@newyearknwwme yeah, it's six months aka pretty much the entire autumn and winter. those are the darkest months of the year
in austria the clock is set back for an hour on the last sunday of october (the clock jumps from 2:59am to 2am) and then set forward an hour on the last sunday of march (the clock jumps from 1:59am to 3am)
you get used to it fairly quickly, it's just really annoying twice a year. and for some people it throws off their rhythm (not for me luckily)
the most annoying thing about it for me is that winter time makes the sun go down even earlier than it already is. so sunset is between 4 and 5pm in december when we could have it between 5 and 6pm instead
and yeah technically it's supposed to give you an hour of daylight more in the morning, but lbr who even needs that in the 21st century????? people are either still asleep or they're sitting in school or an office or whatever and we've got electricity and lamps for those now!!!!! and for a lot of people it's still dark when they leave the house in the morning anyway. and then when they get off from work it's also dark, like how depressing
if it were up to me i'd abolish daylight savings and just stay in summer time year round bc i think it's much nicer to have some last bit of daylight left when you get out of your class or leave work or whatever it is that you do. who needs daylight when you can't even go out and enjoy it bc you're trapped in a school/office/idek what building lbr
