can i tell you all about my conspiracy theory that roberto chose to do heathers as the season 3 riverdale musical specifically to SEO-bomb and suppress out of google-documented existence that horrible right-wing heathers 2018 miniseries that was developed as probably the most blatantly contemptuous cash-grab riverdale rip-off of all time so far
heathers the edgy tv reboot was essentially the evil (straight, boomer-oriented) version of riverdale that tvland funded. it came out in 2018, was hated by everyone and undoubtedly flooded the riverdale media team's google alerts during its whole short and notorious run
and nowdays. well. guess how many qualifiers you have to add to your google search to find reviews of that horrible 2018 heathers reboot where all the minorities were the real bullies because they could cancel people. it's a lot of qualifiers if you don't want to just see chapter fifty-one: big fun
#watching it now with katie bc i can't stand the thought of watching something i have to try to like that isn't riverdale#it's so terrible#anyway. we shouldn't lose this contextual riverdale lore#it's so relevant now when we are once again reminded about roberto's pettiness and interest in schemes and long games and contrivances#it's amazing that someone could try to make riverdale and notice so many details about its style but miss the mark so so badly#like it's so bad and so hateful. the hatefulness really can't be understated this show is a meme about librul snowflakes#and it has a character who is such a jughead knockoff but the kind of jughead knockoff your worst older relative would design#would love to get the jughead nation's takes on 4chan guy weird weirdo JD from heathers (2018) tbh. i'm obsessed with how much he bothers m

WELL SHIT!!!
It’s been a super long time since I did one of these, mostly because... I don’t know! I get a little tongue tied and I talk to a lot of you on the regular so sending you all love notes seems... weird! But then I remember, who doesn’t want to feel appreciated in a day? Honestly! So I wanted to write out some shout outs to the people who really make my time here as apart of the Riverdale fandom feel super special and worthwhile. And just? In general, a huge thank you to everyone who follows me in general because??? I really appreciate you! And it really means a lot to me that you think to even follow me in the first place, so thank you so freaking much.
Now to the love! In alphabetical order, to make my life simple~
@brassloyalty / @girlgeared !!! Ems, Ems, Ems!!! I mean okay, let me be fair, I totally wrote you a love note earlier today to the one you sent ME but here I am again. Ems, you’re brilliant, and I’m a lucky little girl (hahahaha, little...) to know you. I didn’t expect to meet someone like you, where we were able to grow our muses together in such a fierce and amazing way, but lucky me, the universe gifted me with your presence! And I couldn’t be more thankful for that fact, and all the things that we’ve been able to explore, the AUs we’ve created, and the sheer amount of writing we’ve done. You really push me to be a better Toni writer, and for that, I’m so happy. As a person, you make me happy. I’m just! Really happy you’re here, so please know you’re presence is one that I look forwards to talking to every day, for all the ups, downs, and sideways moments.
@bubblegumxveil !!! J, like. What can I say? You are? The shit? Like your writing is fucking incredible and I live for what you and Becks come up with? That you’re a bloody genius over here? I mean I could go on... oh, you want me to? Okay, how about I really feel you capture the actual essence of Betty Cooper? Seriously, you are prolific and I’m so happy we get to write together because every single god damned time I’m like, jaw on the floor, excited to reply, can’t wait to get it done... yeah. You’re just amazing at what you do, and even though we don’t talk loads and loads, you really bring something special to this fucking little fandom, you hear me? Brilliant you~~ thanks for seeing me, J.
@chaosblossomed !!! HOW COULD I DO THIS WITHOUT HAVING YOU HERE, my literal Cheryl to my Toni, my god damn Choni ship co-queen. I’m really like, feeling lame for repeating, ‘I’m so thankful!!!’ but I really am, you’re such a good person, Steph, and you really are an amazing Cheryl. Like I feel so spoiled, and so GOD DAMNED LUCKY that you wanted to get off on this whole ship adventure with me when I know it was like a whole, ooooooh, it’s so early though... but man, did we ever make that 6 months WORK for us. You’re such a dear friend, and I couldn’t imagine not having you around. I so so so appreciate you, and I cannot wait to meet you in person, because I want to show you around everywhere here in Toronto!! And please know. Through thick and thin, you fucking matter, Steph. You do. You’re more than just a Cheryl RPer. You’re more than an RPer period. You’re just... a great person. And you should know that.
@cockrch !!! Sammie, you are. The most positive and good person out there. Seriously. Your excitement, your charm, you may not realize it, but you make me smile all the time with the sheer will of your personality. You. Are. Sensational. Like actually, truly, deeply so. If I could say that there was one person out there in the world who deserved more than they got, it’s you. And... there’s no words for the thanks I have for you letting me in. To the good stuff, the bad stuff... I want you to know you’re supported and loved at every step, and you give me that avenue to cheer for you and let you know. Did I mention you’re also a fucking writing dream???
@evcryhcrd !!! I’m really happy you’re here. I know you’re always worrying and wondering, but your presence really is a gift to us all. Maybe saying this won’t make you feel it right away, and that’s okay. But I want you to know that I love writing with you, and that having you around has made my time RPing a little bit brighter while you’ve been here. I think you write so well and put so much effort into the things you do, AND IT REALLY SHOWS..!!! So please know that someone out there notices all that attention and detail you pour into what you’ve done, and believes in you all the god damned way.
@goodnessfilled !!! Now oh my god, ask anybody, and they’ll tell you I don’t have a lot of love for Archie. But wow, do you ever write him? So well? Like layered and complex and amazing, with great explanations and headcanons to it all. I really appreciate seeing how you’ve managed to take what the show has done, and helped to contextualize it and RP it with everyone that you write with. I love it! And writing with you is just so fun? I can’t wait to see how we develop and keep this going, because you are just such a talented and lovely writer.
@iconicandbeyondreproach !!! C, you’re awesome. Like? You’ve faced so much insane adversity in the year but at the same time, you are such a GOOD PERSON. You are. And the devotion and willingness you’ve put into writing Betty and developing her into someone of your own, it’s fucking incredible. Fuck everyone who sent you hate because oh my word, you have shown them who the fuck is boss. You write her so well, and you’re one of the only Betty’s out there willing to write the good, the bad, the ugly. I love it. You, you understand that complexity that is the human spirit. And I want you to know that yours is a beautiful one.
@interstellalips !!! Man, I’ll be honest, writing with you inspires some insanely good stuff. You’ve been with me since I started Toni, and just? It’s been so fun to see the evolution of this friendship they share and the way that they love and adore each other, and you’re! Just so fucking fun to write with, and I want you to know that your talent is SEEN AND LEAVES ME IN AWE. I just want you around all the time, because you really turn some creative cranks within me, and you seem so bloody lovely. Thank you for adding us, and thank you for being around.
@kalxidoscopc !!! Della Bella, you are a force of positivity and saccharine goodness within this fandom. Thank you so much for doing all you can to bring warmth to all those that enter it, and including everyone you can. The world, work, and life is crazy, but it’s amazing to see what you produce despite it all, because you really are such a talented writer and person. I believe in you and all the dreams you have for yourself, and honestly, I want to see you find all the success in the world with the things that you choose for yourself. Because you deserve a life, as lovely as the one that you give to others with your presence within the world.
@stormedchaos / @lastjones !!! LOR, my sweetest Lor. I’m really really excited to meet you in just over a week, legit it’s all I’m thinking about? I’m really glad to have met you, someone I really feel is an equal with all the things you’re doing in your life, and all your awesomeness. I’m a happy girl with you around, and I really do care about you. I want you to know that you’re incredible with all the muses you’ve touched, and all the writing we’re doing. I love all the angles and different takes we have on everything, I appreciate the time you give me when you can, and honestly, I’m so excited to see what the future of our friendship is like. I adore you so much!
@xoruzhiye / @personatvs !!! Oh wow! Like I don’t know where to start with this because we don’t talk much but I want to change that. You honestly write so well. Like? So fucking well. I’m always excited when you reply, I’m always blown away by how much you know your muses, and it’s just so much fun when we get into things. I love how much you appreciate source material and make your girls so fucking badass, but human, I love how you’ve done so much with Bucky and made my ship I hardcore. I can’t wait to see how things unfold for Jefferson and Alice. I just love the worldbuilding? And you, you’re a master at it.
