Hello, I hope you are having a good day. I was just wondering how Nack/Fang would react if he heard/was given the same speech Pip Bernadotte got from his grandfather in Hellsing Ultimate?
I ask this because they are both mercenaries, but have very different views on the job. You can find it by searching "Hellsing Ultimate - Pip Bernadotte: The Essence of a Mercenary" on Youtube.
Apologies if these sorts of requests are not allowed, but either way, I hop you have fun with it and enjoy yourself! Take care!
I'm a few days late answering this, forgive me! I've not been around here much.
Before I answer, I'm going to preface this with a bit of honesty : writing Fang true to how I really want to doesn't line up with how modern fandom wants him to be. A lot of people in the Fang tag prefer a lighter, softer, easily redeemed and less messy character and found even his portrayal in recent official media to be too "mean" or "evil" for them to stomach.
No shade unto people who think like that, but it's a big part of why I packed up and left this fandom. The stuff I made up here for this blog, about his big ol' nasty mama and other elements, are being reworked into an OC of mine, so I'm answering based more on a canon portrayal of the character!
(Also - I LOVE Hellsing Ultimate, thank you so much for this ask! If you're still poking around this blog, lemme know what you think of this response, yeah? I'm not here often but I'll see it more likely than not!)
So, after giving it some thought, here's my answer:
Within canon, we know very little about Fang. He's selfish, arrogant and a bit of a coward, and we love him for it! But there's not a whole lot going on beyond that; SEGA changed his moniker from Fang the Sniper to Fang the Hunter, which is understandable. A lot of the rougher edges his characterization had came from outward sources like ye olden archie comics and the fleetway comics, each with their own vision of the character.
For the current portrayal we see in more recent media, however? I envision that Fang as not really being someone capable of murder. Not because murder isn't permitted within the Sonic media - several characters have been killed by others (and usually, but not only, come back some way or another) -- but because Fang is very clearly meant to be a much lighter, softer villain for the series.
I don't envision canon Fang as someone who actually can kill another person, at least not intentionally. Harm them? Sure! I can envision him, at the darkest, letting his anger get the better of him and things going too far and that someone dying wouldn't have been his intention -- and in that scenario, I imagine he'd be very uncomfortable and want to get away from the scene. Put as much distance between himself and his guilt as he imagines is possible but still being pretty shaken up, even if he tries to hide it behind a veneer of not caring, saying they had it coming, that it was their own fault, etc.
So Grandpa Bernadotte's speech would make him itchy and uncomfortable, but he's gonna do his best not to show it. I can definitely imagine him working with a villain who shares that character's mentality, then realizing waaay into the plot that the guy's dead serious about trying to kill Sonic & co and pulling a last minute jump to help the heroes get the upper hand. He would, still, in the end try to make this profitable for him in some way and either be stopped by the heroes, or would leave the story empty handed and huff that they'd better not get used to him helping out like this.
Fang is a fun character in canon because there's always been a bit of push and pull between him being a more serious threat, and comedic relief. My favorite versions of him strike a balance between the two - the closest to an ideal portrayal I ever got was his appearance in the post-reboot Archie Sonic arc called Champions! I suggest giving it a read if you haven't -- sure, he gets his ass handed to him, but until he got very suddenly interrupted, he did briefly have both Sonic and Knuckles lined up in one shot with his rifle.
Bit of rambling under the cut-
I hard disagree with people who soften Fang up and make him a softboi or sand down his few rough edges - at the end of the day, he's selfish, immature, impulsive and dismissive of others feelings. Those are delightful character flaws, and to pretend that his insufferable hubris and arrogance and lack of empathy aren't traits of his is to do the character a huge disservice.
Just the same, I don't really envision him on quite the same level of evil as Mimic the Octopus. Since Fang's debut in Triple Trouble, he's been characterized as a clumsy, greedy little worm and I love him being the pathetic bastard that he is.
He's a flawed, whiny brat who throws a fit and blames everyone but himself when things go wrong. He loves his bike perhaps a little too much. He's obsessed with himself and wants his ego stroked whenever possible, but does very little to earn the praise he thinks he deserves.
But at the same time, for the same reasons, I don't see him as a main, serious villain. He's an antagonist for sure - he sucks! He's mean and selfish and a bully and an asshole and he absolutely would leave the heroes to rot in perilous situations at the drop of a hat. He'd betray you and me for a dollar. The irony is that while he calls Bark and Bean "mooks", he himself is one - he's a bad guy, but he's never going to rise up beyond that goofy temp henchman status himself. He ain't in the big leagues, no matter how much he wants to believe it.

