i know this is sideways of the point but it feels spiritually related in a "facepalming misuse of dead dove tags" sense- but literally less than 8 minutes ago i saw a fic thoroughly dead dove tagged for “graphic descriptions of brutal murder”.

it was a couple paragraphs long short oneshot with about one sentence dedicated to an extremely basic undetailed description (more like just mention of it happening really) of someone stabbing another with a spear.

#what the fuck have people even done to the concept of 'dark'#at this point i get screamed at about being too drk and edgy and evil over things that would have easily made it into a kids movie in 2015 #people seem to think the only valid type of media anymore is wholesometm morality play cartoons for children 3-5!#this era is so fucking conservative and we're not even going to realize it for at least another 20-30 years IF we ever even realize it at a #i don't think we're ever going to realize it at all #i'm 100% convinced that period of a couple decades where we started to break free of that bullshit just a tiny bit #was entirely an irreplicatable historical fluke caused by the dawn of the early internet and the brief freedom of a new world it offered #and now that that's behind us the cultural shift it caused can never happen much less happen that way again #humans are like this by nature i think #we always seem to return to it and desire it over everything else at all costs #it's as if at heart people prefer a world where they're being subjugated and supressed too #over one where they don't have the possibility of getting to inflict it on anyone else #misanthropic doomerposting hours