@yourpaljughead !!! The best for last? Wink wonk~~~ I’m gonna declare this big and loud, YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND, AND I’LL LOVE YOU FOREVER. I could go off on our many stories or adventures together, but honestly, one of us will end up crying and both of us are ugly criers (uh, that wedding, much?). You are a singular force in life, V. Incredible, beautiful, smart. I’m a lucky person to have you there in my life through all the steps I’ve taken in these last fucking 8 years. And you know what? We have a long life ahead of us, with so much mutual growing and love to share. Okay, I’ll be honest, kind of tearing up, but like? You really are such a great person and I couldn’t ask for a better friend or partner in life to go through the messiness of living with. Just know that I love you, I’m constantly proud of you, and that RP or no, you’re one of the most important people in my life, and always will be.
TO ALL THOSE WHO DESERVE A MENTION !!!
Frankly, you all have incredible, incredible muses. I feel so lucky and blessed to be able to play with all of you, and you all make the experience such a blessed one by having you all on my dash. GENUINELY, let’s do more, let’s talk, let’s plot, let’s do insane things! Let’s fail a fucking bunch and keep on trying to create something amazing. Basically, y’all are art, and I’m just here trying to get in on that.

I would like to thank @leaalda for making these amazing banners.
This is an effort to spread the word about all fan fiction writers in our little fandom. If you would like to be featured or nominate a writer, please contact me. Please reblog this post if you can and check out some of @stillscape work!
1. First things first, if someone wanted to read your stories where can they find them.
All my Riverdale fics are here, on Ao3.
2. Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m on the far side of 30 and I’ve had the same tumblr avatar since 2011. I gave up trying to pretend to be cool in my junior year of college, when I got drunk at a party and spent the rest of the evening yelling at people in iambic pentameter.
3. What do you never leave home without?
Just the usual boring stuff--wallet, keys, phone.
4. Are you an early bird or a night owl?
Kind of both, actually? Which is a problem, because I don’t do well on minimal sleep.
5. If you could live in any fictional world which one would you choose and why?
I suppose Harry Potter, but only because I can’t think of a better answer.
6. Who is the most famous person you’ve ever met?
Anthony Hopkins?
7. What are some of your favorite movies/TV?
Oh my god, so many. TV: Parks and Rec, obviously. Recently: GLOW, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, GoT, Better Call Saul, Fargo, BoJack Horseman...I watch a lot of TV.
8. What are some of your favorite bands/musicians?
I don’t keep up, honestly. My iPod is perpetually full of late ‘60s/early ‘70s rock.
9. Favorite Books?
AS Byatt, Persuasion; Michael Chabon, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay; Margaret Atwood, Atlas Grace; Hanya Yanagahira, The People in the Trees; this list could go on for pages and pages so I’ll wind it down with my favorites from the Classics Shelf, Pride and Prejudice and Anna Karenina
10. Favorite Food?
The one thing I’ll almost never turn down is sharp white Cheddar cheese, so we’ll go with that.
11. Biggest pet peeve?
Noisy eaters.
12. What did you want to be when you were little? What do you want to be now?
I wanted to be either Pablo Picasso or an astronaut. Neither of those quite worked out.
13. What are your biggest fears? Do you have any strange fears?
I don’t think I have any strange fears. I’m averse to very large spiders and creepy deep sea creatures, but I’m not exactly afraid of either. I would just prefer to not look at them or be near them.
14. When you are on your deathbed what would be the one thing you’d regret not doing?
I do hope I’ve published a book by the time I die.
Okay… let’s talk about your writing!
15. Which is your favorite of the fics you've written for the Bughead fandom?
I haven’t written all that many, but I’ll say all the roads we have to walk.
16. Which was the hardest to write, in terms of plot?
Same answer. It’s really the only one that has a (long) plot, though.
17. How do you come up with the ideas for your fic(s)? Do you people watch? Listen to music? Get inspired by TV/movies?
They usually just arrive in my brain. all the roads came from my desire to read a fic of Jughead also being at Betty’s internship, and I couldn’t find one, so I started writing it--but before I got to the starting point of that one, I wanted a detailed prequel that I couldn’t find, so I wrote that too.
18. Idea that you always wanted to write but could never make work?
I’ve been able to make most of my ideas work eventually. It just takes time and effort.
19. Least favorite plot point/chapter/moment you’ve written?
Hmm. There are a few moments I wish I’d written a little differently, but more in the sense that I didn’t choose the right words. I’m sticking by all the plot points I’ve written.
20. Favorite plot point/chapter/moment you’ve written?
For Riverdale, I think it’s the New Year’s Eve video call at the end of chapter 3 of for the life of me.
21.Favorite character to write?
All-time, it’s probably Ben Wyatt. But for this fandom, I enjoy Betty and Jughead equally. I feel like my favorite other character to write is Veronica, but I’ve barely written any Veronica--so Cheryl, maybe? Jughead’s mom has been a fun exercise, but since we haven’t actually seen her on the show, she feels almost like an OC to me.
22. Favorite line or lines of dialogue that you've written?
This is my favorite passage, I think, which is from Chapter 4 of for the life of me:
One day towards the end of January, as they stand up to leave the cafeteria after lunch, Betty Cooper fixes her eyes on him, squints, and tilts her head.
“Mustard?” he asks. He resists swiping at his face only because he’s holding a plastic tray of flabbergasting detritus.
(He hasn’t eaten anything with mustard on it.)
“No.”
“Then what?”
(Ketchup, crumbs, giant hole in his shirt, he’s bleeding profusely from an unknown orifice, he’s developed a second head?)
“I think you got taller,” she says, thoughtfully.
Huh.
“What, like since we sat down?”
Betty makes the noise he’s noticed her making a lot lately. It’s a little laugh that’s somewhere between a snort and a chuckle but is definitely neither one of those things, and he cannot figure out a single word to describe it.
“See you in English, Jug.”
She’s right, he realizes later. He’s only about two inches shorter than Archie now, instead of four.
And that’s all it is in the end. He’s not a black hole collapsing in on himself while consuming every object within his gravitational pull. He’s just having one cosmic-joke-level inconveniently timed growth spurt.
(Which Betty Cooper noticed before he did.)
But my favorite single line is this, from Kevin trying to convince Betty to buy a more adventurous wardrobe: “Fine.” He throws up his hands. “Be that way. Keep dressing like a permanent tribute to the 2012 J. Crew Easter collection.”
23. Best comment/review you’ve ever received?
I always appreciate when people say something I’ve written has personally resonated with them, or given them all the feels, that kind of thing. I also love when someone points out a subtle detail that I wasn’t sure anyone was going to notice, since I generally try to live by the show-don’t-tell rule of storytelling. Or “I just found this and stayed up all night to binge the whole thing.”
24. How do you handle bad reviews or comments?
I don’t know that I’ve ever really gotten any. Sometimes I’ll get a comment and I can’t tell whether the author actually liked what I wrote, to which I usually just thank them for reading.
25. If you could change anything in any of your stories, what would it be?
Listen, literally every time I read anything over, I find at least three sentences I could have written better.
26. What is your favorite story you’ve ever written? Any fandom?
Well, this is going to make me sound like a crazy person, but I once wrote a fairly epic one-shot RPF of the Parks and Rec fandom pulling off a jewel heist. It had about 30 people/characters (because Andy Dwyer and a few characters from VEEP also showed up), and it was completely insane, and I don’t think I’ll ever hit that level of magic again.
27. What are you reading right now? Both fan fiction and general fiction?
General fiction: I just started Octavia Butler’s Seed novels. Fan fiction: I’m living for @lessoleilscouchants’ (my youth ain’t) tangled up in bad decisions, @onceuponamirror’s Heart Rise Above, @christah88’s Don’t Drink the (Maple) Water, and @cooperjones2020 Second City (as of this writing, I’m behind on reviewing those last three! I promise I will once I finish my chapter draft!)
28. Do you have an advice for writers that want to get into this fandom but might be scared?
Just do it! But before you do it, do your very very best to have your spelling, grammar, and formatting tip-top, because getting those things wrong are often turnoffs for readers.
If you’re nervous about posting or getting constructive criticism, ask someone to beta for you. Most writers, me included, are honored to be asked to beta and will do it when we have the time.
Be involved in the fandom. Leave comments on other people’s stories. Leave friendly messages in other people’s tumblr inboxes! Write meta commentary for scenes or characters and post that.

First Kiss - Jughead Jones
Anonymous said:
If request are open can you write a fem reader x jughead imagine where jughead finds out the reader hast had her first kiss yet and he decides to change that. If you could make it super fluffly that would be great! Thanks, love your writing.
