It was a beautiful summer's day in Briar Ridge and Aydin was walking along the boardwalk with his long time girlfriend, Cali. The annual Santa on the Sands event was in full flow and the small town was heaving with people all smiling and having fun. The detective had the weekend off, something he protested about at first, but came around to when Cali said they could spend it together. "Do you think most of these people are drunk or just stupid?" Aydin asked with a chuckle, as one of those said people tripped into him, bringing out a groan from the man. Here he was with his gorgeous girlfriend and he still found reasons to scowl. People annoyed him. It was hard to enjoy drunks when you spent most of your early policing days arresting them for disorderly conduct.
