This is such a hard bit to cap, because I don’t think capping it gets across how silent and otherworldly the whole scene is, because yes, it’s about Marion and Irma fixing up Miranda after she gets her hands whipped, but it’s also, in a larger sense, about women and how women soothe and protect each other against the punishments meted out for difference by the rest of the world, very often by other women. It’s about how communities of women can make the bearing of such things worthwhile.
