Okay here are the doodles! They all feature Ben, in ways that can be seen as either friendship or as a ship, I dont mind what you see it as although a few I did make specifically to be seen as a ship, because while they aren't a canon couple in au, my god they are so adorable and I can't help but draw them anyways-😭
There will be some lore underneath the pictures, and also I'll discuss a little more about the relationship chart and character refs im working on afterward
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, lore time. Im not a big pokémon fan. Nor am I big on the pokepastas, which seem, to me, to have honestly spiraled into their own mini fandom on the sides of creepypasta, which is actually pretty cool, I'd love to explore more of it, but again, im not big on pokémon, I've only played like two or three games throughout my life, and I just can't find the interest to do it. My sincere apologies if my lore for Silver upsets anyone who is super big on Pokémon or pokepastas for not being accurate, but then again, that's what headcanons are for, things that aren't canon. I've tried doing little research and the closest thing I could come close to developing lore for Silver was 'Snow on Mt Silver'. Im not sure if its the same character or something entirely different, so bare with me as I say im merging the two ideas from each into one. Now, lets get this mess over with because I have no idea what I'm doing im kinda revamping my own lore as I write this😭
If anyone noticed, on the birthday chart I have, next to Silvers name, in parentheses, is the name;
Jae-Ing.
It doesn't sound like an American name, now does it? No, thats because, im my lore, Silver had a life before death, he isn't just a glitch in the coding and what not. He was Korean. Throughout the more I explain, the more resemblance you'll see in Ben's story, thus why they get together well, because they share a somewhat same experience.
Going to a private high school in Korea wasn't easy. At all. 'Jae' didn't have it eady, either. He had to have a job ontop of all the schoolwork he was required to do to help his mother pay off the payments for attending a private high school. His father is out of the picture, having died before Jae was even born. He and his mother were extremely close, and even though they struggled at times, they never let their bond break.
Jae was 16 the year he died. He was a big fan of Pokémon, owning every game possible and knowing every small detail. He was harassed and bullied for his interests, and was always considered a nerd, barely having any friends. He was considered an outcast, and was always excluded of things other students did. He was very intelligent though, and did well in school.
Of course, that didn't matter to the other students.
Nearing the end of the year, staff had presented a field trip, one that would last three days, to hike Mt Hallasan. It was winter, however, so the mountain was covered in snow, so students were told to be extra prepared and to be cautious and stay within their assigned groups and to NOT leave the trail.
Jae wasn't going to go, but his mother had insisted on it, saying it would be a fun experience, and that he deserves a break anyways. So he went.
Not having any friends is why the whole trip backfired on Jae's side.
He was paired with kids who had commonly made fun of him, and being on an exciting field trip was no excuse. They'd constantly steal his things, such as his small console he kept with him in which he'd play his favorite games on. Or sometimes jackets or blankets he so very needed.
He was miserable and wanted to go home, but it was too late to turn back by the time the though occured to him.
On the second to last night, when their group had finally managed to reach the top, they thought it'd be funny to fall behind their supervisor, to walk with Jae, who walked behind all of them, to suddenly act like friends, forcing them all to walk slower and slower until the supervisor was far enough ahead to where he didn't notice one of the girls start pushing him as they resumed their bullying tactics. She kept pushing and pushing, trying to get him to fight, but Jae wasn't the fighting time.
She got angry, and kept pushing, until, before someone could say something, she pushed him over the edge of the trail, down a steep hill.
They ran off.
Didn't look back, didn't bother to try and help him. Instead, they ran, not wanting to be caught at the scene.
The impact left Jae scratched up and bruised. One arm was broken. He couldn't get back up to the trail, especially with a broken arm. He tried to find a way down the mountain, a way to find help. But night fell quickly and made it impossible to see. The temperatures dropped. His limbs began to freeze as he got colder and colder. He kept his bag close, scared. Scared, alone, nearing death. He kept going until he physically couldn't. Until his body gave out and left him a lying heap in the snow.
He died. Cold. Frozen, black limbs. Alone, scared, wishing he stayed home with his mother. Oh, and how the news broke her when her sons body was eventually discovered.
His soul was sucked into his console, into the very game world he loved, due to dark magics of some sort that I might explain in another post.
He lost any memory of his former life. He didn't know why he was so sad, why he was always scared, why he didn't like the cold. He didn't have the answers to his questions. He still doesn't to this day, even after exiting the console by the force of Slenderman and with the help of Ben.
He is yet to remember his past. But perhaps for now its a mercy that he doesn't.
---
ANYWAYS yeah that's my take on Lost Silver. Its kinda shitty and definitely not canon but it's whatever.
Moving on, I finally have the icons done that I'll be using for the relationship chart!
Tumblr media
All I have to do now is digitalize them, make the chart, and boom, it'll be done. FinaLLY. so expect that MAYBE later today or tomorrow, we'll find out and see which happens first.
Now, about the character refs. I plan on doing them for Ben(which is done), Jeff(Hes next), Toby, Liu, and EJ, as they'll probably be the most frequently seen on the blog.
I would like to mention the fact my ref for Ben was a total flop. Its quite saddening especially since I spent more than a day on it, but its in the past, and can't control everyone's preferences. Hopefully the ones in the future will be more appealing, and if not, oh well, that just means I've got work to do and revamping and redoing them, because there's always room for improvement. I'd like to thank everyone real quick for the support I've already received so far, because even if the ref was a flop, im still extremely grateful for everything else!
Anyways thats the end of my super long post thank you goodbye im going to sleep this was too much writing

