know poverty or a lack of privilege in any intimate way that would drive him to guard it in anyway beyond flippant. To Vox power, status, and privilege are inherent. Same can’t be said for alastor.

tldr in conclusion Vox’s brand of bad feels very specific to a white man, alongside his emotional immaturity and his attitude, mindset, and behavior. This is why I see him as white asf, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong or it’s in anyway less correct to headcanon him as a different race. That’s just how I see him. I'm from Vietnam and Vietnam TV back in the 2000s are filled with these funny historical comedy series or just historical dramas, I actually saw a few as a child (Which includes Journey to the West which was already broadcast since my mother's time, also some other classic series that I'm not sure what are their English/Chinese names)

I saw the Vietnamese dub so much, I forgot their original language is Chinese and Vietnamese dubs can range in the Provincial accents, which is very diverse since Vietnamese accents going from the North to the South have many variations and some are considered the "common tongue" that most understand, it also thanks to the voice actors' ability and their vocal ranges, some are super impressive cuz you can feel the expression and emotions of the portrayed characters, unlike emotionless voicing that those dubbing machines make, which can affect the general moods

I heard before Stephen Chow sent a thank you letter to his Vietnamese VA who voiced him in his movies broadcast in Vietnam because he can exactly see HIMSELF speaking Vietnamese through that guy and he believed that's how he sounds like if he speaks Vietnamese cuz the VA was that good, which is fair cuz I actually thought Stephen Chow was speaking Vietnamese too and then I remember it was a Vietnamese person who does the voice, also it's pretty nice he watched his movies in other language dubs (Btw Hong Kong movies dub in my country also have their own distinct accents cuz they were making as though the Hong Kong people speaking Vietnamese, which is impressive in some ways)

Accents are fun 😊 despite how sometimes there are accents that do speak the same language as me, but the sounds are just off and they sound like foreigners even, it's called ✨Diversity✨

Normally I don't share a lot of serious posts for characters I love (they're funny shitposts most of the time) but because the 2024 PreCure Twitter Hall of Fame started running yesterday (go vote here if you haven't), I have already campaigned myself for the title of #1 Cure Melody fan, which I already won during the first Hall of Fame back in October 2023 (and also campaigned for). And I have the certificate below to prove it lol

As part of my mini-campaign for the current Hall of Fame (which is just for fun and not an actual competition btw), I decided to write an essay about how much Cure Melody meant to me and wanted to share it here (copied and pasted straight from the Notes app on my phone). Why you should vote me for #1 Cure Melody fan, an essay (sorta)

During the summer of 2020, I started getting into PreCure when Healin' Good returned from its hiatus and was added to Crunchyroll. After watching a few more of their available seasons like Futari wa and Kira Kira, I decided to branch out and try out other (unfortunately not legally available yet) PreCure seasons, and I started both Star Twinkle and Suite on September 1, 2020. You might be wondering, "why mention an exact date for Suite specifically?" And boy, do I have a lot to tell you.

Suite was one of the seasons that caught my eye at that time, and Hibiki Hojo, otherwise known as Cure Melody, caught my attention for plenty of reasons. One of which being me previously knowing her VA, Ami Koshimizu, for voicing Sailor Jupiter (my favorite Inner Senshi) in Sailor Moon Crystal, given that I was (and still am) a huge Sailor Moon fan. Another reason was also me branching out to other magical girl media during the pandemic. I was already familiar with shows like Powerpuff Girls Z (my first magical girl show) and Madoka Magica up until 2020, and decided to try out PreCure for a bit despite my initial skepticism and refusal to try anything new.

On September 1, 2020, around the same time I was starting my last year of high school, I finally started watching Suite and while I knew Hibiki was going to be my favorite in the show I didn't expect myself to love her way more than I thought I would, not even knowing she would actually become one of my favorite characters of all time. She's a lot of fun every time she appears onscreen, her design rocks, and also did connect with me a lot on a personal level. As someone who has experienced separation anxiety as a kid (and still sometimes do now), I related with Hibiki's loneliness from when her mom was often busy on tour, much like how my parents would sometimes spend a lot of time away from home for work, from weeks to even months. To add to that, I even felt burdened by others' expectations of how and what I did as I got older, similar to how Hibiki felt pressured when she had to perform at the piano recital only to end up feeling hurt by her dad's words to the point where she (temporarily) gave up her passion for music. Through her character growth, I remembered two important things: people who love and support you will always be there for you no matter what and never give up on what you want to pursue despite the hurdles you encounter in life that try to put you down or even turn you against your passions.

