OFF Valley, The Batter Headcanons:
• The Batter can't be found much around the town. He is mostly locked in his apartment. You can spot him however when he does his weekly grocery shopping to Le Zacharie, at The Church on Sundays, or in random areas on rare opportunities.
• He has a job at The Carnival.
• He's really hard to get close to, good luck finding his interests and gaining his trust! (Try a cup of black coffee.)
• The Batter, Zacharie, and Sugar were really close friends back then, hanging out often. Things changed, however, when The Batter settled down and had a family.
• The Batter wasn't the most responsible father and husband and soon got divorced.
• He's antagonistic, rude, and doesn't hold conversations long.
• He once went into a 'cafe' fight with Dedan, Japhet, and Enoch, and the 3 remember it like history. They also don't have good opinions on him.
• Dedan being his neighbor on the same floor always blasts the loudest music to spite The Batter.

September 10th, 2024
Y/n lifted her head from Oscar's chest, shifting her position to look at him directly. She took a moment to gather her thoughts before speaking. "Have you ever thought about getting engaged or married someday?"
Oscar's expression turned slightly cautious as Y/n asked the question. He paused for a moment, thinking about it. Finally, he responded, "Well... I haven't really given it much though, to be honest. I've been focused on our relationship and enjoying our time together."
He shifted a bit on the couch, now sitting up straight. His gaze remained fixed on Y/n as he continued. "Why do you ask? Is it something you've been thinking about?"
Y/n nodded, a mild sense of disappointment showing on her face at the realization that Oscar hadn't seriously thought about it yet. "I was just wondering. It's something that's been on my mind for a while."
The conversation turned into a more serious tone as the topic escalated to an argument. The initial lighthearted mood was replaced with tension and disagreement between Y/n and Oscar.
Y/n's frustration began to show on her face, her voice getting slightly louder. "I don't understand why you haven't thought about it yet. We've been together for 3- Almost 4 years, Oscar."
Oscar's initial surprise at the escalation of the argument slowly turned to frustration as well. He responded, his voice rising slightly as well. "It's not that I don't want to marry you, it's just... I don't know if I'm ready for it yet. The thought of getting engaged or married is a huge commitment.
Y/n scoffed a bit, her agitation growing. "I know it's big commitment. But that's exactly why it's important to discuss it and be on the same page about our future. I need to know what we agree and don't agree on!"
Oscar sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I don't want you to feel like I'm avoiding the topic, but it feels like you're putting pressure on me to make this decision. I just need more time to think about it, alright?"
Y/n crossed her arms, clearly dissatisfied with Oscar's response. She lets out a huff before responding. "More time? We've been together for years, and still need more time to think about it? How much more time do you need?"
Oscar's irritation grew at Y/n's response. He raised his voice slightly, matching her heightened tone. "I understand that we've been together for a long time, but that doesn't mean I have to be ready to get engaged or married right now. And constantly pressuring me about it isn't going to make ready any faster.
Y/n shot back with a bit more heat in her words. "I'm not trying to pressure, I just want some clarity about our future. It's not unreasonable to expect some form of commitment after being together for this long. You make it sound like you're not even sure if you want to marry me at all!"
Oscar's expression hardened at Y/n's accusation. "That's not fair. You know I love you, and I don't doubt our relationship. But marriage is a big step, and I want to be absolutely certain that we're both ready and willing to commit to it for the rest of our lives."
Y/n let out an exasperated sigh, feeling increasingly frustrated. "I understand that, but I feel like you're keeping me in limbo. You can't ask for more time without giving me some assurances that you do see a future with me. I need some sort of confirmation that we're on the same page here."
Oscar let out a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. "Okay, look, I do see a future with you. I do want to be with you for the rest of my life, alright? I just need more time to mentally prepare for the idea of getting engaged or married. It's a lot to process all at once."
Y/n relaxed slightly at Oscar’s reassurance, but their concerns still lingered on their face. “That’s good to hear, but it’s still not enough for me. I need more than just words. I need some kind of proof that you’re serious about our future together.”
Oscar, now clearly irritated, threw his hands up in desperation. “What more assurance do you need? I just told you that I see a future with you and that I love you. What else could you possibly want from me? A written guarantee? A legal contract?”
Y/n, equally frustrated, shot back with an aggressive tone. “No, I don’t need a written contract. I just need some sort of action, some steps towards making our future together a reality. You keep telling me you’re sure about us, but then you hesitate when it comes to actually making a commitment.”
The argument continued to escalate, both Y/n and Oscar becoming more frustrated and emotional. Y/n’s voice continued to raise, their words now filled with frustration and hurt. “I can’t believe you’re still making excuses. I’m tired of feeling like I’m the only one who wants to take our relationship to the next level. You keep stalling, and it makes me question if you really want to marry me at all!”
Oscar, in his frustration and anger, snapped back with a hurtful remark. “You know what, if you keep acting like this, maybe I won’t marry you at all! At least I'll be free from you and your stupid neediness!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, he regretted them. The pain and shock on Y/N’s face were evident, and he knew he had crossed a line.
Y/n stood up from the sofa, tears beginning to well up in her eyes. Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke. "Fine, if that's really what you want, then it won't happen. If you don't see a future with me, if you don't want to marry me, then there's nothing more to discuss."
Y/n, moving with purpose, made her way to the bedroom. There, she hastily grabbed a suitcase from the closet and began stuffing it with clothes and essentials. A sense of anger and determination filled her actions, her emotions still heightened from the argument.
Meanwhile, Oscar followed behind, trying to stop Y/n form leaving. He entered the bedroom and pleaded with her, his voice filled with regret and desperation. "Where are you going? You can't just leave like this!"
Y/n snapped back at him, her voice still angry and strained. "I can and I will. You just made it clear that you don't see a future with me. What am I supposed to do? Stay and keep hoping that someday you'll change your damn mind?!"
Oscar, his emotions conflicting, tried to find the words to convince Y/n to stay. "I didn't mean it. I was just so frustrated and angry, I didn't what I was saying. Please, don't go. We need to talk this through."
Y/n, who was still packing her suitcase, paused for a moment to look at Oscar. "There's nothing more to talk about. You said what you said, and I heard it loud and clear. You don't see a future with me, so what's the fucking point?"
Pausing once more in the midst of packing, looked directly at Oscar. "When we first started dating, I made it clear that I wanted to settle down one day. I was upfront about my expectations, and you knew what I wanted. Yet, here we are, years later, and you're still not ready for that commitment.
Oscar, feeling a mix of guilt and frustration, responded defensively. "I know I haven't been ready yet, but I told you I need more time. That doesn't mean I never want to marry you. It just means I'm not ready right now."
Y/n, now fully packing their suitcase, shot back with a hint of sarcasm. "Right, because waiting endlessly for you to make up your mind is so fun. You've had years, Oscar. How much more time do you need? A decade? A lifetime?"
Oscar, starting to get frustrated again, tried to defend himself. "You're acting like I'm doing this on purpose! I'm not stalling or avoiding the issue. I just need more time to figure things out. I have to be sure about such a big commitment!"
Y/n zipped up her suitcase, expression hard and uncompromising. "Spare me the excuses, Oscar. You've had ample time to reflect and consider. And here I am, still waiting for you to make a move. Your inability to make a decision speaks volumes, and I refuse to continue wasting my time, hoping for something you're not even ready to give."
Y/n, now walking out of the bedroom with suitcase in tow, was stopped in her tracks by Oscar's gentle yet firm on her free wrist. As she turned to look at him, he called out to her with a pleading tone. "Baby, wait. Don't go. Let's talk about this. Please."
Y/n looked him in the eye with a mixture of hurt and anger. "Don't call me 'baby'. You don't get to use endearments on me now. You lost that privilege when you made it clear that you don't see me as someone worth committing to."
Oscar, realizing his mistake in using the endearment, looked at Y/n with a remorse and desperation. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called you that. I'm just trying to get you to stay and talk to me about this."
Y/n shook her head, her expression still firm and determined. "No, I'm done talking. I'm done waiting. You had your chance to discuss this, and you dismissed it. I don't want to hear any more excuses or apologies right now. I need space."
Oscar, growing increasingly worried, pleaded with Y/n once more. "Please, don't go. This is the same old argument we've had before, but we've always worked through it. Let's take a break, cool off, and come back to this later."
"Exactly!" Y/n's voice is laced with frustration and exhaustion. "We keep pushing this issue aside, hoping it'll resolve itself. But it never does!" she says, tears starting to fall in between sobs. "Instead, it just becomes a bigger problem each time we avoid it. We can't avoid this conversation forever, and it's tearing me apart."
Y/n, determined to leave despite Oscar’s efforts to hold her back, breaks free from his grip and walks towards the door.
Oscar, watching her walk away, calls out to her pleadingly. "Please, don’t go. We can work this out, can’t we? You can’t just leave without resolving this."
Y/n, standing at the door with suitcase in hand, responds with a mix of determination and pain. "You’re right. There won’t be anything to resolve if there’s nothing left between us. And right now, it feels like there’s nothing left to salvage."
Oscar, panicked and desperate, tries one last effort to make her stay. "No, don’t say that! We have years together, a life built together. You can’t throw it all away just like that."
Y/n, her voice tinged with hurt and bitterness, answers with a sharp response. "When you said you don’t feel free around me, it felt like a slap in the face. As if being with me is some kind of prison sentence to you. So maybe it’s better if you are free, without me in the picture."
Y/n opens the door, her steps resolute and determined. Without looking back, she walks out and slams the door shut behind her. Oscar, left alone in the apartment, stands frozen in place, the sound of the door slamming echoing in his ears.
February 12, 2027
Three years have passed since Y/n left, and she has found herself in a different place, both geographically and emotionally. She has moved from Monaco to France, and is now living in a cozy apartment with her roommate, Alexandra.
Y/n and Alexandra are folding laundry and chatting away in the living room, enjoying each other's company. Suddenly, Y/n's phone buzzes, signaling an incoming call. She glances at the screen to see that it's her cousin calling.
Y/n, spotting the caller ID "lily 💗", excuses herself from the conversation with Alexandra. She picks up the phone, her voice tinged with curiosity. "Hey, what's up?"
Lily, sounding excited on the other end of the line, wastes no time in telling her the news. "Hey, guess what? I'm getting married! And I'd really love it if you could come to the wedding. It wouldn't be the same without you here!"
A smile spreads across Y/n's face as she listens to her cousin's cheerful announcement. She feels a mix of joy and surprise. "Oh my goodness, that's wonderful news! I'm so happy for you. Of course, I'd love to be there for your wedding. It's going to be a beautiful occasion. Have you set a date yet?"
Her cousin, still beaming with happiness, replies warmly. "Yes, we have! We're getting married in two months, at a beautiful venue here in Monte Carlo. It's going to be a wonderful celebration. I can't wait for you to be there with me."
Y/n's cousin, continuing the conversation, extends a special invitation. "Oh, and by the way, I wanted to ask you something else. Would you do me the honor of being my maid of honor? It would mean the world to me if you were by my side on my special day."
She feels a wave of warmth and appreciation at her cousin's request. She quickly responds with enthusiasm. "Oh my goodness, of course I'll be your maid of honor! It would be my absolute honor to stand by your side on your wedding day. I'm so touched that you asked me."
Her cousin lets out a happy sigh, feeling relieved and delighted at Y/n's acceptance. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm so glad you said yes. I can already imagine us having so much fun during the preparations and on the big day. You're going to be the best maid of honor ever!"
She rejoins Alexandra in the living room, her expression a mix of joy and excitement. "Sorry, that was my cousin. She's getting married apparently? She asked me to be her maid of honor too!"
Alexandra, hearing the exciting news, lights up with delight. "Oh, that's fantastic! Congratulations to the both of you!" she says, clapping lightly. "Being a maid of honor is such a special role. When's the big day?"
Y/n's voice brims with anticipation as she responds. "In two months, it'll be in Monte Carlo."
Alexandra, curious to know more about Y/n's cousin and her fiancé, poses a question with a tone of intrigue. "That sounds wonderful! So who's the lucky groom?"
Y/n opens her mouth before slowly closing it. "You know, I just realized, I don't actually know..." she replies sheepishly.
The two girls sit in awkward silence for a few moments before bursting out laughing. Y/n can finally say that she feels happy. At least, way happier than she was with Oscar.
April 26, 2027 | Chapel
The long awaited wedding day, and the setting couldn't more picturesque. The venue is adorned with elegant decorations, and Y/n stands by chapel doors, ready to walk down the aisle alongside the best man and to see the groom for the very first time.
Y/n, in her satin green dress, is arm in arm with Lando, the best man (who she met a week ago). They make their way up to the altar, and as her eyes scan the surroundings, something catches her eye. She turns her gaze towards the altar, and there she sees the groom awaiting his bride.
As the groom turns around to face the aisle, Y/n's heart skips a beat. There, standing at the altar, is Oscar, her ex-boyfriend. Y/n feels a mix of shock and disbelief. Lily is getting married to Oscar.
Oscar, caught off guard by the sight of Y/n, manages to keep his composure despite the surprise. His eyes go wide with realization, but he quickly masks his emotions and turns his attention back to the altar.
Lando, feeling Y/n's grip on his arm tighten ever so slightly, turns his attention to her with concern. He senses something is amiss and leans in slightly to inquire in a low whisper. "Hey, is everything alright? You look like you've just seen a ghost."
Y/n, struggling to find her words, manages to compose herself enough to respond to Lando's question. "I'm... I'm fine." she mutters, forcing a smile. "Don't worry about it. Let's just focus on the ceremony right now. I'll explain everything later if we have time."
Lando, sensing Y/n's unease, nods in understanding but keeps a watchful eye on her throughout the ceremony. He feels there's more to it than meets the eye, but he decides to respect her request to wait until later to explain.
The processional draws to a close as Lily walks down the aisle, looking stunning in her snowy white dress. Y/n, unable to help herself, steals a glance at Oscar, who stands at the altar, his eyes filled with awe as he gazes at the bride- his bride, in all her splendor. There's a mix of shock and a tinge of melancholy in Y/n's expression as she observes him.
Her thoughts race through her mind as she stands alongside the other bridesmaids. She watches Oscar at the altar, his eyes fixated on Lily, and a sudden pang of bittersweetness washes over her. In that moment, she can't help but wonder if this is what it would've been if she and Oscar had gotten married, if they would've worked it out. A mixture of nostalgia and melancholy fills her heart as she contemplates what could have been.
Her inner turmoil intensifies as she struggles to reconcile her current circumstances with the memory of the dreams and aspirations she once had with Oscar. The weight of the unspoken emotions between them hangs heavily in the air, and split second, Y/n finds herself caught in a whirlwind of "what if?" scenarios before she snaps back to reality, reminding herself of the reasons that led them down separate paths. The same reasons that led them to this day.
Lily reaches the altar, and Oscar assists her with her beautiful gown, his hands gently arranging the fabric. In the process, their eyes meet for a fraction of a second, and the intensity of that brief glance nearly brings tears to her eyes. The connection, though fleeting, stirs a mix of emotions within her, bringing back memories and longing she thought she had buried in the past.
Unable to bear the weight of Oscar's gaze any longer, Y/n averts her eyes, feigning the need to fuss with her own gown. She busies herself with adjusting her attire, using the action as a guise to avoid looking at Oscar, who stands just a few steps from her. She tries to mask the turmoil within her, hoping no one notices the storm of emotions brewing beneath the surface.
Oscar tears his gaze away from Y/n and redirects his focus to his bride. A genuine, radiant smile illuminates his face, and in that moment, Y/n realizes that she has never seen him smile quite like that before. The smile is wide, full of joy and contentment. Y/n can't help but feel a sharp pang in her heart.
The sight of Oscar's unabashed happiness with his bride strikes a chord deep within Y/n. It awakened a mix of sorrow, regret, and a hint of resignation. She understands that his smile, while beautiful, is no longer hers to witness. The reality of their broken relationship, and the different paths they've taken, is now undeniable, and the weight of that realization settles heavily on her heart.
The mixture of emotions in the air is palpable as Y/n stans beside the other bridesmaids, her eyes till fixated on Oscar and the bride. She can't help but feel a jumble of sadness, envy, and acceptance, witnessing the unfolding scene in front of her. The moment seems to stretch on, each second reminding her of what could have been.
The ceremony continues, and as the moment arrives for Oscar to kiss his bride, the air catches in Y/n's throat. Y/n, along with all the guests gathered, watches as the newly weds lock lips, sealing their union in a heartfelt kiss. Y/n's heart clenches as she longs to be the one standing with Oscar, to be the one he's kissing.
Their kiss seems to last an eternity, each second a poignant reminder of the love that Oscar now shares with someone else. Y/n's eyes are fixed on the couple, her heart wallowing in sorrow and acceptance. The realization that she is no longer a part of Oscar's future washes over her, and she finds herself in the same bittersweet feeling that she found all those years ago.
Y/n, although her heart is heavy, knows she has no choice but to join in the applause. She raises her hands and claps along with the guests. Her hands come together in a rhythmic applause, the sound blending with the collective joy and celebration around her. Inside, her heart is aching, but on the outside, she manages to maintain a semblance of composure, hiding the storm of emotions within her.
April 27, 2027 | Reception
Time swiftly moves forward to the reception. Lando, as the best man, steps up to the podium, ready to deliver his speech. The room falls silent, and all eyes turn to him, waiting to hear his words. Lando takes a deep breath before starting, his voice filled with a mix of humor, warmth, and genuine affection for the couple.
Lando begins his best man speech with a warm smile, his eyes flickering across the guests. "Good evening, everyone. I feel incredibly honored to be standing here as the best man for this beautiful couple. Today we gather to celebrate love, commitment, and the beginning of a new journey for our newlyweds, Lily and Oscar. I've known Oscar for a long time, and I can confidently say that I've never seen him as happy as he is today, all thanks to the incredible woman sitting beside him."
As Lando continues with his speech, Y/n sits in her chair, listening intently. The mention of Oscar being the happiest he's ever been makes her chest tighten, as though an invisible weight is pressing down on her heart. The reality that Oscar has found true happiness with someone else, the very thing Y/n had once hoped to provide for him, is a bitter pill to swallow.
Y/n, lost in her thoughts, zones out during the last part of Lando's speech. The words around her turn into a blur, and she becomes unaware of the speech's conclusion. Her mind is preoccupied with the barrage of emotions swirling inside her, and she finds herself in a state of partial detachment from the ongoing celebration.
Lando, sensing that Y/n was lost in thought, gently places his hand on her shoulder. This gesture snaps her back to reality, and she becomes aware of the room around her again. Seeing her jolt slightly, he gazes at her with a compassionate glance. "Hey, it's your turn to give a speech."
Her heart rate quickens as she realizes it's her turn to give the speech, and she takes a deep breath to steady herself. She glances around the room, the weight of the moment settling heavily on her shoulders.
Y/n slowly walks up to the podium, her steps deliberate and measured. As she stands in front of the microphone, she can feel the eyes of gathered guests fixed on her, waiting for her words.
She stands behind the podium, taking a moment to collect herself before speaking. With a mixture of joy, love, and disbelief, she begins her speech.
She starts, "Good evening, everyone. For those who may not know me, I’m Y/n, the bride’s cousin, but truly, we’ve always been like sisters. Standing here today, I feel a flood of emotions - joy, love, and perhaps just a hint of disbelief that this day has finally come."
Y/n continues, "You see, when we were children, Lily and I would often engage in 'wedding' games. We'd don makeshift wedding veils made from pillowcases and fiercely argue over who would get to be the bride. It was a serious matter for us back then, and more often than not, we’d ultimately settle on her being the bride. According to her, she just 'looked more like one.' Well, Lily, I have to admit, you were absolutely right—because here you are today, looking stunning, more beautiful and radiant than I could have ever imagined."
Her voice is a mixture of warmth and sentimentality as she continues her speech. "It’s fascinating how childhood dreams have a way of becoming reality, and yet, it’s even more astonishing to witness how you’ve grown into the remarkable woman standing before us now. Over the years, I’ve watched you navigate the ups and downs of life with such grace, and today, as you marry Oscar, my heart swells with happiness for you both."
In the midst of her speech, Y/n’s eyes inadvertently meet Oscar’s, and a wave of emotions courses through her. The weight of the moment, combined with her feelings for Oscar, causes tears to well up in her eyes, making it increasingly difficult to continue speaking.
She pauses, attempting to blink back the tears that threaten to spill. Clearing her throat lightly, she tries to push through the momentary emotional wave that has struck her. The pain in her heart is evident, but she forces a smile, determined to complete her speech with a semblance of composure.
Taking a deep breath, Y/n collects herself and presses on with her speech, "While I’m brimming with joy for you both, I must admit I feel a tinge of bittersweetness, for today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your life — a chapter where you start your own family. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that no matter how life changes, no matter where you go, we’ll always be as close as we’ve been."
Y/n steals another quick glance in Oscar's direction before continuing. Her emotions are still close to the surface, but she plows on, speaking with a mixture of bittersweet happiness and nostalgia.
"You’re not just my cousin; you’re my sister, and this connection we share is something that will forever remain unchanged. So here’s to the both of you. May your love be as strong and lasting as our bond has been all these years. And Lily, if this day proves anything, it’s that you were always destined to be the bride." she says, wiping away her tears with a small handkerchief Lando handed her.
As Y/n completes her speech, her eyes inadvertently find their way back to Oscar. The gaze she gives him mirrors the one she had when they parted ways three years ago. The pain, the longing, and the unresolved emotions are all still there, making her next words more strained.
With her gaze still fixed on Oscar, Y/n struggles to keep her emotions in check as she continues her speech, her voice trembling slightly. Despite the ache in her heart, she forces a smile, her words now directed towards Oscar.
"And to Oscar, I hope you enjoy growing old with her as much as I enjoyed growing up with her." Each word feels like a dagger to her heart, but she finishes her speech, the pain in her eyes reflecting the depth of her unspoken feelings.
Y/n, fighting to maintain her composure, finally comes to the end of her speech. Her voice wavers slightly as she utters her final words. "A toast! To Lily and Oscar!"
Her words hang in the air, a bittersweet sentiment that lingers in the room. The guests raise their glasses in agreement, blissfully unaware of the turmoil within Y/n.
Lily, moved by Y/n's heartfelt speech, stands up and embraces her cousin in a tight hug. But while Lily basks in the moment, blissfully unaware of the pain her happiness is causing Y/n, the latter can only focus on Oscar, her eyes filling with tears as she gazes at him. The raw emotions bubbling beneath the surface seem to intensify, and it takes all her strength to hold back the floodgates.
April 27, 2027 | After the Reception
The reception has come to an end, and the hotel lobby is relatively quiet at this late hour. Lando, getting ready to head out, spots Y/n standing in the corner, holding her crumpled gown in one hand and her phone in the other. He approaches her with a concerned expression.
"Hey," Lando says softly, standing beside Y/n. His voice is gentle, tinged with concern as he looks at her. "Are you alright? You seem a bit... off?"
Y/n glances up at Lando, her expression weary. The emotional toll of the evening is evident on her face. She forces a small smile, trying to appear okay. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine," she replies, her voice slightly strained. "Just a bit tired, you know."
Lando can sense that Y/n isn't being completely honest, but he doesn't press the issue. Instead, he offers her two options. "You sure you're okay? You can always crash at my place if you want," he suggests. "Or, if you're up for it, we could go for a drive. Whatever you prefer."
Y/n ponders for a moment, weighing her options. Finally, she decides to take Lando up on his offer for a drive.
"A drive sounds good," she says, her voice slightly weary but also filled with a hint of relief. "Lead the way."
With a nod, Lando leads the way towards his car, parked outside the hotel. He unlocks the door, takes her gown, and gestures for her to get in. Once they're both settled in the car, Lando starts the engine and begins driving.
The silent drive envelops them, its quietness only interrupted by the soft hum of the engine and the occasional sound of passing cars. Both Lando and Y/n seem weary, the evening's events taking their toll on them.
Lando glances over at Y/n periodically, noting the fatigue etched on her face.
He drives them to an empty beach, where only the signs of life are a few stray cats and dogs sleeping beneath a nearby bridge. The beach is mostly deserted, and the soft sound of waves crashing against the shore adds a soothing atmosphere to the surroundings.
He parks the car and shuts off the engine, the sudden silence feeling both peaceful and surreal at the same time.
Lando gets out of the car and opens the trunk. He rummages through it, pulling out two bottles of beer. He closes the trunk and walks over to where Y/n is standing, holding the bottles in one hand.
"Wanna share a cold one?" he asks, offering her one of the bottles.
As Lando hands Y/n a bottle, she glances at him with a puzzled expression on her face, her confusion evident. "You just happen to have cold beer in your trunk?" she asks, raising an eyebrow.
Lando laughs at her questions and explains, shrugging his shoulders. "Nah, I don't keep beers in my car!" he says, chuckling. "It was supposed to be for the wedding, in case we ran out. You know how weddings can be."
Y/n nods in agreement and requests a bottle opener. Lando pats his pockets, searching for one. After a moment, he pulls out a small, multi-purpose tool from his pocket that serves as a bottle opener.
"Can I?" he says, gesturing for her to hand him the beer.
Y/n thanks him and hands her bottle to him, waiting for to him to open his bottle. As he uses it to pop the lids off both bottles with a satisfying fizzing sound, she takes her bottle and watches the foam settle on the top of the liquid.
Lando closes the trunk and follows Y/n down to the sand. They walk down in silence, the soft sound of their footsteps blending with the gentle rhythmic crashing of the waves.