I hate the new notion of portraying Sonic as evil because he doesn't go around solving every little inconvenience that someone might potentially face
We went from "Sonic needs to do a better job ensuring the villain won't come back" to "Sonic is intentionally letting villains run wild because of his own selfish amusement" to "Sonic is a piece of shit because he didn't erase all suffering from existence"
I guess saving multiple civilizations/worlds/dimensions from being destroyed or enslaved by lunatics isn't enough anymore. Somehow it might as well be Sonic's fault that Eggman goes around committing extreme acts of terrorism.
"The world would be better without Sonic as the hero" is such a dumb conclusion because who's gonna stop Eggman and all the other nutcases running around with apocalyptic levels of power? I guarantee someone like Lanolin can't take down a Death Egg or monsters that eat existence itself.
Okay sure bad things happen even though Sonic is around. Even MORE bad things would happen if Sonic wasn't around to stop villains from continuing their onslaught. Why are we suddenly expecting absolute perfection from a character who has always been portrayed as some dude who just so happens to have awesome powers?
I guess saving multiple civilizations/worlds/dimensions from being destroyed or enslaved by lunatics isn't enough anymore. Somehow it might as well be Sonic's fault that Eggman goes around committing extreme acts of terrorism.
That's the part that gets me - pinning all of this moral quandary on Sonic is ultimately just another way of downplaying Eggman's role in his crimes, just like how "Sonic lets Eggman go" only works if you completely ignore Eggman's uncanny talent for survival. It's not Eggman's fault for wrecking shit, it's Sonic's for not playing janitor thoroughly enough.
It's cynicism. Plain and simple.
"Sonic vs. Eggman is not only old hat but it results in untold suffering and Sonic should reckon with that" - okay but imagine saying that about Mario with a straight face.
"OMG MARIO ONLY REACTS TO BOWSER AND DOESN'T CONSIDER THE SUFFERING OF THE COMMON TOAD WHEN HE WAHOOS ACROSS LAVA TO SAVE PRINCESS PEACH" like come the fuck on, you cannot be serious. Are you pulling my leg right now? Lmao and they say we take Sonic too seriously.
When you pare down these arguments to their core idea - usually just pretty rhetoric saying "Sonic games suck because they're ~~inconsistent~~," in so many words - it really starts to sound like people's problem is that Sonic and Eggman aren't psychic.
Sonic cannot know the full extent of the suffering Eggman's schemes cause on a global scale, therefore it means he doesn't care. Portraying it as a moral failure to throw the trolley switch sounds an awful lot like "Eggman can't plan because he isn't psychic and cannot account for every possible fluke ahead of time."
Yeah no shit Flynn, Project Shadow was classified top-secret. Obviously Eggman couldn't have known what it was until he stormed Prison Island and saw it for himself. Were you expecting him to know this information before he had any reason to?
---
"The world would be better without Sonic as the hero" is such a dumb conclusion because who's gonna stop Eggman and all the other nutcases running around with apocalyptic levels of power? I guarantee someone like Lanolin can't take down a Death Egg or monsters that eat existence itself.
The argument seems to be that Sonic isn't a perfect hero and IDW is doing us all a service by giving him flaws and failures allegedly not provided by the games. The writers "aren't allowed" to portray Sonic losing because muh Sega mandates, so they're making Sonic lose on a more metaphorical battlefield: the battlefield of morality. So it makes total sense now that Games!Sonic's philosophy was always flawed in retrospect.
Omg such scathing meta commentary, truly a fresh new perspective on the series, now I have "official source material" to back my claims that the games suck and have always been inconsistent
And it's like. Okay. And? Lol the games have established that Sonic can be fallible sometimes. Why do folks act like the comic's breaking new ground?
...Oh, but that would entail admitting that the games don't portray Sonic as an uber-perfect Gary Stu who's always in the right. God forbid.

It's really sad how people keep going after your group just because you defend yourselves
Apparently, the statements "I'm generally content with the quality of my personal stories" and "I spot many issues with this comic" justify getting spammed with graphic death threats and ableist insults
Yet it's insisted that you're the ones who are too harsh? It's straight up unfair.
Who would have thought that a group of people might occasionally get upset after being crucified and ridiculed by countless strangers?
Funny how they NEVER have a justification beyond "well shut up no one wants to hear you"
Somehow, it's always YOUR fault that a part of the fandom goes rabid whenever someone doesn't conform to the current "right" opinion, and YOU'RE to blame for THEIR ungodly behavior. That doesn't make any sense, does it?
This fandom is vain and abhorrent to the nth degree and y'all deserve better. That's all I wanted to say.
Par for the course, innit. They'll lash out at us. They'll hand out death threats. They'll make disgusting ableist comments about my autism, and similarly terrible comments towards my friends. They'll threaten to bomb SEGA HQ and stick Iizuka's head on a pike, among other wild declarations of violence. But don't you dare make a goofy meme about Surge not living up to her hype. And whatever you do, don't even think about criticising the unprofessional antics of the IDW crew. What are you, a monster?
They dismiss us as insignificant one minute, then fearmonger so hard that they see fit to give us a boogeyman-esque moniker the next. I'd be surprised if they could walk in a straight line without contradicting themselves.
As for "You talk so much about your fics!" ...No shit. I'm a guy with a blog. This isn't a movie production with a budget, I don't have a team or advertisements backing me up. And unlike fanartists, I don't have my own art to catch people's attention. I kind of have to talk about my writing in order to get it out there and inform people of its existence, and while I try not to sound too much like an unskippable YouTube ad, what else am I supposed to do? Upload them silently and then never refer to them again? How is showing passion for my work any different from official creators showing passion for theirs? Just because fanfic tends to get less attention on here than fanart doesn't mean it's not worth sharing, do they want fandom to flourish or not?
When I compare my work to a certain comic, I do it to highlight the dissonance. If fanfic writers - plural, not just myself - can understand the importance of keeping the characters recognizable, and making the universe faithful despite any necessary differences, then what excuse do official writers who have been involved with the series for over a decade have? If someone who doesn't even love Sonic that much compared to other characters, finds him annoying and unfunny half the time (no, not just in the Pontaff games, in general), and even finds it a pain in the ass to write for him at times and has more fun writing other characters because of this, can still attempt to write what made him appeal to fans... why do writers who supposedly love him so much keep fumbling so hard with him?
I compare for the sake of highlighting why these off-kilter portrayals are so easy to spot. If Sonic Twitter only gets "He's just stroking his own dick" from all of that, then they haven't been paying attention.
The most ironic thing about it all is that they've only gotten more vitriolic as most of us have mostly moved on from the height of IDW discourse (cause the comic goes in circles at this point, and is very likely to be running on fumes due to IDW's financial troubles, so there's no point). Yeah, I'll still criticise it now and then, and make a meme on occasion, but I rarely make lengthy ted talks about it or participate in ongoing Lanolin Is A Bitch/Silver Is Uwu-ified/Whisper Is Trauma Bait/etc back and forths anymore, because it's just tiring now. And since most current Sonic stuff has been putting me off in general, combined with growing fatigue and frustration at not being able to criticise certain games without people waving the finger at me (especially SA2, since the Year of Shadow has made it the center of attention yet again...), I've took a step back from intense Sonic discussion to focus on Stellar, as well as other fandom projects, like my recent brainstorming for Paper Mario or: How I Learned To Insert Eggman and Love The Vivian™.
In no way can you say I've been up in their faces as of recent. Yet they continue to cry otherwise, because they want people like me gone completely.

