WHAT EXPECTATIONS DO YOU HOLD TOWARDS YOUR PLOTTING PARTNER: i guess just be able to put up with my rambling and stopping and starting, a lot of characterisation choices i do go through various stages and its pretty messy so when i communicate that with others it usually ends up equally messy. just be patient with me please.

WHEN YOU NOTICE THE PLOTTING IS RATHER ONE-SIDED, WHAT DO YOU DO?: i don’t mind! sometimes ppl have more ideas that they want to share first and i’m always super happy to listen to those ideas !! sometimes its nice to have someone with a clear guide or structure and be able to work around that rather than trying to fumble through a plot together.

HOW DO YOU USUALLY PLOT WITH OTHERS, DO YOU GIVE INPUT OR LEAVE MOST WORK TOWARDS YOUR PARTNER?: i try to map out some basic info abt their characters that i otherwise don’t know from their bio or verses and try to pick out points of confrontation or similarities to expand on with giselle that can be used as points for like a starter to happen. its either that or sometimes i have really stupid ideas i just toss out there like ‘LMAO THEYRE BREAKING SHIT AT DISNEYLAND’ and go buck wild from there if the other person is down. i also always try to warn people or get a gauge for what subjects to avoid and steer clear of considering that giselle is a bit of a Freak(tm) and will say and do bad things.

WHEN A PARTNER DROPS THE THREAD, DO YOU WISH TO KNOW?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: if there’s something giselle did or said that upset you, i would love to know not to repeat it again (since i do still feel pretty new to the rp game, theres still plenty of time for me to make stupid mistakes). if its just a general lack of interest or uncertainty of where the plot should go, then you dont have to tell me i wont take it personally i promise !

WHY DO YOU RP AGAIN, IS THERE A GOAL?: to help with my confidence in writing! i have v bad anxiety when it comes to sharing my works and i write a lot of other pieces alongside this blog on ao3 and i want to develop my writing skills just in general. when it comes to like the nuts and bolts of why i rp giselle specifically, its mainly to just have fun and have a laugh w my friends who are really awesome quincy writers

WISHLIST, BE IT PLOTS OR SCENARIOS: OH SO MANY! ive managed to fulfil a lot of my wishlist threads with like, giselle talking to characters she’s already zombified and i love all that angst but i want to do more stupid shit. i want to make it my personal goal to bully every quincy man and woman on sight. although a REAL dream would be if i got to write a thread zombifying a character who managed to escape giselle’s clutches. and more fighting! i want to get better at describing action and fights and i love to write giselle getting beat up and beating people up! more more more!!

THEMES I WON’T EVER RP / EXPLORE: hohoho theres a LOT... uh r*pe/dubcon threads for one, even if yeah i know writing it doesnt condone it, it makes me intensely uncomfortable to put my muse in that scenario, i feel like i have an obligation to like, protect her from that shit you know? racism is one i don’t want to transgress, even though i’m a poc, its not really cathartic or groundbreaking to write abt racism in threads its just... really fucking upsetting. also i know the quincy’s have this very close parallel to the whole n*zi imagery and ideology thing going on and i am not about to start even daring to thread that into my writing or bring those allusions and references of real life tragedies into giselle’s threads. i’ve already talked at length abt exploring giselles trans identity in rp and why im not comfortable doing so, so.... yeah! all those i guess.

WHAT TYPE OF STARTERS DO YOU PREFER / DISLIKE, CAN’T WORK WITH?: i like starters where giselle can just immediately get right into being a piece of shit. mise en scene and all that! cut out the build up and just get to the intense horror !! i don’t like starters where its not immediately clear where the characters are standing and what they’re doing and what’s happening around them. those really disorientate me and leave me kinda floundering because i always need some allusion or mention of a setting to ground giselle in a time and place other wise i cant tell what her response should be

WHAT TYPE OF CHARACTERS CATCH YOUR INTEREST THE LEAST?: angry old men GSADJDKSJA i could never rp yhwach for example or yamamoto because idk. theyre just so crummy and boring to me. i also couldnt rp characters who always have an upper hand in battle like aizen. i like my dumbasses and i like them stupid and adaptive not just, ‘yes i know this because i Know this.’

WHAT ARE YOUR STRONG ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: i think im nice...? FKSJDKDJSA idk i hate trying to toot my own horn. sometimes i also think i make funny jokes and im pretty chill and laid back

WHAT ARE YOUR WEAK ASPECTS AS RP PARTNER?: my writing style is inconsistent and adapts to whatever i’m reading so sometimes it’ll be really good and i love it and other times it reads like really bad fanfic and i get carried away far too easily and write novella lengths for threads which should be much shorter. i also get shy a lot and dont think i communicate very effectively but HEYO we’re working on it!

Best ways to approach you for rp/plotting: if you want to plot, it would be best to send me an IM and ask me, then we can definitely move to discord if you’d rather. it’s possible to approach me for rp without plotting first, best way would be to send me a meme when i reblog them or simply an ic ask, which i will answer, while memes might get lost. ic asks are good ice-breakers, we can continue plotting from there.

What expectations do you hold towards your plotting partner: i need my partners to be as interested in our plot as i am. it would be great if you already have an idea, but it’s still good if you don’t, i get that coming up with ideas can be hard sometimes; mostly, i require honesty. you can definitely tell me that you got no ideas and i will do my best to help, ask questions, try to spark something. i do require the feeling of having that commitment reciprocated.

When you notice the plotting is rather one-sided, what do you do?: i tend to straight up drop the conversation lmao. no hard feelings, but if i get the feeling you’re not interested, i will take my distance - i won’t waste my energy on a plot if my partner doesn’t share my enthusiasm. still, you can always approach me again, if you’re feeling up to it / have new ideas / whatever. nice thing of online convos is that they don’t have an expiration date lol.