You were walking with Archie and Veronica as they talked about a party they attended last night; raving about the games and scandalous happenings. While they gossiped you made your way to the lunch table with the talkative couple trailing behind you.
“You should've been there Y/N! Plenty of guys were there, waiting for a beautiful girl to steal their hearts.” You rolled your eyes at Veronica as you sat in front of Jughead. His nose was buried in a book, with a long title that only would seem interesting to him. You gave him a soft smile when he looked up; but went back to his book when Veronica continued to speak.
“Everyone was playing spin the bottle, even Reggie Mantle,” she teased. You turned your head and gave the raven-haired girl a incredulous look. “What?” she asked when she noticed your expression, along with Jughead and Archie’s faces as well.
“I don’t think Y/N would want to waste her time with Reggie. He’s a good football player but,” Archie just shook his head. Jughead let out a hum of agreement and looked back to his book.
“Definitely wouldn’t want to waste my first kiss on him either,” you said lowly; but loudly enough for Veronica to hear.
“What!? You’ve never kissed anyone?” You blushed a deep red and looked around. Archie had a surprised look on his face but Jughead’s mouth was slightly open in shock.
“What,” the blue eyed boys voice was deep with confusion, causing you to meet his eyes. You blushed a little harder, trying desperately to control your emotions. Embarrassment was already rooted down, now that your crush knew you hadn’t even had your first kiss yet. Yet, Jughead couldn’t believe it. Such a wonderfully amazing girl, the girl he had liked since grade school, hadn’t kissed anyone in her life. He couldn’t help but be shocked.
“I just haven’t found anyone that I have trusted enough. Isn’t that what a kiss should mean, that you trust and care for the other person?” You looked down at your tray, trying to hide your blush. Veronica nodded, but her brows were still furrowed. It was Archie that spoke up.
“You’re right, your first kiss should be with someone you care about.” You smiled graciously at the red-head before glancing up at Jughead. He was gnawing slightly on his bottom lip, in deep thought. His face perked up when he noticed you looking at him. Jughead gave you a soft smile, one you thought meant understanding.
“I gotta go,” Jughead said suddenly, “I’ll see you guys later.” He walked off, his book held tightly in his hand. Veronica let out a sigh and rested a hand on your shoulder.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to say it that loud. I was just, it was a jolt.” You nodded, mentally going over what had happened. Archie frowned at you, because if you knew that Jughead liked you, you’d be spared from the awkwardness you were feeling.
The rest of the lunch went on without any further talk about the lack of first kisses. Betty and Kevin showed up, talking your ears off for the remainder of time. Through the next few passing periods, you’d see Jughead. You’d give him a wave and he’d shoot you a soft smile. When he had passed, you internally cursed yourself for being so bashful. You had been friend with Jughead Jones ever since you could remember; it was just your feelings that complicated things. By the end of the school day, you had nearly forgotten about your embarrassment until you saw Jughead once again.
Your friend was talking to Betty, leaning close to her as if telling her something secretive. Betty had a bright smile on her face, nodding at something Jughead was saying. You met the boy’s eyes, blushing for the upteenth time that day. You looked down and sped up your walking, rushing out the Riverdale High’s doors; hoping that this day would just end.
You were laying face down on your bed, trying hopelessly to forget about everything. Everything to do with Jughead and your red hot embarrassment. Of course Jughead would go after the perfect girl; the one who was gorgeous and smart. Betty probably has kissed someone before, maybe she had kissed Jughead.
You buried your face deeper into the pillow, stifling an annoyed groan. Your thoughts were drowning you and you couldn’t get rid of them. Every old daydream of you and Jughead danced in your head and you felt tears form in your eyes. You rolled back over on your back, looking up at your ceiling. Raising a hand to wipe away your tears, you almost didn’t hear your phone go off. You reached out for your phone, looking at the text message you got.
Jughead : Hey, you wanna come to the Drive In for a bit?
You : Why?
Jughead : Because….I want to hang out with you.
You : Okay sure. I’ll be there soon. :)
Getting up, you quickly prepared yourself for the possibility for further embarrassment. You cleaned up your face, wiping the tears and evidence of crying off your cheeks. Looking in the mirror, you studied your reflection. You straightened your clothes, smoothing out the wrinkles and turned towards your bedroom door.
The Drive In looked as barren as ever when you arrived to the near empty lot. The screen was down, but no cars lingered in the space before it. You made your way over to the shack where Jughead had staked his claim. As you approached the older structure, you noticed that Jughead had added little lights that hung beneath the lip of the roof. It made the little shack look more mystical than it really was, but added charm nonetheless.
You knocked softly against the door, waiting to see if Jughead would answer; he had invited you after all. As you shifted your weight nervously on your feet, the lights surrounding the screen turned off and left you in a harsh darkness. The sun was low in the sky, leaving only enough light to see large details of the lot. You turned your head to the screen, which was now showing motion on its surface. An old romance was planning, you recognized the title from one of your movie outings with Jughead. You had both gone to see the film to celebrate Jughead getting a job at the Drive In. It was in classic black and white and insanely corny. It had you and Jughead laughing from your spot on the ground; smiling at each other whenever one of the lead said something overly dramatic. You teased each other by throwing the same line at each other, trying to be as romantic as possible.
Smiling at the memory while looking at the screen, you didn’t hear Jughead walk up behind you. You couldn’t see it, but he was smiling down at you, remembering that same night. When you were laughing so loud the people around the two of you hushed you. Your blush and shy smile as you looked back at up at him. Jughead had realized it then; he trusted you, that he loved you more than he ever thought he could love someone.
“It’s actually a decent movie if you don’t giggle your way through it,” he said finally. You turned around and met his bright eyes. He wore a fond smile on his features, a familiar grin that you had come to need. It was the type of smile he used only for certain people, namely you and Archie; but there was something special about this smile that you couldn’t place.
“You mean that you watched this on your free time?” Jughead let out a chuckle, looking down at his shoes before nodding at you. “Wow,” you said, looking back towards the film, “who knew Jughead Jones was a romantic.” You noticed a pink tint on his cheeks that made you grin.
“Just because we’re friends doesn’t mean you know the deepest and darkest secrets of mine.” You shook your head at him, crossing your arms across your chest.
“That’s my job description. The paper said : as Mr. Jones’ closest friend, you will gain access to the inner workings of his thoughts.” He smiled at you and you continued, “it was one of the many perks of the job.”
“You have been one of the best friends I’ve hired over the years,” Jughead said, playing into the joke. “But I fear that I might have to let you go.” Your smile instantly fell from your face as the word left his lips. You carefully stepped forward on shaky limbs, worry laced in your heart.
“What do you mean Jughead?” The boy shook his head at the tone of your voice, as if he hadn’t meant to scare you. He rested his hands on your shoulders, looking into your eyes.
“I think you’re better suited for a different job, but you’ll still be working in the same spot.” You furrowed your brows, wishing for him to elaborate. “In my opinion, I think this job pays better. Or it has more perks at least.” You felt the corners of your lips turn upwards in a small smile, starting to understand; but that same understanding made your heart flutter uncontrollably.
“What if the business fails, or you want to actually fire me?” Jughead smiled softly, moving his hands from your shoulders to your own. He held your palms in his own, smiling down at them.
“I have a feeling that, that won’t happen Y/N. This is a promotion, only offered to you.” You blushed softly, silently thanking the dusk light for hiding it.
“But what if that does happen, or we find that we don’t like the new working condition? Maybe you’ll want to promote someone else.” Your mind drifted to Betty, wondering why you were here and she wasn’t. Maybe what you saw was nothing. Jughead let out a soft chuckle, looking back up into your eyes. In them you saw what you could only call affection. One of his hands went up, tenderly brushing some of your hair from your face.
“Do you trust me?” You curled your lips together, wetting them slightly. His hand rested against your shoulder now, his fingers grazing your neck softly.
“Yes,” you whispered, remembering what you had said at the lunch table. Isn’t that what a kiss should mean, that you trust the other person? You knew that you trusted Jughead, you knew that you deeply cared for him; and it seemed that he does too.
Jughead smiled softly, leaning forward to close the gap between you. Your mind flashed to every kiss you had seen in the movies or heard described in songs; but nothing compared to the way Jughead kissed you. His lips were soft and his touch was so gentle. His hand moved to cup your jaw as you kissed him. You could feel eyelashes lightly tickle your own, making you smile into the kiss. Granted, this was your first time kissing someone like this, so it was a little sloppy. Not knowing where to put your hands, but soon resting them against his chest.