What I like about the Chaotix is how their found family works especially given their age difference as trio. Team Sonics are basically a trio of brothers, Team Dark is basically trio who wouldnt hesitate to do anything bad or morally wrong, and Team Rose is just lovely picnic style friendship. But what makes Team Chaotix is how despite being chaotic, they function well together and not just a comedic trio. One adult, one teenager, and one child together as one happy family.
Espio is the voice of reason and I love his ninja skills but still share the same chaotic personality as them, Charmy fits as a 6 year old yet takes the job seriously even when he is distracted, and Vector suits well as a leader not just his brute strength but his critical mind and there's a video mention that Vector is balance between Espio and Charmy which is why he gets along with both of them than Espio and Charmy yet those two still care about each other even consider to be siblings-like.
My favorite out of the three is Espio because he's not like some of Sonic characters where they are a bit light-headed and instead can shown to have no hesitation towards everyone even not minding his enemies to their doom. My first game is Sonic Rivals 2 and I did like his dynamic with Silver which is shame it was rare for them to interact (Good thing the IDW shows that story with Espio giving a good advice to him) and learning more of about Espio from being a detective to everything makes me appreciate him more. The Metal Virus being one of Espio's best moments from how he is the only one to take down one of the Zetis all by himself yet still carries the spirit from his fallen teammates. Speaking of, it was heartbreaking when he lost both of them and I can't blame him for blaming Sonic the metal virus by letting Eggman free despite the team advice's on imprisoning Mr. Tinker before they end up agreeing. There's also the Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog where his characterization is spot-on with some dorky moments that you forgot that he is a teenager and how he hid himself well from the serious questions that contradicts why Espio is the murderer without showing any suspicious behaviors until the end. That's why he is my favorite out of the trio and even the Sonic cast.
Vector is someone that isn't a stereotype and has both brains and brains, I also like he is an adult out of everyone. I was surprise that most of the cast are teenagers when I got into the fandom and him being an adult makes Vector more special. I also love that he is a dad to everyone from Espio and Charmy to Cream to anyone like how he felt bad for Belle and wanted to cheer her up and the moment about turning the car around is hilarious as he always been through like this all time. And the dorky crush on Vanilla is sweet and cute. His last moment in the metal virus before the infection took over is such a epic action he did, not caring how it affected him before declaring Espio lead detective and the moment he made the hard decision to trapped the almost infected lady to keep others safe is true leadership. He still has some faults but that's what makes him a great leader. Also, love the representation of him dealing with the bills and rent. True adult. By the way, I love how the latest issue shows Vector's crocodile strength something not much shown from Vector's animal biological abilities.
They might be chaotic, but they are not incompetent even Charmy. I can excuse his behavior given he is only a child and will likely improve in the future and he has some strengths like how his flight can flew quicker for any tasks especially how he has the harddrive to expose Clutch and him literally carrying Vector and Espio. (Vector is literally large!) And yes, the latest issue is adorable and funny especially the Vector and Charmy banter. I just hope Sega give him some best moments because out of three, he is underused.
This is why I find the trio deserving of a spin-off rather its comics, cartoons, or even movies because they deserve it. I mean who wants to see them solving mysteries filled with family love and chaotic energy that comes with fights without Sonic by their present.
I absolutely love how you put this! That's exactly it!
And yes, honestly, it would be so fun to have a Chaotix spin off that focuses on them solving cases and mysteries, as well as showcasing each characters abilities. And, as you put it, their family love and chaotic energy.

Emulation and Risk to Big Gamer.
The first question I have is about historical preservation of media. There's thousands of old videos games (most of which are terrible, I won't lie). But the access that we have to them, maybe through not wholey-legal means, sometimes even legal means (some games on steam), they're broken, unplayable without the original hardware, and in many cases the original hardware doesn't exist.
Or in other cases, the original operating systems and firmware.
And in quite a few of *those* cases, the original isn't selling them, or even have plans to do so. And In a lot more, they have to be remastered in order to even see the light of day again.
Games like "Operation Raccoon City" and the original "Fallout" can be purchased off steam, but they cannot be played because the libraries they relied on either don't exist or don't work the same way as they used to, and thus cannot be played without heavy modification and/or emulation.
Games like that on Atari, NES, 3D0, and Sega Master System cannot be played unless you get real lucky at a pawn shop. And often, it's pirates that preserve the software and post them online that is the only reason we have access to them at all.
Or any historical records.
Sure, you're allowed to make player devices, but the legality of putting older games on the hardware standard is iffy to say the least.
Enjoy playing Hyper Markio Bros and Sanic the Hodgepodge on your GamerBro handheld device.
With VCRs and Tape Decks, you used to be able to copy media directly, and that was a legal battery of its own, but in order to ensure that they could continue doing business (without somebody else copying their hardware and playing their games on reverse engineered devices) Companies like Nintendo enabled encryption on their devices so that they could control their own market.
That's probably one of several shrewed business decisions that they're still in the hardware game. And I cannot fault them for that. Sega learned how hard it is to stay in hardware, and PlayStation made the Linux decision.
Well. They made a console that was so unique it became a military supercomputer at a loss to the company. Which is a unique issue on it's own.
And the reason hardware manufacturer don't sell at a loss anymore.
But technology, as always, is always improving on a daily basis, it's only recent that it's been bottlenecked by quarterly profits.
But what does this mean for Big Gamer? It means that, eventually, console manufacturing will become a thing of the past. VCRs weren't limited to Sony after all. And Dell isn't the only company to sell computers.
Console manufacturers may be limited to roles like producers similar to the music industry. Especially since cross-platforming code is easier if the code bases are the same, or at least similar (unlike Apple and Swift)
Not yet, but soon, people will be limited to which devices they are able to buy, and if that device doesn't play your games, there goes your market.

