I love those flashback scenes to the 1700s where they try to make armand look really rough, because they make an admirable attempt at fucking up his skin to suggest that he's sweaty and sickly and decrepit and on the verge of starvation and all that but still fundamentally what they've done is make the most beautiful man in the world a little bit pale and shiny