How do you usually plot with others, do you give input or leave most work towards your partner?: i always ask if they got any ideas to begin with. if my partner already knows, more or less, what kind of dynamic they wanna build with my character(s), that makes it infinitely easier to build something meaningful. it’s still fine if they don’t, i will usually ask a lot of questions regarding their muse’s opinions / feelings / etc., and try to navigate from there. a question i usually ask is: is there any aspect of your muse you’d like to explore? i think that’s a pivotal point in any interaction.

When a partner drops the thread, do you wish to know?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: if they feel like telling me, why not. but usually, i don’t warn when i drop a thread, so it’s not expected of my partners ever. - What should your partner do when dropping a thread?: nothing in particular tbh. they can tell me or approach me to start a new thread if they wish to, but it’s not required.

What could possibly lead you to drop a thread?: i might lose interest in a thread, especially if i feel like it’s going nowhere or if the inspiration for it simply doesn’t come. it’s never happened so far that i had to drop a thread because it was making me uncomfortable, but that could still be a reason for me to. in general, though, i would approach my partner in that case. - Will you tell your partner?: YES / NO / DEPENDS.

Is communication in the rpc important to you? YES / NO. - And why?: absolutely. i’d rather avoid awkward situations or misunderstandings of any kind; if something’s up, tell me. i also like to communicate with my writing partners (be it in the tags of our threads or in IMs), makes me feel like the enthusiasm is not one-sided and i find it generally pleasant. - Are you okay with absolute honesty, even if it may means hearing something negative about you and/or portrayal?: sure. we gotta stay polite, but honest. - Do you think you can handle such situation in a mature way? YES / NO.

Why do you rp again, is there a goal?: to have fun, to cultivate my writing skills and my english, and to explore my favorite characters.

Wishlist, be it plots or scenarios: i want to develop aizen’s wandenreich verse, because i’m deep in quincy hell and i think his dynamics with quincy muses could be super interesting. anything involving the intricacies of bleach politics is super interesting to me, be it with aizen or with my two quincy muses - who, btw, are also good to explore dynamics between quincies / their culture / relationships etc.

Themes I won’t ever rp / explore: i won’t write anything pertaining to sexual assault.

What Type of Starters do you prefer / dislike, can’t work with?: it’s gotten difficult to work with starters such as “you summoned me / do you need anything / did you call for me” etc. i used to receive that kind of starters all the time with aizen, and i can’t come up with something new every damn time. i also have a hard time working with starters / replies that already feel like a closed conversation and don’t give me anything to reply to.

What type of characters catch your interest the most?: i’m not sure i have a type. aizen is pretty much an exception, the only example of an already well-built character i write, since i tend to gravitate around minor ones that don’t have much material and that i can work on and expand without being affected by the fandom’s opinion or whatever. somehow i always tend to rp tall guys-

What type of characters catch your interest the least?: children and teenagers don’t interest me for the most part. characters who don’t have a shred of an opinion or can’t offer any interesting conflicts. overly friendly, mushy, affectionate and flowery characters are really not my cup of tea either.

What are your strong aspects as rp partner?: oh god i have no idea. i’m very laid-back, i guess. i’ll never pressure my partners for replies, i don’t think i’m owed a reply in the first place because we all have lives offline, so i’ll never take it to heart if a partner drops a thread. if i really feel like our roleplaying styles don’t mesh, it will be at my own discretion to do something about it. another strong aspect i have ....... i think i have a decent grasp on all my muses? especially aizen. of course ur free to disagree lol. also, lately i’ve been p active, so that’s it.

What are your weak aspects as rp partner?: i’m really slow. i might speed up for my closest friends, with whom i plot / rp regularly, but usually i take quite some time to reply to random unplotted threads. i probably have a thousand other flaws as a rper, but this is the biggest one that comes to my mind rn.

Do you rp smut?: YES / NO. Do you prefer to go into detail?: YES / NO / DEPENDS. Are you okay with black curtain?: YES / NO. - When do you rp smut? More out of fun or character development?: i don’t write detailed sex scenes. sorry lmao they’re just not interesting to me. however, i’m super-ok with writing anything around it, like intimate scenes etc. in fact i find it somewhat soothing. - Anything you would not want to rp there?: the nitty-gritty part is already a no, but i guess also sexual violence and shit like that. it’s a no.

Are ships important to you?: YES / NO. Would you say your blog is ship-focused?: YES / NO. Do you use read more?: YES / NO / SOMETIMES. Are you: Multi-Ship / Single-Ship / Dual-Ship — Multiverse / Singleverse. - What do you love to explore the most in your ships?: all my ships are with snow 8′) and ur never bored with her. in general, i love being able to explore the muses’ relationships, their conflicts and their peaceful moments, especially in relation to canon events! - What is your smut tag?: nsfw / ........ my n*sfw posts are rare anyway.

Are you okay with pre-established relationships?: YES / NO. - And what kind of ones?: to an extent, i prefer pre-est relationships to first meetings - which they can get a bit dull after some time. i’m ok with mostly anything, and only more selective when it comes to relationships that might severely alter my muse’s canon / past / overall character.

- What could possibly make your Muse interesting towards others, why should they rp with this particular character of yours now, what possible plots do they offer?: not to stroke my own feathers but aizen offers a perfect chance at character development to any and all bleach characters. he’s the main villain, he holds some wild opinions, and whether you agree or disagree with him, he leaves no one indifferent. aizen is the main cornerstone of bleach, and if you want your muse to questions themselves and the system / world around them, interacting with him is the best way to start. also, aizen interacted with a fuckton of people, knows practically everything there is to know, is responsible for significant amount of canon events, so you see ... whatever character you write, aizen has the full potential to be extremely relevant in the course of their development.

- With what type of Muses do you usually struggle to rp with?: children, ordinary low-ranked shinigami (i find it hard when it’s out of the blue, even in aizen’s captain and lieutenant verses ... because interactions would likely be only work-related, and won’t go far), characters whose personalities really have nothing to do with aizen. unfortunately, he’s not my easiest muse, and i don’t want to force interactions with him. - With what type of Muses do they usually work well with?: characters who have opinions, some political involvement, in general characters with whom aizen had a dynamic in canon.

