Practice Run - Part 1, Chapter 1
This is MHA Twice x Fem!Reader fanfic. Here's the inspiration!
You think if twice had a crush on reader but never confronted them about his feelings so instead he uses a clone of reader to practice romance and even gets spicy with the clone
I could totally see moments where hes feeling unstable and he makes the clone and just in a weak voice asks the clone reader to hold them together (cuddles ) sfw sorry
Imagine him making the clone reader and asking them to give him words of comfort too: you are okay, you are loved, etc
This is certainly a passion project, and one that is already completed, so I'll be uploading more soon! There's 10 chapters in total
[P1, Chp. 2], [P1, Chp. 3], [P2, Chp. 4], [P2, Chp. 5] [P2, Chp. 6], [P3, Chp. 7], [P3, Chp. 8], [P3, Chp. 9], [P3, Chp. 10]
Special thanks to Ray, hidiggity, and Booka! Dedicated to the Server of Villains!
This is my first ever fic, so please bear with me ;w;
Twice x reader | Twice x fem!reader | Mostly fluff, some angst | Jin Bubaigawara | Dabi | Himiko Toga | Tomura Shigaraki | League of Villains | Reader with a quirk
Word count: ~1.7k
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You had been a part of the league for almost a year now, yet Jin Bubaigawara, also known as Twice, had no idea how to tell you how he felt.
When you first joined, it was so great to make a new friend! But as time went on, with every mission you were on together, every conversation you both had and every moment you spent alone together, a fluttering feeling began to build up in his chest. Before he knew it, Twice fell in love with you.
Somehow, he managed to keep it to himself; no one else knew. Any flirtatious comment that Twice accidentally let slip, it was easy to dismiss it as another one of his personalities spouting something random, as usual. That piece of knowledge slightly eased his embarrassment each time it happened, but still, it was agonizing to think that, at any moment, someone would take it seriously, that he would be outed, and worse case scenario, rejected by you. The thought of losing you as a friend tied his stomach into knots, but it was almost painful to keep bottling up the sheer joy of getting to spend time with you, especially when it was just the two of you.
Much like the previous night…
A fight had broken out in the streets between some members of the league and a handful of UA students. The league was split into teams for that night, with each team pulling off their own part for an overall mission. Dabi and Mr. Compress were in a team together, then Toga and Twice, and then Shigaraki, Spinner, and you. Everything seemed to go off perfectly, until no one heard from Toga and Twice in a while. After half an hour of searching for them across town, you all came across the two of them beaten up pretty badly and taped to a wall. Sirens wailed not too far away, meaning it was a matter of time before the police would show up to apprehend them. Shigaraki decayed the tape holding them to the wall and all of you made a break for it to the hideout. Once everyone was safe there, they all checked in on eachother.
Toga and Twice both had a few sprains, terrible bruises, and a fracture or two, but Twice insisted that this was totally normal for a mission to ease your worries. It did not, but at least he tried. Thankfully, you had become a key member of the league; with your quirk, Nerve, you had the ability to manipulate nerves in the human body. You were able to relax the tension in their muscles and ligaments, and numb the pain around any fractured bones. It would still take some time to heal on their own, but the pain was completely gone.
Twice let out a heavy sigh of relief as he laid back on a dirty old couch, while you sat across from him on a broken chair. “Heh, thanks-- YEAH, THANKS FOR NOTHING! We’re really lucky to have you here!”
You learned pretty quickly how Twice’s split personalities worked, so you didn’t take any harsh remarks personally. “Hey, it’s nothing much, I’m just doing my job,” you waved dismissively, although you were flattered nonetheless.
“You always do such a great job, though-- you could probably do better. Look, I can’t even feel a thing!-- You make me feel like my heart’s on fire!” In that moment, Twice thanked whatever higher power was out there that he still had his mask on, because his face was completely blushed.
You chuckled and waved away again. You didn’t know how Twice felt about you, but you felt the same way as he did. Every time he praised your hard work, you could barely get any words out. There were so many butterflies in your stomach, all you could do was smile and wave. At his last sentence, you felt so elated and nervous, you weren’t sure that you could even get up from your seat.
“Whenever you guys are done yapping, you two should go to bed. I’m exhausted, and I can’t really sleep when everyone around me is talking,” Dabi huffed.
“You think you’re exhausted, look at us!” Toga argued, gesturing to her and Twice’s injuries.
“It looks like we’re all pretty beat right now,” Shigaraki spoke up. “The mission was a success, even though some heroes tried to ruin our night. Go get some rest, you’ve all earned it. We’ll have plenty of more things to do in the future.”
“You said it!-- Hey, don’t you think we can have a little more time to heal?!” Twice exclaimed.
“Don’t worry about it. There’ll be enough time for that until the next part of our plan is ready,” Shigaraki assured.
“Phew, you had me worried there for a sec-- I’m ready for anything!”
“Get out of here, already,” Dabi retorted before kicking back in a chair against a wall and putting his legs up on a ratty old table. It looked like an uncomfortable set up, but whatever worked, you guessed.
“I think I’m gonna head out and get some fresh air,” you tiredly sighed. You knew you needed some rest as well, but the butterflies in your stomach weren’t going to let you sleep any time soon.
The same went for Twice. “I’ll come with you!-- I really need a cigarette.” He didn’t know what he was doing since he knew that spending time with you would only excite him when he needed sleep, but he really did want a cigarette.
Once Twice stood up, Toga immediately slid and laid across the couch, claiming the space as hers for the night. “Goodnight!” she cheered and snuggled up. You and Twice both smiled, happy that she got a comfortable spot to sleep. You both wished her a goodnight in return, then followed each other out. When you both left, Toga peeked her eyes open and tried to listen through the door that led outside. Twice was certain that no one knew he was in love with you, but he underestimated how well Toga knew her best friend. A part of her could just tell that something about Twice was different around you, and she knew you felt the same way towards him by the look in your eyes and an especially wide smile you had only when you were with him. You guys got this! She cheered you both on in her head.
Through the door, there was a balcony overlooking the town, albeit the run-down side of town. The bright city lights glowed further on in the distance. Behind you, you heard the flicking of a lighter, then a drag of breath. Your adrenaline shot up a little. Both you and Twice leaned on the rail looking out over the scene. The way the distant city glow lit up your face sent his heart into a frenzy; he puffed anxiously at his cigarette and struggled to look you in the eyes.
You occasionally glanced over at Twice and considered asking him if he was okay, but every time you looked at him, you were speechless. His mask was lifted just enough to uncover his mouth, so you could see his well-defined jaw and his scruff lining it in perfect view. You held back the extreme urge to place a hand on the side of his face to see how warm his skin felt, or to hold the hand that so casually held his cigarette. When he felt you looking at him, he would keep putting the cigarette back in his mouth and take a long drag to prevent the risk of himself from saying anything stupid that could ruin the moment.
Talk to her, dammit! Say something!
Just be patient, don’t rush yourself.
The moment is perfect!
You’re gonna blow it.
Come on man, you got this!
Twice quickly grabbed his head with his free hand and shushed himself. The suddenness of it made you flinch, and he did a double take. “OH! Uh, sorry, I didn’t mean to spook you-- What are you staring at?”
“No, no, it’s alright! No worries!” you replied. “Are…you okay?”
“Y-yeah! Just a little tired, y’know?!” It was taking every fiber of his being to keep himself together.
Come on, what the hell is wrong with you?!
She’s so pretty.
Tell her how you feel!
What are you, an idiot?
“It’s, uh, really beautiful tonight, huh? Not as beautiful as you~” he shifted the subject.