The cool night air wraps around them, offering a refreshing reprieve from the day’s festivities. The soft light of the stars and the moon casts a gentle glow over the beach, making the surrounding area appear almost magical.
As they reach a spot on the beach and sit down, Lando takes a sip of his beer and sets the bottle down in the sand. He glances over at Y/n, his expression curious. “Hey, can I ask you something?” he says.
Y/n looks up at Lando, her expression open. “Sure, what is it?” she responds, her curiosity piqued by his inquiry.
Lando takes another sip of his drink before continuing. “When we were standing there, right before you were supposed to give the speech, you started acting kinda strange. I’m just wondering… did something happen?”
He pauses for a moment, the memory of their walk down the aisle surfacing in his mind. His tone becomes concerned and inquisitive. “And when we were walking down the aisle, you seemed… I don’t know, kinda on edge too. Did something happen back there or…”
Y/n sighs heavily, knowing she can’t avoid the question any longer. She gazes out at the ocean, the weight of her emotions visible in her expression. “I guess you noticed that something was up after all,” she says, her voice tinged with a hint of regret. “It’s a long story, Lan.”
Lando looks at Y/n, giving her a reassuring smile. “You know what? We’ve got all the time in the world right now, it’s just you and me.” he says, his voice gentle and inviting. “And I’m all ears if you need to talk about whatever is bothering you.”
Y/n feels a mix of emotions, knowing that Lando is willing to listen to her and that she can finally open up about what’s been bothering her. She takes a deep breath, her voice slightly shaky as she begins to tell her story.
“Okay… So I guess I should start by telling you that Oscar is my ex-boyfriend.” She sighs, feeling the weight of her words settle over her.
As Y/n drops the revelation about Oscar being her ex, Lando’s response is somewhat unexpected— his beer goes up his nose, causing him to cough and splutter lightly. Y/n stifles a laugh, finding a brief moment of humor amidst the intensity of their conversation.
“Hey,” she giggles playfully, “you okay there?” Lando clears his throat, wiping away the remnants of his beer mishap.
“Yeah, sorry about that,” he laughs, his eyes still watering slightly. “I just… did not expect that detail?”
They both laugh softly, and the moment of levity helps to alleviate some of the tension hanging in the air.
Y/n takes a deep breath, regaining her composure, and going on with her story. “Long story short, things didn’t end well between us… I guess seeing him again as the groom, all dressed up and looking ready to start a new chapter in his life, well, it just hit me pretty hard,” she confesses, the sadness and lingering pain evident in her voice.
Y/n takes a moment to gather her thoughts, summoning the courage to share the painful truth. “The main reason we ended things was because he wasn’t ready to settle down. He didn’t want what I want— commitment, a future together, you know? It hurt, but I had to respect his decision.” Her voice trails off, memories of their breakup flooding her mind, stinging her again.
The mention of Oscar’s reluctance to commit triggers a painful memory for Y/n, causing her eyes to cloud with a mix of sadness and longing. “And now, seeing stand there, so ready to marry someone else, with the biggest smile on his face… It’s like my hope of us being together has been shattered all over again.”
Her laughter is tinged with bitterness, the irony of the situation not lost on her. “To make matters worse, it just had to be my cousin, right? Like some sort of fucking soap opera. I mean, what are the odds of that?” Y/n muses, shaking her head slightly.
Seeing the sadness etched on Y/n’s face, Lando can’t help but feel empathy for her situation. He reaches out, gently placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, his touch conveying a silent understanding.
As Lando reaches out and touches her shoulder with a comforting gesture, Y/n feels a wave of gratitude towards him. She looks at him and forces a small smile, appreciating his support.
“Thank you, Lan,” she mutters, her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s just… hard to see him so happy with someone else when I still have feelings for him- well, I thought I didn’t love him anymore, I thought I had moved on, but seeing him today… it just brought everything back.”
Hearing Y/n’s words, Lando clears his throat, a thoughtful expression on his face. “Y’know, Y/n, it’s completely understandable that you feel this way. Seeing an ex move on can be incredibly difficult, especially when you’re still clinging to those lingering feelings and hopes of what could have been.
He pauses, considering his words carefully. “Maybe it’s time for you to actually let go and move forward. Leave the past behind.”
In the midst of their conversation, a small tabby kitten suddenly appears and jumps into Y/n’s lap, surprising the both of them. The sudden appearance of the kitten seems to momentarily distract them from their heavy discussion.
“Whoa, where did you come from, little one?” Y/n exclaims with a surprised laugh, as she gently pets the kittens fur.
Lando chuckles and remarks, “Y’know, they say cats are surprisingly good at sensing emotions. It must have sensed your sadness, Y/n. They can absorb negative vibes like little fluffy energy absorbers.”
Y/n couldn’t help but smile at Lando’s explanation, the idea of the cat absorbing her sadness somehow comforting. “That makes sense, I guess. It’s kind of sweet, in a way,” she muses, continuing to pet the kitten which responds with a soft purr. “Maybe this kitty will absorb all of these painful emotions and turn them to into something positive.”
As if sensing the conversation, the kitten nuzzles against Y/n’s hand, it’s purring growing louder, sending gentle vibrations throughout her fingers. The warmth and innocence of the moment provide a brief respite from her emotional turmoil.
Y/n chuckles, but her laughter is tinged with bitterness. She looks down at the kitten in her lap. "I realized something earlier. I'm always be the bridesmaid, and never the bride. It’s like my destiny is to always be the supporting character in someone else’s love story, not the one who gets their own happy ending."
She sighs softly, a mixture of resignation and disappointment in her voice. “I never thought that I’d be that cliché— the forever bridesmaid, never finding true love. Yet here I am, witnessing it all unfold in front of me.”
Lando locks eyes with Y/n, his gaze sincere and filled with a hint of something more than just friendly concern. “Love has a mysterious way of hiding in the most unexpected places. Maybe… the person you’re looking for is right in front of you, and you just need to open your eyes to see it.”
His words hang in the air, leaving them both pondering the possibility of love closer than they think.

Driskill Hotel ~ Brothers!Sturniolo Triplets
Summary: You join your brothers in their trip with Sam and Colby
Warnings: swearing, ghost hunting, nicknames, protective!triplets, targeting, spirits, crying, slight angst, fluff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were tagging along with Nick, Matt and Chris with their trip to Texas to collab with Sam and Colby at the Driskill hotel. You've watched Sam and Colby for years now so your brothers just had to bring you along.
When you arrived and got the introductions out of the way, the guys started to film. You looked around taking in the place.
"What's up guys, today we have some special guests, you've been requesting they join for a video for months!" Colby began.
"It's the Sturniolo triplets and their sister, Y/n!" Sam cheered.
The guys cheered and clapped as you giggled. Sam and Colby started asking different questions and how much you all believed.
"I'd say nine." You answered.
"I'm an eight." Matt said.
"Ten, even though nothing has happened to me for it to be a ten." Nick said.
"I'd say seven." Chris said.
The guys nodded as you all started to explore with the guides for a while, taking in the whole hotel and listening to their stories and experiences. It took a few hours and you laughed at the many jokes the guys made. Nick, Matt and Chris kept an eye on you at all times, making sure you were okay.
"Now it's investigation time!" Colby cheered once you went through the tour and the guides left you.
"First off, let's go talk to Samantha." Sam said.
You followed the guys to the old painting of the young girl. You looked at it seeing it was turning green and remembered the guide said it was the only one turning green out of the many paintings in the whole hotel.
"Now we're all going to offer a piece of candy to Samantha, but one of us is going to say Ruth." Colby instructed.
It was chosen that Matt would call on Ruth whilst the rest of you called on Samantha. You all placed the candy in front of the painting and then went to the stairs where Samantha died.
"You feeling okay, bub?" Chris asked you quietly.
"Yeah, just taking it all in." You answered.
He nodded, wrapping an arm around your shoulder as Sam set up the flashlights on the stairs. You then saw something out of the corner of your eye, making you look back, which caught your brothers' attention.
"What?" They all called at the same time, shocking Sam and Colby.
"I...I swear I saw something go by." You answered.
"Can we just talk about how you all said that at the exact same time!" Colby exclaimed, making you all laugh.
"What did you see?" Matt asked.
"It was a shadow....but it didn't look tall." You replied.
"Samantha." Sam said.
Just then, one of the flashlights went off, making you all gasp. Chris who was still next to you, pulled you closer to his side. You watched as the guys asked various questions, getting a few answers. You then placed your hands in the pockets of your sweats and gasped.
"Oh my fucking God." You called out.
"What!" Nick shouted.
"I have a piece of candy in my pocket." You responded, holding some of the candy that Sam had in his backpack.
"You only took one piece and offered it to Samantha." Chris mentioned, making you nod.
"Yeah you saw me and it's on camera. How did this get here?" You asked.
"Let's go check and see how many pieces are left at the painting." Sam suggested.
You all nodded and headed back to the painting. You saw there was five pieces, where there should have been six.
"The piece I left is gone." You said.
"That's fucking crazy." Nick said.
You all took a short break, trying to gather some thoughts, before heading to the Maximillian room. The one Empress Carlota was supposed to be in. As soon as you walked in, you started getting a headache and felt dizzy. Nick, who was behind you, noticed you grab your head.
"Hey kid, you okay?" He asked, placing a hand on your shoulder.
"I just started feeling really dizzy and got a headache." You answered.
"First Samantha and now here, you think it's Carlota?" Matt asked.
"You seem to be drawing them in." Sam mentioned.
You took a deep breath and watched them set some equipment up. You then had a crazy idea after seeing them set the EMF rope up.
"What if I do the estes method in here?" You suggested.
"No!" Nick, Matt and Chris all shouted at the same time.
"You said you felt dizzy, we're not having our sixteen year old sister get attached to a spirit!" Nick added.
"We don't want to cause any family drama, but it could be a good idea. You guys can try it later in room 525, but Y/n might get something more since she's a girl." Colby replied.
After a bit of convincing, you sat on the floor in the middle of the EMF rope, blindfolded and with the headphones on. You sat for a few minutes with nothing.
"I don't know why I feel so nervous." Chris said, laughing to try and cover his fear.
"She's your sister, it seems more scary when it's someone you love." Sam responded.
Suddenly, you started saying some stuff. It was a few random words at first, the guys tried to piece together, but then you said something that scared them.
"Her."
"Her? As in Y/n?" Colby asked.
"Yes."
"What about her?" Nick asked.
"Want."
"You can't have our sister." Chris said.
"Are we talking with Carlota?" Sam questioned.
"Threat."
"Is Y/n a threat?" Matt asked.
You didn't say anything for a minute, giving the guys a chance to think and ask some more questions. But they then noticed you weren't responding and your breathing started picking up.
"Get her out!" Matt shouted.
Colby rushed over and tapped your shoulder gently, helping you remove the headphones. You threw the blindfold off and looked at the guys, your breathing still faster than normal and tears in your eyes.
"Hey, hey your okay. We're here." Nick said, hugging you tightly.
Sam placed the camera down, knowing you needed to stop for a bit. Matt rubbed your back as you clung to Nick, Chris standing besides him, all their faces showed worry. None of them said anything as you calmed down.
When you had calmed down, your breathing back to normal, you all went and sat in the lobby, feeling safer in that area.
"Can you remember anything you said?" Matt asked you.
"A few words like her and want, but it was like someone was squeezing my head tightly. It was static and my body started feeling light till Colby touched my shoulder." You answered.
"Did....Did you get it on camera?" You then asked.
"A bit, but we can cut it out." Sam answered.
"If that's okay." You replied, making him nod.
"Of course, whatever makes you feel more comfortable." Colby replied.
You gave them a small smile and knew that Nick, Matt and Chris would be watching you like a hawk for the rest of the investigation.
"Okay Y/N, let's play another game. Uno is getting too boring," Nami muttered.
You nodded in agreement, your eyes scanning the room for a more exciting game to play. "How about we try a round of Charades?" you suggested, a mischievous smile playing on your lips.
"Nah, I've got a better idea," Nami smirked.
"What is it?"
Nami grinned and explained, "It's a game where I'll say a word, and you have to say the first word that comes to mind. We'll go back and forth, and the goal is to see how quickly we can come up with a word."
"Sounds like a fun game! I'm up for the challenge," you replied with a competitive glint in your eyes.
"Okay, what do you associate with me?" Nami asked.
"The navigator," you said confidently.
"Wow, not drawing a map of the entire world?" Nami pouted, taking a sip of her drink.
"Well more people know you for the weather," you said, not affected by her whining.
"Okay, now what do you associate with me?" you asked, snacking one of the Sanji's desserts.
"Probably Luffy,"
"Luffy? Why Luffy?" you repeated.
Nami questioned, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Well, you two are always together, embarking on wild adventures and stirring up trouble."
"That's because I'm the one who keeps him in line and makes sure he doesn't get too carried away," you responded, causing Nami to laugh and playfully swat at your arm.
"What about you? What do you think of Luffy?"
"Daddy," you blurted out, causing Nami to burst into laughter.
"Oh, Daddy, huh?" Nami teased, raising an eyebrow mischievously.
"I never took you for the paternal type, Y/N. Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me?" she added, laughing uncontrollably as your face turned beet red.
"It's not what you think," you muttered shyly, your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
"Of course not," Nami teased, "Don't worry, I'll keep this a secret," she added, still giggling at your embarrassment.
Little did Nami and you know, Luffy had been eavesdropping on their conversation the entire time, his curiosity piqued by their game.
As Luffy listened in on their conversation, a confused frown spread across his face. "Y/N thinks of me as a daddy? What does that mean? I'll have to ask her about it later," Luffy muttered to himself.
The tantalizing aroma of dinner filled the air, diverting Luffy's attention from his bewildering thoughts about your comment. His stomach growled, and with a wide grin, he quickly made his way towards the source of the delicious smell. . . .
You had been fixing Luffy's hat after he fought a big boss and had gotten hold of his hat, carefully straightening out the dents and smoothing the fabric.
You had to carefully sew the straw hat back to gather, making sure to mend any tears or loose threads. As you worked, you couldn't help but marvel at the countless adventures Luffy had embarked on while wearing this iconic hat.
A part of you felt honored that you were responsible for fixing his hat, knowing that it symbolized not only Luffy's resilience and determination, but also the trust he had in you to take care of something so precious to him.
"Y/N! Y/N!" A voice yelled from behind you, making you jump. You turned to see Luffy himself, a wide grin on his face.
Luffy's wide grin was accompanied by beads of sweat dripping down his forehead, evidence of the intense play session he had with Usopp and Franky in the scorching heat. Despite the sweat, his vibrant energy seemed unfazed as he eagerly approached you.
"Luffy, you're supposed to be healing," you scolded, sighing as he sat beside you. "I can't believe you're already up and about after that intense battle. You really are something else."
"It's nothing," Luffy shrugged, his eyes fixated on the carefully repaired hat in your hands.
You sighed again before placing his hat on his head, feeling a sense of satisfaction as you saw it fit perfectly. "There you go, Luffy," you said with a smile. "Good as new. Just remember to take it easy and let yourself heal properly." Luffy nodded, his grin widening even more, as he proudly wore his beloved straw hat once again.
Though Luffy didn't stand or move as you placed all of the materials that you used away, his eyes never leaving you.
"So why did you call me daddy?" Luffy said suddenly.
You choked on your own breath, coughing in surprise as Luffy's unexpected question caught you off guard. Your mind raced, trying to make sense of what he had just said. "Wait, what?" you spluttered, eyes wide with confusion.
"I overheard you and Nami talking," Luffy started, munching on the food that was left on the table.
You turned to face Luffy, and despite his unexpected question, his eyes sparkled with pure energy.
"Do you even know what it means Luffy?"
"Nope,"
You turned away from him to collect your thoughts, trying to figure out how to explain the meaning of the word "daddy" to Luffy without making things awkward.
"But Nami told me," Luffy said, his mouth full of food.
"Really?"
"Yeah, but I still don't get it," Luffy munched. "It's used to address a male authority figure or idol in a sexualized manner."
Your cheek felt red as you struggled to find the right words to respond.
Nami! How could you tell him! You traitor!
"Does that mean I get to call you Mummy?"
As you processed Luffy's question, your mind started to malfunction, unable to comprehend the absurdity of the situation.
"Luffy," you stammered, trying to regain your composure, "saying those things is reserved for someone you deeply care about, someone you love romantically. It's not something you just casually say to anyone."
"That's exactly why we should do that!" Luffy argued. "I like you."
You froze, unsure of how to respond to Luffy's declaration. A part of you wanted to brush it off as a joke or a misunderstanding, but the sincerity in his eyes made you realize that he was serious.
"I need to go," I said, getting up and leaving, when Luffy grabbed your arm. His grip was unsurprisingly strong, and as I turned to face him, I saw the determination in his eyes.
"Don't you like me too?" he asked softly, his voice filled with vulnerability. You looked into Luffy's eyes, conflicted and unsure of how to respond.
A thousand thoughts raced through your mind, but you couldn't deny the growing affection you felt for him.
You then quickly went down on your knees and placed a small kiss on his lips, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. As you pulled away, Luffy's eyes widened in surprise, and a wide grin formed on his face.
"Let's take it slow okay," you said, flustered as you started to leave again.
"Okay!" Luffy agreed, following you with a beaming smile on his face, his hand reaching out to hold yours.
For the next week, Luffy continued to follow you around the ship, his excitement and affection evident in every action. However, his clinginess eventually caught the attention of Nami, who scolded him for being too clingy and reminded him to give you some space. . . . .
"Okay, now what do you associate with me?" you asked, snacking one of the Sanji's desserts.
"Probably Zoro,"
"Zoro? Why Zoro?" you repeated louder, shocked.
Nami questioned, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Well, I see how you look at him when he's fighting."
"That's because I'm just trying to study his moves to use them myself," you responded, causing Nami to laugh and playfully swat at your arm.
"What about you? What do you think of Zoro?" Nami asked after finishing her drink.
"Daddy," you blurted out, causing Nami to burst into laughter again.
"Oh, Daddy, huh?" Nami teased, raising an eyebrow mischievously.
"I never took you for the paternal type, Y/N. Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me?" she added, laughing uncontrollably as your face turned beet red.
"It's not what you think," you muttered, your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
"Of course not," Nami teased, "Don't worry, I'll keep this a secret between the both of us," she added, still giggling at your embarrassment.
It was unknown to them that Zoro had been listening to their conversation from behind the door while they were talking.
His face turned slightly red at your unexpected response, and he quickly turned away, pretending not to have heard anything.
"Daddy, huh?" Zoro muttered to himself, flustered and completely forgetting about the sword he was going to retrieve.
He couldn't help but wonder what you meant by calling him "Daddy." The unexpected revelation left him feeling both intrigued and slightly embarrassed. . . .
✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚: *✧・゚:*✧・゚:
After landing on another weird island, the crew was separated into two team; Nami, you, Zoro, Usopp and Robin, Franky, Luffy and Sanji while the rest stayed at the ship.
Unfortunately for you, you were stuck with the two biggest scaredy cats and a man with no sense of direction. What good luck did you really have?
First Zoro had got lost as soon as the group stepped into the forest and then a 13 foot tiger came over and scared the scaredy cat duo away, leaving you with a tamed tiger and an untamed forest.
"Where are these guys?" You asked yourself as the tiger let you on its back and they started to walk deeper into the mysterious forest.
The dense foliage began to give way to a clearing, revealing a hidden paradise unlike anything you had ever seen before.
"Where is who?" A voice said behind you, making you jump and turn around with your sword in your hands.
To your surprise, it was none other than Zoro himself, who had finally found his way back to you. "Zoro! How did you...?" you stammered, unable to hide your astonishment.
"Oh, were you looking for me?" Zoro smirked, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I guess even a sense of direction as terrible as mine can still lead me to the right place. Lucky you, huh?"
You blushed at his comment, feeling a mix of annoyance and admiration for Zoro's confident demeanor. Placing your sword back into the sword holder, you replied, "Luck has nothing to do with it. I was perfectly capable of handling myself without you, you know."
"Of course you wouldn't admit it," Zoro said casually, walking closer to you on the tiger's back.
"Admit what?"
"Admit that you missed me," Zoro teased with a mischievous grin, his eyes gleaming with amusement.
"Why would I miss you?" you retorted, rolling your eyes. "I was doing just fine without your sense of direction and constant bickering. In fact, it was quite peaceful."
Zoro chuckled, his grin widening. "Oh, I see. So you don't miss my amazing company, huh? Then why did I hear that my nickname is daddy?"
"You spun around and looked at him in shock, unable to believe what you just heard. "Who told you that?" you asked, your voice filled with disbelief.
Zoro bursts into laughter, thoroughly enjoying your reaction. "Ah, so you do miss me after all," he said, his eyes twinkling mischievously.
How does he know? Did Nami tell him or was he at the door when I said it out loud?
"N-No," you said, your cheeks turning red with embarrassment. "That was just a silly joke someone made. It doesn't mean anything."
Zoro's laughter subsided, and he looked at you with a playful glint in his eyes. "Sure, sure," he said, his tone teasing. "Whatever you say, Y/N."
"So as your daddy, shouldn't you be more nice to me," his voice said behind you, catching you off guard.
A hand crept up to your waist, causing a shiver to run down your spine. You turned to find Zoro standing close, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. "Or maybe I should teach you a lesson," he whispered, his voice low and seductive.
You raised an eyebrow, trying to maintain your composure despite the sudden proximity. "Oh, is that a threat, Zoro? I'd love to see you try," you replied, a smirk of your own forming on your lips.
Zoro's mischievous grin grew wider as he leaned in closer, his breath brushing against your ear. "Oh, it's not a threat, Y/N," he murmured huskily. "It's a promise."
Quickly, you turned round to face him, unable to resist the magnetic pull between you. The air crackled with tension as his mischievous grin transformed into a smoldering gaze, and you couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through your body.
"How do you intend on fulfilling this promise?" you challenged, a mix of curiosity and anticipation in your voice. Zoro's eyes sparkled with mischief as he leaned in even closer, his lips dangerously close to yours.
"Oh, I have a few ideas," he whispered, his voice sending shivers down your spine.
"Well, I guess we'll just have to see if your actions can live up to your words," you responded, a playful glint in your eyes.
Zoro's lips gently brushed against yours, sending an electric jolt through your body.
The kiss started soft and tender, filled with a mix of longing and desire. As the intensity grew, his grip on your waist tightened, pulling you closer as your lips moved in perfect synchronization.
Time seemed to stand still as the world faded away, and all that mattered was the intoxicating sensation of his lips against yours. Every touch, every movement, was a dance of passion and connection, igniting a fire that burned between you.
It was a kiss that spoke volumes, a promise of the desire and pleasure that awaited as you surrendered to the magnetic pull between you. . . .
Nami grinned and explained, "It's a game where I'll say a word, and you have to say the first word that comes to mind."
"Sounds like a fun game! I'm up for the challenge," you replied with a competitive glint in your eyes.
"Okay, what would you associate with me?" Nami asked.
"Being the navigator," you said confidently.
"Wow, not drawing a map of the entire world?" Nami pouted, taking a sip of her drink.
"Well more people know you for your weather skills," you said, not affected by her whining.
"Okay, now what do you associate with me?" you asked, snacking one on the Sanji's desserts.
"Probably Sanji,"
"Sanji? Why Sanji?" you repeated, surprised.
Nami questioned, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Well, I see you are with him."
"What do you mean?"
"Like how you're nice to him all the time," Nami gave an example.
"I'm being nice to him because he's nice to me," you responded, causing Nami to laugh and playfully swat at your arm.
"What about you? What do you think of Sanji?" Nami asked after finishing her drink.
"Daddy," you blurted out, causing Nami to burst into laughter again.
"Oh, Daddy, huh?" Nami teased, raising an eyebrow mischievously.
"I never took you for the paternal type, Y/N. Are you sure there's nothing you want to tell me?" she added, laughing uncontrollably as your face turned beet red.
"It's not what you think," you muttered shyly, your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
"Of course not," Nami teased, "Don't worry, I'll keep this a secret between the both of us," she added, still giggling at your embarrassment.
Suddenly, you two heard a thud behind the door, causing both Nami's laughter and your embarrassment to fade instantly. They exchanged worried glances before cautiously approaching the door to investigate the source of the noise.
As blood started to leak into the room, they exchanged a horrified look before cautiously opening the door to find someone lying unconscious on the floor.
As they got a closer look, they realized it was Sanji lying unconscious on the floor. Panic washed over them as they quickly checked for any signs of injury, hoping he was alright.
Instead, they found that all of the bleeding came from his nose, and there were no other visible signs of injury.
"Sanji?" you whispered, shaking his shoulder gently. As he stirred awake, you asked, your voice filled with concern, "What happened? Are you okay?"
"Y/N?" Sanji muttered, his eyes still closed, "She thinks of me as a daddy?"
Nami sighed behind you, "he's such a pervert," before walking back into the room. . . .
Sanji had passed out again after waking up the first time. Worried, you quickly called Chopper, knowing that Sanji needed medical attention and that he would be the best person to help get him back to his bed.
Chopper decided it was best to supervise Sanji in his doctor's office and turned into Heavy Point form to carry Sanji away, saying goodbye to you.
Feeling bad since you kind of caused Sanji to collapse, you decided to clean the dirty dishes he was supposed to do.
It's been five months since you joined the straw hat crew. Even though those months went by quickly, one particular blonde kept capturing your attention. Sanji's charm and chivalry had a way of drawing you in, and you found yourself growing more and more fond of him with each passing day.
You felt your face heat up as you remembered that Sanji had heard your conversation with Nami. The thought of him knowing your true feelings for him made your heart race and your cheeks flush even more.