- What interests your Muse(s) in general: reading, calligraphy, philosophy (especially in-world philosophy), science (again, mostly related to the specificity of the bleach universe), the very careful crafting of his plan- - What do they desire, is their goal?: kill the soul king and take its place, destroy the institutions of soul society, subdue them. and then rule, as the soul king never did before. - What catches their interest first when meeting someone new?: the idiosyncracies in their behavior, the particularities, their possible weaknesses. - What do they value in a person?: very little, usually. he may appreciate a resolute personality, strength, and intelligence. - What themes do they like talking about?: speaking mostly of mundane talks, he likes conversing about his interests. it takes a lot for him to share any personal information, though. - Which themes bore them?: anything about the greater good, friendship, love, very human topics.

- Did they ever went through something traumatic?: seeing the soul king, in all things like a ghost stalking his dreams, and well ... spending his early life in rukongai as a whole. being forced to consume other souls in order to survive. the first times his reiatsu killed anyone who tried to get near him. - What could possibly trigger them?: it’s rare that he will outwardly show signs of distress, i’d say almost impossible. the few times the soul king still appears in his mind, greatly upsets him though. - What could set them off, enrage them?: the soul king gets him particularly heated. urahara, as we witnessed. after his defeat, ichigo, to an extent. - What could lead to an instant kill?: kubo was a coward who didn’t dare let him kill any relevant character, but actually aizen kills very liberally.

- Is there someone /-thing they hate?: the soul king, urahara. he has a strong disdain for yamamoto, and that joke of C46. - Is there someone /-thing they love?: himself. tousen

Something you may still want to point out about your muse?: aizen is not a particularly easy muse, but it’s part of his overall mosaic to be somewhat unapproachable and distant. i’m not out to make him someone he is not, so forgive me in advance if plotting with me turns out to be difficult in a way or another. he’s very dear to me, and i try my best to do him justice! while my main headcanons may not affect our interactions specifically, i still ask my partners to look them up (they’re linked in my about page) because they’re essential to my portrayal and it makes me happy to have them acknowledged. i think that’s all lmao. come visit me over at my quincy boys too.

Odd One Out Rumor had it that a tall man in armor arrived to the area, yet none of the locals are quite sure of his intentions. A handful have deemed the paladin helpful and good, but what of the others? Some digging may be sought after.

Burning the Midnight Oil After long days on the road, traveling through vast lands and city-states alike, the best way to wind down is to read a good book at a tavern. Elouan is the man to sit near the back with his book in hand and drink on the table, listening to conversations of fellow patrons to pass the time. It might be good for him to have a talk of his own, with a fellow adventurer or town native perhaps.

The Errand Boy Elouan wasn’t always a strong and readied Paladin. In his formative years, the wildwood was an errand boy for Gridanian businesses and Soldiers alike, never straying too far from the city-state’s gaze in his endeavors. Even as a Gladiator, still in the initial stages of training, he resumed his courier ways during quick spells in his homeland. An odd amount of supplies have a name addressed that skips the elezen’s mind. Just who might the delivery be for, this time?

Friendships! I’m looking to get Elouan established with other characters/WoL’s. The Elezen doesn’t quite have a social network, and to expand upon that would be delightful!

Romantic Interests Friendships are delightful and nice to have to further establish a character, yet romance offers things of the more sappy/love-influenced aspects. If there is a way we can set something up, or lead a relationship from acquaintances to lovers, I’m down for it!

Friendly People Your character can be a stick in the mud or just a jerk and I’d still be happy to find some interaction with them. I find the most fun to be had is with friendly people beyond the character. We don’t even have to rp all the time/most of the time; finding someone to chat and plot with is great!

I enjoy elaborating and providing details in situations, particularly things that can further the plot or hone in on my character’s disposition and inner thoughts. Depending on what we’re doing and how much involvement there is, my posts can vary from three/four sentences or more, such as eight plus.

HOW I RUN MY BLOG

SPEED : I’ve actually been pretty good (I feel) lately keeping up with my replies. I try not to let them get more than a week old if I can help it. That said things have been pretty chill lately in my personal life and work, etc. so I’ve had a lot of time and energy to write. Sometimes I’m slower but it never means that I’m not interested or am leaving. I’ve been RPing on Tumblr for 7 years, I’m not going anywhere. I’m very patient and happy to pick up replies weeks, months, later, I’ve even picked up plotted threads with people a year or more later. Like I said, I’m not going anywhere.

REPLIES : I tend to prefer para or multipara type responses. I’m really no good at doing one liners unless it’s with people I’ve got an established relationship with and even then it usually turns into a para within a few turns. I love writing big long intricate things, I think it really helps flesh out the inner emotions, thoughts, and mannerisms of your character. Especially since Quinn is a relatively new character it helps give that extra depth that I’m still exploring. I do my best to increase the pace and keep the flow without doing any goddmodding but that said I’m always happy for people to assume the logical action of Quinn. If they’re talking about going somewhere, you’re welcome to assume he’s going to follow. If it helps move the story along in a logical way then go for it.

STARTERS : I prefer to have some kind of plotted starter. I find it tough just to jump in blind without talking about it first but I do try from time to time just to expand my writing horizons. I get a little nervous writing starters as I’m always afraid I’m writing too much or not enough or not setting the scene enough or in the way that someone is expecting. I think writing starters is probably one of my weaker skill sets but I’m always working on it!