You smiled and quickly turned away. You looked out to the city and gazed into the night sky in awe. “Yeah…it’s gorgeous.” You looked back at Twice and debated on what you should say. “I’m glad to be standing out here with you right now. It’s been a while since we got to talk one-on-one. I’ve…kinda missed it,” you managed out. You could feel your knees shaking and prayed that he didn’t notice.
He wanted to scream. “Y-yeah, I know right?-- It’s not like we have anything to talk about.” Beads of sweat formed on Twice’s forehead, and he knew he was starting to lose his composure.
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
I can’t do this, I can’t do this!
He lost the will to keep going. “Man, I am so tired, I think it’s time to go!!” Twice snuffed out his cigarette on the railing and flicked it away. “Awesome talking to you, though!-- This was awful,” and with that, he immediately darted back inside and down the hall.
You stood there for a moment in complete shock and silence. “D-did I say something wrong?” you asked yourself with a horribly heavy heart. He was hardly halfway through his cigarette before he quit and ran away. You could feel tears welling in your eyes, but you fought them back. “I’m…I’m sure everything is okay. I guess he really was tired, if he… if he couldn’t make it through just one…one cigarette.” You took a shaky breath and tried to bottle it up. You were the support of the league, after all. You always had to keep a brave face. You slowly pulled yourself back into the hideout and looked for a room that was decent enough to sleep in, and private enough to keep anyone from asking if you were alright. Toga watched you go into a room and sighed; she heard all of it. Come on…I have faith in you guys! I know it’ll all work out…somehow, she thought before eventually drifting off.

post-canon jundori .. i think the two would run a flower shop. they both have side hustles: junpei with his baseball coaching in canon and chidori? freelance artist
after chidori loses her persona and memory, i don’t think there would be much reason for the kirijo group (😒) to remain involved in the pair’s life, aside from junpei’s p4au plot about being a part of the organisation’s reserve operatives. i think of it similar to a military enlistment contract, he is legally obliged to assist in operations if they call on him but that is a rare occurance that he doesn’t exactly invite/enjoy
junpei isn’t close to anyone in sees but he also hasn’t cut them off. just sorta distant friends/acquaintances, as most schoolmates are
i feel like some ppl will get pissy if i make no mention of strega so uh Yeah takaya and jin are dead and idk if chidori would remember them. maybe she’d see someone with long hair and tattoos, or glasses and a green jacket, and feel a wistful pain that she doesn’t understand
they wouldn’t stay in iwatodai. junpei’s abusive upbringing, chidori’s suffering at the hands of the kirijos and being discarded on the streets, the events of p3? even with chidori’s memory loss, i wouldn’t be surprised if both suffered from ptsd to some extent after all they went through
inconsequential location tangent: while there’s dispute amongst fans, most agree that iwatodai is based off of areas of tokyo and inaba is based on fuefuki, a couple hours west of tokyo. in p4au, junpei gets on a train with its final stop in inaba. all this to say, i think the pair relocated to a town between iwatodai and inaba, with a train that runs between both
no kids. just sayin’. i really do not see chidori as being a maternal person and junpei wouldn’t mind either way. at best, they would be parental figures to a kid that junpei coaches. new character in p6 atlus make it happen
three cats and one dog (guess who wanted the dog 🧢)
finally, the elephant in the room: i genuinely do not know how chidori’s amnesia would affect her standard of living bc i’m not a doctor. and evidently neither is anyone at atlus bc they never get into it. all we know is that, regardless of how this affects the message of p3, p4au is canon and therefore chidori survives (what is technically) her suicide attempt and is in a relationship with junpei two years on from the events of p3
end of post, jundori forever ❤️💙

Who are your fav persona 3 people!!!
[cracks knuckles] I'm glad you asked
So! I don't actively /dislike/ anyone in the p3 cast, but some of them definitely speak to me more than others:
First things first: Ryoji. Love that guy. He's so silly. And so tragic. And he makes me sad. (Like holy SHIT I wasn't expecting a reprise of his song in the stage play on December 31st but it TOOK ME OUT) (also Ryomina my love)
The whole Shinji, Ken, and Akihiko trio ALSO lives in my head rent free... two idiots and their son. love them. I've been desperately scouring for Akishinji content and between that, Ryomina, and Shuake, I've come to realise that my shipping habits seem to boil down to "doomed yaoi" HAHA
More on Ken, I have a LOT of thoughts about how he and Akechi would interact and (likely) get along. Whether that be in the p5 era or a situation a la Throw Away Your Mask. (Or, something I've yet to find: Akechi with no time travel shenanigins getting in on the p3 plot. You can bet THAT'S a longfic idea I've got rattling around) (Also the half-brothers headcanon is super fun. Especially when combined with Futago siblings. Congratulations, Shido! All your kids are persona users, and they all hate you! :D)
Aigis! She's just. Infinitely charming. She'll say something that will absolutely take me out and then turn around and say something devestating HAHA. I also think that her and Ryoji's social link and linked episodes respectively do a LOT of thematic work in the story. Death himself and the girl that can't die, both trying to figure out how to live (y'all that shit's METAL)
Strega are so interesting to me... I don't think they're perfect villains- I think their motivation is underexplored and a bit choppy, but ASIDE from that, I really like all three of them as characters. Idk why Jin is so funny to me LMAO he's so in love with Takaya and Takaya's just like "k. met your quota yet?" (But, also, some of Takaya's lines definitely imply that he cares about Jin too, but doesn't let himself acknowledge that at all due to his whole "attachments are weakness" shtick, another thematic point to contest his ideology, as he is actively denying himself happiness in pursuit of some idea of salvation)
Chidori- I like her well enough. Some of her lines really did make me smile, but I think she's another case of "underdeveloped" (I actually read Throw Away Your Mask before I played p3r, so that fic did a lot of the heavy lifting for my like of Chidori (and, by extension, Jundori) i think)
Which leads nicely into: Junpei! He's da man. Nuff' said. HAHA if you can't tell, I love Junpei. Awkward dudebro stuff aside (though it's occasionally part of his charm), I really love his development and personality in general. I really love how all the "bro" characters across the modern three persona games, while fulfilling the same archetype, are all distinct in personality and motivation and I love them ALL
Mitsuru is quite interesting to me, but I think she might be a case of "I wish her social link was about something else". Personal preference of course, but I kind of wish that it focused more on this intense guilt she seems to have for things that a) weren't her fault, and b) happened when she was 7 or younger. THAT is a super interesting mindset to explore, imo, though I did find her social ineptitude charming haha
Yukari... I think that she might grow on me more later. I can feel it in my bones. I suppose I'll find out with The Answer dlc! I know broadly what happens in it, but I haven't actually seem a playthrough of it, nor do I really know what happens to all the characters. I think my opinion of Yukari might have been tainted slightly by everyone having such strong opinions HAHA- I definitely like her, but I don't think she's clicked just yet. (I did really like her social link, though!) (also Yukamitsu I love Yukamitsu. The lesbians aren't doomed! Good for them)
Okay this is going to upset some people probably but Koromaru isn't really much of a character and I keep forgetting about him LMAO. uh. he's a good boy?