"Why did I say that?" you muttered to yourself, regretting the slip of your true feelings. The embarrassment overwhelmed you, but deep down, a small part of you hoped that Sanji's passing out was due to something else entirely, and not your confession.
As you scrubbed the dirty dishes, you couldn't help but wish that Sanji would sleep until tomorrow, sparing you from the awkwardness and embarrassment.
However, with your captain's insatiable hunger and the pile of 50 plates waiting to be washed, it seemed like you would have to face Sanji sooner than you had hoped.
Lost in your thoughts, you didn't realize that someone had quietly entered the kitchen until you felt a warm breath on your neck.
Startled, you turned around to find Sanji standing behind you, a concerned expression on his face. His arms were placed on top of yours, taking the plate that was about to fall out of your hands.
"Let me help you," he said softly, his voice filled with warmth and reassurance.
"Sanji! Aren't you supposed to be with Chopper?" you asked, turning around to face him, surprised by his presence in the kitchen.
Sanji smiled gently, his concerned expression turning into a playful one. "And leave you to do my duties? There is no way I would let you do it alone."
"But I caused this," you muttered, your hand gesturing to the bandage wrapped around Sanji's head. "I'm sorry for making you collapse earlier." Sanji's playful expression softened, and he gently grabbed your hand with his.
"Don't blame yourself," he reassured you. "It wasn't your fault. I should have taken better care of myself."
"Really?" you asked, your voice filled with disbelief. Sanji chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with warmth. "Really," he replied, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze.
As he spoke, he placed your hand on his cheek, his face turning slightly towards it. "In fact," he said, his voice filled with sincerity, "hearing your confession made me realize how much I care about you too."
Your heart skipped a beat as you processed Sanji's words, and a smile slowly spread across your face. "I'm glad," you whispered, your voice filled with genuine happiness.
"I care about you too, Sanji."
Slowly, your other hand rose up to link around Sanji's neck, pulling him closer to you.
"Can I kiss you?" Sanji muttered, his voice barely audible. You felt your cheeks flush as his words hung in the air, and without hesitation, you leaned in, closing the gap between you and sealing the moment with a gentle kiss.
Sanji moved back first, letting you catch your breath and giving you a moment to process the intensity of the kiss. As you both pulled away, a soft smile lingered on your lips, and you could see the same happiness reflected in Sanji's eyes.
"So you think of me as a daddy, huh?" he teased, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Blushing, you took your hands away from his shoulder and used them to cover your face, feeling a mix of embarrassment and delight. "N-no! I mean, it's not like that!" you stammered, trying to hide your flushed cheeks.
Sanji chuckled, his playful teasing evident in his voice. "Relax, I was just kidding," he said, his eyes filled with affection as he gently pulled your hands away from your face.
"I mean the other kind of 'daddy'," you muttered, unable to look into his eyes.
"Are you sure you want that with me?" he questioned, raising your chin up to have eye contact with him.
You nodded, feeling a rush of courage and vulnerability intertwine. Wrapping your hands around his neck again, you gazed into his eyes and whispered, "Yes, Sanji. I want that with you."
Sanji quickly sneaked his hands low enough to lift you onto the kitchen counter, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
His lips found yours again, this time with a hunger that matched your own, as you both surrendered to the passion that had been building between you.
You felt your hands slide around his neck as you pulled him closer, the two of you lost in a heated embrace. His lips trailed down your neck, sending waves of pleasure through your body as your heart raced. You both pulled away, both breathing heavily as you looked into each other's eyes.
"I love you, daddy," you muttered, your voice filled with genuine affection and admiration.
"I love you too, my darling." Sanji said, capturing your lips one more time, sealing your declaration of love with a passionate kiss that left you breathless and craving for more. . . .
Chapter 1 - 9 Out 10 Doctors Prescribe Child Rearing for Emotionally Constipated Families
Masterpost | Chapter Two Was he still wearing traffic light colors? No. Was Bruce going senile as he got older? Yes, and he was gathering evidence of it every day.
Dick wondered once again why they were having so many issues between them as he swung to the next rooftop, landing almost gracefully amongst the leftover rain on the asphalt. Stumbling on his feet was embarrassing nonetheless and he grumbled to himself as he kicked a pebble across the roof, watching as it hit an old AC unit with a hollow clang. Honestly, he came to Gotham to help Bruce out of the goodness of his heart while Tim is out of town and how does the man respond? By treating him like he's still a little Robin meant to dutifully take orders without question!
“Fucking old man, treating me like I'm a kid,” Dick muttered under his breath, not caring who heard him nearby, he was alone on the roof anyway.
“This ‘fucking old man’ can still hear you,” Batman’s deadpan voice came over the line. Dick froze on the spot, shoulders tightening as he heard the quiet undertones of anger. Oops, comms were still on and open to the shared channel… “Either mute your comms or keep those thoughts to yourself, Nightwing.”
Dick pondered for a minute, putting his hand on his chin like he was really thinking on the idea before he responded. “Nope, I'll pass,” he told Batman cheekily, smirking to himself. He was an adult now. While Bruce may have taken him in and taught him all he knew at Dick's lowest point, it doesn't mean the man gets to treat him like a child anytime he comes by home Gotham.
He was his own grown man. Nightwing had his own city to protect now–he was even a well-established member of the hero community in his own right! He didn’t need some emo flying furry telling him what to do anymore. Covering his eyes from the light drizzle that had picked up again, he observed the area below him, staying alert for any sort of disturbance that may pop up and ignoring Bruce’s displeased grunts. It wouldn’t be good if Dick were to miss a crime after their little “spat” earlier, as Aflred would call it. A screaming match was a more accurate description if you asked anyone else, and he was not willing to let it open him up to more criticism from the “World’s Greatest Detective” later on when they were back in the Cave.
Stiffly, the black and blue clad vigilante stalked to the edge of the darkened rooftop, trying his best to not clench his fists like some angsty teenager. What was he even hoping to gain, coming back here? The man stood, pondering as he gazed down at the busy streets of his childhood home. A pat on the head, like the good little dog he was acting like? Bruce calls, so he comes running? Dick scoffed at himself, turning his head sharply. He aimed his grapple, firing it at the corner of a nearby building. With the grace born from years of practice, Nightwing danced between towering structures as he continued his Batman-approved patrol route.
“Nightwing, behave yourself over comms or you will go back to the Cave for the night.” Dick grit his teeth, jaw clenched tight as Bruce tried to basically ground him. He shook his head, preparing to land on the next rooftop, but stopping just shy to grab onto a gargoyle sitting on the edge of a lower office building. Leaning against the cold surface, Dick felt the sharp points of the creature’s horns digging into his back help to ground him in the moment.
“Batman, you do not have a say over my actions or whether I am benched anymore,” Dick told him, evenly spacing out his breaths as he tried to keep the rage at bay. He felt like there was a ball of heat in his chest he was desperately trying to cool as he methodically rubbed his gloved fingers over the stone ridges of the statue's ugly face.
“Nightwing–” Bruce started to grunt, so Dick turned off his comms as a response and took in a deep breath of the familiar, smoggy Gotham air. This city may not have been where he was born, and he may not live here anymore, but the man found peace flying through her night sky. This would always be his home. As ugly and villain-infested as it may be… This shithole was his shithole.
Ever since Jason passed, Dick knew things needed to change so he could preserve this feeling and keep this dysfunctional family intact. Tim helped a lot in the beginning, when Dick was too bitter to do more than practically tell a thirteen-year-old to handle a drunkard on his own. But, he's trying to make up for it now by helping on patrol and making them all participate in family dinners twice a month. It wasn't much, and he could admit it wasn't really working since he'd noticed Tim wearing sound proof headphones more often than not when Dick and Bruce were together. It broke his heart that another little brother of his felt like he needed to prepare himself for an inevitable screaming match from his family members.
Dick was trying, he really was. But Bruce just made everything so hard.
He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of multiple trash cans falling over each other nearby. His face twisted in confusion, eyebrows scrunching together as his head whipped around to find the source of the noise. Body becoming a tightly coiled spring of focused intent, he silently crept closer to where he heard the cacophony. The noise became apparent in the way of a metal lid rolling out of the alley below and into the street like a quarter, spinning and spinning for a moment before falling flat. Dick cautiously peered over the edge of the roof, eyebrow raised at what he could imagine he'd find. A goon passed out drunk? A working girl kicking the nuts of a deadbeat harassing her? An internet famous Gotham-patented radioactive raccoon?
What he certainly did not expect was an unruly mop of black hair peeking out above the trash cans, only visible against the dark of night in contrast to the silver metal they clung to with tiny baby hands. He watched in disbelief as this child (so tiny and cute, he had to admit) stumbled to their feet, swaying as little as they reached for the contents of the trash. Dick felt sick just looking at the spill, but he felt worse knowing the child was doing this out of desperation. Tapping on his lenses, they zoomed in on the kid and he saw how small they were and how scrawny they looked. Alfred would faint at the sight of how skinny this child was and Dick would be right there with the old butler.
Making a quick decision, Dick hastily hopped onto a pipe that clung to the building he stood on and quietly slid down it like a fireman's pole. He didn't want to scare the small child who, at closer inspection now that he was on the ground, looked similarly disgusted at their options before them. The kid was still swaying, the movement picking up in speed before they plopped onto the asphalt, groaning.
Dick rushed forward, panicking, but his sudden burst of speed startled the child. The tiny twig of a human scrambled back, a weakened wheeze of panic bursting from their lungs as they held out a small hand to ward off the vigilante.
“Hey, hey now,” Dick soothed as he crouched down to make himself seem smaller. “It’s okay, you’re okay…I’m not gonna hurt you.” The practiced “soothe the victim” voice was easy to fall into as domino-covered eyes worryingly took in the shaking child. He wanted to reassure this kid as much as possible, but he knew that he couldn't promise them anything. Making a promise to a child was important, he learned young that if you couldn't keep that promise the child would see it as a loss of trust.
“S-stay back!” The kid’s squeaky voice tugged at Dick’s heartstrings with how much terror it held. “Yo-you can’t t-take me!”
Dick slowly lowered himself to fully sit down on the filthy, trash-covered alley. He grimaced at the smell (was that sludge on his glove?) and he crossed his legs, letting his arms hang disarmingly on his knees. Keeping his body language loose and unassuming, Dick smiled goofily at the other. “My name’s Nightwing, I’m one of the heroes here in Gotham tonight. You’re safe now, no one’s going to take you while I'm here.”
Icy blue eyes peered out from behind a dirt-stained hand, reminding Dick of a different time, a different alley-found kid who was taken too soon. By Batman's stinky cowl would he let another one be lost to the horrors of this city as well. When the kid spoke, their voice was full of doubt. “How can I trust you? For all I know you could be some weirdo looking to kidnap me!”
A surprised laugh burst from Dick before he could contain himself, causing the filthy child to flinch away with a startled squeak. He sobered up quickly at that reaction however, leaning away from the kid to give the illusion Dick was no longer directly in their space, but still close enough to keep an eye on them. He's met children like this before, wary of adults or the world around them in general, only relying on themselves at an age where they can't do enough to keep their heads above water. Blinking rapidly at the thought to hold back his tears, Dick remembered when Jason first came to the manor. Even as distant as he was with his brother at the time, he saw how the pre-teen acted out of self preservation even months into Alfred's mother-henning.
This kid had the same fear written in the lines on his young face, as well as the same steel of determination in his eyes. Dick respected it, but he still was worried about this child who looked like they hadn't eaten a proper meal or slept in a bed in months.
“I might be a weirdo to some people for sure,” Dick agreed casually. The kid blinked in surprise and he grinned a little in triumph, quickly smothering it with a serious expression. Exaggerating his actions, Dick twisted his head this way and that around the alley as though checking for anyone listening in, before he leaned a little bit forward with his hand blocking his mouth. The child shuffled forward a few inches, alternating between staring him down and checking the alley themselves with wide eyes. Dick resisted the urge to laugh again, focusing on trying to ease the kid into believing that he was safe.
“Between you and me? My friends think I'm a super big weirdo for putting peach jam in my pb & j's,” he told the kid, nodding his head sagely. All he got was a deadpan look in response, all of the sudden interest he got was lost from the kid before him.
“So you're not just a weirdo, but also super lame with no taste buds?”
Wow, okay, so Dick was a little offended… or maybe he was impressed? The kid gave him a look that was reminiscent of Alfred or Jason when he tried to argue he could help in the kitchen. The “are you seriously this stupid to defend yourself like that” look.
Yeah, maybe a little more offended than anything. Didn't mean the kid wasn't cute while doing it.
Quick thinking made Dick grab at his uniform with striped fingers, gripping the fabric around his heart. “Ouch!” He wailed dramatically, flopping his legs forward as he used his toned core muscles to lean backwards, careful to not let more of the filthy alley touch him. “Ah! Truly a strong opponent, I cannot win!”
Quiet giggles echoed around the alley, causing Dick to grin in triumph. He titled his head to the side a bit to better see the small child. Their face was scrunched up in mirth, both hands covering their mouth in an attempt to better muffle the joyful sounds trying to escape. Encouraged by this, Dick resolved to continue to give the best performance of his life.
“I will simply never recover,” Dick moaned, making his body twitch dramatically. “This is how I die…the great Nightwing, struck down in a battle of wits by a toddler!” He gasped, reaching one hand up to the sky as he gave his big finale. “I can…see the light! It’s calling me…must…go…” He murmured quietly before giving a final spasm with an extremely convincing “blegh”, letting his arm drop to his chest and sticking his tongue out of his mouth.
As the giggles continued, they got closer. Peaking an eye open just a bit, Dick could see the kid toddling closer to the felled hero. “You’re silly,” they said, poking at Dick’s cheek hesitantly. “That’s not what death looks like.”
Dick could feel his heart shatter. This kid, no more than, what? Maybe four or five years old? This poor, tiny child was trying to correct Dick on what dying looked like. It made Bludhaven’s protector want to just scoop them up and wrap them up in a giant, fluffy blanket and protect them from the world.
“It’s a good thing I’m not actually dead then, huh?” Dick said with a grin, trying so hard to not let what he was feeling filter through. Bright smile for the tiny concerning child, bright smile.
The child cocked their head to the side like a curious puppy. “Well, duh,” the little thing scoffed, relaxing a bit at the horizontal hero. “I'd know it if you were actually dead.”
*****************
He really needed to get some meat on this kid’s bones, like immediately. Dick felt like he was carrying a small bag of potatoes while he grappled through the streets of downtown Gotham towards Wayne Enterprises to meet B for their patrol check in. Maybe if he showed the kid to Alfred, he could just keep him safe at the manor and he wouldn't worry about the tiny thing in his arms being so tiny anymore.
“Where are we going?” A squeaky voice shouted in his left ear. Was there a ringing bell nearby?
Dick smirked, glancing quickly at the child before shooting his gun at the side of Wayne Enterprises, clicking the side button and rocketing them up the side of the skyscraper. He heard a soft gasp over the rush of wind before his world was filled with small, uncontrollable giggles and Dick tightened his hold.
“We gotta meet up with someone, little one!” He cheerfully shouted back as the duo landed at the top of the tower. With his feet squarely against solid concrete, Dick set the child down to face away from the large drop off the side of the building. He was worried the kid would either get scared, or want to try jumping off and he wasn't sure which was worse right now. A quick glance around told Dick that Bruce was still doing his own patrol. “Just stay away from the edge, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah,” the little sass monster said as they shakily walked towards the center of the helipad. “I’m not dumb.”
“Uh huh,” Dick sassed back as he hovered over the kid. “You wanna tell me your name yet?”
Cold eyes narrowed as the child looked up at Dick. “No, you’re still a weirdo.”
Yikes, Dick thought. Whoever this kid's parents were deserved an award for raising such a menace to society. “Okay, okay,” he said airly. “I’ll figure it out one day, just you watch.”
“Oh, so now you’re a stalker, too?” The kid said as they flopped onto the concrete flooring. “Maybe I should’ve run away. Stranger danger and all that nonsense.” They flapped an itty-bitty hand dismissively.
“I thought we established that I wasn’t a stranger already?” Dick wasn’t pouting. He was an adult, and adults don’t pout at children winning in a battle of sass.
“No, we just established that you don’t know what it looks like when people die. Do you even pay attention to anything?”
Dick rolled his eyes, sauntering over to nudge his foot against the kid's thigh. “I paid enough attention to notice that you're good at avoiding questions. Why is that?”
“Nunya,” they told him. Dick felt the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose. No, he would not act like Bruce.
“Nope, I'm not playing that one,” Dick told the kid, who pouted that they couldn't finish the joke. “Come on, I can't keep calling you ‘kid’ or ‘that tiny child lighter than a grape’ now can I?”
They squinted at Dick, crossing their arms awkwardly since they seemed to refuse moving from their starfish position on the ground. “Rude. You talk to every kid you meet like that?”
Dick smirked, “Just the ones who think they’re tall enough to talk back? Where do you reach on me again?” Dick mimed checking the kid's height against himself and stopped with it below his knees. Was it petty to make fun of the small child’s height? Yes, but he didn’t care. “Oh right, sorry but you're not tall enough to verbally attack this adult.”
“Whatever,” they muttered, turning away from Dick. But he noticed the kid kept him within their peripheral vision, just enough of an angle to pretend they couldn't see Dick even if his every movement was being tracked by blue eyes. It was just like how Jason acted, back when he was first introduced to life in the manor. Luckily, that meant that Dick had more than enough experience with snotty scared children to make sure this one kept feeling safe around him.
“So,” Dick said after a few moments of silence. “Like I said earlier, we’re gonna be meeting up with someone. But what I didn't mention was that it's Batman.”
“What kind of name is that?” The kid said, their spunk seemingly reviving itself in the few minutes where they didn’t speak. “Who wakes up one morning and decides to name their kid things like Nightwing and Batman?”
Dick spluttered. “It’s a superhero name, kid. It’s meant to not be normal.”
“You should’ve been named Jeff. Now Jeff is a good name.”
Dick paused, scrunched his nose a little in confusion before responding. “So, do you want me to call you Jeff since you like it so much?”
The kid scoffed, not fully paying attention and obviously still insulting him mentally. “Pffsh, no, call me Danny because my name isn't Jeff, stupid.”
Dick smiled like the cat who ate the canary. “Well, well, Danny is such a nice name,” he told Danny. Dick was enjoying the expression on his face when he realized that he messed up, the horror seeping into his features and a devastated tilt to his lips as he turned to Dick. “Thank you for telling me, now is Danny short for anything?”
Danny pouted and it was so cute Dick wanted to coo and squish his little cheeks. “No, just Danny, you weirdo.”
“No last name?” Dick prodded, poking at Danny’s thigh.
“You’re subtle.”
“And you’re going to answer!” Dick cheerfully said, walking around to stand at the front of the black-haired boy.
“You can’t make me do anything,” Danny glared up at Dick, arms still crossed. “You’re not my dad.”
Dick wasn't sure why that comment stung unlike the others, but he moved past it. He scoffed obnoxiously and mimicked Danny's pose, jutting his hip out in a move of pure sass. “Well I may not be but–”
“Nightwing.”
Dick froze with whatever bullshit he'd pull out of his ass dying on his lips. He saw Danny raise a questioning eyebrow at the scene, clearly interested in the drama, but Dick didn't focus on it. Instead, like always, he responded to Batman's voice. It didn't matter he wasn't Robin anymore and someone else held the title, it didn't matter he was all grown up and had his own name now. When Batman called, a Robin always whistled back, standing at attention like the “good little soldiers” they were.
Sighing, he turned around and put his hands behind his back, feet spread apart as he nodded at Batman. Because this wasn't his father figure, the man who raised him despite the emotional intelligence of an ant. This was Batman, who didn't take disappointment or inadequacy from his sidekicks. No matter what happens, we'll always be little soldiers reporting for duty, won't we?
“Batman, no unusual activity for the night. There were the two robberies I reported on patrol, as well as stopping a street girl from being taken into an alley and shot. Oracle has the recordings from my suit already uploaded for review.” Simple, to the point, just the way Bruce liked it. All done.
“Hrn.”
What? What did he forget?
“Hey! Why do you go around with your underwear outside your pants like that?” Danny interrupted.
Oh…right, he forgot about Danny for a minute there.
The silence across the rooftop was louder than any words shouted into the night sky could be. Dick tensed as he shifted, covering more of Danny from Batman's view as he watched the man's cowl wrinkle up. Internally he winced, wishing he had honestly thought this out better but at the time, he had only been focused on gaining Danny's trust. Once he had it, something in him wouldn't let the kid go and, frankly, he didn't want to. But in hindsight, this was definitely not one of his best ideas. He snorted lightly, thinking Jason would have made fun of him for being an idiot right now–like the time he tried to catch a runaway ice cream cart and slipped into a pile of cold sugar that spilled on the ground instead.
“Why do you have a civilian child here, Nightwing?” Batman practically growled, causing Dick to frown and tense his shoulders in a defensive response. He knew the man had been having problems since Jason's death. Tim had been trying his best to help Bruce out of a dark place, but sometimes he seemed to fall back into those old, angrier patterns on them. It was not appreciated, but he knew it took time to work through grief. It was small mercies the man wasn't sending people to the hospital or himself into an early grave on the daily anymore.
He cleared his throat awkwardly. “Well, during my patrol I noticed a disturbance in an alley and–”
“He met me! So, why are you looking at Nightwing like he's a bad guy, Batman? Aren't you two friends?” Danny popped up at his side all of a sudden. Dick startled, quickly shooting a glance at where the boy had been five feet away and he wondered at how he didn't hear so much as a squeak until Danny spoke. “You shouldn't be mean to your friends,” he nodded sagely at his own words and Dick held in a snort of amusement. “That's what she always used to tell me.”
Dick paused. Danny hadn't mentioned anyone he knew before now. Ignoring Batman's glowering, he tilted his head down to catch Danny's eyes. But the kid was gazing past them both, the bright blue dulling in the throes of some kind of possible memory. Telegraphing his movements slowly, Dick lightly touched the tips of his fingers to Danny's shoulder and whispered his name. “Danny? You okay in there, bud?”
It took a moment for the kid to shake his head like an old, wet dog, blinking slowly and gazing back at Dick. He nodded, glancing down at his tiny hands as though they held all of the answers to the universe’ most difficult questions. “Yeah, I’m good. Why?”
“You spaced out there a little bit,” Dick carefully told him. He watched Danny’s eyebrow’s furrow and mentally debated pushing. He was curious if the child would open up to him a little despite the hulking bat furry standing behind him like a living shadow. Cautiously, he held his hand a little more firmly on Danny’s shoulder and asked him what he was wondering. “Danny, who is this ‘she’ you mentioned?”
“Uhh…” Danny stalled, titling his head and giving an awkward smile that was barely more than a tick of the lips and didn’t reach his eyes. “I don’t know?”
“Alright, kiddo.” Dick murmured, a bit disheartened hearing the response, but doing his best to not show it. He gave a sharp nod and turned his head to look at his mentor. “But, yeah, B he’s right. Shouldn’t you be nicer to me?”
“You’re endangering a child, Nightwing.” Batman growled, disapproval practically flowing off the man. It took years upon years for Dick to understand the different levels of Bruce’s inflections and what they meant, like learning a whole new language. But now? It was clear as day to him looking at the man. The big, bad bat was pissed and disappointed at his oldest protege’s actions. Dick tried to not let it hurt him (and show on his face) as much as it did.
But he also felt a flare of anger swell up in his chest. Indignant, Dick stepped forward, close enough to block Danny completely from Batman's sight and get in the Dark Knight’s face. “You want to talk about endangering children, B? You would know all about that, wouldn't you? Picking us up off the streets like party favors.”
Dick shook his head, a scoff falling from his lips as his hands vibrated with the anger now burning his veins at the hypocrisy of the moment. A quick tug to his leg made him stumble though, and he almost fell when Danny barged past him. A cry on the tip of his tongue, Dick watched as the little tyke stomped over to Batman and crossed his tiny arms.
“Hey! He may be a total weirdo, but Nightwing is really nice and he's been taking good care of me!” Danny pointed a finger at Batman and Dick realized with dawning horror and amusement that this child was lecturing B, for him. He felt his heart beat as tears pricked the corners of his eyes. “So you stop bullying him right now!”
“Kid,” B started gruffly, reaching a hand to grab him, probably. But Danny smacked his gloved hand away and took a shaky step back. He stumbled over his feet closer to where a stunned Dick stood, gaping at the scene before him.
“NO! I DON'T WANT YOU TO TOUCH ME, I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU SAY! HE'S NOT NICE!” Danny shouted at the top of his lungs, shaking arms firmly clung to either side of him. His body faced Batman, but his head was turned to a spot just over the man's shoulder. The kid started swaying side to side again, and Dick knew that tears were welling in Danny’s eyes even if he couldn’t see the boy’s face.
Dick scrambled forward, recognizing the signs from earlier. The vigilante caught the child in his arms and pulled out his grapple gun. “We will discuss this more later, at the Cave. But right now Danny is upset, so I'm going to take him to Agent A. For the rest of the night, you're on your own.”
He whispered comforting nonsense to the shaking, brooding child in his arms as he walked away and didn't look back. Not even when Danny heavily propped his chin on Dick's shoulder to keep an eye on Batman as they left. “What was all that about Danny? Who were you yelling at?”
Dick was sure Danny wasn’t talking to Bruce at that time, his head had been tilted too far to the left and he spoke as though he were talking about Bruce to someone else. But no one had been there. It made him a little concerned he might have something in his system and resolved to have Alfred examine him after they got some real food into Danny.
