for the yakuza asks: b2, c15, d1, d2 ?
B.) Let’s Get Personal:
2. What’s a scene that never fails to make you cry?
The epilogue of y0. When Majima and Makoto finally get a chance to see other for the first time and your sat there wondering if she recognizes him or not, I'm fine. It hurts but I can soldier on through that. The part that reminds me of the little bitch that I am though? When she goes to the empty lot and finds the watch!!!! that she!!!! hee!!!1 got repaired! for her!!!!!! and not only can she hear it but she can see it again too!!!! Omg, I'm tearing up right now wtf. Same goes for the end of the Majima Saga in k2! The massage? It was fiiiine. The plane though?! AND THAT FUCKING WATCH?!?! BRB! Gotta go cry it out. I've never been so emotionally fucked by a watch in my life. Ahhhh, to have a Majima Goro of my own 🥺😭
C.) Let’s Get Subjective:
15. Who has the most tragic story?
Nishiki was doomed the moment he was left at Sunflower. He grew up in an orphanage which in of itself is enough to make any child question their self-worth. But to make matters worse, the kid that he saw as so much of his equal he would vow to call his brother was always put before him. Preferred over him. As kids, by Kazama. As men, by Yumi. As yakuza, by family. It got to the point where he believed that Kiryu's success meant his failure. He did what he could to set himself apart and prove that he was worth a second glance only to disappear in Kiryu's shadow. He stepped up for Kiryu. He's saved Kiryu and the only person to recognize that was Kiryu but hell, at that point that wasn't enough! He knew that Kiryu saw him! That's why they were brothers! Even when Kiryu was branded a freaking 'patriarch killer', people still preferred Kiryu. He knew that if the world knew that he had been the one to off Dojima, he'd have never gotten a whiff of the pedestal that put Kiryu on yet he remained loyal... For a while. I think the one thing he felt he had that could prove to be a result of his work -no one else's- was saving his sister. But after Yuko died, a very important part of Nishikiyama died along with her: His hope. Once he abandoned his hope, he knew that he could no longer walk alongside Kiryu. He realized that there was never any chance for the two to be seen as true equals. Then, in his final hours, even after 10 long years, he had what'd been painfully clear to him majority of his life confirmed BACK TO BACK; The world preferred Kiryu. So, he gave the world exactly what it wanted by giving his life in place of Kiryu's. HOW FUCKING TRAGIC IS THAT?! EXCUSE ME WHILE I GO AND CRY AND SCREAM INTO THE VOID!
D.) Let’s Get Controversial:
1. Who’s the most overrated character?
😬 Mine Yoshitaka. Oops, I said it. I said. Hold your death threats. I just don't get it yall. Yeah, I know-- he's hot. And so is like, half the series roster? I don't get the hoopla. I don't. Then that bitch had the audacity to lay a hand on Haruka. He may as well meet me on top of the Millennium To--w..... er......oh yeah
2. Who is the most underrated character?
Makoto Date. Date-san has kept Kiryu out of so much shit. He's laid his literal career out on the line for Kiryu time and time and time again. And it's not like he gets a lot out of it in the end? The Tokyo police are trash. They just let the yakuza run amuck but then the second he's in cahoots with Kiryu to get some shit under control, that's when they have an issue? Anyway, that's a different rant. Basically, Date is Kiryu's real Day One and no one can change my mind on that.