It got to the point where you had to pull away to breathe, but part of your wanted to stay in that moment forever. The feeling of Jughead’s lips on yours left a little tickle on the sensitive flesh of your lip. You opened your eyes, after another, seeing that Jughead’s eyes were still closed. You moved a hand up to his face and he opened his eyes slowly. You couldn’t even imagine what this looked like from the outside.
Two teens, standing incredibly close while an old movie played in the background. You giggled at the thought and so did Jughead. He leaned forward one more, pressing a soft peck to your lips. You smiled and giggled; which only made Jughead smile wider.
“So where’s my office,” you teased, wrapping your arms around and over his neck. He smiled down at you, that same cheesy grin as before.
“Here,” he said, moving a hand to rest against his chest. You laughed loudly, making Jughead smile brightly. “Too much?” You smiled, overjoyed and letting it show.
“No,” you whispered softly. Jughead nodded before craning his neck downwards dn pressing yet another kiss to your lips. After you first one, you welcomed all the others and hoped you weren’t too bad at kissing; not that either of you truly minded. You were just happy to finally be holding each other, to finally kiss each other for the first time.

Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
You take a sip of your coffee as you look at the computer in front of you; you are never going to understand why you accepted a job at the Stark Industries, sure they pay you really well but looking at budgets all day was starting to make you crazy.
To be honest, the budget in front of you is the least of your concerns, it’s been five days since Bucky went on a mission and you still haven’t heard from him. Usually, he texts you to let you know that he was alive and well. But so far nothing, according to Natasha they are fine but the mission is a lot more complicated than they anticipated.
You wish they would be home soon, you hated worrying much, you couldn’t sleep when you were worried.
You almost have a heart attack when you hear your phone ringing, you look at the id caller expecting it to be Dan but no it is Wanda. This is odd she never calls you “Hey Wan is everything fine?” Your mind goes to the worst scenario possible, afraid that something might have happened to Bucky.
“Yes of course everything is fine, I want to take you out for lunch. Then we can go buy some swimsuits, come on it’s going to be so much fun.” You take a deep breath relieved that nothing bad happened, you really should solve the problem with this damn budget in front of you. Your boss would kill you if this ins’t ready by the end of the day “I don’t know, I have a lot of work to do and a meeting in 3 hours and I don’t even know what it’s about.”
“Please, you are working so much this week. You deserve a break, and I am already on the building so get ready I will be there in 5.” You agree not having the energy to argue with her. You are tired and starving , as promised in 5 minutes she is knocking on your office door and taking you to eat a burger.
“So are you gonna tell me why you are working so much? And before you lie to me remember I can read minds and I know that you leave the office almost 8 pm every night.” You take a sip of your iced tea looking at her “It’s nothing, I have things to do and 8 pm is not even that late. It is only some extra hours.”
“Sure tell that to yourself, but you and I know that is too much. But how was your date last night? ” You smile thinking about last night, Dan came to pick you up from the office with some beautiful roses and he took you to a Japanese restaurant close to your home.
Your night was really good, you and Dan talked and laughed all night. You were really starting to like him, being around Dan was reassuring, and he was always trying to make you smile. At the end of the date he walked you home holding your hand, he gave you his jacket when you complained about the cold and when he kissed you in your front door he didn’t’ try to get into your apartment to have sex like any other guy would do.
“He sounds amazing, a really good guy. The kind of guy that would see you in a bikini, blush and say you look beautiful instead of hot.” You smile at her because you don’t doubt that he would do exactly this.
Wanda tells you about all the things she solved about the party, from music to the flavor of the cake as you two eat hamburgers with fries. You were happy to see your friend so excited for something, usually, she is only this happy around Vision , it is nice to see a change in her behavior.
After lunch, you two go to a small boutique to find some bikinis, you want something simple, cute and cheap. Unfortunately for you, Wanda had others plans, she made you try a lot of swimsuits.
After trying on 15 different swimsuits, you really liked a simple black bikini, it had a good support for your boobs and it fit really well.
“I don’t know, you look nice but you could look better.” You look at Wanda rolling your eyes, what she wants from you? “I am just saying, maybe a little color? Something that people can’t take their eyes of you.”
“It’s your birthday, all eyes should be on you. I am fine with this.” You say gesturing to your body “Come on, try this one if you don’t like you can buy that one.” She hands you a red two piece and as you try on you can’t deny you look hot.
The top made your boobs look amazing but was still comfortable enough and the bottoms hid any imperfections you might have. People dream about finding a bikini like this, so you decide to buy it “I knew it you would love this one, it has your name all over it. Come on I will pay for you, consider it an early birthday present."
You only manage to have a decent night of sleep on Saturday, sure you were relieved that you solved your budgets problems on work but this wasn’t the reason. The real reason was that Nat finally texted you saying that Bucky and Steve will arrive in half hour into the compound and more importantly they were fine.
After sleeping for 11 hours you are feeling well rested and ready to face the day. You hated the bad habit that you had to check your phone first thing in the morning, sure sometimes there were important things from work but usually, it was the group chat that you had with the girls and one or two texts from some random people.
Bucky had sent you 5 messages since last night, you smile thinking about him. Doesn’t matter how tired he was he still took the time to text you.
Hey, I am sorry I did no text you soon, but was a complicated mission. I am home now, talk to you tomorrow.
And yes I am okay, kind off I have a deep cut on my cheek but I am pretty sure that a good night of sleep it will solve all my problems.
Okay, don’t freak out but here is a picture.
The fourth message was a picture of his cheek, it looked awful. The cut was so deep, with so much blood that your heart breaks a little to imagine the pain that he might be in. And the last text made you smile, it was so adorable.
Good morning, I hope I didn’t scare you with the picture I know that you don’t like blood. I am going to be in your house in 10 minutes , for us to have some breakfast. I am bringing bagels and muffins, make some coffee for us.
You look at the clock is being 8 minutes since he texted you, you really should get up and make coffee for the two of you.
“I missed you.” You say opening the door, hugging Bucky. He pulls you closer to his body, kissing your hair “I missed you too, I had to share my bed with Steve one night. Can you imagine sharing the bed with someone that size?”
“I can, I share my bed with you almost every day.” You say looking at the cut in his cheek ,is so much better than the picture he sent you but still was there. You trace your fingers gently over his cheek, making him lean into your touch “Sorry about the bed, I should buy you a bigger one.”
You laugh, closing your front door “Don’t worry, I kinda like it. Come on let’s eat, I am starving.” You serve coffee for the both of you, sitting on the couch next to him “How was the mission?’ You ask, taking Bucky away from his thoughts “Honestly, I hate undercover missions. Steve is the worst person to be around in these situations.”
You nod, knowing that he is not allowed to give any details “The real question here, doll. You didn’t watch any episodes of This is us while I was away, did you?” You shake your head no “No, I stay working late almost all week, I didn’t cheat on our little tradition.”
A year ago you and Bucky started a tradition to binge watch TV series together. In this one year you two already watched, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, Riverdale, Friends and the most awkward of all True Blood.
There was so much sex on that show, every time someone on the screen was getting on you were blushing and your mind was in a dirty place where you were the one doing whatever what was happening on the screen with Bucky.
You still have dirty dreams about one of these scenes “So what did you do this week?” You shrug “I worked a lot, really I never worked so much like this past week. I went shopping with Wanda, I baked a cake and I started to watch a Disney Channel show… please don’t judge me but was really good and I finished the first two seasons.”
He laughs taking a sip of his coffee “Sounds like an interesting week, do you still have that cake? And did you sleep, because doesn't sound like it?” You shake your head no “ No for both, but that show was so interesting and sad at the same time with so many life lessons. I need it some emotional support watching and the cake was there, waiting to be eaten."
He pulls you into a hug, saying sarcastic “Poor thing, did you cry?” You nod pouting “A lot.” You say pretending to be sad “Do you want to cry some more and watch another episode of This Is Us while we eat?” You nod, turning on the TV.
You don’t even notice the 40 minutes of the episode passing, or that your head is on Bucky’s shoulder or the tears in your eyes “Oh crap I have to get ready for the party, we have to be there in half hour.” You say when you notice that you two would be late if you didn't start to get ready now.