Danny cut him a quick glance out of the corner of his eye, not bothering to move his head’s position and smirked maliciously. If he didn't think everything about this kid was adorable, he'd probably be unnerved at the expression, paired with little baby fangs poking past his lips he hadn’t noticed earlier. Danny replied to him, but in a loud enough voice so that it would carry across the roof to where they left Bruce, no doubt standing guard as he watched them leave.
“I was talking to the ghosts that follow him, duh.”
Can you write something about Reader x Fili when Readers human friend braids their hair in a platonic way but the dwarves, due to their traditions, assume its romantic and Fili is like really sad cause he wanted to ask reader to court?? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi! Thank you for your request! Fili is one of my favorites, so I had a lot of fun writing this one. 💖🎉
The Misread Braid: Part 1
Rating:fluff/angst/ sfw
Relationship: filixreader
Author note: For some reason, I keep getting errors when I try to post the whole thing, so I will have to split it into two posts
It had been a year since Erebor was reclaimed. The dwarves were slowly returning, the city was being rebuilt, and everyone's spirits were high—especially Fili's. He had fallen head over heels for you. The flirting, the lingering glances, and the late-night strolls made it clear to everyone that a royal wedding might be on the horizon. The feelings between you two were undeniable, and everyone, including you, could see it.
You even wrote to your friend from home, inviting them to visit for a month. You had a feeling Fili might soon ask to court you, and you wanted your friend's help to look your best. Erebor didn't have the amenities you were used to, so you asked your friend to bring as much as possible. You even asked them to bring a lovespoon, a courting tradition for your hometown. You weren't familiar with Dwarven courting rituals but were excited to see what Fili would do.
—------------
One day, Fili was out handling his daily duties when he spotted you standing on the ramparts overlooking Dale.
"Y/N?" he called out, a smile spreading across his face.
You turned and saw him. "Fili!" you exclaimed, running over to hug him.
You stayed in each other's embrace for a while. "What are you doing out here?" he asked, his arms lingering on yours. "It's freezing."
"I was just too excited," you replied. "My friend is coming to visit."
"That's right, they're coming today, aren't they?" he asked
"Yes!" you squealed with excitement. "Oh, I'm so excited for you to meet them!
Fili chuckled. "I'm excited to meet them, too! I have a meeting with Thorin today, but find me later, and we can all have dinner together."
"Sounds perfect!" you agreed.
Fili smiled and waved goodbye, his heart light and his smile wide. He was planning to court you later that week and was on his way to talk to Thorin about it. Everything was going to be perfect!
—------------
Later that evening, everyone gathered to meet your friend at the tavern. The air was filled with laughter and lively conversation as Fili walked in, eager to make a good impression.
"Fili, over here!" you called, waving him over.
Fili walked over and hugged you. "This is my friend," you said, introducing them.
"Nice to meet you," Fili said, shaking their hand.
"So this is Fili," your friend said, elbowing you playfully. "What a dream boat, Y/N?"
"Stop it!" you giggled, playfully hitting their arm.
Fili was confused. "Dreamboat?" he thought.
"Come on, let's get some beer," you said, leaning on Fili's arm. You walked to the table, where everyone was still bombarding your friend with questions.
"Tell me," Dwalin asked, "how was the journey? Long?"
"Not too long, about four months—it would've been sooner, but it started to snow," your friend replied.
"Snow!" Bilbo exclaimed.
"Where are you staying?" Kili asked.
"With Y/N," your friend responded.
Fili started feeling a twinge of jealousy and confusion. He didn't know your friend was staying with you? He tried to dismiss his growing discomfort. "Calm down, Fili," he told himself. “It's just Y/N being nice to a friend, nothing more." He took a swig of his beer and forced a smile.
But as the evening went on, there were more moments when Fili could not shake the jealous feeling. Your friend bought you beer, touched your arm, and you even danced with them. Fili was all mixed up and even agreed to take you two to the Dale the next day! “How did that happen?” He thought. Maybe he was overreacting. There was no reason to be worked up; he just met them. But FIli's thoughts were interrupted.
"That dress really commands attention," your friend said. They leaned into you and touched your tunic. You wrapped your arms around them and laughed, blushing a little.
Fili choked on his drink. He didn't think the night could get worse. He felt horrible and wanted to just leave. Getting up, he went to the bar to close his tab. Kili and Bilbo were there getting more drinks for the table.
"Leaving so soon?" Bilbo asked
"Yeah," Fili said shortly
"Why?" Kili asked. "It's not even that late."
Fili shrugged.
"Come on, stay a little longer. I bet y/n would want you to walk them home." Kili said.
"They have their friend, remember" Fili scoffed.
"They're just friends; I wouldn't worry about it. Plus, Y/N told me they invited them for a special reason." Kili laughed
"Maybe y/n thinks something is going to happen… a royal courtship perhaps" Bilbo winked
Fili looked back at the table. Maybe he could stay. Fili had a feeling you knew he was going to ask. He smiled and shook his head. He was being silly. He was about to say something when he saw your friend lean down, whispering in your ear. You nodded, a blush rising to your cheeks.
"Why did Y/N nod?" Fili muttered, a mix of confusion and jealousy creeping in.
"Are you sure it was a nod?" Kili asked.
"Maybe they are agreeing to something…like another dance," Bilbo suggested, adding to Fili's anxiety.
Your friend then stood up and moved behind you, lazily undoing your bun and letting your hair fall down your back. They picked up a strand and started to braid it.
Bilbo and Kili glanced at Fili, whose face had turned a deep crimson red. Throwing down some money, Fili stammered, "I-I can't watch this anymore," and made a beeline for the door.
"Oh shit," Kili muttered under his breath, realizing the situation.
Still trying to stay positive, Bilbo leaned in and whispered, "It might not have been a braid, right? Maybe it's just a... fancy knot?"
—------------
Consumed with the company of your friends, you stayed out until the wee hours of the morning, laughing and sharing stories. It wasn't until you woke up the next day that you remembered not seeing Fili after he abruptly left the table.
Concerned, you quickly got dressed and decided to go looking for him. Making your way through the busy halls of Erebor, your eyes scanned the faces, hoping to catch a glimpse of him.
You checked the usual spots—the training grounds, the forge, even the quiet corner of the library—but there was no sign of Fili. Growing more anxious, you asked a few dwarves if they had seen him, but they only shook their heads.
Finally, after what felt like hours of searching, you headed toward the ramparts, hoping to find him there. As you approached, you spotted a familiar figure standing alone, his back turned to you, shoulders tense. It was Fili.
"Fili," you said with a sigh of relief, "I've been looking for you everywhere."
Fili didn't look at you.
"You left last night without saying goodbye. What was that about?"
He opened his mouth to speak but couldn't find the words—his heart ached as he noticed you still had the braid in.
"Fili," you said, concerned.
"Sorry, Y/N, I'm super busy. I can't talk right now," he said, clearing his throat.
"But we're supposed to go to Dale today."
"Plans changed," he said quickly
"What does that mean?"
He looked up at you, his eyes red and puffy.
"Are you—?" you trailed off, unsure.
"I gotta go, Y/N," he said, brushing past you, wiping a tear from his face.
just can't get enough
synopsis: you call your boyfriend one day hoping to discuss an unexpected announcement. things take a different turn, leading to a night of burning desire you have for each other.
words: 9,8k
content: 18+, female reader, swearing, vaginal sex, mentions of pregnancy, oral sex.
Toji was leaning against the wall of your living room with his arms crossed and an arched brow. you had called him earlier to discuss the result of a sexy accident you had about seven weeks ago.
he was staring at you waiting for you to finally talk about what you so desperately needed. but your vocal cords just couldn't form the exact sound of the words, leaving the both of you in a matching contest.
“so? d'ya call for us to stare at each other? If that's it woman I'm leaving, I've got things to do ya know.”
“yeah, I know, I'm gathering courage here”
toji raised his eyebrow again, his gaze fixed on you as you fidget with your nails.
“what's there to talk about? spit it out” he leaned closer to you. “look if you killed someone, relax, I've got some contacts, I can just call him and dump it away, easy.”
“killed someone, why do you always jump to that conclusion first? jesus.” You sighed while pacing around the house, looking for things to do, as I'd it would give you the guts to tell him.
“so? don't keep me waiting, babe”
you take a deep breath, finally the courage you needed graced you in a momentarily panic as you spoke. “toji, I… I'm pregnant. I found out last week” you look down, nervously fixing your attire. “I called because I thought you should know”
his eyes widened in surprise, his confidence disapring for a while. “pregnant? are you fuckin’ serious?” he walks to the couch and drops down sitting with all his weight, passing his fingers through his hair.
“shit, I wasn't expecting this.”
“oh believe me neither.” you said walking to stand in front of him
“fuck, maybe that's a good thing, you know.” he smirks, his gaze shifting to your body, and then your face.
you otherwise can't bring yourself to smile, still shocked enough for any other reaction.
toji smirks fades, with a more serious expression as he gets up, lowering his voice as he says “being real, I know it's a fucked up situation, but we both know what we were getting into. and we both know I'm not really the type that settles down.” he caresses your arm with a finger. “but hey, if you want to keep it, I won't run away. we'll figure out what to do, how to raise the thing properly. who knows?” his fingers now gently caressing your cheek. “ I know I'm not the fatherly type, but I'll try my best, ‘kay?”
“I knew that already, you're manwhore” you said leaning on his hands
toji smirks once more, his eyes glinting with some amusement.
“ouch, as if you're not head over heels for this manwhore you brought to your house everyday for the past, what? six months?” his fingers begin tracing lines on your exposed neck. “that doesn't mean we can't have some fun, right? you're looking especially hot today” he trails kisses on your jawline, his aura becoming mischievous incredibly fast. toji stares you down with an expectant look on his face “so, Y/n, what do you say?”
“Is that all you can think about?” you whisper smiling as his soft kisses trail your face and down your neck.
toji chuckles, his voice filled with desire. “what can I say? I'm a man who knows what he wants. and right now I to want you.” he pushes your hair away as he begins to kiss the other side of your neck, sensually sliding your blouse away.
“tell me what you want, y/n.”
“I want you” you respond with even more desire.
“then me you shall receive.” he grunts while picking you up bridal style to take you to your room, drooping you slowly in bed. his kisses begin to be more frenetic on your lips as he lay on top of you.
“fuck I need to taste you, every inch of you, I need your skin against mine.”
he spreads your legs apart, kissing the inside of your thighs, even biting it lightly. In a final kiss to your tights he bites your light shorts off. leaving you almost breathless with such animosity.
your hands now on his hair forcing him to make contact with your clothed intimacy. toji pushes your panties aside just to take a look at your wet folds, pressing his tongue softly before completely ripping it off of you.
“take off your bra.” he commands. “I wanna see them.”
you take them off,now even wetter with his commanding tone, already feeling your insides stir at the grave of his voice.
toji squeezes your left breast before launching his lips on the other, biting your nipple, then sucking it eagerly.
that alone left you a moaning mess, your hiding already bucking on him for friction for your needy cunt, that just couldn't stop juicing around his pants.
his eyes lock with yours, darkened by lust. He let go of your tit with a pop going straight to your heat. he licks his marked lips before planting a kiss on your folds.
“a- ah, TJ, please.” your guide his head even further your cunt, feeling his nose right above your sensitive clit. His lips curl into a wicked smile. “mm, eager, aren't we?” his hot breath against you drives you insane for him. “ don't worry y/n I'll give you just what you want” his tongue teasingly flicking against your entrance. “you taste so good, babe.”
his voice is husky and with such desire as he continues to use his tongue on your heat, no pushing one finger on you expertly finding that right spot that makes you explode in pleasure.
the air filled with the sound of your wetness and his names you mean, pleasing his ears and making him as hard as he ever was.
you begin to bucke even harder on his face. the man eyes filled with satisfaction as he feels you, your moans of pleasure as music to him, that just seems to get louder on each movement of his fingers.
toji adds the second fingers leaving you in a messy state already feeling that knot on your insides ready to release.
toji breath hitches as he feels your wall getting tighter, your fluids all over his mouth sending shivers down his spine. he needed you just as much as you needed him.
his free hand finds your ass lifting you up just a bit.
“i-I'm almost there.” you whine to him.
he picks up the pace, his large fingers doing wonders on your insides, his touch skilled and relentless. In a bliss you feel yourself releasing your juices on his face, creaming around his fingers, your core tightening around him as you reach your peak.
toji eyes widen with delight as he feels your body tremble and collapse on pleasure,your essence all over him. he continues with soft movements prolonging your orgasm fro both your highs. “you're so good to me.” he whispers finally releasing you and plating light kisses on your exposed sensitive cunt.
you pull him by the collar, crashing your tongues together, tasting your own essence as you kisses him in furious passion.
“I'm not done with ya yet. there's so much more I gotta give you.” hspeaks between kisses.
“I need you inside me so bad.” you practically whine to him.
the man's eyes darker even more as he hears your plea, his own need for you growing stronger with every sound you make.
“y/n, you have no idea how badly I want to be inside you right now”
he positions himself between your legs, his voice harsh and lustful. “I'll give you what you want, I'll fill you up so much.”
he slowly enters you, feeling your tightness enveloping him, and almost making him cum right away.
“you feel so fucking good, y/n. so wet and tight for me.”
he starts to move, his thrusts deep and sensual.
“you're too big”, you whine, putting your hand on his chest.
he gives you a sided smile, his confidence busting inside him, as he continues to thrust into you.
“yeah, feel how I stretch you completely.” he picks the pace going faster, his tip hitting that right spot. “but you can take all of me can't you? You're such a good girl to me, taking all my size.” his voice filled with pleasure.
he increases his pace even further, driving you crazier with each hard thrust.
“you're mine, y/n." he groans.
“yeah, I'm all your, toji, fuck me harder, please” you beg to him
he hears your plea, as his thrust destroys every inch of you, leving you moaning his name and creaming around his fat member. each movement drives you closer to the edge.
“you feel so good around me, babe. cum for me”
toji's smile becomes wider as he feels your inside tightening around him, knowing you're on the brink of climax. he maintains his intense pace, and with a loud moan you cum around him, leaving you painting for air while he continues to abuse your cunt. you wrap your legs around his waist leaving no room for him to finish if not on your insides. he grins, knowing what you want, his hands leaving bruises on your hips. his movements become erratic and you know he's close too. with a final thrust, he releases inside you, painting your hole white with his hot seed already spilling out of you. his breathing is heavy and hot on your neck.
“you're fucking amazing y/n.” he leaves a kiss on your forehead while still inside you.
“let's stay like this for a while. I want to feel you” his voice is almost tender. toji crashes his lips on yours again, gently this time, opening your lips to me space for his tongue collapsing on yours. the kiss leaves you breathless, you want to never let go of him. forever attached to him.
“I love you so much like this.” you push his damp hair off his beautiful face, staring in his beautiful green eyes.
you can see his eyes softening at your confession. a vulnerability shining on his globes as he softly whispers in your ear. “I love you too y/n.” he caresses your cheek gently, his voice tender. “you bring a side of me no one else ever did. you make me want to be a better man for you. now more than ever.” his hand now rests on your stomach, leaving gentle touches while he stares affectionately at you.
“I'm glad you feel the same way.” you slap his arm gently. “I need to get cleaned.” you say getting up and heading to the bathroom, to clean the mess he made.
toji gives a small mischievous laugh “I ain't giving you a rest today, woman. ya can't escape me.” you let a low scream as you laugh when you see him running in your direction, ready to scoop you in his strong arms, planning in his head the restless evening his about to start.
I'll be There
>pairing —seo changbin x trans!male reader >genre — fluff, a bit angsty >summary — When you're overwhelmed by the return of your period and feelings of dysphoria, Changbin steps in with quiet care and love, proving that even in the hardest moments you're never alone. >word count — 3,7k >a/n: idk how this happened i was planning on writing something short and fluffy but yeah, anyway... I hope you like it! This is my first time posting in a long while but luckily i'm on my winter break, so i'll catch up with reqs! thank you so much for your patience and support xoxo >warnings: dysphoria, menstrual themes.
“Alright, sounds good. How about next week? If I remember correctly, we have to record the dance practice for the title track.” Chan says and immediately looks at everyone’s reactions.
You all are practicing for the upcoming comeback, recording videos for promotion, practicing nonstop the different choreographies, attending meetings, recording some songs, practicing again, recording many more things for different platforms and doing many other interviews. It is exhausting, sometimes, but you all think it is worth it when seeing the results of your hard work.
“Yeah, next week seems fine.” Hyunjin agrees out loud meanwhile the rest of you just nod and stand up as today’s practice has finished. “I guess we could go live after recording the practice, and tease a bit about the comeback.”
Chan gives a few last indications and stays a bit talking to the staff while you start collecting your stuff and getting ready to go back to the dorm. It’s late, and you still need to get up early for tomorrow’s activities. As you walk back to the lockers you let out a deep sigh; your head has been hurting a lot and you could only owe it to the sleepless nights and continuous work. Changbin's eyes flicker to you as you try to gather your stuff, clearly in discomfort but not saying anything. He knows you better than anyone, especially after the months you've been together, but there’s still a certain sense of care and sensitivity he approaches your health with.
“Hey,” He murmurs softly as he grabs your bag before you could even touch it. “Are you okay?” Changbin asks, snapping you out of your thoughts.
You nod and give him a weak smile. “Yeah, just a little worn out. I’ll be fine.”
He doesn’t buy it, not for a second. He knows you enough to tell you were feeling bad; he has noticed how in this whole time in the practice room you didn’t say a word, only when you were asked to. The groans you let out as a sign of tiredness and discomfort wasn’t something he overlooked. “You sure? You’re still not looking like yourself. Do you want me to get you something?”
Before you can respond, he walks ahead of you, his phone already out. You’re not sure who he’s messaging, but by the time you walk out of the room, he’s holding some painkillers and a water bottle in his hands. “Here, love. Take this and let’s get you something to eat, alright? I’m making dinner tonight.”
You look up at Changbin, a bit surprised but mostly grateful. He’s always been the thoughtful one, noticing the smallest details when you’re not feeling your best. The thought of dinner sounds comforting, but you’re not sure if you have the energy to eat.
“I don’t know, I’m really not feeling great,” you mutter, rubbing your temples as the headache intensifies.
He shakes his head with that soft, concerned smile of his. "That’s exactly why you need to eat. And no arguing with me. You know I can’t let you starve, especially when you're like this."
You let out a tired laugh. "You’re really spoiling me, aren’t you?"
He winks, his grin widening. "Someone has to take care of you, especially when you're too stubborn to do it yourself."
You smile at him, feeling a little lighter, and let him lead you out of the building into the car waiting for you, his arm gently guiding you along. As all of you make your way back to the dorm, Jeongin, Minho and Felix are engaging in an interesting debate about which one is the best Pokémon, Hyunjin seems to be focused on something on his phone and Seungmin, Han and Chan are discussing details of their agenda. But Changbin keeps glancing over at you, his eyes filled with concern, making sure you're comfortable. You find it endearing, the way he always looks after you, even in the smallest of ways.
When you finally get back to the dorm, the first thing Changbin does is usher you to the couch, throwing a blanket over your shoulders before even thinking about starting dinner. You sink into the cushions, letting the comfort of the blanket wrap around you as you watch him bustle around the kitchen. He’s surprisingly good at cooking, something you learned early on in your relationship, and you can't help but admire the way he moves so effortlessly, his focus entirely on making sure you're okay.
"Sit back, relax. I’ve got it from here," he says, glancing over his shoulder with a teasing grin. "I’m the chef tonight."
Everyone seemed to catch up on you feeling a bit down so they do their best on not making too much noise and check up on you constantly. Felix has put on your favorite movie and Jeongin prepared you a warm bath; which you truly appreciated.
You were nearly sleeping on the couch as the warm water made you feel more tired, but Changbin finished cooking quickly with the help of Minho as well. You all gather at the table and try not to discuss work themes; everyone seemed to be tired of it as well, so a new rule you all agreed on was not to bring those matters to the dorm; just try to relax and catch a break from all the stress it implied.
“I’ll wash the dishes tonight, everyone just go to sleep.” Chan murmurs and everyone thanks him with a smile. You smile and stand up, rushing to your bedroom and hurrying to prepare for sleep.
Changbin walks in a few minutes later, still with a look of concern on his face. You exit the bathroom and yawn.
“How are you feeling now?” He asks as he starts to get ready too. You just get in bed and sigh.
You close your eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. Your head still hurts, but it’s not as intense as before, and the comfort of your bed helps ease the tension in your muscles.
"I’m okay now, I think," you reply, your voice softer than usual. “The bath really helped... and dinner was perfect, as always, so thank you. I feel... I don’t know, just a little less heavy.”
Changbin walks over to the bed, his expression softening even more as he sits next to you. He brushes a strand of hair away from your face, his touch gentle and caring.
You chuckle softly, closing your eyes for a moment. As much as you love seeing him take care of you, you can’t help but feel a little guilty. He deserves the same care and attention, but you’ve been too caught up in your own exhaustion to give him the same.
"I’m sorry for being such a mess lately," you murmur, barely audible.
Changbin stops mid-motion, "You’re not a mess. You're allowed to be tired, and you're allowed to ask for help when you need it. I’m here for all of it, alright? Just… don’t shut me out."
You look up at him, his eyes so full of understanding, and you feel your chest tighten with appreciation. He doesn’t want anything in return; he just wants to be there for you, in whatever way you need.
“I love you so much,” you whisper, your voice a little shaky.
He smiles softly, leaning in to kiss your forehead. “I love you more, and I’ll always be here. You don’t have to thank me. Just… focus on getting better, okay?"
You nod, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. Maybe you were running on empty, but with Changbin by your side, you knew you could face anything. Even the toughest days would feel a little easier with him there to support you.
Truth is, Changbin has been a gift sent from heaven. It was so easy for you two to connect, to develop something greater than a friendship; it was so natural, so meant to happen. You loved every single one of your friends, you even considered them your family; but with Changbin you just knew you were meant to be together as something more. He often liked to say you were like an extension of himself, of his soul.
At the beginning you were just a mess of nerves and fear. You were confident in your identity and being, it was the people’s reaction what made you feel worried. The thought of being misunderstood, judged, or treated differently because of who you were felt like a heavy weight on your chest. But over time, you learned to trust yourself more, to lean into your confidence, even when doubt crept in.
What made it all bearable, though, was finding the right people to stick by your side, people who saw you for who you truly were. Changbin was one of them. He never once faltered in his support. From the very beginning, when you had confided in him about your fears and insecurities, he was unwavering in his care and understanding. He made sure you always knew that your identity, your truth, was something beautiful in his eyes. He never made you feel like a burden, never pushed you to change, just accepted you fully, as you were.
You’d been together for a while now, but it wasn’t something you could just throw out to the fans. Being a part of Stray Kids has always been an exciting, rewarding journey, but it also came with its own challenges, especially in the industry you’re in, where image and expectations are everything. Things are fine as they are now; calm, private, and under control.
“I’m really lucky, aren’t I?” you murmur softly, nestling deeper into Changbin’s embrace.
He tightens his hold on you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “No,” he replies, his voice filled with warmth. “I’m the lucky one.”
You smile, feeling the warmth of his words settle in your chest. It’s a quiet moment, but in it, you feel like everything is right.
"Yeah," you whisper, your eyes fluttering closed, "we're both lucky."
He hums softly in agreement, his thumb gently brushing against your arm as the two of you drift into a peaceful sleep.
——————————————————————————————————
The next week rolls around, and practice is as intense as ever. The comeback is just around the corner, and everyone is pushing hard to perfect every move and note. You’ve been working non-stop, barely catching a break, and the exhaustion is starting to take its toll. The symptoms had been there all week, the fatigue, headaches, cramps, but you convinced yourself it was just the stress of all the rehearsals, meetings, and promotions. After all, you’ve been on testosterone for months, and your periods had been absent, so you didn’t expect to deal with them again. But as the day goes on, the cramps intensify, and that’s when it hits you: Oh no. You’re getting your period.
You try to push through, focusing on the choreography and not letting yourself get distracted, but the pain becomes unbearable. You’re still moving, but it’s sluggish, like your body isn’t responding the way it should. Your stomach twists with each step, the cramps growing sharper, and you can feel your face flush. This isn’t just from stress, you think. It’s the real deal.
You’re about to say something when Changbin notices first. He’s always been quick to read your expressions, and today is no different. He pauses mid-step, his eyes catching yours, and something in his expression shifts. There’s a sudden concern there that makes you freeze. He knows.
"Hey," he murmurs, stepping closer, his hand resting gently on your shoulder. "Are you okay? You don’t look so good."
You try to force a smile, but it feels weak. “I’m fine. Just tired, but I’ll catch up, honestly. I’ll be alright.”
Changbin sighs. His eyes flicker over you again, noticing the way you’re holding your stomach and the tightness in your posture. “You’re sweating, and you’re holding your stomach. It’s more than just being tired, isn’t it?”
You let out a shaky breath, trying to ignore the building anxiety in your chest. “I think I’m about to start my period…” you say in a quiet voice, almost embarrassed to admit it. You don’t want to make a scene, especially not in front of the team, but it’s hard to ignore the truth. You had thought the testosterone would stop your periods for good, and now, to have them come back so unexpectedly, it’s a shock. A panic starts to rise in your chest.
Changbin’s face softens, and he immediately takes a step closer, his expression filled with concern. “Hey, it’s okay. Don’t stress about it. We’ll figure it out.”
But you can’t help the worry that settles in your gut. You hadn’t expected this, and now it feels like everything’s coming undone. What if something’s wrong? What if I’m not supposed to have this anymore?