Ok, to start off, I'm sorry for sounding rude. I will admit I was a bit angry when I wrote my reply, and I didn't mean to offend you in any way.
Anyway, to what I want to say
Which sources are these? If it wasn't clear on how Sonic felt about Amy before, it definitely is now, especially considering SEGA's stance on it being much clearer than ever before. We literally have a Valentine T-shirt that features both Sonic and Amy, and I even saw one Valentine tik tok that also featured them by the Sega Officials. I highly doubt this was fanservice, and it was actually legit. Also, if Sonic's really not interested in Amy like that, then all he has to do for her to stop is simply say, "No, I'm not interested." So what's taking him so long? It's been over 30 years, and he still hasn't got it in him to tell her "no"? If hints and signs don't do anything, then naturally, you would go for the second option and tell 'em upright. Amy will not stop until she hears answer.
From what I can remember, Amy has only brought up marriage twice in two games. 1 time with Adventure 2, where she was only pulling his tail when she asked him, and still freed him and told him what he wanted to know, and the second time was Heroes and... yeah, I'll give you that, but otherwise, that's the only two times she has ever brought up marriage. Also, sorry about the "kids" part. It seems I mistook ya for the other commenter that you replied to above.
Also, like I said. Amy is an individual with an endless amount of energy who wears her heart on her sleeve and isn't afraid to express how she feels, especially her love for Sonic, but it is not obsession. I know you don't mean it in the way I assumed, but this is still incorrect. If she was obsessed, then Sonic would all she thought about an unhealthy degree, which is not the case. She has genuine love for him and just loves to let it out to the world to know with no limits. Plus, when she calls herself his girlfriend, he doesn't object to it once.
Also, I didn't say Amy gets frustrated when Sonic runs off. I mean, she just gets annoyed when he leaves without notification. Amy is always happy to follow him to the ends of the Earth, if only if he didn't leave without telling her first. If a relative of yours leave the house and doesn't tell you where they are going or when they'll be back, wouldn’t that leave you feeling some type of way? Amy wants to share an adventurous lifestyle with Sonic and dreams for Sonic to take her with him. Also yeah, no one can keep up with Sonic at his fastest, but not at his usual speed, which is enough for Tails and Knuckles to stay on parr while running with him which we have seen in cutscenes like the Heroes intro.
And yeah, it's no secret that Sonic sucks at romantic advances, and Amy can still somewhat be childish about her love, but it's never anything to be harmful, and sometimes played for comedic effect. But like you said, comedy is subjective, so I ain't gonna fault you for your reasons for being put off by certain moments like Amy threatening to hurt Chris.
Also yes, I am not too happy with her current change either, and I outright hate it when some fans try to cover it up with the lame excuse being "Oh she's developed", or "she's matured" when that's all complete nonsense. There was no development, and they only changed her to appease to those who never liked her to begin with. It's ok to dislike a character, but don't try and change them into something they're not. I absolutely hated how she was potrayayed in Frontiers as she was so drained of life and depressing. I get it was a serious story, but that's still no excuse because even in the most serious, she will still remain cheerful and optimistic. Here, she just gives in to despair, which is obviously not Amy.
Like I said, I have nothing against you for disliking SonAmy, and I can understand your distaste towards it. You're free to ship what you want, but I'm just saying it has been confirmed canon, but not in the traditional sense. They are not in a relationship, of course, but they are in love.
Also, again, I'm sorry for lashing out before. I wasn't directly angry at you, I was just getting frustrated on hearing and seeing the same harmful misconceptions about Amy and her relationship with Sonic.
Me: Posts a Princess Elise and/or SonElise post

"Nice art, but I hate Elise/SonElise"
"They have no chemistry"
"Sonic didn't like her"
"Just why?"
"I hate her"
"Blaze should've had her role instead"
"Amy should've kissed Sonic, Elise stole him from her, Sonic belongs with Amy"
"What you posted is miles better than how she was in 06, she sucks in the actual game"
"She should've just punched Eggman in the face, why didn't she do that"
"Elise is a selfish bitch, she wanted the world to end just because she loved Sonic, and she only blew out the flame because he convinced her to."
"She should've been an anthro instead of a human, that would've fixed everything"
"She has no personality outside of getting kidnapped"
"She's boring"
"Elise is useless"
"Amy/Sonamy is better"