I literally almost teared a bit having to write all this and if you made it to the end, thank you for reading :') And of course, vote me for #1 Cure Melody fan since she has meant a lot to me for almost 4 years now 💗

Since I made a post talking abt the airing anime I was watching might as well make a post now that I've finished them.

Studio Apartment, Good Lighting, Angel Included: 6/10 (fine)

I'm adding my MAL scores just for funsies. Add me on MAL btw @ patsquidbob raughh!!! I still do not like Shintaro but he got somewhat manageable.... At times... The show still would've benefited from him not being there at all though. Lilishka was the best thing about this series no doubt and Noel was surprisingly good as well, I didn't expect her to be one of my faves. I like monster girls, I like harems. This one is just fine, not enough of the girls interacting without Shintaro which is really it's biggest demerit. Oh but Lilishka and Hisui are so girlfriends to me, they're in love and I won't take anything else as an answer. Oh and I wish Shiu appeared more so she could yell at Shintaro more.

Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again: 9/10 (great)

This was more of a casual watch so I wasn't deathly invested but I had fun watching it.... That ending though.... Oughhh aughhh I could tell it was coming as the episode played but it still got me BAD. I was sobbing my eyes out and that's why it is a 9/10. The character interactions and the general slice of life plot was nice though, it was a cute anime and I think it did what it set out to do.

Astro Note: 10/10 (masterpiece)

This is my anime ranking and I get to call whatever I like 10/10. It's funny cus I did like the show at first but I didn't think it was all that until the final few episodes... I just really liked Aoi and Naosuke's relationship that happened near the end. But Terurun was still a highlight and I like the subplot with Ren, fun fact he shares a VA with Aguri hehe. The romance with Mira and Takumi is fine, but could've benefited from having the relationship happen earlier idk. But it's fine for what it is. I like the art and the characters and the music and I love Aoi and it's just a silly anime. I can't deny a silly anime that just wants to have fun.

A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics: 10/10 (masterpiece)

If it wasn't already obvious, this was my favourite anime of the season, it was just a silly comedy reverse isekai with cute girls. It appealed exactly to me what more do you want me to say. The comedy is great and the characters are all so fun and wacky, Livia gets involved in a cult and ends up with two girlfriends one being a literal cult leader who worships her what isn't there to like. The father daughter dynamic was cute too and I liked seeing Sara and Livia start their new lives in a normal world. I wish it would get a season 2 merely just to meet the girl in the wheelchair, I want to know her deal. Sara was great but if it wasn't already obvious I heavily enjoyed Livia's side plot since she's such a funny character. And Priketsu and Noa are great accomplices to her shenanigans.

Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night: 7/10 (good)

It started off strong but it kind of lost me halfway through... Sorry... I still enjoyed it but much like WEP the beginning vibes were so strong that the following story struggled to follow up. But, I still enjoyed it for what it was. I LOOOVE Mei as well as Baba, they were my faves in this show and I enjoyed Kiui too. Considering how Kano kissed Mahiru on the cheek I thought maybe they'd expand on their relationship but, it's fine I guess. Mei is my silly autism creature and I adore her and I'm glad this show gave me her at the very least. There were also two Pipeline Punch cameos so shout out to that #awesomesauce.

Train to the End of the World: 7/10 (good)

I didn't have that strong of feelings towards this show at the start and my feelings kind of stayed the same all the way through. It was a fun show but wasn't all to investing for me personally. But I liked the multiple cities they visited and the stakes, even if they got less serious later on. The mushroom episode is definitely the best one sorry not sorry. I like Reimi because she's the gal of the group but I also quite like Kuroki. Oh and that one suicidal magical girl her design was awesome. The ending was okay but not really anything amazing. It's a good show to watch for fun! Oh and I also liked that one scientist girl she was fine ASF.