Before you can spiral into those thoughts, Changbin is already taking charge. He walks over to Chan and the staff, speaking to them in quiet tones. You can hear a few words exchanged, but the conversation feels distant as the pain continues to rise. You want to push through, to keep going, but the cramps are unbearable. You can barely stand up straight, and your body feels like it’s shutting down.
When Changbin comes back, he kneels down in front of you, his hand resting gently on your knee. “They’re good with everything. You don’t need to worry about the live or rehearsal for now. We’ll handle it.”
You open your mouth to protest, but the words get stuck in your throat. The thought of letting everyone down, especially when they’ve been counting on you, makes your chest tighten. You swallow hard, the weight of it all starting to sink in. “I feel like I’m failing, though. Everyone’s expecting me to be there, and I can’t even keep it together.”
Changbin takes your hand in his, squeezing it gently. “You’re not failing. Taking care of yourself doesn’t make you weak. You’ve been working so hard, and you’ve got us. We’ve got your back, okay?”
His words ease the tightness in your chest, but the anxiety is still there, lingering in the back of your mind. You don’t want to feel like a burden, especially not to Changbin. But his reassuring smile and calm presence give you the comfort you need to let go of some of that fear.
He stands up, brushing a hand through your hair before looking down at you with a soft expression. “I’ll make sure everything’s taken care of. Let’s get you home, alright?”
As Changbin helps you out of the practice room and toward the car waiting to take you home, the guilt starts creeping in again. You’re quiet for most of the ride, staring out of the window, your mind racing. Why now? Why did this have to happen now of all times? What if the guys are mad at me? What if this keeps happening? What if something’s wrong with my body?
Changbin doesn’t press you to talk, though. He keeps his hand resting on yours, his thumb tracing calming circles over your knuckles. Every now and then, he glances over, but he knows you need the space to work through your thoughts, even if they’re running wild.
When you finally get back to the dorm, the silence feels heavier. As soon as the door closes behind you, it’s like the emotions you’ve been holding back all day come flooding in. You drop your bag to the floor, your shoulders shaking as tears start to spill. You’re angry at your body for betraying you, frustrated with yourself for not noticing the symptoms sooner, and overwhelmed by the thought of not being there for the team.
Changbin is by your side in an instant, gently pulling you into his arms. “Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he murmurs, his voice soft and grounding. “You’re okay. Just let it out.”
“I’m sorry,” you choke out, clinging to him. “I didn’t mean to-- this wasn’t supposed to happen, Binnie. I thought I was done with this. What if it doesn’t stop? What if something’s wrong with me? And now I’m missing practice and the live, and everyone’s going to think I’m slacking or--”
“Stop,” he cuts in gently but firmly, pulling back just enough to cup your face in his hands. His eyes meet yours, steady and full of reassurance. “None of that is true. You’re not slacking, and you’re not failing. Your body’s doing something unexpected, yeah, but it doesn’t mean anything’s wrong with you. It’s just a part of the process, okay? You’re doing your best, and that’s all anyone can ask for.”
His words break through the storm in your head just enough to make you pause, but the tears keep coming. You bury your face in his chest, letting yourself cry as he holds you tightly.
Meanwhile, back at the studio, the rest of the group has gone live. They’re chatting with fans, teasing the comeback, and answering questions, but your absence hasn’t gone unnoticed.
Where’s ______?, one fan asks in the chat, echoed by several others, as well asking for Changbin.
Chan steps in smoothly, his tone light but comforting. “Ah, ____ wasn’t feeling well today, so he’s resting. Don’t worry, he’ll be back soon! We’re taking good care of him. Changbinnie is making sure he is doing fine.”
The chat floods with messages of support and concern, and the members take turns reassuring the fans, making sure the focus stays positive. Changbin had already briefed them before he left, and you know they’ve got your back. But that doesn’t stop the guilt from gnawing at you as you picture them carrying on without you.
“See?” Changbin whispers as he rubs soothing circles on your back, as if he can sense your spiraling thoughts. “They’re all handling it just fine. No one’s upset, and the fans are being super supportive. You’re not letting anyone down, love. You’re just human.”
You sniffle, wiping at your face as you pull back slightly to look at him. “I just hate feeling like I’m not doing enough. And this stupid period is making me feel worse.”
“You’re doing more than enough,” he insists, brushing a tear off your cheek with his thumb. “You push yourself so hard every day, and it’s okay to take a step back when you need to. That doesn’t make you any less important to the team, or to me.”
You sigh and feel more tears streaming down your face. A silence fills the room for a moment as you collect your thoughts. Changbin clears the traces. “What else are you thinking of?”
“I feel… so out of place,” you whisper, voice cracking. “It’s like my own body is against me. I thought I was past this. I’ve been on T for years, and I’ve been doing everything right, but it still comes back, Binnie. I feel like I’m back at square one, like I’m not even–”
“Hey,” he interrupts softly but firmly, wrapping his arms around you tighter. “Don’t say that. You’re exactly who you’re meant to be. None of this changes that, not even for a second.”
“But it feels like it does,” you cry, voice trembling. “It feels like no matter what I do, I’m stuck in a body that doesn’t feel like mine. And now this, on top of everything else– I just feel so overwhelmed, like I can’t catch a break.”
Changbin takes a deep breath, holding you close as he thinks carefully about what to say. “I can’t pretend to fully understand how this feels for you,” he starts quietly. “But I do know that it doesn’t make you any less of the amazing, strong person that you are. You’ve been through so much, and you’ve come so far. One bad day, or even a bad week, doesn’t undo all of that.”
His words don’t fix everything, but they cut through the noise in your head just enough to ground you. You grip his arm tightly, feeling the steady rise and fall of his breathing, and it helps pull you back to the present.
“It just feels so unfair,” you murmur after a moment. “I’m so tired of this fight.”
“I know, love,” he whispers, resting his chin on top of your head. “I hate that you have to go through this, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here for you, always. Whatever you need; space, comfort, distraction, I’ll do it. You just have to tell me.”
You let out a shaky breath, your body slowly relaxing into his. “I don’t even know what I need right now,” you admit.
“That’s okay,” he says gently, his hand moving to rub soothing circles on your back. “We’ll figure it out together. For now, just focus on breathing, okay? One thing at a time.”
He shifts slightly, grabbing the blanket he’d brought over earlier and wrapping it snugly around both of you. “You’re not alone in this. And this doesn’t change how I see you or how much I care about you. You’re still you, always.”
The sincerity in his voice breaks through some of the tension in your chest. You rest your head against his shoulder, closing your eyes as you focus on the sound of his heartbeat. Slowly, the overwhelming tide of emotions starts to ebb, replaced by a small flicker of comfort. Changbin doesn’t rush you or try to push you to move on from how you’re feeling. He just stays there, holding you, letting you take the time you need.
His words hit you right in the chest, and for the first time all day, you feel a little less alone.You let out a shaky breath, leaning into him again as you whisper, “Thank you, Binnie.”
He presses a kiss to the top of your head, his arms still wrapped securely around you. “Always,” he replies softly. “Now, how about we get you into some comfy clothes and set up a little movie night? Just you and me.”
The thought of curling up on the couch with him, away from all the stress and expectations, sounds like exactly what you need. You nod, finally letting yourself relax a little, knowing that for now, it’s okay to let someone else take care of you.
The warm sunlight poured in through the windows, casting a gentle glow over you and Vanessa as you snuggled in your shared bed. Your bodies were entwined beneath the soft covers, and as the light stirred you awake, you nuzzled your face into Vanessa's chest. She responded by pulling you closer and resting her head on top of yours. Just as you were about to drift back to sleep, a loud noise jolted you both awake. With puzzled expressions, you sat up and looked at the bedside table where the noise was coming from.
"Did you forget to turn off your alarm?" you asked, watching as Vanessa reached over to turn it off.
"I must have," she groaned, hitting the alarm button to silence it.
You got out of bed, ready to start your day. Vanessa watched as you gathered a towel, one of her oversized shirts, and some comfortable clothing before she spoke up.
"Where are you going?" she asked, still sounding sleepy.
"I'm going to freshen up, I feel like I've bled all over the sheets," you replied, your voice slightly hoarse from just waking up.
Vanessa hummed in response, rearranging the sheets you had been lying on. She looked up at you with a concerned expression.
"There's no blood, my love," she reassured you, causing you to smile at her thoughtfulness.
"Still, I think it would be best if I shower now," you said with a hint of amusement. Vanessa moved to sit on your side of the bed and reached out for you to come closer.
"Please, can you stay in bed a little longer? If you happen to bleed, I'll clean it up," she pleaded, her voice still muffled from burying her face in your stomach.
"I don't want to get up right now," she whined, and you couldn't help but giggle at her adorable pout.
"It's already 12 pm, love. We've already missed half the day," you reminded her, causing her to groan.
"So what? We've worked hard all week, we deserve these few days off," she argued, crossing her arms and looking at you with a defeated expression.
"That's true," you agreed with a soft smile. You took a step back, causing her to let go of you, and she pouted even more.
"But you know what else is fun to do when we're both on our monthly cycle?" you asked, a mischievous glint in your eye.
"What?" Vanessa grunted, her arms still crossed.
"Taking a shower and baking a cake with the person you love most," you said, watching as her eyes widened in surprise.
"But if you'd rather stay in bed all day, that's fine too," you added with a shrug, before turning and walking towards the bathroom. You could hear Vanessa rustling around in the bedroom before she ran after you with a cheeky smile.
"I thought you wanted to sleep in," you teased, looking at her playfully as you took off your shirt.
"I wanted to sleep in with you. Plus, I don't want to leave you alone while you shower," she said, giving you a kiss on the cheek before undressing alongside you.
"Oh totally," you replied with a laugh, turning on the water in the shower.
"Okay, so now we need four room-temperature eggs that have been separated," Vanessa calls out to you as you grab the eggs from the counter and a bowl.
"Wait, separated? Do you mean in different bowls?" you ask, looking at the eggs and the one bowl you had taken out.
Vanessa laughs and you look up at her, confused. She shakes her head with a smile and puts down the baking book she was reading from before moving to stand behind you.
"No, my love, separatied means separating the yolk from the egg whites. Can you hand me an egg?" she playfully whispers in your ear.
You hand her an egg and she stands next to you, cracking it against the counter and separating the yolk from the egg white by passing it between the two shells until only the yolk remains.
"See? It's not that difficult," she says with a smile, breaking you from your trance. You return the smile and say, "Yeah, I've got this."
As you continue to separate the eggs and put them in the bowl, Vanessa moves around the kitchen, preparing the other ingredients.
"Done!" you exclaim, looking at Vanessa. She curses under her breath and you drop the empty egg shells in shock. Vanessa had accidentally dropped the flour on her head while reaching for it on the top shelf. You cover your mouth to stifle the laugh that wants to escape as you watch her.
"Baby, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. I was just excited to do this right and-" Before you can finish apologizing, Vanessa throws the rest of the flour on you, causing you to gasp in surprise. You stand in shock as she laughs.
"Nessa! What the hell?" you exclaim, surprised. Vanessa continues to laugh as you grab one of the egg yolks from the counter and smear it on her face. She stops laughing as you rub the yolk on her face, then wipes it away to look at you with a playful glare.
"Now you're in trouble," she says, grabbing the rest of the yolks and smushing them on your face. You groan and wipe the yolk off, spitting out any that got into your mouth.
Vanessa continues to laugh as you complain about the yolk in your mouth. She runs to get towels and two glasses of water before returning and handing you a towel. You wipe your face and apologize for laughing, then pick up one of the glasses of water and pour it on Vanessa's head, causing her to gasp and close her eyes.
"Y/n!" she shouts, and you laugh as you run away. Vanessa wipes her face with her sleeve before chasing after you and tackling you onto the couch.
"Hey, stop! You're going to get the couch wet and dirty," you say, laughing as she tickles you. Vanessa finally stops and walks away for a moment, giving you time to catch your breath. But before you can, she comes back with the other glass of water. You try to protest, but she throws the water on you before you can finish. You groan as she giggles and says, "Now we're even."
"Let's go finish this cake," Vanessa says, laughing as she walks back to the kitchen. You call out that you'll get her back and fall back onto the now-wet couch, not caring if it gets any dirtier.
❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥❥
You lay snuggled up against Vanessa on the couch as an old romance show played on the television. She had her arms wrapped around you as you picked at the remnants of cake on your plate, gazing absentmindedly at the TV. Vanessa's lips snapped you out of your daydream as she planted a soft kiss on your head, causing you to smile and look up at her.
"Hi," you say with a smile, and she smiles back before nodding towards the plate in your hand.
"Are you going to finish that?" she asks, and you look down at the plate before shaking your head and playing with the plastic fork.
"Nah, do you want the last bite?" you offer, looking back up at her. She nods eagerly, and you hand her the plate.
"Can you feed it to me, though?" she asks with a mischievous glint in her eye. You raise an eyebrow, wondering what she's up to, but ultimately nod and move to straddle her. As you hand her the fork, she grabs your leg and pulls it over her waist, holding onto your waist as you lean down to feed her the last bite of cake.
"This is extra, you could have just taken the plate from me," you comment, slightly annoyed but unable to hide your smile.
"I know, but you look cute when you're flustered," Vanessa teases, smirking up at you. You playfully roll your eyes before planting a quick kiss on her lips.
"Let's go shower now," you say, trying to get up, but Vanessa's grip on your waist tightens.
"One more kiss," she pleads, and you sigh, knowing she won't let you go until you comply. You give her a tight-lipped smile before leaning down to give her another quick kiss, but she surprises you by deepening the kiss, her tongue exploring your mouth. You moan against her lips as you taste the cake on her tongue.
As the kiss intensifies, you feel Vanessa's hand move from the back of your head to rest on your cheek, and she breaks the kiss, her thumb lightly tracing your bottom lip. You catch your breath, looking down at her with a dazed expression.
"Do you still want to shower?" she asks with a playful glint in her eye, and you shyly nod, hiding your face in the crook of her neck.
"But we should take one together to save water," you suggest, your voice muffled against her skin. Vanessa hums in agreement, her voice teasing as she replies, "Sure, just because you want to save water."
You can't help but smile against her neck as you lift your head to look at her with a mock serious expression.
"Vanessa, that's gross. We both have our periods," you say, feigning disgust at what she was suggesting. But Vanessa just shrugs, not fazed by your comment.
"So what?" she replies with a smirk, and you can't help but laugh at her nonchalant response.
May, 1962.
He tried his best to understand what he was looking at. The colours danced in a confusing symphony - deep red lines flashing across the canvas, yellow streaks breaking through the tainted blue background. It was an odd mix of serenity and unease, a puzzle that felt both ambiguous and crystal-clear. Not that he had any expertise in art, he was a superhero, after all. Analyzing abstract paintings was hardly part of the job description. Thank God and Vought for that. He didn't even know why he was there in the first place, stripped of his imposing suit, which at least gave him the semblance of authority. “This will do wonders for your image. Supporting some up-and-coming artists is exactly what we need to repair that reputation you seem so determined to destroy.”
“Yeah, fuck that.” he thought, scanning the room until his eyes landed on a tray of champagne glasses amidst the other hors d’oeuvres. At least there was free booze. He swiftly grabbed a glass, downed it in one go, and swapped it for another. He barely noticed the presence next to him when he stood back to pretend to interpret the same painting he had been looking at for the last fifteen minutes.
"Do you like it?" a voice with a soft British lilt called out from his right. He turned to see the source—a striking beauty with (Y/H/C) hair styled in a classic beehive. Her makeup was flawless, with bold eyeliner and red lipstick that enhanced her gorgeous features. The elegant black dress she wore hugged her curves in all the right places, and for a moment, he felt his already tight pants grow even more uncomfortable. "You’ve been staring at it for quite a while."
He quickly gathered himself, a charming smile sliding into place as he responded with feigned confidence.
"I do, yeah. I really like the... uh, colors and how... this line curves," he replied, trying his best to sound like he knew what he was talking about. “It… makes one feel uncertain and… and certain at the same time.”
“Does it?” she asks, her sceptical eyes glued to the canvas. "To me, it just brings back memories of a February night when I drowned my sorrows in a cheap bottle of rum after finding out I didn’t get into RCA."
His brows furrowed as he looked at the girl next to her taking a sip of her champagne. “You painted this?” he asked. She just nodded in response, her eyes still fixed on the framed painting. “Busted” she chuckled awkwardly. He looked back at the artwork once more and it suddenly all made sense. It was a testament of chaos, the rage and unsettle she must have felt when creating it. Plus, being drunk while creating something? That, he could understand. “I’m (Y/N)... (Y/L/N). But I believe you figured that out.” she said as she nodded to the signed painting.
He smiled and nodded. “Benjamin,” came the reply. “But please, just call me Ben.”
She nodded and smiled at him. “So, Ben… What brings you to London?”
“I'm here for work.” he replied casually. It wasn't a complete lie, per se. He could tell the truth, she will learn it soon anyway. But for now, he just wanted a normal conversation, free from the weight of being America’s Greatest Hero. Just for a couple of minutes.
“I see” she said as she eyed him with great attention to every detail of his appearance. His dirty blonde hair was slicked back with a sophisticated touch, and his tailored suit and slacks fit him impeccably. "Are you some kind of actor?" she asked finally.
“Among other things.” his tone playful, reflecting on the fact that he enjoyed her not recognizing him. “Why?”
"I was just wondering," she shrugged, finishing the last sip of her drink. "When I first saw you, I thought, ‘He’s either a soldier, a businessman, or an actor.’ Your physique suggests military, but then I took a closer look at your suit, and– may I?" she asked, lifting her hand toward his jacket. With a nod, she touched the fabric. "As I suspected. Kid mohair. No soldier I know could afford that. So, that left businessman or actor. Now, here comes my first observation: your athletic build. If you were an accountant or something like that, you probably wouldn’t be this fit. So, my conclusion? You’re an actor." She smiled, clearly pleased with her deductive reasoning.
He chuckled, clearly amused by her careful observation. “You are quite the observer, aren’t you, sweetheart?” he asked.
That she was. Her favourite hobby was studying people. Every little feature, every line and detail that made them unique. Later, she would capture those fascinating subjects in drawings from memory. Any details that became hazy would be filled in by her imagination. She did the same to him; just memorising his lines (though the nickname almost made the whole process cease).
“So this whole happening… is it all for you?”
She just scoffed. “They say it is” she started, though her face was soaked with clear annoyance. “But I believe it’s more for my agent. He said he found great patrons for this current collection. They want me to go overseas for a potential business proposition.”
At the mention of that, Ben's eyes gleamed with a mischievous spark. The Vought executives had briefed him on their plans to renovate the entire Tower. Stronger foundations, new levels, and, of course, fresh furnishings and decor. That was the real reason he was here in the first place. For whatever reason, Vought wanted (Y/N)'s artwork to grace the Tower's walls. He’d flown in with some executives to evaluate her latest collection, to decide whether it was worth the investment. It wasn’t his decision, of course; he had no real say in the final call. But to the public, he was the face of Vought, their most powerful representative, so his presence was required by his superiors.
“Miss (Y/L/N), it is time” the aforementioned agent’s voice cut through their conversation. She took a deep breath before turning to face the charming looking man in his early thirties.
“I’ll be there in a minute, Greg.”
Greg then nodded and smiled at the two. “I see you met one of your patrons already.” he said as he nodded towards Ben. “It’s an honour to have you here, Soldier Boy. I hope you enjoy your time in our country.”
Ben nodded, a smug grin spreading across his face as he kept his gaze locked on (Y/N), who now wore an expression of stunned realisation. She had only just realised who she had been casually conversing with. “I’m enjoying it so far, very much,” he replied, his voice dripping with satisfaction.
“Alright, Miss (Y/L/N), please say goodbye to the gentleman and follow me.” Greg interjected, his tone formal and clipped, as if he were conducting some high-stakes business transaction.
She swallowed the urge to roll her eyes at the mannerism of the whole conversation. That was one of the many things she hated about the art society she was part of. The pretentious idiosyncrasy and the sense of being loftier than the others. If she had the resources to fund her own artistry, she would leave it all behind. But unlike her peers, who all came from money, she wasn’t that fortunate. Her parents, God bless them, did everything they could to support her, but it was never enough for her to break free. Now, under the thumb of Greg—THE Gregory Alcons, the most influential artist agent in the region—she had little choice but to play along.
Still a bit flabbergasted by the previous revelations of Ben’s identity, she managed to compose herself and glanced at his green orbs. “It was nice meeting you, Soldier Boy. I hope to see you around,” she said, her voice steadier than she felt.
As she turned to follow Greg, Ben couldn’t tear his eyes away from the way her hips swayed in that sinfully tight black dress. If he didn’t know better, he might just think it was all for him.
(Y/N)’s speech was a drag. Even she knew that. Every word was scripted, every pause rehearsed, her smile a mask. Like a goddamn politician–she often thought to herself. Nonetheless, her official duties of the gathering still didn’t end, but she could now move around more freely, trying to charm the people gathered in the museum, occasionally sipping on champagne to look for that blitzed state she was so eager to reach. She just wished she had something stronger. During her museum circles, she heard some speeches that she couldn't care less about. Mostly influential old hags talking nonsense about the importance of art patronage and trusting the vision of an artist... She also heard Soldier Boy's brief speech, but she was too occupied to talk to the other guests, she couldn't stop and listen to it.
The smooth jazz tunes created an atmospheric scene, adding to the illusion of sophistication. The guests seemed to be amazed by it all–the champagne, the music, the elegant attires, the modest speeches… yet, she couldn’t care less. This wasn’t her world. It was all a grand performance, and she felt like an imposter in the spotlight of her own art exhibition. She was chatting with a man in his early to mid-seventies about the long-term consequences of giving freedom riders a platform to talk when a familiar rumble cut though the conversation.
“Can I borrow Miss (Y/L/N) for a minute?”
Relief washed over her as she turned to see Ben—no, Soldier Boy—in his full supe attire, helmet and all (he certainly just finished his speech duties, too). If she had to pretend to share one more of the old man’s bigoted views, she might have committed murder. Soldier Boy was by far her greatest conversation partner tonight, and probably the most tolerable person in the room, which speaks for how entertaining the gathering is. The elderly man tried to hide his disappointment, but reluctantly let her go.
“Wow,” she muttered, taking in Soldier Boy’s imposing presence. “Now, this is the Soldier Boy I’ve seen in the telly.” Her voice dropped to a sheepish tone. “And… sorry for not recognising you earlier.”
“Can’t say it didn’t hurt,” he replied with a smirk “But it’s also nice knowing that it’s the suit that most people recognize, not my face.”
(Y/N) offered Soldier Boy another small, apologetic smile before letting her eyes drift across the room. The jazz band was playing a smooth set that impressed the crowd but grated on her nerves. The soft melodies and gentle horns just didn’t resonate with her. If she had her way, she’d have had her friends, Gerry & The Pacemakers, play instead—something with real energy, something raw. But, of course, that wouldn’t have flown with Greg or the rest of the stuffy art crowd. They were too wrapped up in their own pretentiousness to appreciate anything that didn’t fit their narrow idea of ‘classy’.
She took another sip of champagne, but it did little to ease her frustration. She felt trapped, stuck in a night that was supposed to be hers but felt like anything but. All she really wanted was to be with real people, having real conversations, and listening to music that made her feel alive. Instead, she was here, pretending to enjoy the company of people who saw her as nothing more than a name to drop at their next social event.
“You’re not exactly enjoying this, are you?” Soldier Boy’s voice cut through her thoughts, bringing her back to reality. His tone was amused, but there was a hint of genuine curiosity there too.
She looked up at him, surprised he noticed. “Is it that obvious?” she asked with a slight smile.
“To most people here? Probably not. But I can tell,” he said with a shrug. “You’re too real for this crowd.” He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a low murmur. “How about we get out of here?”
(Y/N) hesitated, glancing around the room filled with guests who were supposed to be admiring her work. “I wish I could go somewhere more fun. But this is my show. Not mine mine, obviously, but I can't just disappear,” she said, sighing. “Plus, Greg would kill me if I bailed.”
Soldier Boy smirked, undeterred. “I’m not saying ditch the whole thing, just take a break. Clear your head, get away from all this for a few minutes.” He paused, lowering his voice. “You deserve that much, don’t you?”
She bit her lip, tempted by the offer. The idea of stepping away, even just for a little while, was more appealing than she wanted to admit. Especially with such a handsome-looking bastard. “And where exactly would we go?” she asked, intrigued.
His smile widened, a mix of charm and mischief. “Trust me,” he said, offering his arm. “You’ll like it better than this place.”
She would lie if she said she didn’t see this coming. She was more than a bit tipsy, but who is she to fool? She would’ve followed Ben to the staff restroom sober, without any question. She needed to release some tension, and he was more than happy to oblige. His calloused thumb was drawing invisible circles on her swollen clit as his cock pounded in and out of her juicy, tight hole.
“Fuck, sweetheart–” he growled into her ears as his other hand was leaning on the counter, trapping her body between the cold surface and his heated body. It was all quick, filthy, but –oh so needed. Her watery eyes were locked on his reflection in the mirror as she observed both his ecstasy-filled pupils and her rather dishevelled appearance. Either of her boobs were bouncing with each harsh thrust of his hips, stark contrast to that tight black dress that still clung to the rest of her body.
