HSR 2.6 Quest Thoughts (Spoilers)

(Partially another Dan Heng love post -Resident Dan Heng Enjoyer /hj)

I liked how compact the cast and overall plot is! Definitely easier to follow the events and new characters, which was only a whole 2 of them, which I personally appreciated.

Rappa's backstory adding a tragic context surrounding her behavior and personality hit me harder than I anticipated. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but her being tied so closely to Dr. Primitive didn't even cross my mind prior, but it makes so much sense in hindsight. I was moved by her. I already liked her a lot before but the quest added to that as well. Also Master Shura was interesting to me. He was the "person in a questionable organization that actually questioned the morals of the organization" but the way he was handled intrigued me. Rather than a straightforward immoral -> moral type mindset, he concludes that morality is "a hypocritical and superficial concept" before killing Umbra Headmistress. He's better than the others there but he came across as more tragic in the end, which I find to be an approach that has me thinking about it after. Overall it's cool to see how connected Rappa is to the situation.

Also Mr. Reca is fun! Him being a Memokeeper and showing off the range of abilities/themes for those in the Garden of Recollection make me look forward to any potential Memokeeper characters in the future.

Having a quest go more into depth of Boothill was also nice! Seeing our Galaxy Rangers be expanded on a bit more is something I'm always happy to see. Hearing Nick mentioned by name made me lose it LOL, watch me break down in tears the moment his daughter is too. The sequence of him "falling" into the association's ideals made me more aware of how invested I am in his identity and goals. He made himself a living memorial of everyone he'd lost and the thought of him losing that unsettled me, so that section really got me the more I was made to think about it.

I appreciated how Robin explicitely notes that she still didn't have a "better answer" to the debate about the bird. Rather than having some answer at the end of the Penacony quest, she still has to think about it, and considering the complexities of that topic, I appreciate that it's treated as such by the characters.

Overall, the themes about evolution, ambition, identity, and individuality feel very fitting with Penacony and HSR as a whole. In a universe where there are billions of tragedies across the galaxies, where many factions and beliefs are born, clash, and either carry on or fade away, where dramas play out under the spotlight or in the darkest recesses of space, this is just another small anecdote in history's tapestry, and yet, to those involved, it's important. And in the end, that matters.

Impulse designing got the better of me again… anyways here’s my interpretation of Akivili from Honkai Star Rail

Based on Pom-pom (beta + current) and Stelle and Caelus's design. More under cut, since my brainrot was pretty bad I’ll put it under there.

Weapon, thanks to @skyward-current for the idea of making smth based on a telescope. So 8 ish hours struggling later we got this thing, which is supposed to be a telescope that doubles as a blaster. This doesn't give telescope vibes but this will do for now. Yeah I suck at weapon designing man, never got used to these mfs after all these years :V

Battle poses/concept. If Akivili were to be playable, I wanna bet them to be Fire/Trailblaze, or at least Fire/Destruction if Hoyo wants to stick to the main 7 playable paths (although I HOPE they'll make them an exception) I tried to make something that fits the telescope blaster thing I tried to design, but then I still wanna keep my original idea for their battle somehow (chucking the Astral Express at the enemy) so bam that's their ult now :/

Anyways babbling time-

I highly doubt that Akivili is even dead, lost after some event sure, but something tells me they're not dead. For all we know this mf could be vibing in the Sea of Quanta or smth. I'm sure at some point in HSR plot we'll meet/become the Trailblaze at some point in the future. Definitely really later on like.. say 5.0 ish or later.

As for personality, I wanna say they're the most... Humane/moral of all Aeons due to being the one that surrounds themself with mortals the most often. Cause let's be real here: there are literal documents in HSR stating that Akivili is known to live alongside humans. This is also why my design is very human, with some small details that try to differentiate them from mortals.

Well back to personality, I feel like Akivili is very outgoing to everyone, Nameless and strangers alike, but also very reckless. Like they give off doing it despite knowing it's dangerous vibes to me, but I think that's just me associating Stelle and Caelus to the Trailblaze too often.