Blue Archive the Animation: 8/10 (very good)

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. I say that because I didn't know anything about the source going in nor was it really my show (I don't watch much action) but I really liked it. The characters are all fun, even if some weren't really focused on (rip Ayane) and the fight scenes were really cool. Problem Solver 68 were definitely the highlight, Aru was such a cringefail loser it was hard not to enjoy her screentime. Haruka is extremely cute as well. I also really liked Hoshino and her plotline, it was nice that the second half focused on her because I liked her a lot as a character. The bond she had with Shiroko and the rest of her friends was great!! Kind of makes me want to check out the game but I don't think I have the energy or investment LOL. Uhhh Sensei sucked toes that was wild. More like freaky Sensei.

Mysterious Disappearances: 9/10 (great)

I'm undecided on whether I should give it a 10 or not but I'll keep it on 9 for now. For a show that I didn't really intend to keep up with since I downloaded it on a whim.... I ended up really liking it LMAO. Okay in my defence Oto is adorable and was the best part of this show, I love Oto so much she's the main reason I kept going. But I also found the mysteries fun and the story was engaging, it was cool to see what was going to happen next. Sumireko is a fun lead and I liked all the side characters. There are some flaws BUT it was really good and I liked what we got to see. Nodoka's little side plot with Yorumun was fun too, I really like when we focus on side characters!

The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio: 7/10 (good)

If a show has a gyaru in it I will check it out just for them. Yasumi's design is what drew me in and I enjoyed it for the most part. I wouldn't say it's the most amazing thing and that I was engaged with the story the whole way through, but the art is cute and the characters are nice. Yasumi and Yuuhi's relationship is the forefront so obviously it's the best thing, I didn't like Yuuhi at first but I came around to her. Their bickering is fun and I love their love hate relationship. I just didn't care much for the industry stuff I guess, but it was a fine watch.

Himitsu no AiPri (no rating yet)

AiPri is still airing so it's not been rated yet, I tend to wait til a show ends to rate it unless I feel super strongly about it. I'm still keeping up with it and enjoying it! I do have to say that there isn't really anything that makes it unique or stand out. Especially compared to its competitor precure more specifically Wanpre which I adore so far already. Then again we're only about 12 episodes in compared to Wanpre's 22 episodes. The characters are cute, Himari and Mitsuki's friendship is cute and it was fun seeing Tsumugi and Mitsuki become friends too. Chii is really fun and I want her to get more screentime, alongside Airi and Rinrin because they're some of my faves. I <3 Rinrin so much she's my favourite character so far. I'm still not entirely sure what AiPri even is or why it exists but, it seems the next episode will be a big one for the plot. Which, there isn't really one but I don't really mind too much, I just hope it does pick up at some point.

Girls Band Cry: I need to watch the last episode SORRY! I'll get to that tomorrow but I think it's pretty good! It's not my favourite and I'll be honest during the beginning I didn't really think much of it but that episode where Nina reconnects with her family got me crying and it really made me appreciate the show a little more. I like Subaru and Tomo, Rupa is cute too but she didn't get much focus. I think I'd probably rate it an 8 once I do finish it.

Whisper Me a Love Song: I didn't continue it sorry..... I already had a lot on my plate and the story didn't really interest me enough to keep going. Maybe I'll continue it in the distant future but I do not count on it. But hey, only one dropped anime this season that's better than last month I dropped quite a few.

Now as we enter a new month we'll see what this season has to bring... Can't say I'll be able to keep up that well due to Art Fight but since I won't be focusing on just drawing this year I'll probs have some time to watch it. I'm looking forward to that deer anime, you know, the funny one. Other than that I don't really have anything else on the agenda aside from whatever has cute girls or peaks my interest when it shows up on my anime site. I think this season was pretty decent though at least I was able to watch a lot. I'm close to my goal of reaching 150 anime this year >:3c

Favorite thing about them: Her looks. I know this sounds very superficial, to just focus on her physique, but I really like her design.

Something good that Kishimoto did is character design and I especially LOVE the design of his female characters, I can't choose a favorite.

Ino barely interacted with Sasuke during the whole series, I understand that she had a crush on him when she was 12 but it's been 4 years since then and her reaction is to cry? Really? That reaction is more appropriate for Sakura and/or Naruto because they were on his team, they interacted with him almost daily, they were friends.