Fuuka... I really think that she's just underdeveloped. Her social link didn't really do her any favours in my eyes (I'm SO glad that atlus cut the "girl learns to cook" social link in p5 HAHA i really didn't like it with Yukiko either) Her social link obviously isn't just the cooking shenanigins, but it overshadows the bits of character growth that happen intermittently. I think that her SL really would have benefitted from being more about her love of electronics, if anything, since that isn't explored AT ALL and is more a plot device than a character trait. (Plus, the root of all her self-esteem issues go unadressed, which I think would have been a good character beat otherwise) (In saying this I think Fuuka/Natsuki is very cute. The lesbians stay winning in p3)
Makoto/Minato! Honestly, I was pretty neutral towards him from the majority of the fics I had read before playing p3r. I really like his characterisation in Throw Away Your Mask and The Twilight Wants Him Back, but those had been outliers in my mind. I started liking him more and more after playing p3r, and NOW, after having watched 1/4 of the p3 movies- oh boy. boy oh boy. I really like him now HAHA. Having his apathy actually effect his realtionships with SEES early on is super interesting and I love when it's done. (plus, I think Yukari hating him at first really strengthens their friendship later on)
Uh this post is already super long so for all the other plot-relavant characters and confidants I'm just gonna say "it's a secret" and melt into a bush or something
(tysm for the ask! You can tell I was waiting for an excuse to talk about this HAHA)
(btw y'all shoud read the fics I mentioned in this- they're excellent)
#persona 3#persona 3 reload#persona 3 spoilers#asks#The lesbians really are winning in p3#good for them... good for them!#HAHA anyways I'm DEFINITELY going to write these characters at some point#long post#loooong post#whoops

I feel like the main problem with how Strega (Takaya and Jin, at least) are written is just about the game desperately wanting them to remain excessively unlikable until after they are defeated, which is…bizarre and unnecessary, to say the least. They are never actually doing anything of importance, so the narrative relies on "dehumanizing" them into stock villains, to give the players some reason to dislike or, at least, oppose them on a personal level, hence the lack of meaningful characterization. Jin's November comment about SEES "not having a clue what will happen if the Dark Hour disappears", impliedly being about the memory wipeout, since Takaya told them outright they would lose their powers earlier, is the perfect example of this, imo. He gets cut off mid-sentence, so he doesn't spoil it for later, naturally, but it's never brought up again, after eventually being reveled by Ryoji, because that is actually a pretty solid reason for them to antagonize the protagonists (imagine waking up on the streets, with no personal documents, feeling awfully sick and wondering why no one is looking for you!) but, again, they are yet to be defeated and not meant to come off as even remotely sympathetic until then. It's just very…unskillful writing. Sorry for the long message, btw, I initially just wanted to leave a regular comment, actually, but there's just so many words it apparently wouldn't fit in less than five separate responses 😵💫
yoooo thanks for the input. thats also a really good way of looking at it! the game needing to make them unlikeable pretty much explains things. it just ends up being really goofy. which is a shame because they really do have great backstories that remain largely unexplored.
Jin's November comment about SEES "not having a clue what will happen if the Dark Hour disappears", impliedly being about the memory wipeout, since Takaya told them outright they would lose their powers earlier
honestly? i never made this connection myself so thanks for telling me! i could see that being true and i'm about to hit that point in my replay game soon myself so i can look at it with this context. question is how could jin have possibly have known this info... my guess is ikutsuki could have fed them that info since he also supplied them with his suppressant drugs, plus they even knew about the Ruin thing that Nyx could have brought about. honestly, including ikutsuki the "antagonists" of p3 are an interesting bunch with how much potential they have that's not really explored but i guess thats just a hashino persona game thing.
also i just think between them and ikutsuki i def see strega having more sympathetic light being shone on them since they were the direct victims of old kirijo's depravity. out of all the kids, only they survived? your comment about them "not having any personal documents" just strikes me as so fcked up. damn. hope it changes a bit in reload.

Sins of the fathers p3 / On AO3
The morning after Jin Ling had that talk with his mother, Jin Ruyi came early to her brother's door to pick up her brother-in-law. She was pretty cheerful about it, even when it turned out that Wen Yuan had failed to wake up at the agreed hour.
This was all part of Jiang Yanli's plan to help her son-in-law feel more comfortable in his new home. Wen Yuan might have turned down all of Jin Ling's attempts at cordiality, but he hadn't dared be that rude toward his mother-in-law. So it had been decided that from that point forward, Wen Yuan would join Jiang Yanli and the children for breakfast and then spend the day with them. Jin Bai was still young enough that he was in class only half of the day, and the twins's lessons were also fairly short, because the Jin sect currently didn't try hard to educate female disciples. With those three as company, in addition to Jiang Yanli and the baby, Wen Yuan wasn't going to stay shy very long.
Still, that first morning was a little difficult. Mostly because Jin Ruyi didn't like to wait. She must have been warned to be forgiving with her brother-in-law though, so instead she scolded Jin Ling for not waking his husband.
“I've tried,” he retorted, rolling his eyes as he often did around her. “You go and see if you can do better!”
“Of course I can,” Jin Ruyi claimed, confidently walking into Wen Yuan's room.
Watching her go, Jin Ling almost pitied his husband. Jin Ruyi was an annoying brat with more ego than brain, who hated to lose and didn't care much about being rude. Some people said she was very much like Jin Ling, for all that her twin and her had their mother's gentle face. Jin Ling himself found no resemblance between them. Jin Ruyi was just supremely annoying most of the time, though he couldn't deny they made a good team whenever they were angry at the same thing.
At the moment, Jin Ruyi being rude and annoying was an asset. She really managed to get Wen Yuan to leave his bed and get ready much faster than Jin Ling could ever have managed. She then dragged him out of the house, and Jin ling didn't see him again until dinner in common with the rest of the family.
The same thing repeated the next day, and then the one after, until that became the new habit.
After about a week, Wen Yuan was used enough to this new rhythm that he no longer had to be dragged out of bed. If anything, he was regularly fully dressed before Jin Ling woke up, and waiting for one of the twins to pick him up. Jin Ling took that as a sign that his husband was happy with the new way his days went on. Wen Yuan never confirmed it, but his eager wait for the girls, and the way he finally started putting on some weight, were good hints of his enjoyment.
There were apparently more overt signs of Wen Yuan's improved happiness, but Jin Ling was not privy to those. Around him his husband remained perfectly silent and closed off, the same he'd always been. But according to Jin Bai and the twins, he was very different with them and Jiang Yanli.
“He always plays with us when we asks,” Jin Ruyi claimed when Jin Ling caught the twins and Jin Bai one day to interrogate them. “And he laughs at all my jokes.”
Jin Ling nodded. That was fair. Jin Ruyi was annoying, but she could also be pretty funny when she wanted (although never as much as Jin Dongmei, whose subtle remarks could be as dangerous as they were hilarious, especially when she felt like being insolent to their grandfather without him ever appearing to realise it)
“He also laughs at BaiBai's jokes too,” Jin Ruyi added.
Jin Ling raised an eyebrow. His little brother, aged ten, was sweet and adorable and nearly perfect in many ways, but he couldn't tell a joke properly to save his life. He was too much like their father for that.
“He also likes mom a lot,” Jin Ruyi went on.
“Everyone likes mom,” Jin Ling immediately retorted.
“But he liked her even before he met her!” his sister insisted. “His dad had told him about her. Stories about when he was little, and she took care of him. They talk about that a lot. I had no idea mom had so many stories about Wei Wuxian!”
Jin Dongmei nodded quietly when Jin Ling looked at her for confirmation. Jin Ruyi was known to sometimes exaggerate her stories, but Jin Dongmei was usually a trustworthy source, unless she felt like supporting her sister’s boasts for a laugh.
“It must be a shock for him to learn that the Yiling Patriarch used to be a funny kid,” Jin Ling said.