Here what I think about the whole situation: the fact that " Sonic can't cry " is a misunderstanding and I explain because , Sonic can't cry in front of everyone because himself don't like show his tears(grief; sadness;angry etc..) in front of everyone if should cry he would run miles away for cry without let somelse notice as for example in Prime when they have circumvented again this thing when Sonic was moved for the Sea dog also if in a funny way and in fact they've circumvented this thing in a genius way as X has make at his time. For what I've see and understand to this point is : " Sonic can feel hate ; pure angry ; pain ; can cry (also if the brain is shared) but in a sort of limits or at least when nobody watch him " what do you think?
I think that people were spoiled by Archie where Sonic did cry much more liberally, to the point that some panels had to be redrawn, and now they think that Sonic's stoicness is yet another evil SEGA mandate.
Sonic has canonically hated tears since Sonic Jam. Whether is its own tears or the ones of other people we don't know, but both interpretations make sense. Sonic hates seeing people sad, and tries his best to cheer them up; he's also a rather private, introverted person despite his warm personality, so he wouldn't openly weep. Even then, I'm sure that if Sonic Battle had better animation, we would have seen him downright desperate in the ending :( you're really telling me that you didn't feel Sonic's pain just because he didn't have a crying sprite?
Also, not to be that person, but people also forget that Japanese culture is more stoic than the general Western culture. So, maybe don't imply that crying is the most valid way to show emotions?
(you're free to add how Sonic did shed tears once in Sonic X, so even the Japanese writers understand that you can use tears sparingly for greater impact :P)
That's all. Not everything you don't like is because of mean SEGA not making your headcanons valid. Some characters, and some people while we're at it, are just like that.
#sonic the hedgehog#there was a post circulating saying something like 'let shadow be a crybaby'#because sega doesn't want him to be nice or something#it's always sega's fault isn't it#not yours that you're projecting too much#(general you of course)

just to play a little devils advocate for shadow
with canon there are a lot of mandates that people dont like and does kinda contradict his character arc in media like sa2 and sth05
As much as I respect Ian Flynn, he never should have shared that information with the fandom. Now out of context "SEGA said" statements that change constantly are seen as more important than what's shown in actual official media.
And because this fandom LOVES jumping to conclusions, we're stuck with the general consensus that SEGA wants Shadow to be an edgy jerk who hates friendship, doesn't care about anything, and completely forgot about his promise to Maria...even though none of this is supported by Shadow's few recent appearances in canon.
Shadow isn't all sunshine and rainbows, he's not some heroic martyr who grew to love humanity and is best friends with the other characters. Shadow is emotionally closed off, antisocial, he dislikes humans yet is focused on protecting Earth to a fault. He's rude, sometimes violent, has a big ego, and his relationship with Team Dark isn't super close like Team Sonic's. He cares but will only show it through actions, not words.
These uglier aspects of Shadow's personality have always been there, fans just tend to latch on to more "wholesome" depictions of the character like Archie's. There's a lot more to current Shadow than "mean SEGA ruined him with mandates"
#to be clear I don't think Flynn lies about the mandates or purposefuly exaggerates to make SEGA look bad#this isn't that kind of Tumblr blog#some fans are just predisposed to seeing SEGA as incompetent fools who hate their characters#so when told that a character can't do something they just assume the worst#and rarely stop to think about why that rule exists and what it could mean#same with other mandates like Sonic not crying#but that's for another day#shadow the hedgehog#sonic the hedgehog

With the first ark of the idw comic I wanna take a breather and go over it all. Give some more in depth thoughts, I will start to do the same at the end of issues for IDW as well as archie when it gets more actually serious, as well as talk about arks when they end.
The idw sonic comic starts on such a high note, This first ark feels exactly how a sonic story should, great characterization of the main crew, fun action set pieces and quick pacing. It doesn't get too bogged down or doesn't stay for too long. Right off the bat it nails the characterization of sonic and most of his crew which, to me at least, is the most important thing about this comic. I could watch sonic and friends to anything from the extreme to the mundane as long as they are written well. It was also very exciting to see neo metal sonic and metal overlord again. I loved the mr. tinker plot even if I wish we got to spend more time on it and all the original characters introduced slapped.
Rough and Tumble are you usual mooks, the duo that can take a punch but ultimately will get beaten in the end without too much issue. However they are such cool designs (especially a fan of rough's) and are played goofy enough that it's just fun when they show up. They also got that team rock intro and people make fun of them for it. It's a bit I will always love every time.
Tangle is great, it's nice to have a solely action oriented female character who can party alongside sonic. Sure amy is there but amy has more responsibility as well as has a lot of baggage through her history in the franchise, plus you have to worry about romance shenanigans which is kinda exhausting with those two (I have been jerked around with this ship for so fucking long with the will they won't they, just say they if they will or won't already). Tangle is just here to fucking party and I'm super here for it.
Whisper needs a hug, While we are missing most the pieces currently (I'll get into more with the tangle and whisper mini series), she is already a super fun character. She's super cool and I love her design a lot, I can't say much though without talking about the mini series
and Starline my favorite, It's just fun to see a character who's diehard loyal to eggman but not blindly so. While we haven't seen much yet so I won't get too into it, I love how even when starline goes under eggman's nose it's not to double cross or backstab but to hopefully bring him along with him. Sure in litteral outcome this does end up similarly to backstabbing but the context makes it so much more interesting then just "I'm going to stab the main villain in the back."
However it's not all sunshine and rainbows I do have some complaints, Namely with you guessed it Shadow, and trust me I'll have more to complain about as this goes on but for where we currently are I'll say this, he's not totally terrible, his first appearance is actually pretty enjoyable, sonic and his moral conflict feels very in character even if shadows stubbornness to the extreme it's shown feels ooc. However his lack of willingness to actually work with anyone and listen to plans is just so frustrating and contradicts how he acts in other games, like heroes and 06 (I know 06 isn't canon but god damn shadow's characterization is on point and I think looking at it for reference is fine). Now I know that this isn't entirely the writers fault, this is obvious when you look at Even Stanley and compare her writing of shadow in her personal sonic fan comic to the idw comic and it becomes obvious. I've also heard good things about shadows writing on Ians Archie run so it stands for him as well. A lot of the problems can be laid at segas feet as they want him to be this standoffish lone wolf kinda edgy rivil to sonic who cares for nothing but a good fight and that's just not really shadow. It ignores that shadow has made connections with team dark and has this strong mutual respect with sonic. It just makes me dread seeing my favorite character instead of excited. I will say while mandates are the major point of blame here I will say some of this can be layed at the Ian Flynns feet as he's not perfect. This becomes clear as Evan Stanley's writing of shadow is much much better (even if still restrained in this confine of the mandates) Shadow in the Chao race ark is much better than the battle for angle island ark and def metal virus. I'm getting ahead of myself but what I will say is this is my biggest complaint so far with the writing. So far Ian Flynn has done a great job aside from this and it doesn't prevent me from enjoying the comic
also so far all the artist do an amazing job the art in this comic is exilant!