do you think andalites would consider needing glasses a disability?
Okay, this question is fascinating because it really gets at the what the Social Model of Disability means by disability being situation-specific and society-constructed.
The Social Model defines disability as any bodily difference that is treated as abnormal, undesirable, and incorrect by society. For example, some types of facial scarring fit, and others don't. Harrison Ford and Jason Momoa likely don't count, because their facial scarring is widely considered normal or neutral. Seal and Kane Hodder might count as disabled, because Seal has endured many rude comments on his appearance and Hodder has been barred from a lot of roles due to his. If this seems arbitrary and cruel, then that's because discrimination is, in fact, arbitrary and cruel. A person with a cast on their arm is treated as infirm and needing help, albeit temporarily; a person with a compression brace on their arm gets the prosthesis ignored or othered. Deafness is a disability if no one around knows Sign and assistive technology is stigmatized; it stops being a disability the moment 3+ Deaf people hang out together. It really is that arbitrary, whom society treats as being disabled.
Anyway, within that framework, I would say that needing glasses used to count as a disability, but doesn't anymore.
Glasses certainly used to be stigmatized, because that's ableism for you. I have two loved ones (spouse, high school BFF) who A. can't read the top row of an eye chart that's 3' away, B. love learning and school, and C. refused to wear glasses in the 1990s even though it made learning impossible, because of the bulllying they got for needing lenses. And those are just the ones I know. I think about both of those kids, voracious learners who sacrificed their ability to read the board in order to avoid stigma, and I compare them to the (at least two) kids I know today who endure unneeded pain because they're too ashamed to use their canes in public.
However, there was a change in the mid-naughts. More and more TV characters had glasses, and not just the socially incompetent nerds anymore. Harry Potter becoming the icon of the naughts with glasses (and facial scarring!) probably helped. Fashion models wearing those black plastic frames certainly helped. A critical mass of so many young people needing corrective lenses (because of increased screentime in childhood) definitely helped move glasses away from "abnormal".
One signal for me that glasses no longer count as a disability is It (2019). The It novel and 1998 movie portray Richie Tozier's needing glasses as his qualification for the Losers Club — a group of kids who are friends because for various reasons (fatness, minority status, poverty, etc.) they're not allowed to fit in and will never fit in. The 2017-19 It movies give Richie glasses, but make it clear that he qualifies for the Losers Club not because he's myopic but because he's queer. (For example, he's chased by a living eyeball in the book, but the movie instead has him attacked while carving his initials next to another boy's.) A related example is the subtitles for Ouran High School Host Club; Honey's line from the scene where Kyoya gets hit in the face was translated in 2006 as "Bully! You can't hit someone who wears glasses!" but in 2022 as "Bully! You knocked his glasses off!", which suggests glasses are no longer viewed as an infirm condition.
So. I think an andalite would have to have any disability explained to them before they started stigmatizing it, because wheelchair use only counts as a disability because people make rude comments and refuse to build elevators. And I think that an andalite who arrived on Earth in 1996 might develop a different view from one who arrived in 2022. But it'd also depend on what part of Earth they explored, who they talked to, and a million other horribly arbitrary factors that determine whose body gets counted as being "wrong" by society.

Otto Octavius / Doc Ock kin list
+ why I kin them
Slight trigger warning to generally sensitive subjects. No real naming, but implied about some things.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Comic book Otto / Doc Ock
Tumblr media
His childhood is very similar to mine, especially with his father. Carbon copy of my father if I had to put it simply. From many things I'd rather not share. But if you read the comic, that's a lot of what I went through personally. Also how Otto drowned himself in science, especially when something traumatic or out of routine happened. Completely disconnecting from people to consume himself in science. I did that often as a kid when I got extremely stressed. Added bonus is that Otto was seriously bullied for endless years. From about his appearance, to being into science. As I was too.

TSSM Otto / Doc Ock
Tumblr media
Before the accident, Otto was highly sensitive. He was easily pushed around, ordered & wasn't taken seriously. Though when introduced to a project, he'd go on about how it was made, what it'd do, etc. Info-dumping & rambling. Something I do when I get a chance to talk about my hyperfixations or passions. But Otto is seen to get overwhelmed / overestimated & lashes out when this occurs. Also invisions a thought when upset. Hiding his true feelings & opinions.
I'm an extremely sensitive person & can get easily overwhelmed. I cry easily, I can simply be controlled if in fear or just being a people pleaser, etc. As a kid, I was never taken seriously. I studied advanced sciences since elementary school & people just saw me as a nerd. I also never stood up to my bullies, so I was often seen as weak & a huge pushover. But I'd always invision different things to push my anger down.