Unlike his sisters, he’d heard many stories about Wei Wuxian when he was younger. At the time, there had still been hope that Yiling might turn into a normal sect. Even if Wei Wuxian had been unable to come to Jin Ling's hundred day celebration for reasons unknown to him, in secret good relationships had been maintained for a while. But a couple years after the twins were born, the Burial Mounds had stopped all communication with the rest of the world. Everyone there might as well have been dead, except for Wei Wuxian and his Ghost General going into town sometimes to exact violence onto men who had claimed links to the Yiling sect to terrorise ordinary folks. After that, Jiang Yanli and Jiang Cheng had stopped sharing stories about their childhood friend, so the twins and Jin Bai mostly knew Wei Wuxian as a boogeyman of sorts, the same as every other children.
“No, he’s never too surprised,” Jin Ruyi replied. “He said the Yiling Patriarch is still kind of like that, and still likes to laugh and joke.”
Again Jin Ling turned to Jin Dongmei, who nodded solemnly.
“He really said that,” she confirmed, before pouting pensively. “He said when he was little, one time his father buried him and told him he’d grow like a radish if he was watered. But then… he stopped talking for a while, and he looked sad.” She paused, looking concerned. “I think he misses home.”
“Why would he miss home?” Jin Ruyi scoffed, rolling her eyes. “Here we have all the good food he can want, and pretty silk clothes, and we have flowers, and birds… Ge, he was so excited when we showed him my birds! He said birds don’t sing like that in Yiling. If you’re a good husband, you should get him some birds, it’ll make him happy for sure!”
The twins had received a pair of birds from Nie Huaisang when they’d turned seven. Jin Dongmei hadn’t cared too much, but Jin Ruyi was obsessed with them and had obtained more in the years since. It was her opinion that everyone should have birds, so Jin Ling never listened when she suggested that. He was more of a dog person anyway, and didn’t see the point of pets that did nothing except sit in a cage all day. Still, he was willing to reconsider, if it could improve his marital life. He made a note to ask his mother. If she also thought it might make his husband dislike him less, then Jin Ling would spend all of his allowance on really nice birds.
He’d never have admitted it, not even under torture, but it was starting to annoy him that Wen Yuan was apparently opening up to everyone in the family except his own husband. Well, his own husband and of course Jin Guangshan and his wife, but nobody who joined the family was ever expected to like them, anyway. And maybe Wen Yuan was not really warming up to Jin Zixuan either, come to think of it. But he was getting on really well with his mother-in-law and Jin Ling’s siblings, and it was so frustrating.
Jin Ling knew Wen Yuan and him didn’t need to like each other. His grandparents had ensured he knew that much about married life. But since Wen Yuan and him lived together and would continue living together for years to come, he thought it’d be more comfortable if they could get along. His grandparents’ example had also taught him how unpleasant the alternative could be.
So Jin Ling tried. He did! He made sure to ask Wen Yuan about his plans in the morning, and asked him about his day in the evening. When they ate together, Jin Ling tried his best to notice which dishes Wen Yuan liked best, and he’d make a show of eating those first, so his husband knew these weren’t poisoned. Nothing worked, though. Wen Yuan never replied to his questions, and if he noticed what pain Jin Ling took to eat things he personally sometimes hated, all for his sake, he never thought that was worth even a ‘thank you’.
It was quickly becoming exhausting, and more than a little frustrating. There were evenings when Jin Ling wanted to shout at that cold husband he was stuck with, especially on days when Jin Chan had been particularly nasty. Or if he’d seen Wen Yuan smile at his siblings, his face so bright for a moment that he became really pretty, only to turn to ice at the sight of him. Sometimes Jin Ling felt like he might explode, except he wasn’t allowed to be angry like that. His mother had said she was proud of him for the way he’d dealt with everything. He wanted her to remain proud of him. He didn’t think she’d really stop loving him if he disappointed her, but he also didn’t want to risk it.
After all…
It was a very stupid thing to worry about. But one day, about a month after Jiang Yanli had started taking active interest in her new son-in-law, Jing Ling had overheard his cousin and some other boys talking in the gardens.
At that moment, he’d been crouched behind a bush, looking for some small wild flowers that occasionally grew around. The disciples in charge of the gardens would destroy them on sight, but Jin Dongmei found them pretty, so Jin Ling sometimes collected them for her, so she could replant them somewhere hidden. When he’d heard people coming that way, Jin Ling had been worried they’d seen him and mock him for doing something so silly and he'd tried to stay hidden to avoid explaining. But when he heard their conversation, he froze entirely.
“I hear she's sleeping with him, you know,” one boy was saying, an older teenager who had poor cultivation but rich parents. There were more than a few of those in the sect. ”Since Wen Yuan is the son of her first love!”
Jin Ling almost revealed himself by laughing. It wasn't the first time people accused his mother of once loving Wei Wuxian. He’d had that thrown at his face since before he could understand the insult. Whether that was true or not, he knew for a fact she would never betray the husband she had now, so he’d learned to ignore it. And as for having that sort of relationship with Wen Yuan… how could she, when the twins and Jin Bai were always around?
“No, you've got it wrong and it's worse than that,” Jin Chan claimed, and Jin Ling grimaced. Of course if someone was trying to badmouth his mother, his cousin was first in line. “He's not her lover. He's the son she secretly had with Wei Wuxian, before her marriage. Why else would she care so much about his education? He's her true first born… And she seems to like him more than the official one, not that I blame her. Even that half ghost kid is less of a pain in the ass than Jin Rulan!”
The boys started laughing as they passed by the bush where Jin Ling hid. he almost jumped in the middle of them to beat them up. His mother wouldn't…she hadn't! She would never! And even if she had, only the worst sort of monster would push one of their children to marry a half sibling!
Even if it was the only way to have him near, even if…
Anyway, Wen Yuan didn't look anything like Jiang Yanli, or Jin Ling, or any of Jin Ling's siblings, not even his youngest brother Jin Hui, a baby who everyone said took so much from the Jiang side. Jin Chan had to be blind if he couldn't see that. Or maybe he saw and didn't care, as long as the story made his friends laugh, as long as it made Jin Ling sound stupid.
And it wasn’t true either that Jiang Yanli liked Wen Yuan better than her eldest son. It couldn’t be true. Even if she barely had any time for him these days, hadn’t really had time for him in a long while, with four younger kids to raise and all the duties of a sect leader’s daughter-in-law. Even if she had made that time for Wen Yuan, a stranger.
Even if…
She couldn’t…
Long after his cousin and the others had walked away, Jin Ling had stayed crouched by that bush, with crushed little pale flowers in his hands. His eyes had burned from trying not to cry.
He hadn’t bothered asking Wen Yuan about his day that night.
Why should he keep trying anyway, when the other party thought he wasn’t worth any effort?

