i got the theory from this comment but i'll also give my own explanation (not gonna go find the relevant in-game dialogue since i'm in a hurry sorry)

the evidence cited is that the snuff radio station probably shut down around the same time frame as cunoesse appeared; that cuno strongly believes she's murdered someone before (probably another child, according to harry's reasoning); and that the red-soaked chair in the fishing village abandoned shack would be a good setting for a snuff radio station set-up. other evidence includes cuno's pretend snuff set-up with the desiccated pig's head in his shed.

imo it would make a lot of sense for cunoesse to be involved in something like that. it would explain why cunoesse is so utterly, graphically fixated on the hanged man's corpse, and particularly the idea that harry and kim are going to fuck it. as much of this is her trying to antagonize the adults, i think there's a part of her to which it makes perfect sense that a grown man would fuck a corpse, because that's what she's been exposed to.

furthermore, going with the game's line that she's actively making cuno worse, she's the one who makes most of the sexually explicit comments and suggestions, including having him 'cry rape' when harry's talking to him and coaching him on what to say. despite this, she's terrified of harry approaching her and will break off conversation with him if he does so. from experience it's not uncommon for csa victims around that age to be obsessed w/ sex but also, yknow, traumatized by it.

then there's her imagining herself as a mythical creature. and then there's her begging harry to shoot her and being very upset if he misses the shot. even for martinaise she's an extreme case. plus she seems to sincerely believe harry is going to arrest her for her past crimes, and cuno is completely convinced that she's a murderer, to the point where he's afraid for his own life after leaving her. like, idk how much of this is just them being edgy.

so in summary my take on it is that like. cunoesse was involved with the production of the snuff-station, has in fact killed another child, and copes with it by imagining that she's an evil mythical demon who'd be set free if harry could get his shit together and learn to aim a gun

To add onto this as a good anti slaughterhouse message, I have a undearing story ill be very careful with.

In my freshman year of highschool, i took a mandatory speech class, which was fine but was mostly FFA and was taught by the agriculture teacher instead of an English teacher. This was my first year in a rural are, and id never heard of FFA and barely knew anything about farming, and i still really dont.

The next semester, speech turned into "applied livestock management" that i couldnt change out of. My teacher told us that sometime during the second semester, we would castrate young pigs. I figured id be fine, as long as i didnt show up, i knew id probably hurl even watching that.

The thing about this teacher was that she was very poorly organized, and prioritized her FFA work over her actual class work, which is why so much of it was FFA with a mask on. She was rude, and was whiny (one student calling her an asshole, middle schoolers yknow, was the worst thing that couldve ever happened, and the day was ruined. ) she was overall one of the worst teachers ive ever had in my school years.

So when it came time for us to castrate this pig, I figured there'd be obvious warning, lessons on anatomy, how to properly do the castration, all that jazz so we dont kill the pig. But that never happened.

I walked in one morning a few minutes late, and they're watching a four minute video of some guy castrating a pig. Panic mode sets in and i start trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do, because theres a bucket in the corner and a woman with a bucket of 6 barrows, and im already feeling nausious knowing whats about to happen.

As a optimist im thinking, "okay maybe when they put them to sleep they'll let me stand in the shop while they do whatever" (spoiler alert, i was wrong) and she hands out used, dirty craft knives, iodine, and blankets to put on the floor, and starts explaining that we were to get in groups, to hold the big down, do the castrating, etc. I start getting dizzy and the pigs are screaming because theyre being forced into these blankets, and kids are starting to cut into them.

Everything comes up when i end up catching a glimpse of this, and I have to run out to hurl in the shop bathroom. I spend the rest of the class hour listening to barrows screaming so loud i can hear it in the bathroom, which just adds to the effect of nausea.

When im done and it's pretty quiet compared to 20 minutes before I just go ahead and leave the bathroom feeling clammy and gross. The teacher asks if anyone has any nail glue or super glue so she can close the wounds, and I haven't eaten pork since and avoid meat the best I can in general.

Please take a little time to know the standards that people take care of cattle at, and if it disgusts you the way it disgusts me now, act against it.