If that is your intention, then I will answer with the facts. But I advise that better word choice is made to not have your words sound so aggressive, such as when you said: "So you see, it doesn't make sense for Sonado to become canon"
Or from saying things that are making incorrect assumptions, such as how I never stated it will become specifically canon or what I think about Amy to others.
Now I will answer your question:
Although Naoto Ohshima worked on Sonic Superstars recently, he already doesn't work for SEGA anymore. He hasn't worked for SEGA for years, just like Shiro Maekawa. And just like Shiro Maekawa (or even other small employees who speak about their personal opinion on things), his opinion in the matter doesn't count towards anything. Ohshima likes Amy personally and is attracted to her because he created her that way. Just because Ohshima helped make Sonic too, doesn't mean that Sonic or even Amy belong to him to have his opinion a fact. He is just someone who used to work for SEGA and did things on commission, you can say. He isn't the company and therefore, he doesn't have a say on how the characters turn out to be like, just like how Takashi Iizuka doesn't have a say either. That also goes for Shiro Maekawa who likes to romantically put Shadow and Maria together despite official content stating they see each other as siblings. These things are up to the company, not these employees, especially employees that don't work for the company anymore and have contradictions to their statements.
Second picture, that magazine has faults in it. There is no proof that they actually went to SEGA to ask this question, there is no proof of who they talked about who answered and they have lied in that same issue because they jumped to conclusions (which was about The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess game). When they state this "answer" from "SEGA" as well, they didn't quote anyone like they did for the other answers on that page. If it was truly real and that person they asked truly had the authority to make that kind of declaration, then a name would have been attached to the answer, but there is no name.
You can see on the page before the page with Amy on it that when asking someone about the Kingdom Hearts II game, a name is listed. That name is Tetsuya. The answer with Amy doesn't have a name like that, though. So it's questionable who exactly even answered the question in the first place. Sonic Team is in Japan, and if someone from Sonic Team was there in America during the time, then there is more than one member in the team. Who exactly answered it?
In the Link answer, they claimed that the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had Link at 16 years old, but that isn't true, which was revealed later by the director for the game where he says that Link is 17 in the game. They jumped to conclusions to think that Link was 16, so they are not always accurate with what they put in this old magazine that is irrelevant and outdated now either way because of how old it is and how times can change.
Here are the pages in full for that section in the magazine:

Third parties like that are not always accurate or something to take as facts. They even got Sonic Team's name incorrect by calling them Team Sonic instead of Sonic Team. There are times things are twisted or lies are made, just like how people can lie about their intentions towards things. If Sonamy was so canon, like I stated in the last answer, then why is it not canon already? Why is it not big news or stated somewhere that they are romantically together? Why is Amy not put as Sonic's actual girlfriend instead of a self-proclaimed one? It is not stated anywhere officially and instead, you have more recent proof showing that Sonic doesn't like Amy romantically, that their relationship is one-sided and so on, as I already said.
So claiming that "there are many evidences that "prove" that Sonamy is canon," is a lie, misinformation and disinformation. There are many evidences that prove the opposite of that, but many don't want to accept it and cling on to old things that are outdated, irrelevant and don't align with the official materials that have been shown for years. Instead, they rather find these small things to validate themselves or "prove" that they are right or okay in shipping Sonic and Amy based on their fan perspective on them, even if it's wrong. That is also why, out of all shipping fans, they are the ones who are known and shown to constantly keep on asking things like: "does Sonic like Amy" or "is Sonamy canon?" so much; it's because they are constantly trying to find something to validate themselves in wanting to ship the two, even if the company already told them multiple times, no.
Another thing to take note of is that this is an English product, not a Japanese one. So who did they ask at the time? Did they go all the way to the Japanese Headquarters just to ask this type of question to them? Were they allowed to even go to the HQ and ask a question and even get an answer back? Or did they go to the American office and ask this question, when they aren't even Sonic Team or the ones who own the series in the first place? There are a lot of holes concerning this "fact" the Sonamy fans like to bring up. There is no actual proof that this is anywhere real or an answer given by someone with authority on the subject. In fact, it is possible the person even lied or gave their own perspective on the situation without consulting others. There's no real way of knowing. But we do have information later that states that this isn't true in the slightest because it has been said multiple times that they are just friends and Sonic doesn't see Amy romantically. Even the games prove this, even if Ohshima wants to claim personally that Sonic is just "running away" by being a "child." When it comes to that, that answer probably has to do with their culture where they believe that as an adult, they just have to accept things and go with someone to create a family since that's what their country pushes for reproduction purposes. That doesn't mean that Sonic likes Amy, though, that just means he is saying that Sonic isn't doing what they think they are obligated to do as adults in their country.
How can one tell the difference between what is what the company wants compared to what employees say personally? One just has to look at the more prominent things compared to the not so prominent things that are of lesser quality. Many things consist of Sonic and Shadow right now, even the movie. The Japanese title for the movie also has the "Sonic x Shadow" title like the upcoming game.