I finished the persona 3 manga today!
overall it's been a very mixed journey I'm not gonna lie 😭 Sogabe clearly improved his art and general writing a lot from when he started this to when this finished; heck, he even finished a manga for P4 before finishing the P3 manga.
like I dunno I think the best way I really could describe this manga is that it was mid. and that's a real shame because persona 3's story is incredible; the game(s) are great, the movies are great. but the main thing that really killed it for me was just how awful the pacing was. the story is told completely out of order (it essentially is a series of flashbacks leading up to Ryoji's reveal) and when I say it completely ruins the pacing, I genuinely mean it. it is all over the place; it makes no sense to anyone who may be unfamiliar with persona 3, and it is still just ??? for those who are. this issue alone really drags down the quality of the manga for me.
some of the early art just sucks too. off model, looks derpy. I know this was Sogabe's first manga, but it really does show unfortunately.
on the other hand, there are some fun highlights in the story. seeing the friendship between Minato, Aigis, and Ryoji is really nice, and Aigis even calls Ryoji her friend in the end, which is really sweet. there are some cute moments between various characters (the manga really pushes Shuyaka in particular). and honestly, after it's revealed who Ryoji is (and this is also where they stop really jumping back in time except for brief flashbacks), the quality of the pacing and story telling really does pick up. for example: they made the Jin fight in Tartarus really interesting by drawing parallels between him and Akihiko:
the nyx fight afterwards is pretty good, and the time leading up to the rooftop scene is handled very well too, with everyone struggling to remember their memories. I'm not a big fan of how they adapted the ending (loses a lot of the emotional impact that the game and movies had), but they had some subtle, nice details (notice Minato's speech bubbles being transparent, whereas Aigis's aren't)
overall? look, it's Persona 3, I can't hate this. but aside from some highlights here and there and the last few volumes, it just wasn't a great experience. I actually took a long break from this manga bc I had so little motivation to read it with how bad it was early on.

What are some characters that have a profound link to each other the I-don’t-know-where-you-begin-and-where-I-end, my-life-is-your-life, type link. Romantic or friendship
This is an interesting question and the reactions to my response may prove to be interesting as well but I find from what I have seen that this kind of link, this extremely intense I-don’t-know-where-you-begin-and-where-I-end-my-life-is-your-life link is done the best and with the most intensity when it comes to bromances/brothers.
Like in Bloodhounds. Their relationship isn’t just this
It’s Geon-woo giving Woo-Jin his blood
and the nurse saying that he's given as much as he can and him begging her to just keep drawing more and more so he can save him
It’s Woo-Jin willing to risk potential liver damage so Geon-woo doesn’t have to drink alcohol because it's against his principles
It’s how even though they’re very close with other people, those people can end up feeling left out when they’re around the two of them and the camera frames that third person through the two of them bickering like an old married couple to emphasize that they're not a part of what's happening even though they're all having the same conversation.
Or Merlin and Arthur. Or Dean and Sam. Or Hwi and Seon-ho
Bearing that in mind, bearing the complicated role Seon-Ho played in Yeon’s hostage situation, the fact that Hwi isn’t able to exist in a world in which Seon-Ho isn’t alive is an extraordinary testament to his affection for him
and Seon-Ho’s survival is framed as due to, in part, his ambitions and desire for vengeance but it’s also framed as surviving for Hwi because Hwi asked him to
And I find that we rarely see that level between female characters. This isn't to suggest that there isn't a sense of devotion with female characters.
Cristina and Meredith, they're soulmates, the twisted sisters,
but where Merlin and Arthur, for instance, will risk their lives to save each other, where one of them usually launches himself at danger so the other can leave but the one left behind refuses to actually go
Meredith and Cristina will have these moments with each other in relation to a love interest. Meredith isn't telling a gunman to shoot her to save Cristina it's save to Derek and Cristina isn't operating on Meredith with a gun to her head, she's operating on Derek because Meredith is begging her to. Meredith operates on Owen who gets shot trying to protect Cristina because Cristina asks her to
They love each other, they need each other, they're committed to their relationship, I believe all of that, they're one of my favourite friendship duos but that intense you-don't-understand-they-mean-everything-to-me-and-you-don't-know-what-I-will-do-for-them is not quite there.
Then you have something like Charmed and the Power of Three and they're stronger when they're together
and it's very much about the bond of sisterhood and it's meant to be relatable, like even with the demons and the monsters and the witches and the elders, they're sisters who tell each other how they feel, who borrow each other's clothes, who talk about their romantic lives, who support each other's dreams and have a club named after their bond (P3), who love each other and protect each other and will do anything for each other and you see how their bond affects them -- the grief of Prue's death causes Piper to become a fury
and it's well-executed but there isn't that level of high intensity, I will go to hell for you, I will end the world for you, I am nothing, nothing without you, who am I without you
I would literally rather die than see you replace me with someone else
because they're not supposed to be co-dependent.
From what I can recall, Boo and Fleabag are the closest to that type of intensity
and it's complicated because when her mother dies and she says she doesn't know where to put her love Boo tells her to put it all on her
so Boo is also wrapped up in Fleabag's grief about her mother and then Boo dies because of Fleabag's betrayal and the memory of Boo and Boo herself is so acute for Fleabag, particularly in season one, there's even an interpretation that when Fleabag addresses the audience, she's actually having a conversation with Boo and then there's that interview with Phoebe and her best friend and inspiration for Boo about writing that relationship and the ways in which it mirrored their own
but with the way that Fleabag portrays this, because Cristina and Meredith do the same thing, there's no sense of boundaries or division and that's what made Fleabag's betrayal so heartbreaking.
I ran out of space for gifs, if interested I can go on about other dynamics, lmao.

have you played fes or portable? it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on how they differ from reload to you!
oh i grew up playing FES & p3p!!!! i would love to go off
i won't lie, persona 3 is an extremely nostalgic and comforting game for me, so i was honestly terrified about a lot of p3r's changes. i remember reading articles months before the game came out about how all of the voice actors for SEES were new and how all of the tracks were gonna be remixed and i was legitimately terrified. i grew up with the original cast and got so attached to them/their careers that i looked up other media that they were in. to this day they are voice actors i can recognize and name right away!
the original soundtrack for p3 is so iconic too and i thought it'd lose its charm when it got remixed, but boy, was i wrong. the new battle theme (it's going down now), the lyrical changes to burn my dread - last battle, even the exam music and changing seasons. UGH, changing seasons has to be my absolute favorite of all of them... adding lyrics to the most catchy part is the best thing they could have done.
i will say (and this might be nostalgia talking), i am still really sad that yumi kawamura got replaced as the singer for nearly every song. i think the main songs that mess with me are the ones where her iconic vocals are replaced ("deep mentality" Specifically doesn't sound right with the new vocals imo), but on the whole, i like a ton of the new songs and the remixes.
onto things that aren't surface-level changes, lmao-
i absolutely adore the screentime they added for strega. they played a part in persona 3, but they were always in the background. chidori got 90% of the screentime. seeing takaya have a crisis over his feelings for the protag & jin being super codependent with takaya was SO good. hearing more about their reasoning and their backstory being more fleshed out ugh;;; the bit with the prototype evoker fucked me up especially. and seeing takaya eventually resort to using an evoker in his boss fight? HURTS
(aigis vc) RYOJI RYOJI RYOJI, DEATH DEATH DEATH. the original game (while playing as the male protagonist, at least) did not focus on the relationship between him and the protag, like...at all. which is so funny because they made it a highlight in the manga AND the movie! i've always loved ryoji to bits, but i've also had to rely a lot on the femc's route and the movie to think about how they could have bonded in the original :( thank god reload gave my boy more content because he NEEDED it. ryoji's connection to the protagonist should really be emphasized in every piece of media, and they FINALLY did it. also just about every day before i reached november, i would rant to my husband about how "there needs to be more ryoji/protag content. it doesn't HAVE to be on the level of "i'd love you even if you were a boy" but i need SOMETHING." and then atlus smacked me with "i want to be something more" and i LOST IT. THEY DID THE THING. atlus embracing the romantic tension between them MY BELOVED. (in case it isn't obvious, ryomina is my favorite ship)
SHINJIRO. the first time i played persona 3, i really didn't care for him (i've never liked characters who are stand-offish and constantly push people away without apparent reason). it was only after i realized the greater backstory that i learned to appreciate and sympathize with his character, and imo, one of p3r's greatest additions was the ability to interact with shinjiro and ken before shit goes down. shinjiro's plotline where you try to convince him to go back to school is devastating, especially when (spoilers) you find a re-enrollment form filled out in his room. absolutely fucking HEARTBREAKING. i already cried during his death (way more than i did in the original game, which is kinda crazy), but damn, they got tears out of me AGAIN with that one. i also noticed that there's a lot more foreshadowing and it is SO effective. i already went off about this on my shinjiro blog, but damn, they fucking nailed it with him.