In your room, you strip really fast, putting the swimsuit but you are so nervous that you can’t tie the knot correctly. You take a deep breath, looking at yourself in the mirror before calling Bucky “Hey can you come here for a second?” In a few seconds, he enters your room, but he stops in the middle of the way when he sees what you are wearing “Wow, you look really good.”
“Thank you, can you tie me up?” You ask turning around, showing that you are holding your bikini up on your boobs “Sure thing.” He takes your hair out of your back, tying up the bikini for you “Make it firm, I don’t want to be topless on the pool.”
He laughs, making tighter “You know that I am super soldier, right? If I make this too tight you will never be able to get it off and I would have to rip off you.” You shiver at his words, especially because the way he said was so sexy “Please… don’t do this. Bikinis are expensive.”
You say putting the first shirt you saw, trying to cover your chest “Well if you need any help to get out of this ,you know where to find me.” He says giving you your shorts, you finish getting in a few minutes. Putting your shorts, some sunglasses and your hair up you were ready to go.
When you and Bucky arrive to the party, Wanda pulls you to hug and you can see that she is already a little tipsy, which is odd in two years you never saw her drunk “You are late, Vision is shirtless and he has abs. Can you believe abs!” You laugh giving her, her present “Thank youuuu, you didn’t have too. Be here I will find a drink for you.”
You take off your shirt looking for someone to keep you company, you doubt that you would see Wanda soon “Hey boys.” You say seeing Steve and Sam talking close to the pool “Hey, you look good, this explain why Bucky ran away for his bedroom.” You hit Sam arms “Don’t be gross, Sam.”
Steve laughs giving you a beer, you thank him “You know your boyfriend is here.” Your attention comes back to Sam as he says this, you don’t know what he is talking about it. You never invited Dan like Wanda wanted “What? I don’t have a boyfriend.” Sam rolls his eyes at you “Fine, your date Dan. Last time I saw him he was talking with Tony by the grill.”
“If you guys excuse me, I have to kill a witch.” You get inside of the compound, not wanting to deal with this situation. You weren’t ready to see Dan again, the fact that he is here makes this a date and not just any date a third date and everyone knows what happens on third dates.
You hear someone calling your name “Hey I was looking for you. What is the problem?” You look around relived that it is Bucky and not anyone else. Part of you knows that you are being silly, Dan would never force himself on you, but you are looking forward to have a nice day on the pool and not a nice date on the pool.
Before you can respond, you hear a door closing and someone saying “You are here.” This time it is Dan, he kisses your cheek, as he introduces himself to Bucky. They shake hands, you notice that Bucky puts a little more strength on the handshake than necessary but this doesn’t affect Dan he smiles at Bucky and says “I remember you from the other party. Where is your girlfriend?”
You feel Dan’s putting his hands on your waist in a protective but not in a possessive way. There was a lot of tension in the air, Bucky looks angry that Dan brought up the Josephine subject and Dan looks like he doesn't care.
Watching this was like watching a train wreck, you hated but you couldn’t look away even if you wanted. Bucky made himself look as big as possible without breaking eye contact with Dan, while Dan had that playful smile on his lips saying that he wasn’t afraid.
Sometimes you hate men and the need to be in control of the situation
“I don’t. You didn’t tell me that you were still seeing this guy.” Bucky says looking straight into your eyes “Yes, we had dinner a few days ago.” You wish you could disappear right now, the atmosphere in this place was so heavy “You didn’t tell me. “ Bucky says again, this time sounding almost hurt.
“I didn’t think that you would want to know about that, Bucky. You hate to talk about my dates. “Dan let go of your waist, he looks at you and you can see what he is mentally asking you “Do you want to talk to him alone?”
“So he is your boyfriend now?”
You never get the chance to answer, you hear a loud noise coming from the pool and you decide to take the chance to run away from this awkward situation “I will see what is happening, we continue this conversation later.”
You leave, letting the two man on the couch, before you can close the door you hear Dan saying to Bucky “Are you jealous? “

I Knew I Would See You Again (”Why Now?” Part 2) - Jughead Jones Imagine (Riverdale)
Part 1 | Part 3
Hello again, I noticed that you liked my first imagine „Why Now?” and I decided to do a part two of it! Some people also asked me to. I am very happy that you liked part one, you guys amazed me! I really didn’t expect that, thank you for reading it! If you didn’t read „Why Now?” and just came across this imagine, please click above on Part 1 to read, although you will not understand anything. I also made a special page where I will post all of my Imagines. It’s down here:
Imagines
About this part I still don’t have any warnings to do because it’s too innocent, haha. I don’t own any of the TV series’s rights and the persons I’m mentioning here aren’t like that in the real life. This is just a story made up by me, meaning that the descriptions of the characters that I’m writing about are based on how the Riverdale’s cast is portraying them. It’s a work of fiction. Enjoy your reading. xx
PLOT: You stayed in Houston for a year. During all this time, you've managed to get in touch with your friends who have made you aware of everything that has happened in Riverdale so far. Even so, you missed them a lot and as soon as summer came, you informed your parents that you are going back to your hometown to celebrate your 18th birthday. You are about to find things that will make you regret you haven’t been with your friends, but most importantly, you will see him again.
You didn’t even feel how time had passed. It’s been a year, a whole year since you left Riverdale for a fresh start and for a better life. It wasn’t like that for you, you had no idea how you got through it. You only wanted the things to be good between you and your parents, but you couldn’t lie to yourself. You’ve suffered and if you’re gonna remember the day you left … The way things went off, you would probably feel sorry. You were absolutely convinced that you weren’t going to disappoint Veronica, Archie, Betty … Jughead, they knew that too. Every one of them kept their word: Archie called you every single day, you would talk to him for hours and he would finally sing something short just to cheer you up. You wouldn’t forget to ask him if Jughead was alright and he would say that he would never lie to you about anything. Archie and Jughead were best friends, you knew he would never abandon Jughead. You and Veronica would facetime everytime you were free. You always told her that Houston is a nice place and that you feel very good here, but you wouldn’t be convincing. It wasn’t the fact that you hated that place, it was just the fact that you knew anyone around here. You were the new girl, the new neighbor … It was tiring for you. Eventually Veronica would make you laugh even if you couldn’t even smile and you would almost fall asleep while talking to her. The blonde one – Betty, was the most worried about you. She would ask you thousands of times if you are okay and send you a lot of pictures with her and the others so you can watch them whenever the longing became too intense. They made you forget, somehow. For a while, it wasn’t enough.
Then, everything started to get easier. You were accommodating with your new school’s schedule, studying most of the time and getting ready for exams. Sometimes you would think of how you used to eat lunch with Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead outside and how anyone could make you feel as they did. There was no fun. There weren’t delicious chocolate milkshakes as the ones at Pop’s were. There was no one named Jughead who would wear his crown-shaped beanie even if he was inside of a house. It was incredibly hard for you not to think about him all this time. You remembered how you cried the first night away from Riverdale and how lonely you felt. Jughead called you that night, you could barely talk. He tried to calm you down, but it wasn’t possible. You simply left him alone after he confessed he liked you. After he tried to show his true feelings towards you. You always knew how odd he felt doing it, and you could imagine how hard it was for him. And you did what? You were miles away now. You would have understood him if he was mad at you, though he said he wasn’t. You almost wanted him too. What if everytime you hung up the phone, he will not talk to anyone else for a long time? What if he wasn’t himself anymore? What if he was stuck? You’re still asking this and you are afraid of a real answer. You felt him so close to you than he have ever been before and you couldn’t show him the same feelings. Sometimes you would want to feel his body pressed to yours, to cuddle him because you never had the chance to do that. Your mother was the first one to fiind out how it was with this Jughead guy, you didn’t need to explain anything to her. She saw you being affected and tried to make you feel better. You didn’t let her. Neither your dad. It was their fault. It took you long enough to get used to the idea, still, you haven’t looked for any other boy’s affection.