How they ended up like this was both a blur and a logical consequence of their desire. One moment they were talking, and the next, they were stumbling into the restroom, hands all over each other. Soldier Boy’s strong body pressed her back against the door, his lips crashing against hers with a fierce hunger. She didn’t hold back, kissing him with just as much intensity. She melted into his lips and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him coser. She gasped softly as his tongue swiped against her lower lip, asking for entrance. She granted it, his tongue slipping past her plush lips and exploring her mouth while her hands were busy finding a way to rip off his tactical vest. Fuck, why does a supe suit has to be so complicated?
He soon noticed her efforts to undress him, so he leaned back for a moment with that same smug grin he always seemed to wear, and began to take his suit off. She hurried to do the same when Ben’s voice commanded her to stay put. “That dress stays.” he said, his voice low and sultry. “Couldn’t tear my eyes off of you, you know that? Wearing a dress so fuckin’ tight… swaying your hips like you did… was it all just to drive me crazy, huh?” he asked as he got rid of her suit, now standing in front of her in his naked glory.
She swallowed hard once his member sprang free–erected, the fat tip leaking with pre-cum. She obliged to his requests by rolling the skirt of the dress up to her perky butt. With delight, he discovered that she was wearing black panties with delicate lace trimming, which was overall already ruined by her soaked cunt. He growled at the sight, grabbing the base of his cock to pump himself a couple of times. She was about to pull her panties down, when he spoke up again. “Those also stay.”
“You are having many commands just for a little hookup” she remarked as she leaned her body closer to his, her palms replacing his on his shaft. Her hands were soft against his skin, his dick twitched by the touch. She pumped him a few times before stopping and releasing him completely. He let out an annoyed huff that quickly turned into a satisfied moan when he felt her hands once more around his cock, now coated with her saliva to add more to the pleasure and to prepare him to enter her already weeping pussy.
Soldier Boy swiftly gripped her hips and spun her around to face the sink and the mirror above it, returning them to the position they’d just been in. “You’re a real tease, aren’t you?” he growled, his voice thick with desire. She could feel the need in his tone, matching the flame that burned inside her. He lifted one of her legs, giving himself better access, and she braced herself against the counter, anticipation running through her veins. “You're so beautiful. A beautiful tease.” he kissed a line along her spine.
“Yeah…you are just as much of a—” before she could finish the sentence, she felt the tip nudge at her entrance after pulling her panties to the side. It was that moment she finally came to terms with how huge he was. Seeing it, palming it wasn’t enough. Feeling the head of his cock spreading her folds was a whole other sensation. Before he would properly enter, he asked. “You sure you want this?” She couldn’t help but moan, her mind completely taken over by anticipation. Not trusting her voice, she just nodded fervently and pressed herself against him more. That was all Soldier Boy needed. He took a shaky breath and eased himself into her dripping cunt. The only sound in the room was their mingled, sinful noises that escaped both their mouths.
“Fuck….so tight…so fuckin’ wet…” Ben growled as quietly as he could. They were still in that museum, just a few rooms away from the exhibition. As much as he wanted people to hear them, he knew she would probably prefer their affair to stay hidden.
He kept one hand on her hips, guiding her movements, while the other slid up her stomach, to her exposed breast, his fingers gently tracing over her sensitive nipple. The way it bounced at every thrust, every movement, and how the nipple hardened at his touch… Soldier Boy was known for his supe stamina, but he was already on the edge of coming undone. She was closely behind, her moans and gasps were music to his ears in a sinful symphony as she clenched her hands around the edge of the sink.
“Ben…please…”
“What? What do you need, honey?” he cooed.
“Please… h-harder.” it was more of an incoherent muffled cry than a plea. But he understood nonetheless. He ceased his speed, his hips clashing against hers in a relentless motion. He groaned, his body moving supernaturally fast, his grip on her hips almost bruising on her sensitive skin.
His mouth attacked her neck, finding her sweet spot, the one that seemingly made her go feral. He sucked and bit that one spot like a madman, being on the mission to elicit as many sounds from her as he could.
“Fuck…baby, youre gonna kill me.” he mumbled into her neck. He felt he was nearing his climax and he needed to make sure she was there with him. He redoubled his efforts, his body moving against hers in a rhythm that was both brutal and beautiful. “You are squeezing me so fuckin’ tight. Shit, I can feel your pretty little cunt trying to push me out.” he said and delivered a brutal thrust to the hilt, burying himself inside for a moment. “Fuuuuck.”he said as he stopped to feel her convulsing pussy. He could feel she was close too.
His voice, his words and the way his twitching cock was balls deep inside of her made her go feral. “Soldier Boy, I…please… I need to–” his fingers stopped their ministrations on her nipples and found their way to her sensitive bundle of nerves.
“What do you need, honey? Do you want to come? Do you want to soak this big, fat cock, huh?” he asked as he began to move again slowly, his gaze locked at hers in the mirror. Fuck, she looked even more phenomenal than at the grand hall. Her neatly made beehive now a bit more messy, her red lips were a bit smudged, her eyes hazy…Truly a sight to behold. When she didn't answer, he delivered a harsh slap onto her clit. “I asked you a question. Do you want to soak my dick, baby?” he asked and buried himself to the hilt once more, his own climax nearing the edge, too.
“Fu–Yes! Please, let me come on your cock, please, make me squirt all over you… please…” she urged, looking at his reflection.
Her words made her already aching shaft twitch deep inside of her, and with a throaty rumble he set a ruthless pace. His cock was laced with her wetness, the sight making Ben go ferocious. “I’m gonna come into this tight little pussy. I’m gonna pump my load into you. Fuck, come with me, baby, soak my dick.”
Their breath hitched almost at the same time. His fingers were still working their wonders around her clit. Her pussy almost pushed him out when she came, her cum gushing over his shaft. While he made sure to ride her orgasm out, she felt him spilling his seed deep into her hole, dribbling out from her down to his balls. His slowled his pace, but the strength didn’t cease, making sure he fucked his white hot cum back inside of her.
Once they both came down their highs, they found their eyes going back at their reflection. His satisfied grin, her spent expression, their mingled, joint bodies… Besides being absolutely filthy, there was something more behind that scenery…
After catching their breaths, Ben slipped out of her, quickly pulling her panties back to their place to hold up his cum. He saw her panties being soaked with his climax, which elicited a moan from him. “Now that’s a sight, darling.”
She just laughed breathlessly and rolled her skirt back down, putting her tit back into the confinement of that dress. “That was… just what I needed. Thank you.”
(Y/N) glanced at her reflection in the mirror, cheeks flushed, her breath still unsteady from the intensity of what had just happened. She watched as Soldier Boy straightened up and casually began putting his suit back on. There was something about his calmness, his complete lack of urgency, that made her heart race all over again. He caught her eye in the mirror and flashed that mischievous smirk she was starting to find dangerously attractive.
“M’just happy to help the artist out,” Ben shrugged, the smirk never leaving his face. His voice was playful, but his gaze was laced with something deeper, something that made her pulse quicken. As he fastened the last strap of his vest, he turned to her, an eyebrow raised in challenge. “Don’t you… wanna get out of here? For real?”
(Y/N) bit her lip, torn between the temptation of escape and the nagging responsibility of the exhibition. The thought of ditching this pretentious gathering for something—anything, really—more genuine was almost irresistible. But despite her wild child tendencies, she was still aware of her responsibilities. “Ben, I still have this exhibition,” she said, her voice softening. “I can’t just leave. Greg would have a heart attack if I walked out right now.”
Ben chuckled, stepping closer until he was just inches away. “And you care about that?” he asked, his tone low and teasing, but with a seriousness beneath it. “You really wanna stick around, playing nice with assholes who wouldn’t know real art if it smacked them in the face?”
She hesitated, knowing he was right. Everything about this night felt wrong, but she still felt trapped by the expectations that came with it. “It’s not that simple,” she murmured, almost to herself. “This is my career.”
He reached out, gently tipping her chin up so she had to look at him. “You’re not one of them, you know that,” he said, his voice firm but not unkind. “You don’t belong here, with these people who only care about what you can do for them. You deserve more than that. Plus, you’ve already got that deal with Vought. Why would you care about any other guests?”
His words hit her harder than she expected. He wasn’t just trying to lure her away for some fun; he was calling out what she had been trying to ignore all night. She sighed, feeling the weight of the evening press down on her again. “But where would we even go?” she asked, though the resistance in her voice was fading.
“Anywhere you want,” Ben replied, his eyes lighting up with the possibility. “Somewhere where you can breathe, where you don’t have to pretend.” He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. “You said you wanted fun tonight. Let’s go find it.”
She looked at him, really considering his offer this time. The idea of leaving it all behind, even just for a night, was more tempting than ever. She knew it was reckless, maybe even career suicide, but there was a part of her that didn’t care anymore. Not tonight. Tonight, she wanted to feel alive.
Slowly, she nodded. “Alright,” she said, her voice stronger now. “Let’s get out of here.”
Ben’s smirk widened, satisfied. “Atta girl,” he murmured, taking her hand in his. He pulled her toward the door, and as they slipped out of the restroom, a thrill shot through her. She was leaving behind everything that had been weighing her down all night, walking away from the people and the pretence, and into something unknown but undeniably exciting.
As they made their way through the back halls of the museum, she felt a strange sense of freedom. The further they got from the exhibition, the lighter she felt, like she was shedding a skin she’d outgrown long ago. She didn’t know where Ben was taking her, but for the first time in a long time, she didn’t care. She was done pretending.
And as for Soldier Boy... maybe coming to this exhibition wasn't such a bad idea after all.
Your boxer!wriothesley got me melting ><
I'm rambling but HEAR ME OUTT
with the reader and wriothesley enjoying their little talk, dad!neuvillette is watching the whole scene. And the sneaky bastard wriothesley is, he saw neuvillette looking at them. I imagine wriothelesley then randomly asks you to hang out with him in order to risen neuvilette's dad instincts, "say, are you free this Saturday?" praying for wriothesley rn.
Neuvillette would immediately change the pace of the scenery by entering it, "unfortunately, my daughter is busy during weekends due to some other incoming shipments for the gym, may I ask why you're asking her?" with a hint of authority and suspicious voice.
imagine reader silently praying for both to stop
omg YES the little dynamic between the three and i just know wrio will take every opportunity to tease!! also sorry it's taken me a bit to respond i've been a bit busy and also needed to gather my thoughts!
boxer!wrio who turns to neuvillette with that signature grin of his, not backing down even when your father towers over him. it's a tone he's used on wrio many a times, one laced with the undertone of a threat. a threat that the boxer purposefully ignores in favour of looking away from your father and turning to you to ask, "there's a new cafe that opened up just recently. care to grab a drink with me?"
"again, she's busy," neuvillette glares at wrio as you swat at your father's arm. you know your father means well, and you know that if he truly did think that wrio was trouble, he would have put his foot down immediately. but that doesn't mean wrio's constant teasing was helping his case. because boy does wrio seem to get an adrenaline rush when he pulls something in front of your father. the cocky grin on his face is evident of that as he looks between you and your father.
"i'm not!" both men turn to look at you, one with a clearly gleeful expression, the other with one that is darkening with each second. this is perhaps the boldest wrio has been, asking you out so shamelessly in front of your father. and poor neuvillette, left to his own defenses, doesn't know about the little "dates" you've snuck away to since wrio first asked you out.
boxer!wrio, who despite his almost frightening aura, turns out to be a big teddy bear behind his bandaged hands. past his cocky attitude is someone still a little unsure if he's doing all of this right, and you don't tell him that you've caught him staring at you multiple times while you're together, almost as if he's checking to make sure that he's doing this right. at the gym he throws punches with such force that its second nature to him. those easy going grins and flirtatious remarks are made with ease in the comforts of the gym, much to neuvillette's dismay. but on these little dates you find yourself at, watching as he fumbles over his words when he tries to be sly, or jumps at any opportunity to show off, you begin to learn more about him.
in a world of boys he's a gentleman, trying to impress you with the smallest of things from surprising you with mini bouquets of flowers or offering to go fill your water when you're working out alongside him at the gym. there's still some insecurity that lingers in his eyes when he sees you hesitate at times, but the moment you accept his offers with a little smile, that teasing attitude returns.
it doesn't stop at the dates he takes you on. in the gym, he seems to grow bolder with each day and wrio's lingering touches and efforts to bend down to whisper something to you make neuvillette's eyes twitch, his voice and tone growing ever so slightly louder and more aggressive.
"wriothesley." the boxer snaps to attention when your father's voice cuts through the gym. he winks at you cheekily before answering the call of his name, leaving you either with warm cheeks and an effort to hide the growing smile on your face or a classic roll of the eyes.
and poor neuvillette bears witness to wrio's shameless flirting. some of the regulars pat him on the back, commenting on "young love" and "your daughter's found a good man." and while neuvillette may agree, not that he'd say that to you, that doesn't stop the scowl that spreads across his face when he hears wrio's flirtatious comments.
neuvillette's attempts to "prevent" you from going on these dates, he has a feeling you've been on more than you say you have, are half-hearted. he can attest to being a protective father, but he's well aware of your own capabilities. as long as wrio knows that the moment he does something stupid, neuvillette will rain down all hell on the boxer.
naturally, wrio knows his boundaries and he'll back off the moment he senses discomfort but for now, when you're choosing to indulge in his cheeky attitude, he just can't help it. it's just so easy to poke fun at you and see how far he can go without being literally tossed out by your father.
boxer!wrio, who knows he's playing the long game, but he'll wait. he has plenty of patience and more than enough confidence to know that sooner or later, he'll win you over with his charms. hopefully sooner than later.
reblogs and comments are greatly appreciated! <3
can i get a g!p dom mean girl wony plsplsplspls
dom!wonyoung x fem!reader
w: mean!gp!wonyong, unprotected sex, wonyoung calls reader slut.
sorry for the long wait and sorry for any mistake 🤬
you know how wonyoung was always on the spotlight by her attitude? getting called out as disrespectful, selfish, egocentric... well, what if i tell you that she actually is? but apparently, only to you. she has this big sweet smile of hers, entering the room with nothing but a bright aura, always greeting everyone, never forgetting to say please and thank you to everyone she speaks to. she's always nice to all the back up dancers but it seems to be an exception, and yes, it's you. you have no idea why did she picked up on you, as far as you know, you always executed your work at perfection, nice and friendly to everyone in the room but when it comes to wonyoung you never knew how to behave. she has a strong presence and for a reason she's well respected, so it's no surprise that whoever she's talking to gets so flustered, almost stuttering in their words. wonyoung laughs at them, finding it cute. however, when you're both talking, she's always annoyed.
now here you are, all of you gathered in the practice room for discussing the new choreographies of i've ive. everything is going great you thought, but your words were spoken too soon and you wanted nothing but take it back as the dance instructor paired you up with wonyoung for hypnosis. the entire practice wonyoung's face was blank, too cold to interact with you, and you tried your best to be the same, but dancing with her as her hand continued to hug your neck so many times got you flustered. as everyone was leaving after the dance instructor called the day off, you were too immersed in your thoughts, way too immersed to notice the tall figure waiting for you.
"it was actually so annoying, you know?" she speaks. all you can respond is a confused "huh?" while looking up at her. "always blushing when i touched you. gosh." she laughed. "i never knew you liked being touched by me that way." she stepped closer to you. you feel all your blood heating up. "you must be so happy to be my dancer, aren't you?" her hand grabs you by your jaw, digging her nails in your skin. your body starts to feel hot and you find it difficult to breath. "because i get to touch you, huh? you must be so desperate for it." her face keeps getting closer at you and you can't snap out.
"w-what? no..." yes, of course you will be stuttering at a time like this. great.
"i'm jang wonyoung and you're nothing but my dancer. only mine. do what i tell you and maybe you'll start to get better." you didn't understand what she was telling you and she didn't give you any time when she pulled you closer to kiss you. was it bad? yes. but was it bad what you two were doing or that you're actually enjoying it...? wonyoung was passionate and you were trying your best to keep up her speed, failing miserably. instead, a moan escaped your lips that she wouldn't let it pass. "i knew you'd be enjoying this, so pathetic." it was crazy. the way you were soaking wet at her words. she's breathless after the kiss but still manages to talk back at you. "you're gonna tell me that you're not wet at this?" soon and with no permission her hand slips down to your panties, not trying to be gentle when her fingers roughly explore your cunt. "look at you. gosh, you're nothing but a slut." you feel your cunt clenching around nothing. you grabbed her by her shoulders, legs getting so weak that you couldn't keep yourself steady. you shut your eyes closed and whine when her hand slips out.
she pulls you down to sit on the floor, her back leaning against the mirror and you sitting in her lap. you jumped at the feeling of her bulge, looking at her with a confused expression. "you better take this all, alright? you don't wanna make me mad, do you?" she asks. you quickly shake your head and chase her lips to another kiss. her hands place on your hips and she hums in the kiss when you start grinding on her dick. her hands soon find their way to your tits, playing with your nipples, making you grind harder and moan in her lips. wonyoung was desperate to feel you around her dick and she was so grateful that you wore big pants that day, because she wasted no time in taking them off. her dick was twitching and she could feel the precum liquid already. when she finally pulled her boxers down, you could feel the urge. her dick was rocking hard. with soft gasps, she grabbed your hand and made you gently start to caress her whole length. "you're so fucking hot, yn" and before you notice, you're sitting down her dick. moaning at the warm feeling. "c'mon, you can take this." she harshly says, forcing you to be completely filled with her. you bit your lip but that didn't stop you from gasping. wonyoung doesn't even want or care about you adjusting to it, already forcing you again to ride her. "f-fuck.." her head leans back as she closes her eyes, drunk in the feeling of your cunt clenching around her. "look in the mirror." you were a mess, not even a single thought crossing your mind as the only thing you can do is enjoy being fucked by wonyoung. you can't understand how she can talk to you this peacefully. "do it. w-watch yourself getting fucked... like the slut you a-are." her hand go back to your nipples and your eyes roll back, the sound of your hips crashing echoing in the room. "f-fuck... you do it so well f-for me.." her moans are so angelic that you don't hold back and bring her to a kiss. your moans soon turned into whimpers and wonyoung knew you were getting close by your grip on her shoulders. even when you cum, wonyoung doesn't stop her thrust, chasing her own release. your head is dizzy and don't dare to look at her in the eyes, your legs trembled for the sudden overstimulation. soon, you feel all her warm liquid filling you, starting to go down her dick as she tries to stead her breath. wonyoung holds you in a way you never felt before, almost too sweet for her. you hug her back until you feel her changing the position. "you really think this is it..?"
Okoki I’ve got a request! If you do reactions could I request bnd’s legal line reacting to seeing their s/o naked for the first time?
If not that’s okay 🤗
first time seeing you naked ᯤ bnd legal line
cw: suggetive, fluff?, jaehyun’s part kinda sucks, i’m so sorry
minors do not interact!!!
masterlist
sungho:
You stood under the warm spray of the showerhead, letting the water wash away the sweat and dirt of the day.
You and Sungho decided to shower together for the first time, so you were waiting for him to join you in the shower.
The door slid open and your boyfriend stepped in, his eyes looking everywhere but you for a few seconds. Finally, he looked at you. You felt a flutter in your chest as he took in the sight of you, standing there naked.
His eyes widened slightly, and you could sense his surprise. Sungho seemed to be taking it all in, his gaze never leaving your body like he’d never seen anything so beautiful.
You blushed as he got closer to you, still taking in your beauty.
“You’re so beautiful.” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
riwoo:
You could hear the sound of his breathing, heavy and deliberate, as he kissed your lips. You closed your eyes, trying to calm your racing heart.
You had never felt this way before. This was it, your first time having sex together. And yet, despite your nerves, you couldn't help but feel drawn to him.
When you opened your eyes, you saw him staring at you intently. His eyes traveled over your body, noting every detail. You felt your cheeks redden as he took in your appearance.
His unwavering gaze remained locked on you while his hand reached out to touch you. His fingers followed the lines of your skin, causing a shiver. It was like he was memorizing every part of you.
A gasp got stuck in your throat as Riwoo drew closer, his eyes filled with a fiery intensity that took your breath away. “I would like you to see yourself through my eyes at this moment, you look gorgeous.”
jaehyun:
Earlier that day, Jaehyun had decided to take the opportunity of you giving him your keys the previous day and wanted to surprise you by showing up unannounced.
Entering your apartment, he saw that you were nowhere to be found, so he quietly crept to your bedroom door, where you were most likely spending your time.
He quickly opened the door, not expecting to find you completely naked, looking at him in shock with your shirt in your hand
“Oh, hi baby, I…” your boyfriend was trying to find the right words for this situation, but he couldn't stop himself from looking at your body. “You’re so wonderful.”
taesan:
The room was gently lit, a warm glow creating soft shadows on the walls. You felt both nervous and excited as you watched Taesan. He adjusted his camera settings with a focused look.
"Are you sure you're comfortable with this?" he asked, concern in his eyes.
You took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, I trust you. I just... it is my first time doing something like this."
Taesan smiled reassuringly. "I'll make sure you feel safe. If you want to stop at any time, just let me know, say the word."
His words calmed some of your anxiety, and you gathered the courage to remove your robe, letting it fall. You felt vulnerable yet strangely good. Taesan's eyes widened slightly, and he remained silent for a moment, just taking in the sight of you.
"You're so beautiful, angel," he whispered, his eyes never leaving your naked body. And there was an honesty in his gaze that made your heart flutter.
leehan:
You carefully hung up the dress you were trying on and started to change, slipping out of your clothes.
Outside the changing room, you heard Leehan's voice as you were halfway pulling the dress over your head. “Y/N, do you need any help?"
"No, I'm okay!" you responded without any thought.
But the fabric muffled your voice, and Leehan didn't hear you clearly, mistaking your reply for a request for help.
Without another thought, he pulled back the curtain. "Hey, do you-" His voice trailed off as he froze in place.
You gasped, instinctively covering yourself with your arms. The dress was half on and half off, leaving you vulnerable. Leehan's eyes widened in shock, and his face turned a deep shade of red.
"Leehan!" you yelled, trying to shield yourself and pull the dress down at the same time. "Close the curtain!"
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" he said, pulling the curtain shut in a panic. You could hear the anxiety in his voice, momentarily distracting you from your own embarrassment.
You quickly finished putting on the dress, your heart pounding. Taking a deep breath to steady yourself, you stepped out of the changing room. Leehan stood there, looking mortified, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I'm really sorry," he said, avoiding your gaze. "I thought you needed help. But you know, you’re so gorgeous.”
Lives Worth Living Chapter 24
ISAT/Two Hats spoilers below! CW: Negative self talk.
"I... I heard you had a bit of an... 'episode'?" (Loo-... Vale asked, looking to you with a nervous glance. You finish pouring their cup of tea as they sat at the table, pausing for a second while looking away.)
"Y-Yeah... I... I found your star..." (You say, looking down at their chest, seeing a bit of that scar through their clothes. They bring a hand up to place over it, lowering their head a little.)
"... I'm sorry to have caused you so much worry." (You sit down across from them, staying silent for a moment before finally forcing some words out.)
"What happened?"
"... I made a wish... I wished for a life of my own, so you could keep yours and I wouldn't need to steal it from you... Of course the Universe couldn't just give me what I wanted without having a little fun first though, so it sent the star in my chest supernova~!" (They begin to explain with that oh so familiar smile plastered on their face... Despite them looking so different, you'd still recognize it anywhere.)
"So I had to tear it out of my chest... It hurt worse than anything I've felt before, even worse than swallowing it and feeling it burn out my insides... I did die for a moment there I think, if Nille hadn't been there it might have stuck." (They note with a playful smile, finally lifting their tea to sip it.)
"N-Nille?!" (You weakly shout, not having expected to hear her name during all of this.)
"Oh! Yes, I forgot to mention that, didn't I? After I... well.." (They fall silent for a moment, looking to you then away again... You lightly place a hand over your heart for just a moment, you both knew what they were referring to...)
"After that, I ran and ran and ran... And ran straight into Nille... Heh... Imagine that, running from my problems, only to run right into the person you all were looking for..." (You lower your head a little, unsure how to respond to that. They seem to notice this.)
"Sorry... These are my problems, not yours. Regardless, we started travelling together, and she's been helping me... figure myself out, I suppose? Where I fit in this universe now that there's no going back..."
"L-Loop-" (They wince heavily at being called that, you quickly cover your mouth with your hand.)
"S-Sorry... Vale, I... You'll always be welcome here." (You offer, you know the gesture probably won't mean anything, but it's the truth, and they need to know that.)
"... I don't think the others will feel that way when they learn what I did to you..." (You both fall silent for a while after that. They were right, your family loved you too much to just let that slide... but did they have to know?... Could you keep lying to them forever?...)
"Stop, Stardust... I know that look..." (You perk up, looking back over at them... you forgot how bad you got at hiding your 'thinking' faces over the years.)
"It has to come out, they deserve to know... and I deserve whatever punishment that brings..." (You pause for a moment, gathering your thoughts, trying to find some sort of solution to this. You look back at L-Vale, come on, get that into your head, VALE! VALE! VALE! They look really distressed about this. You lay your hand on the table, offering it for them to take. They blink a bit, looking back up at you, then your hand again, hesitantly bringing theirs up to lay onto it. You give theirs a firm, comforting squeeze.)
"I thought I'd lost you... twice now... I won't let a third time happen." (You say, as confident as you can through your raspy voice. They give a slight smile in response, squeezing your hand back.)
"Thank you, Stardust... I'll do my best to make things work this time..."
(You both sit in silence yet again, occasionally sipping your teas, it was a bit more of a comfortable quiet now as you were just glad to have them back.)
"So what happened to your voice?"
"... Do you remember when I said the island's name?" (They suddenly choke on their tea, coughing and struggling for air as it went down the wrong pipe.)