Ino and Sasuke didn't even speak to each other in fillers! I completely understand that his reaction wasn't indifferent, after all discovering that your classmate from when you were a child, that boy who was the best in the class, who was cute and his skills were quite impressive, the one who graduated with honors, the one you had a crush on is now officially a criminal and must be killed if seen. That really must be something.

But crying?

Favorite line: Tbh I don't remember much about what she says, but 2 of her lines that I like is that time when they show us in a flashback how she became friends with Sakura telling so bluntly her that they bully her because she has a big forehead.

Lmaooo It was so funny, but I really like how she turned something Sakura was insecure about (her forehead) into something she should show and not care what others thought about it. That was very sweet.

Another line I really like is that time after their chunin exam fight when Ino told Sakura that she had blossomed into a beautiful flower.

Some notes on my Legends of Metru Nui rewatch I did half-asleep

I watched the finnish dub so first voice impressions. The voice direction was good but the dialogue translation wasn’t always the best (more on that later) Lhikans, Mataus, Nujus and Dumes voices were much better/more fitting than the english ones, with Lhikan probably having my favorite voice in the entire movie (Matau close second btw). Makuta and Vakamas were sliightly better in finnish than in english but the english ones were really good as well so I’m not sure. Whenuas was on par with his english one, but still great. Nidhikis voice was quite good but I go back and forth whether or not I prefer it over his english one (I THINK I do but he suffered the most of the translation issues, more on that later) . On paper I prefer Krekkas finnish voice BY A LONGSHOT but the way his voice was directed was really strange and uneven so left a bit sour taste in my mouth. I didn’t really like Nokamas that much for some reason (tho its funny that her VA voiced Jessie from Pokemon in the first few seasons here). She and Onewa were the only ones where I can say for certain I prefer their voices in english by a mile

Also fun fact: In the finnish dub Whenua and Makuta share voice actors, ditto with Nidhiki and Nuju (Lhikans VA also voiced Sidorak in Web Of Shadows)

Now for the movie itself: I love the story it wants to tell of six heroes raising to the odds against them in a deceptively dystopian society and find the heroism in them in absence of a hero. I also do think its a decent kids movie but I do feel the movie suffers from tonal inconsistency as well as some pacing issues (kinda)

Out of all the movies I feel LOMN is the one thats the most “THIS IS A PART OF A LARGER STORY” for me. While the stuff thats only in the books isn’t mandatory (and I think it was right move to cut it) the movie feels like it happened in a day which honestly REALLY makes suspension of disbelief hard for me (I mean this is a scifi/fantasy story with a robot cast but I digress.)

While the movie has a decent “flow” a lot of time it suffers from like...feeling a bit rushed. There isn’t always time to breathe. THIS ESPECIALLY is true with characters. Like I get a big part of thismovie is Vakamas character arc but with how many othe r characters we have to juggle the movie kinda, pushes him aside when the other toas learn their powers and then “WAIT HE GOTTADO STUFF TOO” at the climax

The main issue for me is by far the tonal issues.The movie tries to be both a fun action movie and a darker more somber tale but just... It doesn’t always really do the darkness well.  Sometimes the scenes just are too silly and the dialgoue too direct and/or wooden for it to work as it was intended.

This is where I bring up the finnish translation. Like while it is faithful some parts were translated in a really silly way that made it hard for me to take the movie serious. Like for instance, during the “Lhikan gets attacked by the Dark Hunters at furnace” when Nidhiki holds Vakama hostage to get Lhikan surrender he says “hi there brother” instead of just “brotherrrr” like in the original version that just made me cringe out of second hand embarassment. The movie has a lot of a bit silly stuff like this. Could be because of my language but still.

Speaking of action??? Is it weird that for an action movie Bionicle has very little fighting. Like sure there is some but a lot of time the characters just, dodge each others attacks. There’s also the fact no one uses weapons instead launching energy weapons around. I wonder if this was mandated by LEGO, considering MOL did something similar (Kohlii match of death anyone?)