INBOX : I love getting that little notification that there’s something waiting for me in my inbox. I post a lot of memes and I’m happy to use them as the first interaction or gazillionth. Don’t be afraid to send something in. I usually turn memes into replies but we don’t always have to. I might check in with people to see what they have in mind (see Starters problem I have above) but I really love having options to explore things I haven’t thought about or scenarios our muses haven’t encountered together. SELECTIVITY : I follow/follow back people that I’m interested in writing with. That said, if I haven’t followed you back it might just mean I’ve missed the notification (Tumblr is great) or I can’t easily envision how our muses might fit together. Hi anon hope you are all okay. So when we're looking at apps, the mod team is looking at how you'd play the character coming into this setting. We really don't mind about length, it's the quality of it that we're looking at and your understanding of the bio. What we are looking for is for your personality and writing style to shine through and really give it your best shot! There is no right way or wrong way to apply and we love reading all the varitey that we get. Below I've listed a few bullet points that we think will help and that we look out for, hope this helps! - Hannah

How do they fit into the world? - The mod team love seeing how the character fits into the world we've built and how they are present day. While it is all well and wonderful knowing a second of their life from childhood, we want to see how their live is affected now in present time rather than a past version of themselves - because most likely they are very different to their younger selves

What makes them tick? - What the team really look for is a deeper understanding of the character than simple surface level. So we want you to bring your own touches into it and really show us that you understand this character in way that still fits in with the bio but is your own. How do they see their friendships? Their wand? Their job? All are great ways to explore that. The bios are really just templates to follow and give indepth character nuggets for you to them expand on and delve into so don't be afraid to deep dive!

Little details - Linking into both of the above points, we love it when we can see the little details of what makes them your version of the character. So when people explain more about why their wand is that one or even why their patronus is a specific one and how it links to that character and their personality that is always a big winner in our book. Even the small things of what they're wearing in their para sample, like do they have electric blue eye liner like Tilden, do they have their patched work jacket like Saoirse, everything creates depth to a character so it's finding what works for you

Tips on writing good starters.

In the roleplay scene, it can be hard to handle the task of writing a starter or a greeter for someone else. Especially when your partners have different preferences, and you just aren’t sure if you can handle it. When you have a lot of starters to do all at once ------ it can be quite daunting. So, with my years of roleplay experience --- I gathered a few of my own tips that help myself when writing starters ( although, now I need to get over the obstacle of laziness ). I figured, hey --- maybe someone else can get help from this.

1. Consider aspects of their muse. It sounds lame, but you need to kind of look at someone’s muse ( whether you know them well or not, canon or OC ) and figure out answers to questions such as “what kind of first impression do they give off?” and “how would they react to a stranger walking up to them?”. It’s best here to avoid topics that you feel may grow REPETITIVE. To you and your muse, a topic such as “who/what are you” or “why are you here” may be new, but to your partner it may not be. Try to avoid something as bland and repetitive, and try to find a new edge that makes a conversation or greeter all the more exciting that kind of grabs your partner’s attention more so than a thought like “oh another starter like this??”.

2. Think of how the starter will carry onward in a thread. Some people like shorter things, while others like to expand more. You want to try to fit a starter with your partner in this sense length wise, but all in all we should all agree we’d want a starter that could get your muses somewhere. Whether it’s knowing each other better, or developing a whole new plot on the fly --- it all matters on the topic. Whether it’s a one-liner, single-para, multi-para, etc., it’s your responsibility as the one writing the starter to get something going, not your partner you’re writing the starter for. Avoid starters that makes them step up and get things going --- or something too vague that no one knows what’s going on. Be clear, be interesting, and find something that can expand longer than just 2 or 3 replies. So you may write something like “hey, im lost. can you tell me where i am?” which could be quickly solved by your partner responding with directions or something --- instead, aim for something more like “you’re lost too?? lets try sticking together to find our way back!” which will allow the muses to have potential bonding. Bland example, but it’s an example nevertheless.

3. Grab your partner’s attention. Try to write a starter that you feel will excite your partner ( but make sure you’re excited for it, too ). If you check out their blog // wishlist // etc., you may get a better idea of what they’re looking for in new roleplays. It can help avoid the problems in the two tips above, as well as giving off a good first impression as a roleplay partner that you’re excited, too! If you read their rules and see they enjoy plotting, you could always hit them up! But always pay mind to rules concerning everything.

while i have considerable knowledge & understanding of the source material from which these characters come, all of my muses are primarily headcanon based, and some are canon divergent. this is due to my own writing preferences & personal perceptions of these characters.

i plan on being active, obviously!! but i have other blogs to run, as well as a life outside of rp, so i won’t be able to be here every waking moment, and it may take me a while to reply sometimes. but i do my best, always!! it’s never anything personal, or me not caring about being here.

i hold all of my writing partners to the same basic writing etiquette as pretty much everyone else : no godmodding / metagaming, no ooc drama, and approach me beforehand about specific plots you’d like to do.

i write exclusively in para / novella style, meaning literate sentences with quotations to indicate when a character is speaking. that’s just how i’m most comfortable writing, i don’t tend to stray away from that.

i do occasionally do text message threads, but those are not necessarily ideal for me.

i am open to plotting with all mutuals!! even if our characters come from the same series & have something of a relationship already in canon, i’m willing to expand upon it & explore different types of relationships!!

i have shipping biases. there are some ships that i am quite fond of & that i am more likely to want to write. even still, the main factor when it comes to shipping is, you guessed it, chemistry. even if i have a bias for the ship, i prefer some amount of buildup to the actual romance.

that aside, i’m willing to ship just about anything so long as it is unproblematic. y’all know what that means, i’m not even gonna get into it. don’t be gross.

i don’t ship with duplicates; i don't ship my muses with duplicates of themselves, nor of other muses i am already shipping that particular character with. i’m also highly selective with shipping. though this is technically a multishipping blog, i don’t like having a lot of ships. i just like to have a few that i can focus on & develop.

despite that, i am more than willing to interact with duplicates of both my muses & muses of others i interact with!! more on that further down.

you might be able to tell by now, but shipping is not my main priority. i’m interested in exploring ALL types of relationships!!

HOW DO YOU RUN YOUR BLOG

Speed: I’d say slow is the default (even slower during the school year) - I’ve replied to threads weeks or even months later. I may be quicker if I’m super enthusiastic and have the energy, but I like to take my time. My brain may be elsewhere, or I simply need a break. I’ve been using the queue more often, so I’ll throw in replies there once I finish them. I appreciate those who understand my pace, and I’ll be respectful in return! Also, life is hard.