"Stardust?!" (They shriek with worry. You wince some, shrinking into your seat a bit again.)
"Long story... Really bad nightmare after losing you..." (You try to explain succinctly, They seem especially worried about the mention of a nightmare, furrowing your brow and tilting your head a bit.)
"What?"
"... What?"
"Why do you... did something happen?"
"N-No? Whatever do you mean?" (They stammer out, quickly bringing their fake smile back... You sigh a bit, but drop it for now.)
"So, you've been travelling with Nille?"
"Yes, she's really quite something else." (They chuckle a bit, a soft smile on their face now.)
"Yeah she is... she got me out of a few bad spirals..."
"Oh, right, she would have been there for all that time, wouldn't she?..." (Vale brought a hand up to the back of their neck, rubbing it lightly, seeming to be nervous about what they were going to ask.)
"... Was she happy?"
"Huh?"
"During that time... was she happy?... Did she have a good life with you all?..." (They looked back down at their cup, staring into the tea for a minute, you were a bit stunned, unsure what to even say to that until they look up back up at you expectantly.)
"... Y-Yeah?... Sorry, did you mean something specific or?"
"... Tell me about it, please?" (The look on their face almost looked... desperate?)
"O-Okay... Uhhh... Her and Bonnie opened a lil restaurant in Bambouche eventually? Her and Isa hang out a lot, they've got a lot in common actually." (You say with a bit of a chuckle, sipping at your tea to help soothe your still sore throat. You peek back over at Vale, who was looking away nervously... a light blush across their face...)
"V-Vale?..." (They jump back to attention, quickly shaking the look and blush away.)
"Yes~?"
"... D... Do you..." (You blink a couple times, trying to piece things out before the realization finally hits you like a boulder.)
"YOU AND NILLE?!"
"Wh-What?! Wh-What about us?!"
"YOU LIKE NILLE?!"
"TH-THAT'S PROPOSTEROUS!!"
"Oh that's so cute!! You two would be so good together!!"
"Sh-Shut up! Th-That's just ridiculous!!"
"Then why are you blushing so much~?" (You grin wide, their face nearly lightless from how deep the blush was. They looked furious, about to yell, only for your comment to completely shut them up, crossing their arms with a frustrated pout.)
"hehe... She never wound up with anyone by the way... I think she said something about never meeting the right person?"
"... Not like that's changed..."
"Hey..."
"J-Just... just drop it please, Stardust... She's far better than I deserve anyhow..."
"... I'm sure we both thought the same about Isa..."
"... You're the one who earned your happy ending, not me..."
"Vale... Come on, you know that's not fair to you..."
"Just drop it... There's nothing more to discuss..."
"... Does she feel the same?"
"Drop. It."
"Okay! okay!" (You surrender with your hands up and a slight chuckle. Your face falls to rest in a content little smile.)
"I'm really glad you're back, Vale." (They roll their eyes a bit in response, sipping their tea curtly with annoyance, causing you to laugh weakly again.)
Seven Days to Fall Again | Thursday | Jeon Jungkook
Inspired by the MV "Seven" by Jung Kook ft. Latto (obvi lol) Summary: Flowers for my love. Jungkook is trying absolutely everything he can to get you back. No matter how ridiculous it might seem. Pairing: Reader x Jungkook (almost exes to lovers lol) Word Count: 3.2k (longer one this time lol) a/n: So I haven't posted anything for this series in almost a month so I'm really really sorry for that. I have so many other series going at this point that it's taken me a second to come back around and write for this one again. This one is a little bit longer to hopefully make up for it. Let me know what you think! p.s. Pretty much wrote all of this is one night so I hope it's not complete crap but I thought it was cute hehe Start from the beginning
Jungkook's visit yesterday threw me for a loop to say the least.
I've tried to do everything in my power to make sure it doesn't get to me but no matter how many pep talks I give myself or how many times I've tried to scold myself instead, nothing works.
I miss him, and I hate myself because of that.
I've been able to go through my morning and most of my afternoon with radio silence from him which has been incredible for my stress levels but I can't help but feel his absence more and more as time goes by.
He was hardly ever around for the last few months of our relationship so I don't know why his presence; which I had specifically chose not to have around now almost feels more painful.
"Maybe I just need a walk" I say out loud "Yeah a walk and some fresh air should clear everything up" I continue, trying to lie to myself in thinking that some sunshine might actually fix this.
Walking out of my apartment and heading straight to the subway I make a decision to go to a little cafe that I used to go to with my classmates. It's been a while since I've been there and their strawberry crepes were to die for from what I remember so I think it's time I treated myself to something nice.
~~~~~~~
Leaving the station I notice a big crowd starting to gather around and I get a glimpse of what they're all staring at, seeing that it's some guy getting picked up off the ground and rolled out on a gurney.
Taking a closer look, believing that I somehow know them, I feel the need to make sure they're okay but I'm stopped by the police tape they've put up.
Once the guy's head turns towards me my eyes widen in horror seeing that it's Jungkook. "Wait! Wait! Jungkook! Wait that's my boyfriend!" I say and duck under the yellow tape not bothering to worry about the repercussions.
When he hears my voice and opens his eyes and I see them quickly change from seeming like he had been on the edge of life and death into his big doe ones, sending me a bright smile, showing zero sighs of distress anymore and leaves me stopping in my tracks.
"CUT" I hear someone shout in the distance. "Who is this girl and why is she on my set?" the same voice say as they gradually get closer.
"No one" I say, crossing my arms over my chest and see Jungkook give me an awkward smile in response. I scoff and don't bother listening to no doubt the director trying to speak to me and from the small bits I catch onto it sounds almost as if he wanted me to complete the scene.
"Not interested" I mumble and walk off, ignoring their efforts to keep me there. "Baby wait!" I hear Jungkook say as he struggles to get the belt they had fastened off of him.
I don't even bother responding and continue to make my way down the street to the cafe, praying that he won't follow me but it seems as though the universe is laughing at me because despite the growing crowd around us he still is able to keep his eyes on me.
"Y/n wait! Please!" he yells, making sure that there's no way possible that I couldn't hear him but I choose to ignore him nonetheless. "Please Noona wait!" he continues, using a word that he knows will get a reaction out of me and my steps stutter for a second but I regain my balance seamlessly and pick up the pace seconds after.
"Excuse me, sorry. Excuse me, thank you" I hear him say, continuing to use that loud voice letting me know that he's still on my tail but as soon as I get to a crosswalk I start to walk a bit faster, hoping to cut him off and lose him when he hopefully gets stuck waiting for the next light and luckily this time it works.
I take a quick glance behind me to check and see him standing there catching my gaze and turning to a flower vender beside him and buying a bouquet of sunflowers, my favorite flowers during this time of year and I know he didn't just get them randomly because no matter how much I think he doesn't pay attention or care about our relationship I know he makes sure he knows the little things about me.
And that's one of the things that makes me want to take him back.
"Y/n wait! Please" he yells and I turn around just in time to see him decide to take a risk and cross the street without waiting for the light and seconds later I hear the sound of tires screeching on the pavement and see Jungkook duck out of view.
"Jungkook" I whisper, stopping dead in my tracks, my body totally frozen at the thought that he might've gotten hit.
Moments later though I see the sunflowers resurface above the crowd and his head soon after that and I watch the exchange between him and the driver and then soon see him turning back to me and abandoning the conversation to start running after me again.
"Wait!" he says and I turn on my heel to keep going, hating the fact that I've already lost the distance I had gained between us.
I duck into a random shop in hopes that he'll somehow lose sight of me and walk right past it, losing me and hopefully letting me resume my intended relaxing day to myself. I'll just stop by the bakery instead and make my way home so I can head in the opposite way of what he probably had expected me to be going in.
As I hear the shopkeeper welcome me I quickly return their greeting and hide behind one of their shelves, picking up a random book and holding it up to my face. Making sure it's open and covering me just enough for him not to notice, but also giving me enough visual to see him pass by and continue his search in the opposite way, just as I had planned.
I watch as he walks past the store, frantically turning his head in all directions to see if he could finally catch sight of me again and to my delight he continues on the path he had seen me on a few minutes before.
I let out a deep breath at the sight and put the book down, finally gaining some of that peace of mind.
"Were you looking for anything specific dear?" the older shopkeeper asks. "No not really, I was just trying to lose my tail" I say pointing towards the window. "My ex boyfriend has been trying to get me back and he won't stop trying to talk to me so we can 'Talk things out' or whatever" I say, letting out a huge sigh, happy to get a chance to talk to someone at least a little bit.
"Well have you given him a chance to say his piece yet?" she questions, leaving me shocked, expecting her to side with me. "Well...no, but we've gone through these sorts of problems before and I just don't want him to say something that will convince me to give him another chance again" I say, walking towards her and leaning on a shelf nearby.
She takes a second to think before responding and says something that I was hoping she wouldn't. "You need to give him a chance to at least say something. Everyone deserves closure don't you think?" she says with a soft smile, hoping to get through to me. "Unless he's violent or something of that sort. Then he can go fuck himself" she says with a grin, already knowing that's not the case.
I open and close my mouth a bit, not really knowing how to respond and she laughs at my reaction, loving how much she's caught me off guard. "He was the young man that just passed by with those sunflowers wasn't he?" she says with a knowing smile. "How did you-" I start out but she cuts me off with another laugh.
"That boy had the most adorable panicked look, searching here and there as if he had lost his owner. He's quite handsome if you ask me" she say winking at me and making me blush a bit at her straightforward nature. "Give him a chance love. And if you let him go, then you let him go. Trust me, you don't want to deal with the what ifs if he stops trying" she says giving me a soft smile.
I know she's right and I know I should at least hear him out but at this point I think it's something I've gotta work my way up to. His all or nothing attitude right now is just too much for me.
"You're right. I'll take some time and when I'm ready I'll sit down with him to talk it all out. Thank you. Oh I'm sorry I should probably get out of your hair. Uh" I stammer at the end, feeling guilty for taking up so much of her time.
"Um here, can I buy this?" I ask, placing a little bear with a lavender flower embroidered on it's collar on the counter, grabbing the first thing I laid eyes on. It can't be more than four inches tall with it's cute round belly and a little sun hat on it with the ears sticking through it.
"Keep it" she say, not even bothering to offer room for discussion as she walks away from the counter. "It's full of lavender petals so keep it close and the smell will help calm you down whenever you need it. You might even want to hold it close when you're talking to that boyfriend of yours" she says with a wink and walks to the back of the store, disappearing behind a shelf, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
I pull out my wallet and put a five dollar bill in the tip jar and take a second glance at the bear and hold it up close to my face, breathing in it's sweet and slightly musky fragrance. I smile down at it's cute little face and put it in my purse. 'I've never been in this bookstore before' I think to myself, now finally taking a second to check out the rest of the interior beyond the immediate storefront.
I make it a note to come back here one day and return her kindness by bringing something for her to repay her not only for the bear but also for her hospitality and advice.
I take one last glance around and turn to make my way out.
"You certainly took your time in there" I hear a familiar voice say beside me, leaving me holding my breath for a second at the scare. "Jungkook" I say placing my hand over my chest before using that same hand seconds later to wack his arm making him drop the flowers he had started to hold out for me to take.
"Hey! What was that for?" he whines, rubbing his arm for a few seconds and picking them back up. "That's for not only scaring me just now, but also scarring me earlier today with that stupid ambulance nonsense" I say throwing my arm out towards what I now know as being a stupid movie set and when I turn back to face him all I can see is a big grin on his face.
"Why are you smiling at me like that?" I question crossing my arms over my chest. "You know you called me your boyfriend back there right?" he says, his smile growing even wider. I scoff at the memory and don't even dignify his words with a response, turning and making my way back to the bakery just as I had intended as my plan B.
"Wait Noona please" he says and places a light grip on my arm. "What?" I spit out, turning to face him again, a look of displeasure on my face which somehow makes him smile even wider. "Can I at least walk you home?" he asks, poised in anticipation.
Now that the shop keeper had equated him to a dog I can't help but notice how much he's been giving off golden retriever energy these past few days. Excited and begging for my attention no matter what I say.
"I'm not going home" I say pulling my arm out of his grasp but he grabs onto my hand this time instead, making me stop again, knowing that as much as I want to, I'm probably not going to get my way this time. "Can I walk you to wherever you're going then?" he questions, now completing the look with his puppy dog eyes that pull on my heartstrings every time.
"Fine" I say and he happily catches up to me after deciding to hand the flowers off to some guy and his girlfriend, knowing for a fact that I won't take them. For a second I don't even realize that he had decided to hold my hand again until he sways them back and forth a bit making me rip mine out of his grasp and opting to cross my arms over my chest instead, leaving it hard for him to try to grab onto me again.
~~~~~~
Walking up to the bakery a few minutes later I stop and face him for a second hoping to shoo him away. "Okay, you can leave now" I say and take a few steps but I still feel his presence close behind me. "Why are you following me?" I ask turning around again, not amused at the fact that he's not listening to me.
"Who said I was following you? I wanted to get something from here too! You know I like the chocolate donuts here, remember?" he says giving me a soft smile. "Fine" I mumble and reach for the door handle but before I can his hand reaches for it and opens it for me. I spare him a glare and he sends me a sweet bunny smile in return making me roll my eyes in response.
I walk in and when he tries to do the same he notices a group of older woman making their way out and he waits to hold it open for them as well and I can't help but roll my eyes again, watching him continue to play the sweet loving gentlemen. They smile and thank him a few times in return which he responds with a smile and once they're finally out he heads inside intending to stand next to me in line but is cut off by a few people between us leaving me smiling in victory but it doesn't last long.
"Excuse me sorry do you mind? I'm with her" he says pointing towards me leaving me widening my gaze and turning around but not fast enough for the others to notice if he's lying or not. "Yeah, sure" one of the guys says and they step aside and let him walk up to me but in the process of squeezing through he stumbles and falls into me a little bit, leaving him latching onto me, pressing me up against the wall I had been leaning against.
"S-sorry Noona" he apologizes, ears turning red clearly embarrassed at our current position. "It's fine" I grumble and push him off of me, creating some much needed space and walking up to the counter where they're waiting for the next customer.
"Hi can I get a raspberry donut and a ham and cheese croissant? Thanks" I say and the worker looks over at Jungkook as he is standing next to me and waits for his order. "Oh we're not, we're not together" I say tripping over my words, this being the first time I've said that in front of someone while he's standing right next to me.
The worker looks between us and draws what I can assume is a line under my order that she's written down and then asks for Jungkook's which he orders just what he had said before, a chocolate donut.
"Thank you" he says warmly and the worker looks between the two of us, not believing my words from before but smiles almost amused by our situation and tells us our orders will be right out before handing the paper over to the cashier where she gives me my total.
Before I'm even able to reach for my card though I see Jungkook place his phone on the card reader to pay.
"Hey!" I say in protest while Jungkook tells her to ring him up again for his donut as well. I decide it's useless arguing with him in public and walk off to the side to wait for our food. "I can pay for my own food" I grumble as he walks up to me. "I know, but I wanted to" he says simply and we wait in silence until they hand us our bags.
"So where are you going now?" he asks, holding the door open for me again and jogging after me, having to hold the door for the next person again. "Home" I say and make my way to the subway entrance. "Can I walk you home?" he asks, already knowing the answer but trying anyway.
"No Jungkook. You can't. You asked if you could walk me to wherever I was going next but that isn't an invitation to follow me around for the rest of the day. Just leave me alone." I say, the last part not as confident as the rest. "I just want to make sure you get back safely" he offers and at that my blood starts boiling.
"I'm more that capable of taking care of myself! I don't need you to babysit me because last time I checked I was the one that was older than you" spit out at him, pressing a finger on his chest. Getting more and more irritated with every breath and watch as his eyes get wide, surprised by my sudden hostile nature.
"I'm s-sorry I didn't think tha-" "And that's exactly what your problem is. You don't think about what I want or even what I don't want. Now will you please leave me alone? I don't want to deal with this today and I don't want you to follow me" I say, punctuating my words so it'll get through his thick skull.
He opens his mouth to respond but I cut him off again before he makes me even more upset. "Don't" I say and walk away, throwing my food away in the nearest trashcan and descend down the step into the subway station, hoping and praying he doesn't follow me.
This time around though the universe smiles down at me, granting my wishes but leaves behind a broken and beaten down Jungkook, truly trying to figure out how everything went so wrong.
The Kingdom of Wishes- A “Wish” Rewrite
Chapter 11- Into The Eye Of A Storm
Chapter 10
The rain was falling down, and thunder could be heard humbling over Rosas.
Aster struggled to free himself from the king's chains that are coming from his staff, but to no avail.
The king just looked down on the star as he held him close to his face, so he began to speak casually:
"So, "Aster" was it? Hehehe I gotta say though, naming yourself just "Star" in Greek? Maybe not your... "Brightest" moment, hum? AH! HA HA HA" The king laughs at his own pun. He completely moved on from the bad mood he was in earlier "OH- I'm on a ROLL today!"
Aster ignores the bad joke as he keeps trying to use his magic to free himself. But their powers aren't responding to him, he's not able to shrink, nor glow brighter, nor unlock the chains, nothing. All he can do is fly and even that feels weaker.
"UGH- Why can't I-"
"Feel your power?" The king finishes their sentence "Dark magic: versatile, easy to use, but somehow oh sooo unappreciated. But I'm sure your magic isn't anything to sneeze at neither, right?" He grabs Aster's face with one hand and makes the star look at him "Care to share a little bit of it? Promise I'll give it back." He says with a very obviously faux gentle tone.
"Yeah right, if you take away my magic you're gonna KILL me!" Aster looks at him furiously.
"Oh you know that? Aw shucks, really thought I could trick ya... But then again" His grin widens "I think you'll come to find that you don't have a choice in the matter"
Asha is still on the top of the building, even though Aster begged her to run.
“LET GO OF HIM!”
Magnifico ignores her like she’s not even there. He’s floating about 2 meters away from where she’s standing.
He’s focused on analyzing the star closely while holding his face “Hmm and what a fascinating form you’ve chosen, it’s like you’re her little hero in cape and everything? How sweet.” He says in a mocking way while pinching his cheek “Though you surely look a lot more… Childlike than I expected, say, how old are you?”
Aster is still fighting but he doesn’t see why not answer the question “Eighteen.”
“18 what, boy? 18 hundred? 18 thousand? Be specific.” The king says nonchalantly.
Aster kinda stops struggling for a second and just gives the king a confused glance “… Well, if you want specifics, I’m 17, but I’m turning 18 in like 2 weeks from now so-”
“Wa-wait you’re serious?” The king interrupts him, staring at him in disbelief. The star nods… Magnifico quickly turns his attention to the girl below them and yells at her in frustration “ASHA! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? MILLIONS OF STARS IN THE SKY AND YOU WISHED UPON A WEAK LITTLE RUNT?! THIS THING IS A BABY” He says while shaking Aster side to side by the chains on his wrists like a rag doll, making the star a bit dizzy.
(A reminder that this man can switch from threatening to comedic at any second and I love it. Like he’s complaining to her like she just got him the wrong pizza toppings.)
“IF THEY’RE NOT WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR THEN LET THEM GO!” Asha exclaims at him, her face is filled with rage.
Magnifico calms down and looks back to the star in his hands like he’s pondering his next move “Hmmmmm… Nah.” He shrugs with a smile “Beggars can’t be choosers I suppose. Besides, this just means he’s too weak to fight back. Isn’t that right, little one?” The king asks with a wicked grin while looking deep into the star’s eyes.
That comment made Aster frown a little.
Even though it’s raining, a few people start gathering bellow where they are to see what’s going on.
Magnifico smiles widely at that. He speaks quietly so just Aster can hear:
“Ooooh looks like we have an audience. Do me a kindness and try to look as defeated and pathetic as you can, okay? I could really use the positive image right now.” Aster has a sad face “Perfect! you’re a natural.” He says like Aster and him are about to perform a scene together in a play.
Asha is looking side to side trying to think on what to do… She notices something on the floor.
The king walks on the air to get few feet down, so his people can better hear him.
(Now let me explain how exactly Magnifico’s flying works, he’s not floating around like Aster does, he’s much more “standing” while underneath his feet there’s a green light, like he just created the steps of a stair. If you watched Onward you know what I mean, it’s exactly like this)
(So I guess Onward reference, huh, who would’ve thought, a Pixar reference at last, took me long enough.)
“REJOICE MY PEOPLE!” the king exclaims ecstatic “Our little “Wish stealing star” issues have been resolved much earlier than expected!” That got a reaction from Aster, his face became furious once again “Like I said, you can always count on me t-“
Aster screamed on the king’s face “THE ONLY WISH STEALER HERE IS YOU! YOU LYING SNA- HMmH!” The king used his magic to keep the boy’s mouth shut.
“Oh-ho and it’s FEISTY TOO! Heheh- GOOD! I was worried this would be way too easy-“
🪕B L A M🎶
“OUCH! AAAH!”
The crowd gasps.
Something just hit the king’s head and made him lose focus on the flying spell. He falls on the floor.
… Asha just threw her Saba’s mandolin on Magnifico’s face, she’s standing on top of the building breathing deeply, relieved that it was a perfect shot.
Aster is free from the chains.
The star doesn’t skip a beat and flies to Asha immediately, holding her in his arms bridal style.
“Hold on tight!” Aster says.
The two fly off in the rain.
We cut to King Magnifico laying face first on the floor.
He didn’t fall from too high up but it was still quite painful.
The crowd is all around him, worried for their king.
Queen Amable rushes to where he is, with some guards pushing the people aside to let her pass.
“DARLING!! OH MY- ANYTHING HURT??” The queen asks genuinely worried, as she sits on her knees next to him.
“… Just my pride.” His voice is muffled, because his face is still laying on the floor. He begins to stand up as he asks “Ugh- quick, how’s my face?” He asks his wife while touching his own face to feel if there’s any injuries.
“As handsome as always, mi rey” The queen coos, caressing his cheek lovingly.
His eyes light up as his excitement returns to him at full force.
“THEN NO HARM DONE!” He exclaims, smiling like a mad man, he’s high on the adrenaline of the hunt.
He stands up quickly to go catch those teens.
“A little bump in the road, sure! But no need for panic everyone!” The king announces to the people around “Just remain in doors and stay calm, things may get a little... Messy hehehe" He chuckles, thinking of all the forbidden and deadly spells he'll finally have an excuse to use.
He uses his staff to run upwards on thin air, he just can't wait to kill those two teens but-
He feels something pulling his cape.
He looks down.
... Amaya is holding his cape, looking at him worriedly... As in, ACTUALLY worried.
He looks at her puzzled, but his eyes for the first time show a gleam of humanity as he looks down on the love of his life.
"... Just... Be careful." She says, glancing at the storm above them.
... Magnus gives her a comforting smile as he removes his cape, it'll be easier to fly without it weighting him down.
He hands the cape to her, whispering softly "I'll be back before you know it."
...
And up he goes.
Amaya is holding his cape tightly...
She has a bad feeling about this.
...
Okay, so now you guys might think Asha and Aster successfully skedaddled from the king's grasp because he took too long on the ground, right?
Well I'm sorry to say but you thought wrong. Here's what was happening with our heroes while this was taking place.
Aster is flying with Asha in his arms, they're going back to the forest, his cape leaves a trail of light.
He sounds quite traumatized as he says:
"HOW DID THAT CREEP MANAGE TO DECEIVE A WHOLE KINGDOM FOR YEARS?? HE'S SCARIER THAN A VAMPIRE STAR!"
(Vampire stars: stars that sucks the outer layers of material from a companion star, stripping their "bitten" victim down to a mere stellar core.
This is a real thing, and now I'm adding to the lore of wishing stars that there are these evil vampire stars that suck away other wishing star's powers... We have fun here.)
"Welcome to Rosas," (🎶Come on, come this way- sorry) "Where everyone just sees what they want to see." Asha says with a saddened expression. She's looking down on her kingdom as they fly away.
She looks at the castle in the distance...
"Wait... Aster, we gotta go to the castle!" Asha tells him determined
The star stops flying abruptly.
"UUUH Why???" Aster asks her in shock, this is kinda deja vu to that other time she suggested they should run to the castle.
"You can un-curse wishes!" She exclaimed "You un-cursed my wish! We can save A LOT of people if we go in there and you use your magic on as many as you can!"
Now usually Aster would be more than happy to do just that... But he's still a bit shaken by the whole encounter with the king, he's afraid he might catch up to them.
"Asha... I'm not sure we-"
"We can do this, he flies way slower than you, if we hurry we can get there before him." She looks into Aster's eyes, she's full of hope that they can at least save some of her people.
Aster can see her light shining brighter.
"... Then we better hurry." He gives her a trusting smile.
He turns around, flying towards the castle as fast as possible.
As they're reaching the castle, there's indeed no sign of Magnifico.
They get near the window of the wishes room.
"See? Told you we could do it." Asha says with a smile
"Yeah... I guess I am a lot faster than him." He says while flying to get through the window "Now let's do this quick before- OUCH!" Aster hits something when he tries to get in...
There's a green forcefield that manifested on the open window when Aster tries getting through it.
"What th-" Aster tries to hit it to get his hand through but the magic seems to be as strong as concrete, he groans in frustration.
Asha’s smile immediately fell into a scowl.
“oooOOOH SERIOUSLY?!” Asha screams.
“Why, yes. I do take the safety of my people’s wishes very seriously.”
… Take a wild guess on who’s standing behind them with a smug grin…
As soon as Aster hears the king’s voice he JUMPS and flies to the roof of the tower.