AThat being said I still do like the movie: I still think the characters are great and are among the better casts in Bionicle, even if they don’t always utilize them well. The score is still great and there are a few good if not great parts there

Also rewatching this movie made me realzie how much I love Matau: hes a joy and by far my favorite Metru. Just such a great fun being of chaos I love him so much

If I wasn’t so in love with best boy Lhikan and a certain traitor spider I would just say “Matau best character” but GUYS DEF in my top 5 toa now. as well as top 10/15 overall faves haha

But ye had a good time, just wish it was a miniseries instead of a movie so it wouldve had time to breathe and not rush the story in 1h 15 mins. Would’ve helped the story a lot tbh

Tales of Crestoria Part 3 - Growing from Mistakes (Ch 3-5)

Anyway, about time Kanata and Misella got captured by Aegis and Leon? Haha. As for Aegis' close relationship with Queen Rebecca? Nope, that's just spelling disaster man. Aegis is probably as naive as Kanata if he thinks that this is okay, because even if he knows so, people don't, and it doesn't help that the Queen personally visits him a lot. He's pretty silly and innocent to think that him being her confidant is okay when she's supposed to have the king and many other people to rely on. It definitely doesn't help that she does all this so publicly. Btw, since we haven't seen Leon much, and this was probably the first time I heard him talk so much, I finally confirmed that his VA is definitely Midorikawa Hikaru! Tamahome (Fushigi Yuugi) brings back all my memories! I also loved him as Yoshino Yuusuke (Clannad), yes, he is one of my favourite VAs too, so I'm glad I have his SSR! Anyway, I'm not sure why he's so adamant on capturing Vicious since it doesn't seem like a justice thing like it is for Aegis but I do appreciate how kind Leon is to be concerned over Aegis and want to watch out for him.

 LMAO at the prisoners feeling like they're being disrespected because Kanata and Misella kept talking and ignoring them, and then when they do talk to them, Kanata says nice to meet you like they're at a party or something hahahah. Nice to see that Rebecca isn't just a damsel in distress and actually has been actively finding a way to escape from the kingdom. Not surprised though, she's young, kind and beautiful, whereas the king is so old and definitely evil lol. I feel sorry for her that she got dragged into becoming queen just because the king loved her beauty. Like dang though, she was a rural farm girl and he was able to find her? That would suck. Or I wonder if he goes around looking for beautiful women lol. Okay, he does lol, he even finds beautiful men, eugh. It's nice to know that Rebecca was once pretty naive though and thought that everything would be like a dream come true since the king proposed to her, and it was only after she married him that she realised how crappy her life could become. To be fair though, at least she's still in his good favours as a queen and didn't get demoted into servant or something after he finished playing with her. I guess her maintaining her beauty helped lol. I feel sorry for Rebecca, I really wanted her to live even if she was kinda delusional and hopeful that Aegis loved her. Kinda silly how the king could appear so suddenly in the sewers though, like how did he catch up to them so fast and how did they not notice lol. Anyway, I feel sorry for Aegis the most. He didn't even kill anyone but he's been framed for trying to elope with Rebecca and then killing her when she became a liability. At least for Kanata, he really did kill his father. In this case, Aegis is completely innocent. He's such a kind and righteous soul that wanted the best for his kingdom too. It's so saddening. Leon to the rescue! I'm happy that Leon prioritises Aegis over disgust at having to ally with Vicious since he seems to hold a grudge against him or something. It seems like Leon is really strong! Ooh, Yuna saves the day with her boat? Good to know she's the informant that Vicious frequently deals with. Her manner of speaking is interesting yet annoying though lol. Anyway, kinda cool that this Ivis person was able to create the Nation of Sin whilst forming a barrier that protects it from the outside world, and even preventing people without the Stain of Guilt from being able to enter the place or even see it. It seems like they really wanted to create a safe haven for all these people. It's funny that Vicious calls it a boring place, but I guess it's understandable lol, in any case though, I'm not surprised it's a boring and peaceful place. With all the chaos that comes with being a transgressor, what makes Vicious think they'd be crazy here? Lol. I mean, if they were, I'm sure they'd get kicked out lol.