I don't know why you're so obsessed with wanting these things debunked unless it's for the same reason as others who have heard the lies or from wanting to believe personally that Sonamy is somehow "canon" despite the facts. But in the end, like others, you'll think what you want even with the facts presented. So in the end, you'll just think what you want either way, even if it has been said that Sonamy is not canon several times through several people and through several medias.
If that is all you are here to ask for from now on, I ask that you stop asking me and to go research things yourself. If you want to believe in what you want to believe even after all the facts I've presented, then go research things properly, think for yourself, and come to your conclusion.
And since I'm being questioned on employees and what they've said before, I'll also give the full context of what Morio Kishimoto was answering at the time with this picture:

Not many have the actual question he answered, and in this question it asked if Sonic was single or in a relationship with Amy. He states that Sonic is single with the choices given. Then to answer the second part, he questions whether Sonic will get a lover or not and questions what will happen with Amy separately. Then he just states he is interested in seeing what Sonic's love life will be in the future, not that he will have a future love life with Amy. So for the second part, he's basically just saying he doesn't know if Sonic has a love interest or not since he even questions if Amy is considered as one, which he is also implying that he believes that Sonic has no love interest at the moment, not even Amy, but thinks that maybe the future will show him with a type of love. This is his personal opinion.
Many fans sonic say you hate Amy Because you gave Amy a bad reputation and also said that Sonic doesn't like Amy as well ، Is this true
Why do you ask this question in the first place right after trying to ask a question to debunk Sonadow? What is your purpose in asking these questions as someone who is obviously against Sonadow and someone who likes Amy and Sonamy? And to even use a burner account to do this and to even try to intimidate by claiming that "many fans" think like you or what you've said while believing that pressuring us with what people think is going to make us bend to your will.
There are two of us who handle this account, but I am aware of who you're referring to when falsely accusing that this account is one person or that only one is using this account. Which also proves that you are trying to target one of us with your interrogation disrespectfully.
I didn't say to others what I think of Amy, I only speak of the facts that I find about her and her relationship with Sonic throughout my research of the franchise because many constantly lie about her characterization, personality, relationship with Sonic and medias with Amy in it. I'm not "giving her a bad reputation," I am speaking about the facts about Amy.
It is a fact that she:
Demanded Sonic to go on dates with her, even to the point of forcing him to promise her (2021 Calendar Story)
Demanded (or "joked/asked" or assumed) for Sonic to marry her on multiple occasions (Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 manual, Sonic Battle with her saying she thought Sonic would propose to her to Knuckles and by enforcing herself to be Emerl's mother and Sonic the father, Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes)

Has disregarded others in favor of trying to find Sonic or have others help her find him (Sonic Colors DS)
Is disrespectful towards Sonic because she self-proclaims herself to be his girlfriend even though he has said no to her in canon material several times
Sees Sonic as a form of entertainment to satisfy her boredom
Is obsessed and overly infatuated with Sonic to the point of thinking that Sonic can never do any wrong except refusing what she wants from him many times
Has followed Sonic around wherever he has gone for several games, whether he liked it or not
Is touchy with Sonic despite him not liking her touch and despite showing discomfort
She has become violent or "joked" about being violent towards Sonic if she doesn't get her way with him or he doesn't accept her advances/demands
That she is based off of being a Japanese woman as a character that is created in Japan with Japanese creators, who generally are seen in negative light from those who live in Japan because of their abusive personality and actions towards their husbands (and men) after trying to make themselves look good or seem good.
If others think that these facts make her have a bad reputation or look bad, then that's how her official actions in official materials look; that shows that her personality and actions are bad and look bad to others once knowing the official materials.
Does Sonic like Amy romantically? No. Many sources, not just once, already stated that.
Ian Flynn said that in the IDW comics, there is no romance. He said they are one-sided with Amy liking Sonic and that they are just friends.
But even one of her creators, Kazuyuki Hoshino, stated that it was always supposed to be an endless chase. Therefore, they were never meant to be together in the first place and it was always to be one-sided relationship with Amy being the one to like Sonic and Sonic not liking her back.
Other people who state this is how even in Sonic Boom, a writer for the series stated that Sonamy was always meant to be a joke in their series, therefore it never should have been taken seriously.
Sonic Team also uploaded a video of Sonic answering questions, and with that, Sonic said that he only sees Amy as a reliable friend; that there's nothing more between them.
And even with her profile on Sonic Channel, it still states that Amy is a self-proclaimed girlfriend, which means that Sonic doesn't return her "romantic" feelings back and doesn't see her that way to have her actually be a girlfriend, not just a self-proclaimed one.
Other than that, it is already obviously shown in several medias that Sonic is uncomfortable with Amy and that he doesn't want to be in a relationship with her. If this was any other series, no one would question whether Sonic likes Amy or not from just seeing the materials where he (excluding materials from recent corrupt employees that are inaccurate to the faithful materials/lore):
1. Tries to end meet-ups with her as soon as possible if possible (the 2021 Calendar Story)
2. How he doesn't want Amy touching him and tells her to get off of him (Sonic Unleashed and the cover image for the 2021 Calendar Story)
3. Where he leaves her in others care to get away from Amy when possible (Sonic Colors DS and Sonic Battle)
4. Where he even straight out says no to her advances or the thought of being together romantically (Sonic Advance 3)
5. Where he runs away from Amy or when knowing Amy is coming (Sonic Battle like in point 3)