FRIENDSHIP ROUTES!!! i can't tell you how frustrating it was trying to balance social links between all of the girls. it made me lean more into focusing on yukari (best girl) and nobody else lmao. one of the points of persona 3 was that social links were near-impossible to complete, and they really realized that goal with the girls imo. however!! getting to see the protagonist opt for friendships is really sweet. i love seeing a good rejection where neither party holds a grudge or feels humiliated. it's a really nice touch, especially because i've always wanted to see how friendships would pan out between the mc and the Gorls.
general quality of life changes & the addition of theurgy. i love that theurgy had more depth to it than just a "super move;" looking at the personality conditions is so nice and adds more to the characters than they already had. seeing that shinjiro's resolve deepens when his hp is less than half made me so :'))))
those are big things i love about p3r's changes. aside from the protag not being able to change weapons (my favorite part of original p3), i think the biggest complaint i have is that they left out the answer (p3p has been ported to modern consoles, so you can still experience the femc's route, but the answer is ONLY on ps2 to this day), and even then, i've read that they're planning to add it as dlc.
i've said this before and i'll say it again: i know people have gripes with the answer, but i absolutely adore it. it's the most realistic portrayal of grief among the dorm, which hits differently for EVERYONE. every single change to their personalities makes sense, especially taking their reliance on the protagonist into account. it's made so much more obvious in p3r (which i love), but everyone cares deeply about the protagonist. losing him is a devastating blow. and then aigis gaining his power? yukari is SO justified for being distraught and jealous. that's the realest shit i've ever seen.
also the fights between them because they can't decide whether to go to the past or look to the future...the entirety of the answer is heartbreaking because it hits so hard. yukari, who (aside from aigis) was hit the hardest by losing the protag, obviously wants to go to the past, back to a time when he was alive. the others either want to compromise or move on. the answer is about accepting life's hardships and finding a way to move on and that's beautiful. it's always hit so hard for me.
that's not even delving into metis and aigis UGH... i could go off about the answer forever.
as for p3p-
i played p3p nearly every day when i was in middle / high school. i'd bring my psp to school and play it religiously. i still remember blasting "heartful cry" on my ipod and playing p3p on the bus, lmao.
it's not my favorite iteration of persona 3 now (p3p was good for travel + when i was in school and needed something to get me through the day), but i do have a soft spot for how much effort was put into the femc's route. i will say that i'm not as devastated as a good chunk of the fandom that the femc isn't in p3r or even p3d, but i do love her character and i hope she's also eventually added as dlc (if they're gonna add the answer, then why not add femc again?). i'm really glad she was included in pq2 though, ESPECIALLY because there were so many validating twin moments between her and the male protagonist :')))
i will say, as a final note, that p3r REALLY nailed the feeling of original p3, but i think it made me way more emotional with how it was executed. i've PLAYED the game a million times! i knew every plot detail, i knew exactly how the game would play out (aside from the new additions), and i STILL sobbed several times by the end of the game. i've said this to my husband, but p3r was so well-executed that i felt like i was playing the original game for the first time!! and as someone who has experienced the game MANY times, that's such an incredible feat. i adore the remake. i'm so glad that none of my initial fears were warranted.
for once: thank you, atlus.
#🌕 || time for bear. (ooc.) || 🌕#🌕 || the answer to life's greatest question. (answered.) || 🌕#{ you gave me permission so i went off DKSJFJDKS SORRY }#{ i love p.ersona 3. p.ersona 3 is my LIFE }#{ thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to ramble about it. i don't think this is everything but it's already a lot so fsdkjfjds

oooh for the fic ask game: 11, 16, 27, 65? :3
tysm for the ask !!! ^_^ good luck with the numbers i gave you !
11. Link your three favorite fics right now
i may be biased towards this because it was a gift fic from one of my favourite authors + mutuals ^_^ but... Beheld Through the Lens of Love by Nail_gun is literally the only offputting ryomina fic i would ever need if i had to pick one ... trans ryomina is always a win ! --- my second pick is 100% Edge Detection by AcceleratedStall, which horrifically only has around 50 hits !!! everyone stop reading this post and go read that right now !!!!!!!!! THE fuuka fic of the season tbh .. go read their other p3 fics while you're at it too! their jin & minato fic Down In This Hole is totally the runner-up here i love it so much ! --- finally ... last but definitely not least ... a glittering house of cards by dirtbagtrashcat . any fic that delves into ryoji's state of mind during november and december has instantly captured my heart, and i am waiting with baited breath for the third chapter !! get up to date with this now and join my eternal suffering waiting ! ^_^
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
i haven't had much time to write recently .. not even for mochizuki monday T_T !!! so my list of wips and ideas is vast and currently abandoned .. [imagine a tumbleweed here ..] but i'm currently swaddling both a christmasy post-seal ryomina fic and a ken & ryoji brotherly (like in p3:twm ^_^) fic close to me .. maybe they'll come out one of these days !!! i hope .. >_<
27. What is your most and least favorite part of writing?
hmm .. i love writing little interactions .. little twitches of movement between dialogue ! even if the dialogue itself isn't the best .. it's important to me that the reader knows, say, the character twists his hands in his lap; his eyesight unfocuses; or how his fingers scrabble against the table - the kind of motions you don't usually think about ! but i always have so much trouble coming back to a fic to write more of it ... everything has to be done in 1-2 sessions or there's a 90% chance it'll never get posted >_< it's why i only post, like, 1500 word oneshots :P
65. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
i know i'm the persona 3 poster and persona 3 writer and persona 3 fan .. but i'm so excited for persona 3 reload to come out and supplement us with so many more scenes to build upon and twist into whatever we like ^_^ !! especially the new male mini-links ! shinjiro's gonna take minato out for a meal .. i'll make sure of it !!!! at least in my fic if not in the game @_@ ...
if you made it this far - thanx for reading <3 !!!
#sorry most of this is about ryoji and all of it is about persona 3 :P#but what do u expect !! (sonic voice) what you see is what you get; just a guy who loves [persona 3] :P#ty for the ask !!!! this was difficult but really fun to write ^_^

alright, now that I’ve had a few days to digest things, I’m going to talk about what I’d do/what I’d like to see in the potential persona 3 remake! it was getting too long, so I’m just going to talk purely about gameplay changes in this post (ignoring obvious QOL changes/visual improvement).
like most people, I’m a huge non-randomised tartarus truther. sorry, but atlus cannot make procedurally generated dungeons for the life of them. I don’t want any old random dungeon design though, no. I want each block of tartarus to have a theme. my initial thoughts were that they could be based on ways of dying (i.e. sickness, injury, old age), though I’m equally as enamoured with them being based on the stages of life (infancy, childhood, teen years, etc, etc, ending with death). it’d sync pretty well with the nyx fight, after all. there’s one more change I’d make to tartarus, but I’ll talk about that later when I get on to the narrative.
while on the topic of gameplay, the real world segments obviously need an overhaul too. I think persona 3 would really benefit more things to do at night in general, especially late-game. I’d make it so you can still access all non-gekkoukan areas in the evening, and throw in equivalents to the jazz jin/etc.