Lmao, even though Aegis is getting kinda annoying with the transgressor this and transgressor that (his situation is understandable though, so I don't really blame him), I love how Kanata just drags him along, and Vicious just wants Aegis to remember that he is a transgressor now too lol. It was heartbreaking when Aegis finally kinda opened up and talked about how his parents were poor but did their best to fulfill his dream of becoming a knight, so in order to repay them, he worked hard to become a righteous knight, yet that all backfired on him when he lost everything and he's even being helped by the people he stubbornly believed to be the worst and has even become one of them, it's just pretty depressing. It was nice to see that the warmth of the transgressors' stew really got to Aegis. I'm happy to see Aegis fight for these defenceless transgressors that are getting massacred by the little girl (who is the culmination of the thoughts of condemnation etc) and her army of enforcers. I'm kinda surprised all the transgressors died though, like, did no one think it was possible that they might get attacked one day and prepared for that? I doubt not having a blood sin is an excuse too, since Aegis fended at least some of them off without it. Oh well, at least the little furry creature survived hahaha. Maybe we'll get an SSR version of the furry thing one day if it evolves into something strong🤣 I guess it's good that they've resolved themselves to fight against the world and the vision orbs instead of just hiding away now though. Lmao at Misella naming the little creature after meat, I guess Meakyu is a kindaaaa cute name.

Omggg it's Luke!! I love him. He's so spoiled and whiny, but it's hilarious. Lmaooo when Luke said Misella should sell her dress so that they would have money to hire a carriage and Kanata said if they sell it, she'd be naked and that would be awesome LOL. Priorities, Kanata. Omgg, I didn't expect them to have Luke once again make an irrevocable mistake that would cause innocent people and their town to be destroyed... But, like Vicious said, the biggest problem lies with the Senegal guy who knew what kind of guy Luke was and lied to him that the "monster" needed to be defeated when it was actually keeping the mountain intact and safe with its' mana. Wow, Senegal is so ruthlessly cruel... I can't believe he even killed the Southvein people who were able to evacuate from the landslide and survive. Not too surprising since they interfered with his mining but still crazy. Even more crazy that his fabricated lie is that he had no choice but to decimate the town because he sent Luke as a peace envoy and Luke ended up killing one of the residents in self defence (due to their hatred of Northmine people), like excuse you?? Is no one going to investigate the landslide and other stuff? Or are they so powerful that they can block people from going there? Btw, so nice to see Jade!! I guess the reason why Misella has been thinking that Kanata isn't really "Kanata-like" is because instead of advocating for his sort of belief in justice, he is now instead taking things into his own hands to punish others that he thinks "deserves" it. Not saying he's wrong since people like Senegal probably do deserve it, but in a sense, it just kinda becomes the idea that instead of the vision orbs doing the condemnations, now Kanata is doing them, and really, is this how justice is supposed to be, and really, can they save the world like this? Since really, because of their belief in their own views, they ended up killing the guardian spirit of the mountain to save Luke, like yeah, they had "no choice", but was it really like that, or did they just not think of other methods to prevent stuff like this from happening? Have they kinda become used to the idea that they should just solve everything with the violence and condemnation that they were dealt with?

I'm kinda happy to see that everyone is helping out Luke in wanting him to find his own path after the sins he committed, causing so many deaths even if he didn't intend it. Aegis is right, Luke's higher position makes him even more responsible for his lack of knowledge and his naivety, so it would be nice for him to face his sins and grow as a person. Well, I guess rather than it being something nice, he really needs to grow up and understand that his decisions can really change lives. But, I think that with Jade and Asbel there to guide him, he'll be good as long as he tries. Lmao at their great idea of earning money, I'm not sure if Kanata, Misella and Aegis could win prize money as a theatre troupe lol. It's funny how Misella thought Aegis wanted her spot as the heroine when they haven't even decided on what to do lol. Penelope must be dying from how bad Kanata and them are loll, although she does seem to be literally dying too. Anyway, nice to see that Yuna vows to not use her vision orb and instead tries her best to uncover all the facts and the whole story (as the journalist she is) with all the evidence she can gather to piece everything together rather than relying on a vision orb to do things when it only shows one side of things. 