Replies: I tend to drop one-liners and crack threads quickly, since I consider them as “one-off” threads. I do have the habit of dropping threads I no longer have muse for. I prioritize multi-para, plotted threads, as they give me the most opportunity to expand upon my muse, include details that set the mood of the writing, etc. I’m the type who talk in the tags, either commenting on what’s happening in the thread or ooc things. If the other person’s silent (and we don’t talk outside of tumblr), I tend to think they’re not as enthusiastic. Maybe that’s not the case, but unless there’s that communication, I won’t know.

Starters: I tend not to post starter calls. This way, I can keep a manageable number of threads without being overwhelmed. I prefer plotted starters between muns, and I think it’s fair to say that the person who approaches first should write the starter. Based on what the other mun describes, I may incorporate some aspect of it into the starter or somewhere along the way. I love looking at the little things, so plotting is highly encouraged!

Inbox: Inbox and anon are always open unless otherwise noted. I occasionally clean out old asks if I’m unable to respond, but other than that, I try to answer in a reasonable amount of time. I default to short answers for random asks (one-liners to a paragraph), but this doesn’t guarantee a long-term thread should it be continued. As stated, I prefer plotted starters! I don’t mind crack in moderation - it’s fun to be silly every now and then, especially breaking the fourth wall with the recent dw9 updates ^^

Selectivity: It says semi-selective, but I’ve admittedly been more selective nowadays. I recently made a second muse, so I spend some time there. Mainly, I’ve been wanting more specific kinds of interaction, and while I’d like to be open to everyone, I’m unable to do so. Aside from my own preferences like multi-para threads and an accessible theme, I seek responsible writing. If I see that the mun makes an effort to research what they write (so as to not spread misconceptions, for instance), I’m more likely to respect them.

Wishlist Item: FRIENDS, my god, he needs friends. I’d love for Xun to befriend muses closer to his age, yet also those who (mostly) understand him. He hangs out with adults all the time, and it’d be great if he could shed the professional mask more often. I’d also love if he had more motherly figures in his life, even if they just squish his cheeks (I don’t blame them tbh). He supports others so much, and he needs someone to lean on. Lastly, I live for those deep, emotional conversations that give the muses (and muns) feels ;u;

Honest Note: At times, I consider archiving this blog (keeping the muse) and starting fresh with a closer circle of friends, but that’s another hassle in of itself. Maybe not now, but it’s still in my mind. I love roleplaying as Xun, yet there’s that underlying worry of “oh he’s just a generic Nice Guy” and how kind characters are seen as bland and not complex. Kindness is hard. Writing kindness is hard, being kind in real life can be especially hard when being the opposite seems easier. Writing an empathetic character like Xun can be draining, especially if most threads involve him acting as support without receiving it in return. That might explain my frequent breaks, but that’s what I feel. Being emotionally invested in my writing shows how deeply I care about it, so it’s not bad. As a mun, I can feel a bit... used at times? Like as a meme resource (I don’t reblog them as often anymore) among other things. I’ll just have to be more selective for my own sake.

Casting A Wide Net

Looking for Partners Alright! So here’s the deal: I am looking for rp partners. Simple enough, right? The facts: *I pretty much only do heterosexual stuff and I am always the girl unless I know you and feel comfortable enough to try and get into a male character. I’m pretty picky about it too so unless we are on the same wavelength it’s probably not gonna happen with me being the guy. *I prefer 3rd pov para to novella but I can do 1st as long as it’s literate. No one liners please and anything less than three sentences in replies is no good. I put a lot of my heart and soul into writing this stuff so please give me some effort too and be at least a little descriptive. *Genre info - SMUT IS OPTIONAL AND MUST MAKE SENSE FOR THE CHARACTERS TO BE GETTIN IT ON. I do not like only smut plots, that gets boring to me after a while without actual context. I also don’t like plots that are extremely angst ridden or all fluff. Basically, if a plot is too much in any one emotion I’m going to lose my muse. I prefer stories with a variety of emotion that allow for much in the way of character depth.  *I have literally dozens of plots that we can do. DOZENS! I’m not going to post them all here but I’m working on getting them all up on my page. Each plot has a variety of muses with unique backstories I can do to allow for some specialization. If they aren’t to your liking then we can do one of yours or come up with something completely new. I am not terribly picky what we do for story but I would like to be at least comfortable with the universe and be able to get into the feel of the character; Typically the more creative freedom I have to make it fluid and natural the better.  *Personal info - I am 30 years old and I’m active every day. Replies may not always be lightning fast but you will for sure get them within a day or two and if not, feel free to poke me. I am willing to play here on Tumblr or any social medium you prefer. my opinion on;

character in general: Well - River writes twenty-two different muses. I’m not going to go through all of them in this meme because, to be quite honest, that’s going to take far longer than I think is fair to the other people waiting on theirs. Also, for the purpose of con/crit, it is going to be easier to focus on the characters that have been around the longest (depending on your definition of longest) and then compare that with some of the newer ones and what looks like is happening and how best to expand on all of the above. Varying stages of muses on a spectrum.

I’m picking five - Bedelia is the origin of the blog (and the longest running) and so therefore has the most character development over time (and in multiple partnerships), Scully is the character I personally have had the most experience with (consecutively speaking), Rey was a long runner during the Bedelia hiatus (and also has significant character development over time with a partner with who has that with another character so that leads to good comparison), Freddie is a frequent character (but not always a long-lasting one pre-multi and not one with a lot of consecutive threads so as to follow character development across them), and Hermione (who has less threads overall but still gives some idea of development).…my general opinion on Bedelia as a character is full of probably too much salt and not worth reiterating here. I think the idea of her was solid, and I think Gillian did a phenomenal job portraying her. She is also the only reason I made it past the first three episodes of the series - because I was watching it for her, and she didn’t show up until episode six. End comment.

Dana Scully deserves the world and got hell instead.

