startled and depressed by the increasing number of people in the notes of my 'masturbatory' post who are claiming that encountering art they don't like is equivalent to indecent exposure

PLEASE think more seriously about (a) how consent actually works (b) what it's reasonable to criminalize#showing art to ppl that they ultimately wish they hadn't seen ≠ showing genitals to ppl that they never wanted to see in the first place!!#i know it's boring to bitch abt the ~reception~ of yr post but like. it's one thing for ppl to make dumb annoying comments#(though like. this stance IS both dumb and annoying imo)#it's another for them to essentially be lobbying for the censorship and even‚ by analogy‚ criminalization of art they don't personally like#anyway. nothing really to be done about it—i could @ them all in this argument but i doubt any of them would listen—but. alarming!!!
