Help I Accidentally Made My DnD Antagonists Operational Security Too Professional And Now I've Written Myself Into A Hole - a tale in furious brainstorming for solutions
#if you're one of my players and you see this no you don't#one solution is of course to make some npcs stupider#but I've already made a good few of them pretty damn stupid so I think more would be pushing it a bit#ALAS that the only real way you'd realistically find this information is through half a year monitoring trade and also some bribery#deus ex machina it is?#it's about the VERISIMILITUDE though about MAINTAINING THE ILLUSION that this is a world which operates on a followable logic#and that through following the logic the players can enact stuff#and that things don't just happen for plot convinience#even though while I do my best to follow the rules of like. cause and effect. things very much do happen for plot comvenience all the time#if you're one of my players seriously though forget you ever read this#or at least don't let it affect your character's actions#meta knowledge y'know