On the other hand, it's nice to see that Kanata and them have realised the existence of the crazy researcher Malcolm experimenting placing human souls in monsters and the other way around. It seems that he was the one who made Emil share his body with Ratatosk now. I guess Kanata will definitely meet up with Cress again one day then (since Cress is adventuring with Mint, Emil/Ratatosk and Marta to prevent people like Cress' master and Emil's situation from happening again). Forgot to mention, but it was really cool seeing Lloyd and Colette! Well, it was kinda obvious that Penelope was dying, but it was nice to know that the reason Yuna is deterred from using her vision orb is kinda similar to Farah. Yuna used it on Penelope's mother to show her physically abusing Penelope as a child when she made mistakes in training to be the best actress, and although it's definitely terrible to allow something like that to go on, it's also true that Yuna hurt Penelope a lot by using the vision orb on her mother and having her condemned to death. As she said, there were definitely other ways to handle the situation, but because everyone from the moment they are born have been ingrained with the idea of the vision orb, everyone decides to solve their problems by using it instead of thinking about other ways. They probably think it's a hassle to deal with problems any other way when you can so easily record it and have other people help make the judgement on what to do instead of thinking for yourself on what other things you can do to rectify the situation. But yeah, I'm sure Penelope doesn't really blame Yuna, since really, her mum was abusive and Yuna wanted to protect her.

Omgg their pirate costumes are so cuteee! Especially Misella's! Love it! Meakyu's is pretty hilarious lolll. It was a pretty cool idea to pretend the pirate raid was actually their stage play that was a part of the festival. It wouldn't have been cool if the pirates were actually stronger than them though hahaha, but all's well ends well. It's pretty silly but funny how Vicious was the one who lured them all here to chase some made up treasure just because he wanted to steal a ship from the pirates lolll. He's so drastic, I love it. Awww, Patty and Chat are so cute~ I love how the townspeople dragged them away to treat them to food for their "good show" against the pirates haha. Honestly, I know Yuna meant well and everything by telling people that Penelope's performance sucked and that they should look forward to her next one instead because she knew how dissatisfied Penelope was with it and how much she would want to stand up again to rectify how bad this one was, but really, Yuna (and the party) are the only ones that know Penelope's true feelings. So really, it's hard for people to not dislike her for saying such "disrespectful" things about Penelope's "last performance" especially as a close friend. As for the condemnation towards her, really, it's just a bunch of petty people everywhere that don't like her journalist articles lol, but it is rather interesting that you can be condemned for something like this. It really shows how the importance doesn't lie in the gravity of the crime, the vision orb is just a depraved way of wish fulfillment for those who abuse it to get rid of people they don't like. I like how Vicious helped Yuna come to terms that what she said wasn't wrong, because she knew that praising her crappy performance was the biggest insult to Penelope, and really, these people have no right to condemn her for what she thinks just because they think that Penelope is dying so no one should say such things. They didn't even bother listening to why she said it and I'm sure they knew what she said was right anyway but were just too spiteful and self absorbed to care since it was their best "legitimate" opportunity to get rid of her. The only good thing out of all this is that for once, there were actually other people next to these crazy people that were trying to tell them that it was unreasonable and possibly a misunderstanding and that they shouldn't be too hasty to condemn Yuna like that, which is a first that I very welcomed. I mean, it honestly felt like these people used their brains for once compared to the villagers in the previous chapters. Maybe you could warrant it as the difference between countryside villages and city towns, but whatever it is, it's nice to see that the story is at least veering a bit away from "every person aside from the Tales characters are either dumb, crazy or evil". 

Anyway, nice end to the chapter as Kanata further resolves himself to change the world and Yuna will accompany them as their "pen" since "swords" can't resolve everything. The only sad part is that I used my gleamstones to draw but still couldn't get SSR Yuna, but at least I got an SSR Aegis loll. Overall, I do look forward to the next chapters and characters. I mean, Eizen (the guy who got annoyed at Vicious for using Aifread's name to lure the crappy pirates here) looked pretty cool and I would totally draw for him if he got an SSR. He'd probably fit in well with my team of beautiful boys LOL. He seemed like a best boy for some people, so I guess I'll look forward to if he'll have more appearances soon! Otherwise, I would like to see Tear, Natalia and Guy (outside of the recent event)!