When summer came, you knew you had a chance. You talked with Veronica in time, telling her you plan to come back to Riverdale for your birthday. She almost started to scream from happiness when you told her that, but you mentioned her not to tell Archie, Betty or Jughead about that. You wanted to be a surprise. She told you you'd spend the night at her when you got there and assured you she'd keep her mouth shut. Both of you were so excited. You couldn’t help but think about everyone’s faces when they’ll see you. You couldn’t wait to see them too, it was like you were already feeling their giant tight hug against your body. You asked your parents to let you go back, you could not forget this important detail. They couldn’t believe it when they heard you. Your father was red from anger. „No way!” they both would tell you. Of course you couldn’t accept that, so you continued to beg for their approval. They did not want you to leave because they wanted you to be with them on your birthday, not in that town. They seemed so disgusted, as if they hadn’t lived there once. You did everything in your power until you were able to convince them. You promised a short term, after which you would come back home. You needed your friends and some more familiar surroundings for a while. They understood it hard, but you were glad that they did. You were excited to see even Cheryl who was never incredibly excited about your presence. You heard a lot of shocking news about her brother's death and you wanted to find out more. Veronica didn’t give you too many details, she wanted to play with you. You wanted Cheryl and her family to be okay after all the rumblings they've been through since the tragedy.
So the days have passed quite fast with you trying to fullfill your time as much as possible so you wouldn’t need to wait that long. You suddenly saw yourself with all the luggage done, almost as if you wanted to leave faster than you should’ve. Jughead noticed how changed you were every time he called you and you felt him quite surprised. He got used to make you feel better, and to smile sweetly and cheeky everytime you two would facetime. It was funny to lie him ’cause it wasn’t anything serious, you couldn’t wait to meet his mesmerizing green eyes again.
This time you’ll tell him too. You’ll tell him everything.
***
You couldn’t stand the place. The taxi driver seemed to drive too slow for your patience. The night was still young. You were so close to your hometown again, you couldn’t believe it. You thought it was a dream, wanting someone to pinch you. You blinked many times, looking out the window and admiring the landscape. You missed the strange appearance of Riverdale because you still were used to it. You’d have preferred this silence than all that noise back in Houston. Before you leave home, your mom and dad have warned you: you were not allowed to break your promise. You asked them to come with you so that you will be together on your birthday, it wouldn’t bother you. But your father had his job and wouldn’t let only your mother to come with you. You kinda felt that once you’ll see your friends, you couldn’t leave anymore. But nobody had to know that yet.
You took your phone out of your pocket and checked to see if Veronica texted you. Until now she constantly did that, she couldn’t wait to see you, God. You wondered if she was still the same as you knew her. You wondered if her family was okay, you wanted to know if her love life was up and you wished she didn’t suffer because of your departure. You felt like you couldn’t resist much longer, it’s been so long …
You asked the taxi driver to leave you a little farther from Veronica's house because you didn’t want her to see you or wait for you. You just walked a little, and you never imagined it could be so hard with all the luggage and emotions that were not going to leave you too soon. You immediately recognized the huge building and increased your peace. A little more.
A man opened the door for you when he saw you carrying so much weight. You mumbled a „thank you” and then entered, leading directly to Veronica’s apartment. Standing in front of the door you felt your knees weak. You took a deep breath and then knocked at the door.
Almost immediately you heard Veronica’s voice from the inside:
„Y/N should be there in a few moments.” You couldn’t help but smile when you heard the sound of the door opening.
After that, you just felt like your strength was gone.
A tall girl dressed in a red top and some skinny black jeans looked at you from head to toe. Her dark hair was left free and hang just above her shoulders, as you were used with her wearing it like that. You whined and you covered your mouth with your hand, slipping the suitcasses on the floor.
„Oh my God.” You heard Veronica exhaling. It could’ve happen literally everything in this moment and you would notice nothing but one of your dearest friends looking at you extremly shocked. „Oh my God!” You heard her again. „Y/N!” She wrapped her hands around your neck and squealed. You felt like your heartbeats stopped.
„Hello to you too, Veronica” You tried to say even if you felt like she was strangling you.
„Jessus Christ, are you kidding me, Y/N?! Why didn’t you tell me that- …”
„I guess I wanted to surprise you?” She faced you when she heard your voice. Her eyes were full of life. They practically screamed: „This is the real home you need!”
„Hell, I missed you so much!” She yelled, hugging you again. You started to laugh, but you were too excited, so it came out more like a trembling moan. You weren’t allowed to cry.
„I missed you too!” You stroked her back until you heard her mother’s voice from inside the apartment. The door was wide open. „Wha-What have you been doing lately?” You swallowed a lump in your throat trying to stay still on you own two feet.
She tried to answer you but Hermione interrupted her from behind.
„Veronica hun’, what was that- …” She stopped when she saw you. „Wait, is this …” Veronica turned her head to her, nodding quickly.
„It’s Y/N mom! Look at her!”
Hermione smiled warmly.
„What are you doing here, dear? It’s so unexpected, I can’t believe you’re back.”
„I needed to come back here. You have no idea how hard it was for me in the last few months …” Veronica held her arm on your upper back. Now you only needed a few minutes. Your friend had to tell you everything that happened while you were away.
„Come in. Don’t stay there, we have pretentious neighbours.” Hermione said. You missed the way she treated you, sometimes she would have been better than your own mother. You entered the luxurious apartment, looking around. Nothing was changed. You've noticed all the things in their place, the couch on which you and Veronica used to fall asleep while watching movies, the glass coffee table, the plants ... Too familiar.
The two women helped you to carry your luggage and immediately afterwards you sat down on the couch. You felt that Veronica and Hermione were fighting about who will be the one to ask you the first question. There had been nothing special in the city where you stayed, nothing to talk about.
„Everyone will freak out when they’ll see you. Tell me, how is it? How’s Houston?” Veronica asked, coming closer by you.
„Horrendous without you guys. I'm so glad I made my parents let me come.” You sighed.
„Ronnie told me about this. How did they agree?” Veronica’s mother asked.
„I think it was a miracle. I begged them like a dog.” You joked. „Only once I can reach my eighteens. If they didn’t want to accompany me, I couldn’t do nothing about it.”
„Don’t think about it, you’re here now. That’s what matters the most.” Mumbled Veronica. Her mother was agreeing. ”We really missed you, Y/N, all of us.” You knew it and couldn’t think about anything else. Your heart was empty without them, you imagined that this place was empty too without you all. After all, your group was the soul of Riverdale.
You turned your head to the dark-haired girl.
„I need to know everything. What happened here?” Although you were worried about the answers you were going to receive, nothing will be the same if you didn’t fiind out. You saw Hermione standing up and telling you she will leave you two alone so you can talk. Being curious, you looked straight into your friend’s eyes. She started with the beginning. You found out that just a few months after you moved away, Jughead’s father was the main suspect in Jason Blossom’s death. When Jughead had told you about him, he believed he couldn’t be guilty of anything. He trusted his father after all, because if he wouldn’t, he would have no one to support him. Veronica’s words scared you because yeah, mr. Jones seemed dangerous but he wasn’t a killer. Plus, when Jason was shot, Jughead’s father worked with Fred Andrews. So it couldn’t be true.
Then, Ronnie started to tell you about the relationship between Jughead and his dad which began to tense when the police was after him. They fought often and Jughead slept for a few days inside the school because he didn’t want to bother Archie anymore. He was destroyed during that time, Archie hardly persuaded him to come back. You imagined a scared, teary Jughead who walked alone on the same streets he was once walking you home on. Your heart skipped a beat.
„Please tell me you took care of him.” You said slowly. Veronica nodded.
„Betty was there for him.” As soon as you heard that sentence, your eyebrows furrowed. You felt shivers on your back. Although you knew that wasn’t her intention, you felt Veronica blaming you, somehow. She didn’t say that it was your fault, it was just the fact that Betty comforted the boy you left behind instead of you. And you weren’t jelous or something, it just … Didn’t feel right. The brunette looked at you cautiously before continuing. Maybe you weren’t prepared to hear her next words. Jughead and Betty were together at some point. You just blinked. Betty was the person who managed to be by his side when you couldn’t.
But you were okay with that.
„It didn’t last long. They broke up after two months.” Continued Veronica. „He thought he could see her the way he saw you.”
„How do you - …” How did Veronica know about Jughead's feelings towards you? He wouldn’t tell anyone, he waited until the last moment to tell you.
„He told us but Archie figured out the first.” You remembered the way they would tease you about how you and Jughead were acting in each other’s company. You would’ve smiled if you weren’t worried. „’You alright?” Ronnie asked you.
„I think so. It’s nothing.” You said. As long as you were concerned, things got a bit out of control, you understood that when you realized it was still not sure who Jason’s killer was. Even without you, your friends were trying to find out. Someone was lying and the Blossom family didn’t know what to do.
„I mean, how, Veronica? It’s been a year!” You exclaimed trying to find an appropriate answer in your head.
