i know many artists have no control over the marketing of their own music but "secret tracks" & vinyl variants piss me the fuck awffff like you're not preserving the art of analog music it's just a cash grab to destroy pockets of tweenagers' parents and every one else who loves your music too much to not participate

#not that pop music has ever been about preserving artistic integrity #but to do it for record store day??? it feels so insulting to me when record store day should be about maximizing the profits of the STORES #it sucks the joy out of it imagine ur first RSD is fighting in the pop aisle bc u can't get all 4 variants of the same record u already own #(keep in mind most artists will put out ONE record with unreleased tracks for RSD) (not fucking FOUR with all different ones)#it's one thing if a new variant comes out every year or few years #or an anniversary variant with NEW tracks is even better #but acts like OR and TS dropping four variants at once is so annoying #(and reduces collector value bc now the market is so saturated with collector items instead of having 1 regular and a VERY limited variant)#even paramore doing three was like ok buddy #can u tell im mad #some of my fave artists do this too i'm not excluding anyone
