Practising sceneries for the first time and attempting to conceptualise my fantasy setting.

I'm pretty satisfied with this start and I plan to make more attempts in the future

I have a whole little fantasy setting in my mind for my characters but I've not actually drawn much background or scenery before. Here are my first few attempts and I'll eventually make more till I can fully realise the concepts the way I imagine them.

These 2 are my sorta quick attempts at my floating islands that are supposed to be connected by bridges and hold a medium sized city on them. The sketches themselves didn't turn out too accurate to how I imagine things, save some tidbits here and there but it helped me figure out in which direction to go and how to go about it.

My goal is to work on more drawings with actual backgrounds, we all know the struggle and place our characters on white backgrounds. And that will still be my go to for the most part bc it's relaxing and simple but I also wanna be capable of drawing backgrounds that turn out the way that I imagine them just like I learned how to do that with characters