another thing that needs to be revamped though is the social link system. while I’d like to think atlus would include the F!MC in the remake, even if they don’t, all of the male members of SEES absolutely need a social link for the male MC regardless. it’s... ridiculous that they don’t, honestly. In my ideal P3 remake, both MCs will have set social links with every member of SEES, however like in persona 4, you'd be able to choose between multiple different characters for the other links. so, for hermit, you’d have the choice of either maya/saori, or bebe/chihiro for temperance, etc. I’d maybe swap ryoji from fortune to a non-standard arcana like faith as well (aaaaand his link would be an auto level up one, given his plot importance).
speaking of links, I’d make some available earlier on, but prevent progress of them after a certain point. like, mitsuru gets so screwed over with her link not being available until late november of all times. it would not hurt having access to say, her ranks 1-4 before then. I’d also make it so the SEES/student social links have more availably. there’s pretty much two whole months of gameplay where you can’t progress any of them, which hurts because over half your links are gekkoukan-locked. as a final note, atlus also needs to reintroduce the P5 ability to hang out with maxed links, as I felt bad dating my dude akihiko and then never speaking to him again.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cleaning up took forever after you and Jin finally woke up, and requesting for new sheets at the front desk of the motel was a bit of hassle. But once everything was settled and done, you and Jin were happier than you ever were before.
Over the next few days, you and Jin would cuddle and watch TV together, you continued to heal him and Toga, and you guys would make food for each other every so often if you all didn’t go out to eat. There was even a nice hangout date where the three of you went to the arcade.
The party must have barely missed Shigaraki there, because there was a frenzy among the management about how some customer disintegrated one of the machines not long ago.
You were a pro at skee-ball, Jin used his Double quirk to show off how good he was at the dance games, and Toga beat all of you at playing air hockey. You noticed over by the fighting games, not only was there a disintegrated arcade cabinet, but also some burn marks nearby.
Dabi beat Shigaraki again, didn’t he? you all wondered.
By that night, you were at Jin’s place again, and you both rested after a long day of having fun. You sat against the head of the bed while Jin laid back on you between your legs, and you both mindlessly scrolled through social media on your phones-- until a notification dinged on both of them. You both raised up a bit to read.
“Found place. Lost cops. Call when free,” Shigaraki messaged into a group chat.
Several people are typing…
You and Jin both sighed and sat aside your phones; it seemed like it was time to pack.
You bent down, kissed his forehead, and ruffled his hair. “I really enjoyed our time here at the motel~” you said coyly.
“I did too, and we’re gonna have plenty of more good times together-- you ain’t gettin’ rid of me anytime soon!”
You giggled and kissed him again, but longer. When your lips parted, you looked deeply into Jin’s eyes, and he looked deeply into yours. “Promise me you’ll never let me down?” you asked him.
Jin lit up at the sound of such familiar words and smiled proudly. “I would do anything for you. I promise.
Damn. Practice really paid off.
The End~

hi amber! it's me again. sorry in advance, this is probably gonna get long.. first of all, no! i haven't watched the behinds yet. i tend to put off watching something when i dont want it to end and then i end up forgetting about it(it's a problem ik) so thank you for reminding me i have that to watch still. yay a little bit more jikook for us. i'm glad the healing process is going as well as it can go, i haven't actually watched that live yet, maybe i should. p1
i'm glad he gave you comfort in that moment, i think he tends to have that effect (at least he does for me too) <3 as for yoongi, yes i feel the same. i try not think about his whole situation rn bc it makes me sad but i hope he is feeling the comfort and love we are sending him. p2 now into the ask game, i knew i was picking the right questions, specially the hair style and look ones lol. you don't how much i agree with you on the hairstyle picks, specially platinium blonde hobi and bob jungkook (that was lifechanging for me honestly) and i don't want to talk about dday long haired yoongi.. but hard same to all your picks! and you saying that about yoongi (the friend question) it's actually so funny to me, bc i feel the exact opposite. p3 i think yoongi is the one bts member i'm actually a 100 percent attracted to/ horny about lmao. like i think all of them are attractive and my number one bias is jimin and i genuinely think he is one the most beutiful person alive (? and jk, specially post 2021 jk is really hot, but yoongi is the one that does it for me the most and i think a big part of that is bc of his personality. p4 so even though i would love to be his friend bc i think we would get each other too, if i knew him in real life there's a 100 percent change that i would develop a crush on him lmao. sorry you didn't ask for all of that haha. anyways, like i said this got long, i hope i didn't bore you with the rambling. as for the last question i meant to say 53. the unpopular opinión one, i wanted you to get controversial (? p5
(sorry this is late, but well, election mess, etc, you know how it goes)
under a read more because i got carried away. whoops
alright, well, then i'm very happy to be reminding you and you have some great content ahead of you, or so I hear 😌
i get you, though, about it being so sad you don't want to think about it -- same. weirdly, and bear with me, it comforted me greatly to see only seokjin pick hobi up from discharge, because clearly everyone was off (like, namjoon was in town and spotted at galleries, jungkook was out and about with mingyu and dk for dinner that week, I'm sure vmin were off gallivanting) and they all just chose not to go, to support yoongi in private and welcome hobi home that way. with it only being jin there was no more unnecessary eyes on them than there should be. i keep thinking that surely all seven had met up that evening, or that weekend, and they just kept things private between the seven of them. like, they got each other, you know? if anything, we know that.
as for yoongi being the only one to drive you Crazy Like That, that's interesting, but also, I get you, that's hobi for me jkfdsjks at least to THAT extent. (jungkook comes Very, Very close, but yk. shrug). the wand does choose the wizard, huh. and his personality being the deciding factor makes so much sense, he really just burrows himself in there and suddenly you have an eternal soft spot for him! makes total sense that irl you'd immediately develop a crush on him, I see how that comes into play here.
also platinum hobi was A CULTURAL RESET I am so happy you get to appreciate him with me <3 and bob jungkook just... i never got over it. like, that man is our girlfriend, your honour. holy shit.
okay, as for an unpopular kpop opinion... i have so many fjkdsdsjfdsk i don't understand So Many Things but the one thing I will never, truly ever get is fandoms competing with each other over enlistment. like, one second we'll all be crying that it's so unfair bangtan has to go, and the next Kai from EXO is crying in a live because he has to enlist and it suddenly becomes a gotcha moment everyone uses against him. like, come on, folks. be against enlistment or don't be against it, do whatever the fuck you want, but if you're angry about the unfairness of it all you don't suddenly get to be inhumane just because that man is in a band that's a rival of your faves. he was clearly upset, leave him alone, it's not your place.
much to say about the fandom wars between exols and army in general, don't even get me started, but that entire time last year pissed me off SO much. like, trust me, when I say that I'm anti-military I mean that in the broad sense of the word. i hate it ideologically, I hate it practically, and I hate it for your faves as much as I hate it for mine. in fact, I hate it for every single Korean man who is forced to leave almost two years of his life behind and truly, I wish it was different. i have a personal connection to my own faves that makes me miss them extra hard, sure, but come on.
in general, the whole "stay away if you're a multi" mindset? i will never get it. what does it matter if you like more than one band? are we enslaved to the one band that got us here first? listen to whatever you like, dude! also I'm not here to mass stream and get them in the charts or sponsor h*be, I'm here to appreciate their artistry and let it resonate with me through whatever emotion comes up (and sure, geek out over their bond, feel a lot of joy when I see them and get a little horny, who cares). when did we lose sight of what music is supposed to be?
i feel very old man yelling at cloud right now but you asked!
