catholic evangelicals as i call them are so weird…like they tout the standard bullshit redpill christian shit, which includes devaluing education and that’s BIZARRE to me! being raised catholic and going to catholic school education was sooo highly valued even for girls so it’s weird that all these ‘catholic’ men want fundie tradwives…like yeah, i was taught that i WOULD be a wife and mother, but after i scored a college degree and a good job (which you can say is still fucked up that is girls were expected to do everything, but we were expected to go to college and get educated just the same as the boys). so seeing ‘Catholics’ get all weird about college and homeschooling and focus completely on abortion and marriage is just weird? those things were part of my religious education but not with anywhere near the same fervor and not in the fundie way, and it wasn’t like I was in school THAT long ago? even the girls i knew from really traditional/conservative Catholic families were expected to attend a good college and were often pushed to become doctors/nurses/lawyers/teachers.