I’m still undecided on Rey. I think she has potential as a character and enjoyed her in Ep. VII (she’s not Finn, but she’s cool), but I reserve the right to make a decision as to my full opinion on her character until the end of this trilogy.

Freddie is the only character where I think Fuller considerably improved on canon material. In the first two seasons. We didn’t see her enough in s3 for me to make that claim. But overall? Yeah.

I remember identifying with Hermione very strongly when I read the series the first time through (at least initially, although I think I may have grown out of that by the time the last…two? came out - definitely by the last one). I don’t think she was ever my favorite (I may be wrong on that), but I typically had positive feelings towards her.

how they play them: As a general rule, the answer to this question is well. River is a fairly strong writer and has been for as long as I’ve known her. This carries over to any character she writes, regardless of how long she may have been writing them. Therefore, since the general answer to this question is a positive one, further consideration must be taken into individual characters, writing development, and general commentary.

Thus, a con/crit section.I do have a set criteria for what I’m looking into as a whole. I’ll talk about the character and writing development aspects last. First, I want to talk general writing commentary - headcanon, length of posts, grammar/spelling, etc. - because that’s the foundation for the more detailed aspects of writing seen in voice, theme, consistency, character as a whole.So, let’s get started. River has few issues with grammar. In fact, the only one I want to point out (because it was a consistent bother to me), is this: when you start a new paragraph and the character is still speaking, it is not necessary to close out the previous paragraph with quotation marks. Leave it open; the character is still speaking. Only close when the character is done, or when you are going to have them do something else before continuing. Outside of that, you’re golden.

(As an aside, you are not the only person I have seen do this, and it actually appears to be something you’ve picked up later, because you weren’t doing it in your earlier threads. This may be a stylistic choice, but it is not a good one.)

River has no issues with spelling. Occasionally there is a misstep in wording, but that can be solved with a brief read-through before posting. Pretty much everyone has a tendency to do this - I do, anyway - so it’s not a big deal. However, I’ve found it is more apparent when you’re in a hurry. But, again, it isn’t necessary to fix, because this is RP. Just a comment.River is good with any length of post (one-liner, para, multi-para), but she hits her stride particularly with paras or longer. A vast majority of her characters are introverted or put a lot of thought into their actions, their manners of speaking, so although you do one-liners well (which is a praise in itself, considering the internal dialogue just mentioned), your strength is in longer stuff. You know this. From a reading perspective, all of your writing captures the character well, you just have more room to breathe there, which works best for your muses. Again, you know this.You are also extremely versatile when it comes to thread genres (fluff, angst, tragedy, violence, romance, slice of life, and crack). Most of your threads tend to focus on either romance (with a potential mix of angst, depending) or slice of life (albeit, plotted, but you know what I mean), and these are only your strong suits due to their more frequent use. You do them all well, even violence, so I have no comment here. Kudos. (Although I will say, I personally have a strong preference for your fluff threads because they typically also include character development as well - but that’s just me.)Headcanon, however, I have a little more commentary on. When you post them, your headcanon is more than on point and does a good job of elucidating your character. However, a lot of them are found in threads, which runs the risk of not having adequate enough information on a character to lead to good plotting. For instance, below, when it talks about shipping, half of these I only know would be cool ships because I’ve read your threads and understand your character better. I can tailor fit a thread to your interpretation. Without headcanon posted separately from threads, this becomes significantly harder, and most people (I would guess) are not going to read threads to get that information. Also, it is hard to find your headcanon separate from your characters’ threads, so that they have a tendency to get lost within everything else. There’s no easy route of access. I’d suggest at least having a catchall headcanon tag, so that someone who is looking at your characters, who is thinking about potential plots, has a way of getting to them.As a general rule, you are extremely good at capturing a character’s voice, whether in dialogue or in narrative. You know this. It is particularly apparent in your Amelia blog (there was a link in one of your Freddie blogs, and I’m a completionist in most things writing-related where these are concerned) and in Freddie. Amelia shows that this has always been one of your strengths, but I think Freddie is where you show your growth as a writer best - because you can physically read��how your writing grows just from looking at her voice in your first blog for her (where it wasn’t bad) to where it is now (where you channel Freddie like nobody’s business) - and that’s with months or longer between actually actively writing her, so that means it’s just you getting better. And that’s cool to watch.All of that said, we can begin to look into more specifics as far as individual characters. I’m going to do this within aspect, so - consistency and themes first, then finish with potential for future development.Within threads with partners, all of your characters are consistent, and in that same way, they are consistent across different threads with multiple partners. However, of these five, four deal with the theme of surviving vs. thriving (this is explicitly mentioned in the text for three of the four (Scully [x], Rey [x], and Bedelia [x]) and is a basis for Freddie, even if not explicitly mentioned), and all five deal not so much with strength as not appearing vulnerable or weak, albeit in different ways. Scully deals with this through closing herself off, through appearing like her male peers; Bedelia does this by controlling everything and being intimidating (because surely someone like her has no apparent vulnerabilities - she is ice and cold and impenetrable because she is so high above the lesser mortals); Rey’s is more a need based on not being taken advantage of within the context of the other street rats (she would like to be but cannot be); Freddie’s is simply due to the nature of her job (”She wasn’t supposed to be this weak./She was a journalist.” [x]), and Hermione’s actually is a basis in strength, which is a welcome development. It actually becomes an interesting dialogue among the characters (particularly across some of Bedelia’s threads - you have Alana specifically stating that she “never found vulnerability to be a weakness” and Bedelia’s remark against it [x] and in further development with Stella, you have Bedelia specifically noting that “Vulnerability need not always be a weakness” [x] - it has even shown up as commentary in the Scully/Jess threads, “she felt less of a need to/wear a mask, less of a desire to feign the/strength she lacked. She wasn’t expected/to be invincible. It was freeing, but she/could only embrace that so far” [x] and in the meme where you attempted to write Alana, “If she can weap-/onize her own pain, perhaps it will no longer be a weakness” [x]) - which gives you a consistency across characters, which is admirable.You have mentioned that you like survivors. You write them well. You also expand and expound and dive into what surviving looks like across various muses (in fact, a majority of your other muses could also be labeled as survivors) as well as the battle that the feminine must have with the ideas of vulnerability, weakness, and how that interacts with gender (of the five, this is most explicitly brought up with in Scully’s threads, as far as gender is concerned, but that battle of vulnerability/weakness is constantly present). And, despite doing this so frequently, it never seems old, it never seems tired, it never seems out of character because it is so much in character for the muses you are writing. And that is to be commended.