USM Otto / Doc Ock
Tumblr media
One thing I've never shared with a fictional character was a complex. He has an inferiority complex, just as I do. It's probably in every Doc Ock out there, but specifically his is like mine. Coming from being pushed around, used, abused, taunted, manipulated & so much trauma. He's easily irritated & annoyed when degraded & picked on. He also lashes out & is nearly always angry at something or someone. Pretty straight forward anger issues. But even after all that, still ends up being easily manipulated, even when he claims he'll soon be on his own & no one dictate what he can and can't do.
As someone who came from abuse, being bullied for years on end, being used, manipulated by many people, etc, I saw myself in USM Otto in many ways. I have also ODD. As a little kid when everything was at its worst, I was more aggressive to people. But as I got older, I became aggressive to myself. During severe episodes, yes I can grow violent & experience extreme anger. I also suffer with anger issues. Mainly connected to my inferiority complex. Which I began developing in middle school.

SM2-NWH Otto / Doc Ock
Tumblr media
One big thing was grief becoming greed. After the failure of his artificial sun, then it killing his wife, & finally the chip for the actuators fusing to him, Otto broke. Lost most control of himself due to the arms, taken over by grief & guilt, then losing his life's work. His only way out? Doing what he fits necessary to get his fusion reactor right. Because that's all he had left. Then when finally realizing his mistakes, he gives up his only hope to save people. To give up what he's worked his whole life towards. His dream. He didn't want to die a villain.
I lost my childhood. Especially due to my father. Not to mention bullying, forced to mature, piles of trauma, and so on. But my anger rested in my father. He took away too much from me & I wanted to take back my rightful revenge. The grief I had from a lost childhood soon became greed to get revenge on my father to get the closure of what I never really had. But my revenge also contained my bullies, people who've done other cruel things to me and such. It was all I had left. This anger & plain to make people repay. But soon after I moved, I realized it won't fix anything. It won't heal anything. No closure. Just more pain. I didn't want to be last seen as a villain.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Welp, that's it. I have no real reason that I wrote all of this, but hey, now it's out there I suppose. Anywho, please no rude comments or anything. I kin to cope most of the time & Otto is my top kin & means a great deal to me. So yeah 🐙

I don't know why, but since I read the synopsis for the season 5 episode with the truck crashing into a high school homecoming parade... I feel this craving for the 118 to go down memory lane about high school times.
So I keep headcanoning about everyone talking about how horrible, embarrassing, or annoying certain things were back then. The bullies. The pranks. The strict teachers that never bothered to understand the kids or listen to their concerns. Detention. Annoying school trips. How some always felt left out coz they were the nerds or whatever else. So basically everyone shares some embarrassing or even sad high school tale.
Buck's listening intently all the while and flashes that super adorable dorky smile, probably even more when he learns some fun fact about Eddie (would totally love for Eddie to admit that he did dance and drama and stuff and for Buck to get all hot and bothered over it).
So then someone asks Buck to share something, too. And maybe someone who's not necessarily part of the firefam then jokes (and really, all good-natured and not in a mean way) that Buck probably doesn't have anything to add as he was surely one of the popular kids. And Buck just gets that funny look on his face, but before anyone can elaborate, they are called back to action.
Maybe a wild giraffe appears again, who knows.
But Eddie *notices*. Of course he does. Because he's head over heels swooning and mooning over his partner. Ah my oblivious gays, I mean guys.
So back at the station, everyone is still talking about it, and then Eddie feels the need to ask Buck specifically about it. And while especially the firefam know that Buck is a great guy and what he's been through as a kid thanks to the shitty parents, most of the station is still pretty sold on the idea that he probably was one of the popular kids that never would've hung out with the "nerds and losers" at that age.
Then Buck gets that funny look again, and he just shrugs and points out that he didn't put on muscle until way later in his high school years. So he was a lanky kid that just constantly had his arm in a cast and whose parents weren't really at the forefront to cheer him on once he got into school sports. And he wasn't the brightest, so the supposed nerds only ever rolled their eyes when they got teamed up with him for a project. And later on towards his senior year, he'd tried so hard to be liked that his peers noticed and made fun of him behind his back, but he kept at it anyway. You know, for the attention and all.
And Buck's all "I don't sweat it anymore" and seems genuine about it, pointing out that he's happy as a clam with what he got now. And maybe it all ebbs into a conversation with everyone talking about the things that were great during school despite it all.
Coz I think it'd be a nice way to show different (bad) experiences people go through. That bullying can take on different forms and that it isn't just the "popular" kids that can be mean at times. And that just because someone may have been "popular" doesn't mean you're immune to shitty experiences, growing up. And that what matters most is what you make out of the cards you've been handed.
And if Buck then drops kind of just as casually "And then the football team caught me making out with a guy from the baseball team in the locker rooms after I'd just ended my short relationship with a cheerleader... which created some confusion. But it was damn well worth it."
So Buck could just casually work into conversation that he's been bi since high school, and Eddie can go into gay panic mode.
So yeah, strange headcanons, my folks!