„It’s complicated. Everyone tell us that.”
Everything was complicated. When you wanted to come back, you were expecting that. You felt that overwhelming sensation again. The negative energy ruled every corner of your body but you welcomed it back with pleasure. If your mom and dad would fiind out what you have found out tonight, they would probably be here within an hour to take you back to Houston. Were you happy feeling so uncertain?
„Tomorrow’s the day. Betty, Archie and Jughead need to know you are back.” After a few minutes when the atmosphere was quiet, your friend's voice was heard. You did not have the strength to retaliate after all you just heard. Your birthday was in two days and you still had things to do. You were supposed to get ready for seeing him again.
That night, after you talked a bit with Hermione too, you slept with Veronica in her king-size bed. The Blossom’s red hair appeared in front of your eyes everytime you’d close them. You almost felt everything Jughead felt when he was alone, barely able to fall asleep.
„Don’t worry, Y/N. You have to feel good. Don’t ruin your time here.” Veronica also told you.
„I’m fine. I know it’ll be fine.”
*
The next morning Veronica woke you up early so you could dress. She had spoken with Archie and he had invited her to take breakfast at his place. You felt tired but it couldn’t compare to the butterflies you felt in your stomach knowing what yo were about to do. Jughead’s face popped up inside your head. You couldn’t wait to open your arms and let him hug you. Or you would be the one to hug him? It didn’t really matter as long as you were about to feel him that close again.
„C’mon.” Veronica said, opening the door for you. You said goodbye to Hermione, the you stepped out of the apartment, following your friend.
„I am so nervous.” You said, as the road shortened and you were getting closer to Archie's home.
„Well, I’m excited.” Ronnie clapped. You tried to calm down your emotions but it wasn’t possible. You imagined Jughead and Archie, you imaged how Archie’s house looked like and before you knew it, Veronica tried to make sure if she could knock on the door or just enter the house without any announcement.
„Breathe.” She whispered to you once you two stepped in. Before you could say something more, she screamed. „Archie, I’m here!” You tried to stop her but you couldn’t. Then, you heard footsteps approaching.
„You’re right in time.” Your redhead's voice was thicker than usual. „The pancakes are- …” But when he saw you, it seemed like his voice vanished.”Y/N?!” You tried to smile as innocently as you could.
„Surprise!” His mouth was already wide open. He slowly approached you as if he was afraid you would disappear.
„No freaking way.” You heard him say. You felt his strong arms wrapped around your waist immediately. You tried to look at Veronica and meeting her gaze, you saw her mouthing an „I told you.”
„Oh my God, Archie.” You murmured. You felt he was beyond surprised.
„Are you real? I thought you would never come back …”
„I’m here. One hundred percent real.” You assured him, patting his back. „It’s my birthday tomorrow. I wanted to be here.” He looked at you and for a second, you really thought he was about to start crying. You couldn’t imagine a crying Archie, instead, you wanted to cry so bad. „I miss- …” You tried to speak, but he suddenly grabbed your hand. You got through the hallway to the kitchen where you smelled the old delicious pancakes with maple syrup. Then, as if it was a dream, you saw one well-known figure.
You started shaking. Your chest was tightening.
„Hey, Jug?” Archie called him. He turned his head to him but he didn’t notice you at first. Just a minute later, he froze.
„Jughead.” You breathed. If Archie and Veronica wouldn’t be watching you right now, you probably would have gone to him and attacked his lips in a well-deserved kiss. You were as speechless as he was. He didn’t say a word. Instead, you saw him approaching you. He looked you deep in the eyes and touched your cheeks with his palms. His eyes were watery. No. Please Don’t.
„Y/N?” Your name fell out of his mouth as a weak whisper. He was still wearing his beanie, but this time it was a different color. You hugged him tightly and you whined into his chest.
„I’m sorry.” You told him. You still felt extremely guilty. You didn’t want to hurt him anymore. You wanted to feel him happy. As happy as he was never before.
„Don’t say that. It wasn’t your choice.”
You leaned your forehead to his.
„Guys?” You almost forgot about the boy and the girl who were awkwardly standing behind you two. Archie talked first.
„I’ll call Betty.”
Jughead stepped back and looked at you in owe. You wished he would’ve kiss you without shame. You couldn’t say that loud, though.
Exactly like that, you enjoyed the presence of your old friends all day long. It honestly felt surreal. After so long, you were seeing them again. And when Betty arrived and saw you standing there, you couldn’t handle it anymore and started to cry while you hugged her. They grew up too. You even noticed a small scratch on Jughead's cheek, and when you asked him about it, he told you that Archie had mistakenly hit him with the joystick in the face when he lost a round at his favorite video game.
„You silly.” You said, giggling.
Everythig was perfect. You didn’t even dare to ask about Cheryl and her family because you didn’t want to ruin anything. Your friends were incredibly enthusiastic about your returning because they wanted you to have the best birthday ever. Jughead held your hand whenever he had the chance and he didn’t even care if the others were watching you, not even Betty. You felt sorry for her because it was, after all, her ex-boyfriend. She wasn’t bothered at all, she was happy that you were around. You didn’t feel how time passed and before you knew it, looking out the window, it was already dark outside. Until now you’ve been around and at Pop’s with your friends, then you stood in front of the highschool and talked about every possible thing. You also visited Archie's dad, who was surprised to see you; he was in the middle of a phone call and started babbling when he saw you. You wanted to laugh but you didn’t, though.
Right now you and Jughead were on your way to his dad’s trailer. You needed some time alone with him, and around Archie, Betty and Veronica you couldn’t get your plan done. Your hands were intertwined, you felt something strange in your stomach.
„This day was simply amazing. Thank you for welcoming me back this way.” You said.
„Stop thanking us, Y/N. Everyone’s glad that you’re back.” You felt Jughead’s big thumb brushing over your palm. „Will you leave again?” He then asked, in a low tone.
„I have to.” You answered. You wouldn’t want to leave but you couldn’t stay. Your parents would lock you in your room forever.
You two enjoyed the silence until you arrived and noticed that Jughead’s father didn’t seem to be around. You stood outside. It was hot and the wind was blowing slowly. You leaned your back against the trailer and looked up to the sky.
„Jughead?” He looked at you while his arms were crossed to his chest. „Are you okay?”
„I am.” He nodded. But you didn’t mean that.
„No, are you okay?” You became serious bitting the inside of your cheek. You watched him coming near you. He sighed.
„Yes, Y/N. I am.” You wanted him to tell you how horrible he felt without you, you wanted him to blame you and you wanted him to be angry at you. He wasn’t. He was just enjoying your company. You were an awful person, you knew that.
„I heard about you and Betty.” You spoke out of blue. In a few seconds, he turned his head towards you.
„Does that bother you? Because- …”
„Jughead relax. It’s okay, I’m okay with that. Don’t worry.”
Silence.
„You know …” He started. „I never stopped thinking of you. Like it only felt right when I was with you.” You felt your throat dry. Your lower lip was already between your teeth and something was devouring you on the inside. You turned your head to him and caught his sad expression. You opened your mouth but no words came out. Before you could figure it out, the space between you and the Jughead began to shrink. In the next moment, it happened.
His lips stuck to yours as if they were simply meant to be there. Something exploded inside of you. You whimpered instinctively driving your hand to his cheek. Your body pressed more against the trailer behind you while you two kissed deeply and truly. It wasn’t a tongue kiss, it could’ve been just as passionate. You slowly raised your hands up to the end of his beanie and squeezed the little dark hair which was stuck out. You felt him trembeling in the kiss and you knew it was too much for him. But he wouldn’t stop, for you. He pressed his chest to yours and you felt his heart beating. You melted, then and there.
You didn’t know you had your eyes closed until you opened them to look at him while he slowly interrupted the beautiful kiss. He licked his lips, shy and you smiled.
„You have no idea how good is to know that my father isn’t here now.” He murmured, looking at you with such loving eyes. You didn’t expect him to be like that.
How amazing he was.
„I like you too, Jug.” You whispered, somehow scared that he would just shut you off.
„I knew I would see you again.” He answered, smiling softly. „I don’t want you to leave again, Y/N.” He confessed, staring at the wet ground.
„I don’t want that either.” When you thought about that, you made yourself sad. You didn’t want to be sad at this moment, you just had the most beautiful kiss in your life. The first kiss that really felt that real. Jughead was always real, he was here all this time, he still was. How unbelievable it was, it was true.
