#it's actually mind-boggling that people don't see how radical their ending is

I can't believe there are people who think Katniss and Peeta's ending is boring or lame. Two people who were tributes in the same arena TWICE living out their lives together in peace is literally the greatest act of rebellion in the story.

All of this boggles the mind, how possible it all is, to tie everything together and all the bits - in. It's brilliant. But I fear now, what with all these conflicting 'news' from all sides - what happens if they don't get renewal? Do you think they'll leave it all like that, half-resolved? Curse broken, everyone back in EF? And Emma, well - whatever ‘state’ they leave her in? I mean, what if we never get an explanation (and you - confirmation) of where it was all really going to go?
I really still think it’s more likely than not they’re getting renewed at least for season 7. I mean, if you read the interviews with Channing Dungey specifically, the concerns I read between the lines is that their show concept only covered 7 seasons. It’s fairly unusual for US tv to write with an ending in mind, but it really seems to be the case for them. They could either stretch it out and run into the same problem later or reinvent it with a new focus and keep going. So to me the challenges in the negotiations seem to be… more about season 8 and having potential renewals beyond than about season 7. They needed to pitch a new concept first, then based on that concept, new contracts would have to be negotiated for season 7 and beyond. While I do believe some people are leaving or will become guest stars, I don’t think - based on the story - that Jennifer Morrison would be one of them. After that, sure.
I know it’s a business and I’m aware that money plays a role, so technically yes, they may have to radically change their plans if people want out for whatever reason. That being said, I have heard Jennifer Morrison say plenty of things that give the impression she wouldn’t just abandon this character?
The story structure is based on the Hero’s Journey. She has tweeted and talked about Joseph Campbell’s books and how everyone should read them if I remember correctly. She knows what’s up. We’re not at the end of Emma’s journey yet. We’re at the point before resurrection, so it even makes narrative sense they want us to believe  Emma will die. I can’t imagine portraying a character for such a long time and not wanting to take it home, especially if you’re aware of this structure. She seems to care about story. Reads, directs, shares favorite films and books. When asked what the most underappreciated thing about the show was during a cast interview, she was the only one to mention the writing.
“I think people don’t realize what it takes for the writing team and Eddy & Adam to really get to the bottom of the storytelling. They’re crossing over all these fairy tales and characters from literature.. and, and, and, and, and… and they weave them all together and they’re keeping it all straight. They’re doing it in a way that has this Joseph Campbell-esque vibe to it where there’s mythology that runs much deeper and there’s psychology that runs much deeper. They don’t do anything on accident. It’s something that I think is so tricky and could be so poorly done and they do such a great job of it. So I think sometimes - You know, we do have really passionate fans and it’s amazing, but I don’t think people necessarily take a step back and go ‘Wow’, what does it really take for the writers to piece this all together and build this from the ground up.” [x]
Jennifer Morrison
…and this was this summer, after the Dark Swan arc. I’ve seen people quote other interviews to prove she is unhappy, but this to me sounds like it’s coming from a place of understanding what she’s part of and respecting it, not because someone is holding a PR gun against her head. So sure, plans could change, but right now I don’t see any real reasons to think they won’t at least get a season 7, you know?
If they really end up canceling now, I would imagine they could maybe get away with creating at least some sort of epilogue episode? I don’t see them just ending it with a broken curse. We need the aftermath, a test of the lessons learned on the journey. We need to come back to the ordinary world and adjust to it again along with Emma.
…and about getting an explanation or a confirmation. For me personally, I am not expecting some moment of confirmation. I watch the show and I see the shadow story in real time now. Not that I can figure out every metaphor right away, but enough for it to make sense and be coherent. I have confirmation for myself already, if that makes sense? It would really be about having a moment that makes other people consider what I’m saying is right. There are too many things that just add up and while I may have a vivid imagination, I actually second guess myself a lot as part of my process. I’m not saying all my claims are right, absolutely not, but there are some core concepts that the show hasn’t made me question since I came to those realizations.