Now, as far as future development, I want to broach this in two different ways: personal development as a writer (which is really about character types worth exploring in the future) vs. character development (which is more tied into places to explore with your existing characters, ways of individually developing them further, which still leads to writing development, but on a much more minor scale). I’ll start with the latter and work my way to the former, just because that seems easiest to me.With Scully, I would like to see her within the context of some sort of relationship (friendship works well for this, actually, because peer pressure and support is a thing) reach a point where she is comfortable embracing her more feminine aspects and vulnerability. In one of your OOC posts, you said that what you wanted was for Scully to wear a dress. That’s…pretty much what I mean. Because so much commentary within Scully’s threads is focused on not being vulnerable and on needing to appear more masculine so as not to be judged wanting by her male counterparts in the Bureau, the best development for her is to reach a place where she does not have to be preoccupied by either of those things, even if it is never in her work sphere, even if this is something she is only comfortable with around certain people. And, whereas with other characters their greatest development is in a low point, we see enough Scully abuse in the show. Her best growth arc is in the opposite.

With Bedelia, I want two things: one, I want to see her somewhere where she embraces her darkness, instead of trying to force it out, and two, I want to see her somewhere with a complete lack of control, not by her own choice. I’m more concerned about the former than the latter (as the latter will be hard to pull off well without an adequate partner, to pull off without further debasement of her character, and that’s not what I mean by this. Only that in every situation where she has lost control, it is by choice and she still retains some aspect of control. It has not been a full out loss. It’s worth exploring, but harder to do well - not that I think you can’t, as I have great admiration of your writing and have no doubt you can, but that finding a partner up to the challenge without it turning into torture porn will be complicated). Of course, Bedelia can embrace that darkness in a multitude of ways - violence is the easiest route, but I hesitate to say I want to see Bedelia violent, as that is certainly not the case. It simply seems to me that in the most developed ship you have for her, Bedelia is embracing the aspects of her that are more light - you have done phenomenally in this, so I would like to see the opposite explored.I have little commentary on Rey in this regard. I like how she is developing and would like to see more of that in the future. Any Luke/Jedi development seems like it would fall under similar development as the Stella/Rey development (only less intriguing), and I’m of the sort that likes waiting for canon before developing in that regard anyway. I do want to see Rey within the context of a romantic ship - that would be a good next step because it builds on what you are currently doing - but I would also like to see Rey with a compatriot, a peer, within the context of her lack of identity. Rey isn’t homeless, but I’d like to see her struggling with someone to make ends meet, someone equally at or even financially beneath her level. (I’m not particularly interested in seeing Rey embracing the dark because that is not her struggle. People is her struggle. Relationships are priority.)With Freddie, I do want to see her in a low point. From what I can intuit of your Freddie, her financial priorities are less on where she lives and more on fueling back into her job - fixing her camera, having a camera, gas money, etc. are all of much higher priority than her location, which waits until she gets big enough to afford somewhere better. So, I want to see Freddie lose her apartment. I want to see her choices in this regard in a financially bad situation lead her to not having a place to live because she cannot afford it. There is not much point in Freddie succeeding - there’s no growth there because she’ll keep doing what she’s doing. There’s no change. This puts her in a situation where she has to make decisions and go from there. Also, this leads to interesting interactions within the context of relationships and threads you’re already building within the Hannibal RP community. I mean, putting Freddie in a place where she lives with one of those characters (not because she went to them, because that’s not her style (Alana, maybe), but because they notice and forcibly don’t leave her because of their priorities (Alana, Zeller, Will (mine, because show!Will doesn’t care), heck Frances would be great for this) can lead to the interesting conflict of, well, job is priority and this actually puts her in a closer proximity to people she can feed off of - take advantage of their kindness. Or not. Depending on how characterization goes.I do not have any particular direction for Hermione’s character development at this point. Most of suggestions above deal with explorations separate from what you’ve already done or that can be founded entirely in the character’s set personality and systems. As of right now, there is not enough information in your threads or significant enough relationships for me to get a good idea of what you will naturally explore with her, and so I have no specifics. Any and every direction seems good at this point. In the future, I may be able to be more specific. My apologies.Now, as far as your general growth as a writer, I think there are two potential next steps. As we’ve discussed, I do think having a comedic muse would be a good expansion simply because comedy is something you could stand to work on (in that same breath, you do have at last one comic muse, so this is of less importance). What I would really prefer to see you doing next, in order to further your growth, is to pick up a villain, someone dark, dangerous, irredeemable. Bedelia is the closest you have to this at the moment, and a dark elaboration on her would be closer, but even then, it still isn’t the same. She is very much greyscale. I would like to see you write someone who is evil, who enjoys being evil, who desires and acts upon an intent to harm simply because they want to do so. Even with a villain, you can play into the themes that you tend towards because those are easily good motivations for a villain, so although it would be a step outside of your comfort zone, you needn’t go too far outside of it. I just see this as an area you haven’t touched on and would like to see that potential growth.the mun: River is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting - not just on this site, but as a general rule. It is even more to her credit that we met on here, given the tumultuous landscape of tumblr in general. We’ve known each other for almost three years now (!!), and although we disagree on some things (and I’ve caused drama), River’s consistently been someone who works to find a solution rather than being bogged down or drawn into the overemotional side of things - and that’s true not just from the standpoint of our relationship, but also from the standpoint of problems within fandom as a whole (or things she picks up on from her blog). River is always very careful about what she posts and what she says - diplomatic is perhaps the best way to put that - and it’s a skill that I find very admirable, given the overwhelming amount of salt that is seen pretty much daily on the site (not that salt is bad, but there’s a way to be salty without alienating people, which is what I mean here). Which is not to say she has no faults, because everyone does, but I have no intention of going into any of those. River is worth far more than any of that, and I think it does her a disservice to suggest otherwise.