„I think it’s midnight.” You felt his hand reaching to yours again.
„Maybe …” You said feeling empty.
„Happy birthday, Y/N.” Your smile, though it was not as big as it should’ve been, it was there. You wanted to push everything away, every bad thought, every cry for help … You just wanted him. You felt your head being turned to him again, this time for him to kiss you for the second time. He hugged your frame with so much care that you could’ve even break into his arms as well, because he would have stick together all of your pieces, all of your parts. It was hard to attach by someone when you knew very well that you both get hurt in the end.
But what if this wasn’t your end?
It’s here! This is the last part of „Why Now?” imagine. I really hope you’ll like it, I already like to write stuff like this for you. What do you think about it? ’Hope it's not too sad or something, usually I can handle to write sad stuff, I like it. Thank you so much for your reblogs and hearts, it really means a lot to me! And if you ever want to talk don’t hesitate to give me a message. Or ask me a question. Both are okay. Thank you for reading!

'Spider-Man: Homecoming': A Thank-You From a "Nerd School" Alum

'Spider-Man: Homecoming': A Thank-You From a "Nerd School" Alum
Ciara Wardlow is a student at Wellesley College, a Heat Vision contributor, and a 2014 alum of a math and sciences high school she lovingly refers to as “a nerd school.”
When I saw the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming, I had two major takeaways. The first was, “Wow they are young—dear lord I’m old” (thankfully, a comforting Google search later that evening informed me that they merely looked younger than me). The second was, “Wait, does Peter Parker actually go to nerd school?!”
Let me make one thing clear right off the bat — I say “nerd school” with all love. You see, I went to nerd school — the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy, or, in the words of WIRED magazine, “Hogwarts for Hackers.”
While most of the Internet was debating the necessity of yet another Spider-Man reboot (“Three in the past ten years is ridiculous.” “But he was so much fun in Captain America: Civil War!”), I was quite curious — even cautiously optimistic — about how Homecoming would portray the high school experience. Popular culture has an obsession with high school that I generally find a little strange (I mean, the typical review of the real-life high school experience is “would not do again, even for money, zero stars”) — and irritating. Despite all the film and TV shows centered around those four years, the range of characters they explore in those projects is, frankly, abysmal. The same social hierarchies, the same 15 stock characters (about half of whom can be traced back to John Hughes), the same checklist of scenes that seemingly must be included.
Having talked with people who went to all sorts of high schools — private, public, Catholic, day schools, boarding schools, STEM schools, art schools, you name it — or interacting with my younger sister, currently in high school (a different one than I went to) and having a completely different high school experience than I did, I’ve come to the conclusion that the one constant is that it’s a weird time, but a million different flavors of weird. So why do 95 percent of high school movies return to the same 5 percent or so of what’s available?
Both previous cinematic iterations of Spider-Man start out in high school, because it’s Spider-Man, and anything else would be sacrilege. Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker is depicted as a “science nerd” type at Midtown High — a one-scene wonder of a place that manages to be as emblematic of early 2000s popular culture’s idea of the high school experience as an Avril Lavigne song — never shown doing any actual science. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker is first introduced primarily as more of a photographer (when we first meet him as a teenager, he’s carrying a camera and asked by two separate characters to take a picture), skater boy (attempted) protector of the small type.
Both characters are weighed down by tired teen movie cliches and actors whom, in spite of their talents, look like Hollywood “teenagers” (aka 20-somethings with backpacks) instead of actual high school students.
But if my 15-year-old little sister introduced me to a boy who looked and sounded like Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and said, “Hey Ciara, this is my boyfriend,” I wouldn’t think anything of it except maybe to give her two thumbs-up or something equally embarrassing because that is my sisterly prerogative; if she did the same with the equivalent of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfields’ Peter Parkers, I would drag her away forcibly for her own good, with flashbacks to Matthew McConaughey’s character from Dazed and Confused playing in my head. Of course, I do realize that Tom Holland is actually my age instead of hers, but he really pulls off 15. Not Riverdale type “15” (come on, think about it, the show would be five kinds of creepy if they actually looked the age they were supposed to be). Actual 15. I mean, just think of the mustache they glued on him in The Lost City of Z to try to make him look not 15. And his behavior as Peter Parker — from the phone video diary the film opens up with to the way he interacts with his friends and Aunt May — reminds me of various encounters with my sister who actually is that age, so I feel qualified and comfortable giving that a seal of authenticity as well.
Homecoming is, in many ways, an homage to teen movies. Even if you cut out the Ferris Bueller suburbia chase scene, Homecoming practically oozes John Hughes, but without being John Hughes Rip-off #1005, because Homecoming isn’t stealing its characterizations from the Hollywood’s Idea of High School playbook. Sure, there might be aspects of certain characters that are very familiar, but not repetitive — and switching the setting to a nerd school with a different type of social hierarchy is a huge help. Instead of a poor John Hughes copy, Homecoming is the nerdy teen superhero movie John Hughes never made.
And just as the high school experience is not a monolith, neither is the nerd high school experience. But there are a few sure things: no nerd school ecosystem can support the machismo jock type, even if you have an individual there who would fit the bill in a more traditional high school environment. For one, you might not have the sports teams available to inflate their ego. I don’t think it’s explicitly stated whether or not Midtown School of Science and Technology has a football team, but my alma mater IMSA certainly doesn’t — and yes, you can totally have Homecoming dances without football. Secondly — and this is the really important one here — you just can’t pull off “dork” or “nerd” or “geek” as an insult when you go to a school with “Science” in the name. It’s like making fun of someone for wearing a blue shirt while also wearing a blue shirt.
Now, Homecoming has gotten some heat for making Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori) smaller than his cinematic predecessors and a member of the Academic Decathlon team instead of some jock with a ball that he could use to concuss mathletes or something, but that sort of choice is incredibly important to maintaining a believable nerd school atmosphere. STEM school teenagers are still teenagers. They can still be bullies, and make fun of people for dumb things — like having a name that is a somewhat outdated euphemism for a certain part of male anatomy — and for flimsy reasons that usually stem from their own insecurities (because, you know, they’re teenagers). They’re just probably not going to get into a fistfight in the hallway. The choice to make Flash a non-athletically inclined but highly jealous and insecure frenemy type also frees Homecoming from requiring yet another Flash/Peter showdown. “But I wanted Peter Parker to humiliate Flash Thompson in a fight on school grounds!” some of you might say. Well, Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man already gave you two to pick from. Don’t be greedy.
It’s the details of Homecoming that soothe the tiny corners of my soul that repeat exposure to the remaining 99 percent of Hollywood depictions of high school have left in a near-permanent state of irritation. It’s the moment where Ned (Jacob Batalon) has a brief encounter with the chess team, who are just kids playing chess who happen to notice Ned creeping through the halls after class and wonder what he’s doing, as opposed to twitchy mole-people in need of a good scrubbing and a visit from the social skills fairy. It’s how the snarky Michelle Jones (Zendaya) clearly cares more about her books than her appearance but still remains you know, hygienic, and acts aloof as a defense mechanism in spite of clearly caring about the people in her social circle (been there, done that, got the T-shirt). It’s all these little things in Homecoming and more that had me leaving the film with a goofy grin on my face; little things that I had been looking for in every depiction of high school I had seen on a screen since being in high school myself, only to come up empty-handed until now.
Of course Homecoming is not a documentary. For example, even if Peter Parker is one of the most brilliant minds to have ever lived and can walk into his exams in every class without so much as five minutes of preparation and get perfect scores on all of them, putting in zero work outside of class — especially with the whole five stolen backpacks thing, which would also suggest five occasions of losing any and all notes, assignments and books in said backpacks — would land him in even hotter water than the film suggests. But at least the film shows him, even if only for a brief few seconds in montage, actually doing work in classes, and not just when the subject of the class serves the plot of the film, but because he’s a high school sophomore and that’s what high school sophomores do. And the film also doesn’t do the thing where it says that he’s that sort of model student who turns in all his assignments on time and actually writes multiple drafts of essays, but actually shows him doing just about everything else in the world but actual homework — perhaps the one thing that teen movies do that, more than anything else, makes me want to hulk out into a green rage monster and smash things.
As someone who was a nerdy teen and spent my teenage years surrounded by fellow nerds, I went into Homecoming hoping to see a depiction of a nerdy teen with superpowers surrounded by other nerdy teens that rang true to my personal experience. And I left very happy.