#didn't mean to go on a fuck mandatory conscription and also the world at large rant but here we are FJKDSJKKJDS#kpop asks

so since you're up to ryoji, any conclusive thoughts on the new vas, if any?
I'm not that far. He only just showed up and I got one rank in.
.....Let's just say shit hit the fan for me on Thursday and I've gotten REALLY busy....ummmm.....fixing it so I can get back to my normal routine? Is that the best way to describe it (I still have stuff to do, but I'm not longer in "emergency mode")? I haven't picked up any game stuff since then (I literally passed out yesterday night cause I was so tired jfkldsjf). (oh wait, I'm so out of it I misread it as only asking about Ryoji....lol, well I'm talking about him first I guess, )
Going off the one interaction....... Yuri. I prefer Yuri. I already preferred Yuri's Pharos to Aleks' Pharos. I like both as MC.
There's something about Yuri's........Between OG/FES/P and the manga...... But Aleks' Ryoji feels more like it fits the P3 movies (same with Ikutsuki tbh). There's something about THAT portrayal of Ryoji that hits different compared to the other's.
THAT BEING SAID. I'll take Aleks. BUT ONLY if that means we can have Yosuke going back to not sounding as squeaky. TT0TT I can handle Adachi's voice change (feels like he decided to put on a more deranged mask). But Yosuke I want him back to sounding chiller. orz
Oh right, other chars fjdsakfja
Um....Aki's ok. I don't mind him. There's something about Liam's voice I prefer BUT, I wouldn't mind the new guy coming back.
Junpei is good (both in general and as a replacement). Keep him (if I have to deal with Junpei again that is)
Mitsu is good. I prefer Tara tho. Nothing against the new girlie, Tara's just one of my fav VAs. (the other VAs I like are Naoto's OG, Laura Bailey, Lily Vonnegut, Jamie Marchi, Kristen Bell, David Gallagher, and KH1!Haley Joel Osment, Santino Fontana...something about their cadence makes my brain go brrrrr but like for diff reasons)
Speaking of Brrrr, I really like Yuko's and Shinji's a lot.
Both old and new Shinji are great. Love them.
Love the new Ken. I never hated his OG, and Cindy did a good job too. But the new one is really good.
Fuuka......she's cute (I'm more annoyed that they didn't add to her at all so far :'D thanks atlus). I miss the OG one. Wendee Lee did great too (she always sounded like a higher pitched ver of the OG to me).
I think I liked both Natsuki's VAs? I do miss the old one. I can't recall the new one's voice atm TT0TT
Koro is fine lol
I don't like Takaya's new VA. I like the old one give him back.
I think I like this Chidori VA more? I didn't mind the old one. (also Chidori run, stay away from Junpei TT0TT)
Jin.........I think I like him more?
Ikutsuki. Prefer the old one. New one would be good for the movie ver tho!
I miss the old Igor. Gimme back Dan Woren you cucks! TT0TT Kirk is fine but I want Dan back! (wait Dan is Byakuya from Bleach???? Gimme him back! TT0TT)
Aigis is better. I didn't mind the old one, but this was an improvement.
All the VAs for the SLs are great so far tbh (haven't done Moon yet, not cause I don't want to, but because it's optimal if I wait)
Yukari is................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................her directing is.......................her direction.....the way the director is directing her...........................................................................................................I hope the VA does well in other works. She can come back as a diff character tbh. "So you'd rather have Ruff come back?" Or Yukari can just....not come back as a character. :"D
I think the thing that irks me about the new voices are.......the new voices for the already existing secondary/background chars (chars who were never voiced before? no problem). I. DON'T. LIKE. THEM.
"Oh but it's cool to hear!" or "We need Yuri to still get a check" I don't care. I don't like it. It's weird. It's weird hearing P3MC's voice coming out of Yukari's dad ("oh like Aki's is any better?" AKI ISN'T A LOVE INTEREST FOR YUKARI OUTSIDE HC! TT0TT)
I hate that they swapped Mitsu's dad and Kurosawa. Did they eat? Yea, they did great. Does it bother me because I find it COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY???? YESSSS!
My 9/11 is the damn principal's voice being changed. oh my god, it's not the same. He was so perfect in the OG, he was bumbling it just.....god it worked. The new guy.....doesn't give the same doddering vibe. man orz (I know most people are coming for the new Aki guy, or someone else, but man I'm very annoyed by the NPCs being changed orz)
I think one of THE BIGGEST issues I have with them just....redubbing the whole damn thing is (MORE SO the side NPCs than the main cast).....just how costly that must've been. Like stupidly costly, like they didn't need to do it. It was just wasting money kinda costly. Like they coulda used that money for something else, like I dunno....PUTTING THE FUCKING ANSWER AND FEMC IN????? >_> *inhales* I know I know I KNOW. Before you say it. Before my lil strawman I talk to in my head says it. The english localization's funds were probs separate from the JPN devs funds. I mean, unless Atlus JPN controls Atlus USA's funding directly, and thus have more direct involvement. I mean, haha, that'd make sense. Haha, but if I was them, and that was true, I wouldn't let other people know that. haha
Apollo: *compels Midori for no reason tomorrow* Midori: The localization funds were actually allocated and tied to the JPN funds. It wasn't just SEGA USA that decided to replace all the actors, it was also SEGA Japan. Me: I'm at my limit is2g
They probs would've saved a lot more money from just....keeping most of the OG voices (maybe replace Vic). And then maybe dub all the SLs/additional side content.
Ummmm.....tldr; Liked some, loved some, was eh on others, hated the existing side NPCs got new voices. All in all I think it was probs a waste of money tbh. Don't do it again for the inevitable P4 remake. (P1/2? sure there's not a lot of dubbing in that one anyways)
#silly asks#silly answers#jamie and Lily have very funny bitchy voices that live rent free in my head#i've always loved kirsten as an actress and her voice since Veronica Mars (so yeah Anna was def one of my favs)#i like older HJO too but i hyper focus on KH1 ver cause whenever I have to deal with Sora's younger form it always bothers me when#he doesn't sound younger TT0TT (not his fault)#I only know Santino Fontana from Frozen but also listening to him voice Hunger Games Of Songbirds and Snakes made me go brrrrr soooo much#oh man Naoto's OG voice ahhhhh the WARMTH she had in her tender moments TT0TT I miss her bring her back!!!!#i know we know her name i've just gone so long not using it that ajskldfjsk i refer to her by OG voice still#plus she didn't want to be known so I dunno kinda wanna respect it#i won't be mad if they do it again for P4.......it's just annoying that ppl say 'well why waste money on femc' when this feels like the#definition of wasting fucking money...same with remaking P4 being in the works when P4G is still perfectly good#and this is someone THAT WANTS a P4 remake and wouldnt mind a redub (initially)#but I HATE the argument being used against the femc when it's like????? but P4??? why???? TT0TT

To give you some more perspective:
The oldest confirmed Persona user (Boafu) is 33 years and 9 months older than the youngest (Sumi).
Tohru Adachi is just two years the Persona 2: Innocent Sin cast's junior.
Katsuya Suou is turning 50 next year (2023).
The only confirmed S.E.E.S. members that are not yet in their 30s (this 2022) is Junpei, Ken, and maybe Koromaru [if he's still around which I hope so].
Sojiro Sakura might be the same generation as the Persona 2: Eternal Punishment cast.
Ryotaro Dojima (1970) is the same generation as the P2:EP cast and is three years younger than Boafu, and three years older than Katsuya.
Reiji Kido's child is probably the same age as Ken Amada and the Phantom Thieves.
Please send in any additions or corrections! I'll edit this the list if necessary.