He’s holding Asha tightly as he KICKS the roof with his two feet to push himself away from the castle, thus flying away even faster.
Magnifico simply smiles as he uses his staff to once again summons a green hand.
The hand moves quickly through the rain.
Aster is flying as fast as he can but-
The hand catches him.
Asha falls from his arms.
She screams as she falls down.
“NO!” Aster yells in desperation.
Magnifico is now right next to him, smiling maliciously.
“Ah the stars look so pretty when they fall, don’t they?”
Aster’s legs are still free, so he KICKS the staff from Magnifico’s hand, making the king lose focus on the spell.
Aster is freed and flies down almost at the speed of light
It’s a shame the moment was so quick, maybe Aster would’ve noticed Magnifico almost stopped floating when the staff left his hand for a second…
“… That was close…” Magnifico said under his breath
Aster catches Asha in his arms.
“YOU OKAY??” He asks terrified.
“NOPE” She says shaken to her core. Holding him tightly.
Aster weights their options in his head… If they go to to the forest the king is just gonna follow them, he won’t give up on getting his power…
His power.
That’s what the king wants, not Asha.
…
He’s gonna have to break Rule number 1 again.
“Asha, listen.” The Star calls her attention, sounding more serious than ever “We gonna have to split up again, but I PROMISE I’ll come back before you know it.”
Asha looks at him confused.
“What?”
His animation looks more sketchy, like it’s unfinished.
“I’ll send you to the forest, very deep into it, so he can’t find you, I’ll just keep him busy for a-“
“NO! You can’t fight him off! You gotta stay AWAY from him.” She’s holding him by the cape.
“I know, but it’s the only way I can keep you safe.”
He lets her go from his arms, making her float with his magic.
“ASTER WAIT!”
“I’ll know where to find you… I’m sorry.”
He stops flying away.
And makes his star dust cary her, flying away deep into the forest.
Asha is looking back at him in the verge of tears.
All Aster can do is sigh.
…
Alright.
Time to fight a sorcerer king.
That happens to be right behind him, again.
“You know there are wolves in those woods, right?” Magnifico asks sarcastically as he floats like he's laying down on thin air.
Aster turn around quickly and uses his star dust to make several swords.
He throws them at the king and-
*Poof*
They just disappear into glittery smoke when they touch him.
“PFFT AHAHAHAHAAH STOP IT- I didn’t sign up for a tickle fight! Hahah” Magnifico holds his sides as he laughs
Aster is stunned.
“W-what? How did y-“
The king casted another spell to capture Aster, but this time the star dodges it.
Aster flies upwards.
The king follows with a wicked smile.
Aster doesn't understand, why didn’t that work?... Maybe the king was just expecting it and shielded himself? Yeah. That’s gotta be it.
He tries again, this time trying to do what the king did to him before, creating chains made of star dust to tie him down.
When the chains reach Magnifico, he just dust them off his body with his hand like it’s nothing.
… Aster is pretty peeved to say the least. His animation seems more sketchy and rough.
“HOW IS THIS FAIR? Your dark magic thing makes my powers useless!” Aster exclaims while he flies away from the king.
“Ha! You think THIS is because of my magic?! Boy, come on, I know you’re young, but don’t tell me I actually know more about your kind than YOU do!”
Aster keeps flying away, but he looks back at the king as he asks “What’s that supposed to mean?!”
“Let me "enlighten you", little one.”
He charges up a lightning spell.
“Your magic is made out of… JOY!
⚡️
Aster manages to dodge the lightning.
“GOODNESS!”
⚡️
Aster barely managed to escape the second one
“AND LIGHT!”
⚡️
“AGH!”
Aster didn’t dodge this last one. Their chest has a hole in it now…
That didn’t feel like that time Valentino jumped through him, this actually hurts... A lot.
Magnifico takes the opportunity to capture him again, this time tying him up with a snake made out of green magic.
Aster doesn’t have time to react before he’s wrapped in the snake’s grip.
There's the sound of thunder near them.
Magnifico approaches him slowly, now that the boy is held still in one place.
“And those things- Well, they can’t really hurt anyone, now can they? Heh heh” Magnifico is now flying right next to the star “So... I’m afraid there's little you can do to defend yourself, or anyone else.” He makes a little pout as if to fake pity.
… Aster never knew his magic couldn’t hurt others… Then again, hurting others was never something that crossed his mind before he met this man.
“… If it’s only made of good things then… Why do you want it so bad?” Aster asks
Magnifico’s eyes light up with the question.
“Oooh because it just needs to be wielded by the RIGHT person, my boy. Yes, in you, this magic is very limited because your heart is pure… But in me and my beloved queen however… We’ll be able to do ANYTHING.” He leans in closer to look at the star straight in the eyes as he adds “And that includes hurting the petulant little brat that wished upon you~”
Aster feels a chill run down his whole body. He couldn’t let that happen.
He tried to struggle out of the snake's grip.
Magnifico is amused by the star's determination.
“Heh heh stubborn just like her, aren’t you?”
“YEAH! SHE IS STUBBORN, AND YOU KNOW WHAT?! EVEN IF YOU DO STEAL MY POWER, YOU CAN’T STOP HER, SHES GONNA INSPIRE EVERYONE IN THAT KINGDOM TO RISE UP AGAINST YOU!” Aster exclaims with no doubt that Asha can do it, even without his help.
“Now what are you blabbering about insp- … Wait” Magnifico looks at nothing as he starts connecting the dots “Don’t tell me- That little performance you two were doing at the plaza…” a smile starts creeping in his face, and he starts trying to hold in a laugh “was -pffff- waS THAT AN ATTEMPT TO- HAHAH TO “INSPIRE” THOSE PEASANTS?!” The king has a maniacal smile.
… Aster doesn’t respond, he just avoids eye contact.
“*GASP* IT WAS! WASN’T IT?! OH- HAHAHAHAH” He lets out an evil laugh that echoes through the storm.
Aster tries not paying attention to what Magnifico says.
He tries looking at anything else, the rain, the lightning strikes in the distance, the king's staff...
Wait.
“OH- oh that’s hahha! That’s too good! OH and let me guess, that was YOUR idea, wasn’t it?!”
Aster already muted Magnifico's voice in his head, he looks closely to the staff... It seems to be made of...
Copper.
Aster hears another thunder.
The boy has a realization… This man is not smart.
Said man holds the star’s face, so he looks at him in the eyes.
“And here I was expecting that the girl got some WISE and MIGHTY guide from the sky! But NOPE! All she got was YOU, a naive little boy that doesn't know ANYTHING about how the world works!" The king has a deranged grin ear to ear as his grip on the boy's face tightens.
"Did you actually think that SINGING and DANCING would change ANYTHING?! Honestly, how much of a FOOL are you?!"
...
The star's face crescents into... A smile.
And the king hear's something that he REALLY didn't expect to hear from the boy.
"...pffft hihihi hi hi he- hehe heeh he heh ahah aahha aha ha HAHAH HAHAHAHA HAHAHA AHAAAHHAHAAHHAHHAHA"
The star boy is just laughing… It’s a youthful and free spirited laugh.
Magnifico's evil glee is replaced by bewilderment. He blinks a few times as the boy keeps laughing in his face.
... Did he just break this kid?... Already? After just knowing him for less than an hour?... Well, that sure is a new record for the king.
Magnifico looks frustrated as he asks "What's so funny?"
Aster calms down, and simply looks at the king with a playful smile as he explains
"Hehe oh nothing it's just that- heh heh yeah, I may be a fool but..." Aster's smile turns into cheeky smirk, and there's a gleam of mischief in his eyes as he says confidently:
"At least I'm not the IDIOT that brought a stick made of copper... Into the eye of a storm."
Magnifico's eyes widens.
And at the same time that realization hits him... Something else hits him too.
And all he has time to say is:
"Oh no-"
(hahahaAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH aaaah… I waited 11 chapters to write this by the way.)
The king’s staff is hit by a lightning bolt, sending shockwaves through his body.
A painful scream echos above the Kingdom of Rosas.
“MAGNUS!!!”
The queen exclaimed in horror.
... Just as she feared... He got carried away.
Needless to say, Aster’s body is freed from the king’s grasp. The boy watches as the man plummets along with the rain drops.
Aster isn’t smiling anymore, even he is shaken by what just happened, even though he saw it coming.
But he has no time to dwell on this now, he has a friend to find in the forest. So off he goes, leaving a trail of star dust behind him, like a shooting star.
…
But we’ll be focusing on Asha and Aster’s reencounter in the next chapter.
Now. Let’s focus our attention on what’s happening down in Rosas.
…
We see the bare foots of the queen running franticly through the dampened streets of her kingdom, she left her high heels behind her.
She's lifting her long skirt up so she can run faster.
Her hair is soaked and messy... Her crown falls on the ground.
She doesn't care, the crown doesn't matter, nothing matters. All that matters to her is finding him.
She’s desperate. An emotion never yet displayed by the relentless queen before.
The guards are trying to keep up with her, as well as other citizens.
She sees people gathered in a circle, the queen pushes through them violently to find what they’re all looking at.
“OUT OF MY WAY!” She yells, her voice is a high pitched screech full of anguish.
The people quickly let her through as they realize who she is.
Amaya finally gets through the people to find…
King Magnifico is laying face first on the floor. Just like before.
“MAGNUS!" The queen runs to his body and hugs it.
He must have used a protection spell, right? He just want to make the star look worse in the eyes of their people, right? Yes, that has to be it.
She tries to take some deep breaths while holding him.
"I-I'm here my love... You may rise now"
No response.
"... Mi vida?... This isn't funny... I know you used a spell to shield yourself... Didn't you?"
She's still not facing him, his face is still laying down on the floor.
A guard approaches from behind her
"... Your highness, we must take the king to the doctor at once-"
"NO- NO HE- he's alright, he-he's just being dramatic, like always ah haha right, my love?"
She starts turning his body so she can see his face.
"Co-come on Magnus, you wouldn't want to keep our people-" She sees his face, a few people in the crowd gasp "... Waiting"
There's a scar.
The king's left eye has a huge scar.
Amaya caresses his face.
...
She hesitates as she places a hand on his chest...
She can't feel a heart beat.
His cold heart stopped.
The king is dead.
...
Final Thoughts
.
.
.
OOOOH I'M KIDDING HAHAHA- this isn't the end of the chapter yet :)
But it could be the ending though, right?
I mean, the villain died, Aster even gave a cheeky smile and a final line the likes of "And everything that comes with it" from Alladin.
In a Disney movie, you defeat the villain and the story can wrap up, right?
What more there is to it?
... Well, this rewrite is meant to feel like a proper Disney 100th anniversary movie, so this ain't your typical Disney movie.
And King Magnifico is supposed to the 100th anniversary Disney villain, so he ain't your typical Disney villain.
No... He has something that no other villain in the Disney pantheon had.
He has love.
And what is love?
Love is, and always will be, the most powerful thing on earth. That's what Disney taught us for 100 years.
So... What happens when the villains have love?
This is what I think happens:
...
Queen Amable’s eyes widen as it becomes undeniably clear… Magnus is dead.
... The rain now is dying down, becoming a drizzle...
She hears the sound of her people mourning for their king, crying and lamenting the tragedy.
...No...
She would not mourn. To mourn would be to accept that he's gone. And she knows him well enough to know that's not what he'd want. No.
She would never give up on him.
All this time she was worried about what these people would think of them, and now here they are, pathetically crying and moaning... They are weak...
She and her beloved don't need them. They never did. All they need is one another. It no longer mattered to her what they thought of her. It no longer mattered if they became afraid of her. It no longer mattered if they didn't love her anymore.
HIS love is all the love she needs.
And so, in this moment. She didn't care in the slightest about showing aaaaall these people... Why in the past they weren't kidding when they called her, well...
A witch.
Amaya suddenly get's up. Surprising the people around with how quickly she did so.
She RIPS the second layer of her long dress, revealing that inside there were many hidden pockets, each one with a small flask of colorful potions that she caries around for emergencies... Such as this.
The crowd gasps in surprise, they all stare at the queen in confusion.
She takes two of the flasks and begins mixing them, her face is cold and focused:
"Phoenix ashes mixed with two drops of scarab beetle juice" The queen says to herself under her breath.
She takes another flask from her skirt
"Newt saliva to heal the heart" She empties the flask and throws it on the ground, breaking it.
Another guard tries to talk to her:
"Uh- umm your majesty what are y-"
"Silence." She tells him, her tone is as sharp as a dagger.
She proceeds to name another ingredient.
"A tear of grief." She says as she takes one tear from her eye, and it really is one single tear.
She stops for a moment as if to remember the next ingredient... She remembers.
Her face turns to the confused citizens and shouts:
"I NEED A CHILD WITH LONG HAIR! NOW!" Her voice echoes, almost louder than the thunder from the storm.
The people are startled, their queen is usually so quiet and gentle, seeing her like this is like seeing a whole different person.
"QUICKLY! I DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME BEFORE THE SOUL COMPLETELY LEAVES HIS CORPSE!" She yells at them furiously.
"He-here!" A woman emerges from the crowd holding her daughter, a little girl with long blonde hair and green eyes.
(Because you bet I'll fit in a Tangled reference in this serious and tense scene)
The queen walks quickly to the girl and plucks a strand of hair, which the girl responds with a little "Ow!"
Amaya measures the hair strand with her fingers
"... This will give him about 10 years... Good enough." She says to herself as she puts the hair inside the flask.
A puff of smoke comes out from the flask... The potion is ready.
... It won't be long now.
She walks to her beloved husband, holding the potion in her hands.
She sits next to him... She pets his hair as she looks at his lifeless but still gorgeous face, scar and all. She looks at him with a wistful smile and...
She drinks the potion.
The crowd looks in shock.
Amaya coughs a few times, by the looks of it the potion tasted terrible... But it would be worth it.
She looks back to her king and says in a whisper
"And now, the most important step... True love's kiss."
She kisses him.
The people in the crowd look hopeful, everyone has read in fairytales what a true love's kiss is.
... But Amaya's magic isn't the same as the magic of a fairy... Oh no no no. When it comes to dark magic, you can't simply gain something for free... All dark magic does is take. And it does take something away from Amaya... Something she values a lot.
As she kisses their king, the people start to notice something is happening to their queen...
Her hair get's whiter, with a prominent white hair streak growing from her roots and embracing her whole braided hair.
(Because you bet I'll ALSO reference Anna's hair, from Frozen!)
Not only that, but her hands and face become more wrinkled.
... The queen is aging rapidly.
The people look horrified, worried they might get their king back but lose their queen
(And let me tell ya folks, that would be a TERRIBLE thing to happen because then our boy King Mag would straight up kill everyone in Rosas and then himself... Again.)
But the queen suddenly stops the kiss, she lifts her head up taking deep breaths, exhausted after giving away 10 years of her life to her love...
She looks 60 years old now.
... The king is still motionless...
...
The crowd is staring in anticipation.
...
Magnifico's eye's are shot open.
"*GAAAAAASP* *COUGH* COUGH*"
He sit's up quickly as he coughs while gasping for air.
"Shhhhh there there darling, just take some deep breaths now" The queen coos gently, her previous cold hearted demeanor vanished in an instant, and she's once again the kind and loving queen they all know her to be.
The crowd cheers and applauds the queen for successfully bringing the king back to life.
And said king is... Very lost on what on earth just happened, as he places a hand on his head and his eyes are closed, he seems to be in a lot of pain.
"UGhhh... My head-"
"Does it hurt? I can make something to help with that... Healing your face however, may prove to be more of a challenge." The queen says while petting his back.
The king's eyes widen at the comment, he quickly turns to look at his wife for the first time since he came back to life
"What's that about my fa- *gasp*" He get's startled when he sees HER face.
His queen is changed... She's smiling at him, which show even more all her new wrinkles... The white hair streak is very noticeable on her crown-less messy and soaked wet hair.
Magnifico stares at her incredulous... He starts connecting the dots in his head, as he also remembers what happened to him...
"... Amaya... What did you do?" He says as he places a hand on her cheek gently. His eyes are full of worry.
The queen stops smiling... She instinctively tries covering her face with her hands.
Magnus immediately holds her hands, as he looks her deep in the eyes and reassures her "You are... And ALWAYS will be the fairest queen of all, and no curse in this world or any other can change that for me." He says with certainty.
... Even though it's raining, by the queen's expression it's clear that she teared up with that comment.
The king wraps his arms around her gently, like she could turn into dust at any moment.
"... I'm so sorry that I failed you... This never EVER should've happened... But I swear to you, my love" His voice goes cold "I will not fail you... Ever again."
... He would not let himself get carried away again...
That girl is going to pay.
And that star will be theirs.
King Magnifico realizes they're still being watched... They'll continue this tender moment later. Now, he better make the most of the situation, after all, him being literally MURDERED by the star boy certainly helps his side of the narrative.
The king tries to get up but his legs are still feeling a bit numb, his body is still getting used to the fact that it's up and running again. Two guards help him stand up. And they also hand him his magic staff that was laying next to him
Magnifico is now standing up with his wife holding him tightly.
He takes a deep breath to start one of those long and inspiring speeches of his:
"People of Rosas... It seems even I underestimated just how vicious the enemy we're facing really is... The fallen star thought he could kill the heart of this kingdom, but as you can all see, this HEART is still beating! And it shall remain like this for many years to come!" The king says proudly.
The people cheer in unison. Some saying "Long live the king".
... Probably not the best time for Amaya to tell him she could only give him more 10 years soooo he's not getting past 65.
"Rosas shall never fall! For we are the kingdom of HOPE! And NO force in this world can stop-"
"*COUGH COUGH* Aah"
The king's speech is cut short, as the queen starts coughing and her legs go weak.
"Woah woah Amaya?" Magnifico looks worried as he holds her closer to him, stopping her from falling.
The people gasp in surprise
The king holds her close to him and whispers "Heh heh no need for theatrics my love, th-they're already on our side" Magnifico says, hoping the queen is just being dramatic to gain even more sympathy from them.
"... It's not pretending" She whispers to him "I feel... Weak."
(If this was a movie, the whole internal dialogue that will happen now, as well as Amaya's internal dialogue that happened earlier, would be just their expressions changing from worried to serious in a few seconds, and just by their expressions and the music the audience would be able to tell that this is a "Oh, they snapped" moment)
...
Only in that moment Magnus really starts to process what just happened.
He... DIED.
Just like that... He could've left her... Alone... Forever.
And why did he die?... Because he wanted to impress these people. He wanted to make a big spectacle about capturing that star. They made him weaker.
Not only that, but their love and loyalty was flimsy. It took only ONE GIRL speaking in front of a crowd for some people to start questioning him... Clearly, he and his queen are doing this all wrong.
All this time, pretending and deceiving to gain the love of these people, so they'd trust him with their wishes... But the situation changed. Once he harness that star's power, they'll have no use for these people anymore, will they?
So why be loved... When they can be feared?
It's not like he needs their love anyway.
HER love is all the love he needs.
And so, in this moment. He didn't care in the slightest about showing aaaaall these people... Why he wasn't chosen to be the heir to the throne.
...
The king's face morphs from worried to stoic, as he caresses his wife's hair gently.
The people are looking at him, expecting him to continue the speech.
But instead, Magnifico addresses one specific guard that is standing next to some others
"Captain O'Danohue." The king's voice is emotionless, he's still looking down to his wife while talking to the soldier.
The captain steps forward.
"Yes sire." The captain is a tall and large man with a beard and ginger hair just like Simon's
"Where did that star and that girl go?" Magnifico is still not making eye contact with the man
"They were seen flying to the forest, your majesty."
"Good, good. Send all your men to search for them immediately."
"Right away, your majesty. Do not worry, we'll-"
"And if they're not found til tomorrow night your men will burn that whole forest down." The king added, still talking monotonously.
That gets a few surprised looks from the people around them
The captain of the royal guard is taken aback by this "... Pardon me sire but I think I misun-"
The king finally takes his eyes off his wife to look at the captain with a bored expression "They can't hide in a forest if there's no forest, now can they?" He says like it's just common sense
The captain is perplexed "But- But what about the people that live there? There are houses in the woods."
"They have till tomorrow night to leave then." The king said simply "But of course, if that sounds too hard for you I can burn it down myself." Magnifico shrugs.
The people look shocked... The island's forest has been considered sacred for generations.
The king adds
"Oh, and speaking of "leaving", have your men also burn and destroy all the boats at the docks... No one get's in or out this kingdom until we find that star, was I clear?" He says while looking at the people around him this time.
Simon's father is speechless for a moment... The king seems to have lost his mind, but that's understandable, right? He died a few minutes ago.
The soldier tries to snap him out of it:
"My liege, with all due respect, I don't think-"
"Due respect?" Magnifico interrupts him once again, this time with a hint of anger creeping in his voice "I think you misunderstand captain. You all OWE ME all the respect you can possibly give, not only as your KING, but also as the one who MADE YOU who you are." He doesn't even raise his voice much, those words echo in the hearts of all the citizens that had their wishes granted "I didn't grant your wish of becoming my knight for you to THINK, O'Danohue, I did it for you to OBEY... Was I clear?" The king asks again.
The captain goes stiff.
He bows down to the king as he says "Crystal clear, your majesty."
... A sinister smile finally returns to the king's now scared face.
"There you go, that's a lot easier, isn't it?" The king says condescendingly.
That felt good... He should've done this a long time ago.
He looks down to his queen that he has been holding in his arms this whole time, she's looking up to him, also smiling wickedly.
They're on the same page, they won't pretend to be something they're not anymore.
That girl thought that truth would set these people free? Oh... They're more trapped than ever.
They both turn to look at their frightened and confused subjects.
The king’s glares at them as he says "... I believe it’s quite obvious what will happen to anyone who dares helping the traitor and the star" The green gem on the king's staff starts glowing "Right?"
The crowd all shakes their heads "Yes" quickly, as they know this is a threat.
The gem slowly stops glowing.
"Wonderful, that will be all then." He lifts the staff upward to hit it on the ground "And remember, Rosas... Just keep wishing." He has a subtle smile, this phrase is what he always says at the end of Wish ceremonies.
He hits the floor, creating a huge cloud of green smoke that engulfs him and Amaya, they teleport to the palace.
(I was gonna write Magnifico's reaction to his new scar... Buuuut I think I'll keep that off screen, I think you guys can imagine how he felt about it.)
...
The people of Rosas are at a loss.
Some think the king just went insane and it's all thanks to that star.
Other's think that he's right to take desperate measures to handle this threat.
And a few are now starting to realize that maybe they've been lied to this whole time and the king has always been a bad person.
No one is quite sure what to think of this.
...
Except for a certain group of teens... And a goat.
Who went inside to get cover from the rain just before the king went after Aster... So they didn't see the whole ordeal that just happened.
But they have seen enough to know exactly what side they're choosing to be on... Knowing what they know now.
...
Note that I didn't say how many teens are in that group.
Chapter 12
Final Thoughts
(for real this time)
... So ummmm... That was a lot, wasn't it? hahaha
I swear next chapter will be all about Asha and Aster and there will be WHOLESOME VIBES... After some sad vibes first.
Yeah, they gotta have a little heart to heart BUT it'll be more chill than THIS whole thing that just happened. In fact, from this point forward things should get a little bit more calm... For a while.
But now speaking on this chapter-
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO CHARACTER DESING CHANGE!!!!
THE BROTHER KILLER HAS A SCAR!
THE WITCH LOOKS OLD!
REFERENCES ALL AROUND!!!
I usually don't say this, but ummm if I see fanart of King Magnifico with a scar on his left eye and Queen Amable looking older with a white hair streak it would be so awesome, it would be so cool... Just saying I would go insane, even more than I already am.
And the way I came up with this plot point weeks ago literally is the funniest thing, here's how my thought process went:
I want the confrontation in chapter 10 to feel tense... I'll say it's a cloudy day... Clouds bring rain... And rain brings a storm... And storms brings lightning... And lightning kills Disney villains... I'll kill Magnifico because he had it too good for too long. He needs to take an L. His actions have consequences.
SO THE NARRATIVE ESCALATED FROM:
"IT'S A CLOUDY DAY" TO "THE KING DIED."
LMAO
But seriously though, THIS is a big turning point for the villains.
Initially, they just wanted Aster's power for the sake of wanting it, because it would be fun to have it... Now? Now it's a NEED.
It's a need because they need immortality, Magnifico had a taste of his own mortality, and Amaya is older and weaker, they NEED to have that magic so they can live together forever. Have their happily EVER after, so to speak.
To me that feels more unique and compelling than just "We want power... Even though we already got it."
And speaking of Aster CAREFUL BOY! YOUR PETER PAN SIDE IS SHOWING!!! That laugh Aster let out is supposed to feel like a Peter Pan laugh by the way.
Yeah writing Aster and Magnifico's dynamic was SO MUCH FUN like wooooow you guys have no idea. It's Captain Hook and Peter Pan, it's Alladin and Jafar, it's Hercules and Hades, I wanna fit in all those vibes!!!
But let's address the elephant in the room... So true love's kiss, huh?
I just think it would be HILARIOUS if Disney not only gave us a villain couple for the first time ever... BUT ALSO USED THEM TO PROVE THE POINT THAT TRUE LOVE IS POWERFUL AS HECK.
I mean, they've shown us that
Over
And over
AND OVER
So I think having this classic trope happen, BUT TWIST IT in your 100th anniversary movie, would be pretty neat ya know? like, I think, you guys tell me, I don't know 🤷♀️
Anyway, this chapter was LOOOONG and full of emotions, mostly tense ones, but things are gonna chill a bit with Asha and Aster on the next one, I promise!
As always