8, 9, 16, 17 :>
(also thank you for the shout-out, and know it's reciprocated <3)
8. you hope more people will come to appreciate ___ (a ship, a trope, an episode, etc)
I hope more people will come to appreciate the canonical portrayal of the character Dr. Eggman, AKA Dr. Ivo Robotnik, from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series created by SEGA and Sonic Team.
Jokes(?) aside, seeing how often the characters get morphed in adaptations, sometimes in a very unflattering way, it's become easier to appreciate the game iterations and understand the full scope of what they're meant to be. I used to not like Sonic very much since I thought he was kind of annoying, and he's still not exactly in my top ten since I still have some gripes with him (hint: deflating serious moments with unneeded snark was a problem long before Pontaff entered the picture), but after how badly IDW and Prime dropped the ball with him, I was able to gain a newfound respect for the nuances Game Sonic has that those versions lack.
So I guess what I'm saying is, even if it requires taking one look at blatant OoC portrayals to do the trick, I hope that in time, it'll become more commonplace for the game iterations to be recognized and respected for what they actually are, rather than be dismissed for not being enough like their more popular, yet less fleshed out versions.
Also, the Superstars soundtrack. Free my boy Speed Jungle he didn't do shit.
9. a ship that isn't your OTP but that you enjoy
I guess the aforementioned Sonelise would count, though I don't mind Sonaze either. Then there's Sonic X The Floor, which goes without saying.
16. a tiny detail in canon that you want more people to appreciate
Being an Eggfan, I don't think enough people give credit to how much of the threat he poses comes directly from his efforts.
Yes, he steals MacGuffins and lets giant monsters run free so he can use them for his gain, but who is it that makes all those robot armies and kaiju-sized mechs? Who is it that does the required research for his schemes? Who is it that comes up with those schemes to start with? Who is it that sees to it that the Death Egg, the Egg Fleet, and all his other grandiose visions come to life? It's not a right-hand scientist that he steals credit from. It's not a hostage forced into making them. It's the man himself.
Eggman is a very self-made type of villain, and it's one of his most overlooked traits. It's also another reason why SatAM Robotnik can't hold a candle to him.
17. the thing in canon that everyone loves and that you also love
Me and the most vocal parts of the fandom rarely see eye to eye, so this will require some thinking for the examples that don't have some kind of catch to them... let's see...
The CD intro and outro.
CD's visual storytelling.
S3&K's visual storytelling.
Chaos being the best giant monster.
Gamma's arc.
SA1 and Heroes' visual style.
Vector ruining a rare unironically good scene in ShtH with "HEY DON'T GO THERE... YET".
Blaze. Aside from the Silver stuff...
The ending to Secret Rings. (Yes, I've called the mountain of handkerchiefs cheesy before. Not my fault the fandom can't tell that calling something cheesy isn't always an insult.)
The intro to Unleashed. Even if it's a bit long.
Music. I love music, you love music, we all love music, right?

It's funny, I used to think Flynn's run on MM was decent if not better than his Archie Sonic run (pre and post-reboot) because it was more 'faithful' to the games. Though I had my issues: Game adapts being condensed into 4-issue format for making graphic novels, the new characters not really offering anything interesting sans *maybe* Tempo and why was hinted at for her stoic personality, and the later run just going all out in referencing/teasing future games the comic hoped to adapt WHEN THEY WERE JUST GETTING INTO MM4 BY THE END. Needless to say I totally forgot what spinbuster posted/explained about that panel and it's continuity snarls because it was that bad. I feel as though the only semi-good thing the Archie MM provided us was the first crossover with Sonic. Despite holding some of Flynn's writing faults, tis a fun romp all things considered. Second one can go rot in obscurity as far as I'm concerned. :P MAJOR example of 'plusing' the first one by adding non-game characters/X and Boom/SEGA-Capcom IPs yet end up 'minusing' it because the bloated cast made it a chore to understand what the hell was going on anymore. Such a mess... -_-
Nowadays if I wanted to read an adapts of Classic MM, there's always my Hitoshi Ariga volumes.
I downloaded the entire run years ago, read it, and completely removed it from my memory. I remember liking it for being somewhat faithful to the first games, but then it spiraled into something I couldn't care about, full of uninteresting OCs and plots that dragged on...
Wait, we're still talking about Archie Megaman, right? Right.
Anyway, I also skipped some parts because at the time I hadn't played the X games, and I hated how much the X run interrupted the Classic run. I suppose that "pacing issues" could describe Archie MM in a nutshell :\
It's interesting how no one really talks about it anymore, isn't it? The Megaman fandom got its fill in the meantime, I suppose. A shame because it started off relatively well, aside from some fan theories pushed forward like Protoman being depicted as a jealous child like The Megas did.
Speaking of which :P
Which is worse? Surge copying a famous line from a character she has no affilations with, or Dr. Light repeating the entirety of the chorus of a fanmade song?
can't wait for idw eggman singing crushing in your thirties

You know, my issue with "X Eggman's not so bad" isn't even that I hate the concept itself. Alternate continuities can do what they want; But X adapts some of Sega Eggman's more depraved actions from the games, like trying to nuke a city, which can't really line up with the softened image they tried to go for. It just makes X Eggman look like a hypocrite at best. Boom Eggman - by contrast - has a consistent vision for being a "nicer" Eggman that isn't inherently contradicting himself.
That's fair.
Still not keen on the concept in general though. A fandom as boneheaded as this one will always insist on acting like Game Eggman and ___ Eggman are one and the same, meaning they'll continue to insist that Game Eggman isn't that bad because of ___ Eggman's portrayal, which ends up souring Game Eggman's credibility as a villain through no fault of his own.
