Me: *putting the kiddo to bed (she's finally started sleeping in her big-girl bed)*
Kiddo: I'm not sleepy!
Me: Yes you are.
Kiddo: No I'm not!
Me: Yes you are. You just told me you were sleepy and that's why we're going night-night.
Kiddo: Nooo I'm not tired. I won't sleep.
Me: Yes you will. Good night.
Kiddo: Not sleepy.
*two minutes later*
Kiddo: *is completely zonked out in bed*
#adventures in babysitting#i've been seeing her pretty regularly the past few months every other friday#it's fun but tiring so i'm glad her nighttime routine is significantly shorter than it used to be#once she's down she's usually out in less than 5 minutes#kinda jealous tbh#it's easier now that she's in her own bed and doesn't need me to stay by her in the couch for two hours making sure she doesn't wake up#though i do kind of miss watching Sabrina while i waited#been remembering a lot of what it was like when she was little and i saw her every day#sometimes i really miss it and wish i could go back#but it's been great seeing her grow and getting to be proud of her 'big girl' accomplishments