follow them: Yes. Fairly consistently, I think. Except for a few months on Rey, but that was only because I hadn’t seen the movie yet. As soon as I did, I was. …oh, and Jack. I didn’t follow her Jack blog.rp with them: Yes. Not as consistently as we used to? But I think that has more to do with me jumping around from muse to muse than anything on her end. (Then again, we’ve got…eleven?? twelve active threads, so. There’s that.)want to rp with them: Always.ship their character with mine: …depends on the character(s). I like our styles together; they have a tendency to compliment each other more often than not. Outside of that, I feel like it’s really up to how the characters’ relationship(s) develop? So, yes, basically.

But if you want to know for each of the characters mentioned above in relation to Rabbit!Jess (and other muses in parenthesis because I spent far too much time thinking about this and some of these seem like they would be easier for potential shipping than others):

1) Jess/Scully comes first because to this day it is probably my favorite ship to have written (am I allowed to say that?), and that is partly because Jess does not shut up about it. And if I’m honest, with purely chemistry in mind, it’s proven itself to work. Jess will never stop loving Scully, and even when I was writing timeline canon as a thing, she constantly referred to her in other threads because she never stopped loving her. I said it two years ago, and I’ll say it again, this is the healthiest ship Jessica Rabbit has ever been in. So. The short answer is yes. The long answer is best summed up as: the greatest regret Jessica has is that she met Dana while Roger was still around and she desperately wishes that they had met in other circumstances. (As far as other muses, there are a handful with potential, but I think they all work best as friends. Reyes will probably be the best other muse option here whenever it is I add her. But can’t be sure until get to that point.)2) Jess/Bedelia is next. I think a ship with River’s Bedelia only works if there is something about the other character that catches Bedelia’s interest on an intellectual level - a human puzzle for her to figure out. Even if it doesn’t stay in that realm, it has to start there. I do not believe that Jessica would be the puzzle she would need to be for Bedelia to have an invested interest, unless we go into Toons as an idea, but since that would so clearly be conceived of as a delusion, I doubt she would find that interesting.However, if we go with Jessica’s earliest time period and the idea that violence against a Toon still counts as violence but doesn’t ruin a reputation and if Toon abuse was considered as a viable alternative to Bedelia’s other attempts to not be violent, then that, I think, is a possible scenario where enough interactions could lead to potential shipping. Just from the continued use to take care of that need. Although there could be the added complication of Jess as a loose string where Bedelia would want control over any possible discussion of the act, at which point you can add in ownership discussions (honestly, outright buying her would be the best solution in this situation), and then there might be further extended contact outside of the potential violence, which works even better. The question then becomes whether Bedelia would consider it a loss of control at all. Or, since Jess would then be considered as property, whether that perspective could be shifted (doubtful). Which is all to say tentatively yes but the scenarios aren’t likely. (Amy, on my multi, would probably be the best option for a Bedelia ship.)

3) Jess/Freddie is third and, uh, yeah. Definitely. Because with all of the Toon upheaval throughout Jessica’s entire life and the fact that Freddie is a tabloid journalist, there are a ton of different ways to throw them together and since Freddie has used sex as a way of getting information (looking at you, Zeller) and Jessica, if she knew that, would definitely see that as the best use of her time as far as giving information, then yeah. Not that sex = relationship, because it doesn’t, but like. Extrapolate from there. It’d be great. (Then again, this scenario might work better for OC!Jess because band or model!Bedelia because model - although my Bedeals is ace, so some slight differences in that aspect of the potential plot. Also, honestly, baby!Bedelia and foster!Freddie. Because reasons. Or Camille/Freddie because rivalry because journalists being journalists. Heck, I could even rock a Will/Freddie but only because my Will doesn’t suck. I OBVIOUSLY HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS HERE.)

4) Jess/Rey is fourth and no. No, I don’t. Even if Rey is old enough for it to be a thing, she feels young in relation to Jess and she would feel too young to Jess and so it wouldn’t happen on her end. So very firm no here. (OC!Jess is the better option here. Or Finn, if I brought him back.)

5) Jess/Hermione is possible, but I think the easiest point of interaction for them would be if Toons were considered magical non-humans and we play into the whole Toon Rights idea (because Hermione is very active for the rights of non-humans - and, honestly, we can make a comparison between house elves and Toons, really we can). If Jess were still within the young period of life where she would actively care and think things could be changed, then I can see a partnership forming and a potential ship from there based on the interactions and how the two characters play off of each other. Outside of that, Jess…probably wouldn’t get involved and would be super reluctant as a whole. Or involved with Roger. Or after his death and not wanting to deal with a witch because she would think Hermione could have fixed it, and please let’s not go that route. (Bedelia is far and away the better option here, because her Hogwarts verse is much more useful for this (please let them bond over house elves, please). Heck, even her Coven verse is better for this - it’s set up well enough that you don’t need to have seen the series, it’s got magic worth researching, and you get conflict with some of the morals. Probably good for mutual character development, depending on age.)

what is my;

overall opinion: To sum up, River is far and away one of the best writers I have had the fortune of seeing on this site, and that’s a position based on her dedication to her characters and the insight she has into them, combined with an impeccable writing ability which only grows stronger. Outside of that, as an individual, River is in most cases a good example of someone to look up to within the community - because, regardless of any differences of opinion, she is extremely diplomatic and speaks (and writes) in a way so as not to alienate the other person involved and never sees that as a reason to rant or rave or hate anyone. Above all else, River is kind, and that shines through in all of her interactions both in and out of character.

In short, I love her (and her writing). What else is there to say?