... Oh now that I think abt it, should I give them more bird features? I read on the wiki that Akivili could represent a word meaning "eagle" or smth ...

thinking about how the aeons in hsr really feel similar to the entities from tma... like just the vibes of them being so mysterious, powerful, and untouchable with a dash of them being Utterly Eldritch is a+ for me

like. and some of them correspond really well to certain entities

nanook - the slaughter (also could work as desolation or extinction but i feel like the legion makes them more slaughter adjacent)

lan - the hunt (fucking duh)

yaoshi - the flesh (yaoshi's deal just reminds me of jared's gym tbh)

aha - the spiral (something about aha's origin as witnessing the empty horror of existence and then just laughing about it feels SO spiral to me. could also be stranger with the whole mask motif tho)

oroboros - the hunt (shared with lan because while lan's definitely the kind of hunt that daisy and the vampire hunters had, with the sense of misplaced justice fueling bloodshed, oroboros is the more animalistic fear of being eaten)

tayzzyronth - the corruption (bc the corruption has two major themes - filth + toxic love. a creature that created a plague of insect monsters out of sheer loneliness rly fits this. could also be the lonely but im feeling more corruption tbh)

terminus - the end (It's Literally Fucking Named Terminus)

IX - the extinction (yeah. could also be the lonely but mostly extinction)

fuli - the eye (their followers literally just spend all their existences gathering memories from people like. fr)

nous - the eye (they're both equally eye-aligned tbh)

mythus - the dark (literally came into existence in order to prevent nous from knowing everything which works very well with the whole thing the dark and the eye have going on)

akivili - the vast (funnily enough as much as akivili gives me vast vibes i feel like their existence sort of counteracts the vast lol)

what would tangerine and lemon's path + element be?? i have a couple ideas but i'm not sure LOL

tangerine would def be Destruction because well. his personality + line of work, but for his element?? i'm not so sure only considering the fact that we don't have much of an explanation as to what exactly gives a character their element.. but if i had to i think his would be Imaginary

as for lemon, i could do that "oh lol they're sorta twins" thing and give him the opposite of Imaginary i.e. Quantum (which i do think fits) but as for his path i'm not really sure! something like Erudition came to mind at first, but then i was like "well i don't know how much logic he uses in that case" but then ALSO. i forgot The Hunt existed, and i guess he could fall under that!

as for the others.... maybe some other time when i feel like drawing them because right now i need to get started on giving the twins some sick outfits (and by that i mean give them Slightly Altered versions of their regular ones to fit the vibes of the HSR universe)

MINA AS THE TRAILBLAZER IS SO PERFECT YES!!! let the alien queen have a space adventure! Nana has such Himiko vibes (aka mom vibes) and Shoto and Toshinori round out the group so perfectly.

Ironically it was trying to figure out who would fit nicely in a pseudo-March 7th role that I came to Mina as the Trailblazer; when @chaosphoniex here tried to suggest Mina for March when I was already starting to settle on Shoto

So I decided to let Mina have the Trailblazer role

I actually had to dig a little into HI3rd because I knew there was the very likely speculation that Welt in HSR is the same Welt from HI3rd and wanted to verify something with Himeko- and that's what sold me to put Nana in that role with Old Man Yagi in the Welt role because Welt is basically the dad for everyone; including Himeko.

Izuku was where I first drafted this because I knew I wanted to have him be a Vidyadhara, however I did not want to have Yoichi as his past life because a lot of people like to make Izuku into some kind of reincarnation of Yoichi or someone else important to AfO in some fashion.

Plus I wanted to have another AU where AfO is perma-dead and not coming back lol

It was supposed to be a guy at first but as I thought about it more I think it would be sexy af if it was a woman instead.. Daydreaming in the bus earlier gave me ideas so while I'm still deciding I'll just use they/them pronouns lol

Outfit is subject to change to something fancier but I was thinking they might be a bit stealthier than the others (lol they don't give a FUCK about being seen and getting big bounties) so that's why the outfit is less noticeable. Idea is that on the left is during mission and on the right is the more casual/civilian look if that makes sense

Also I love freckles, I think they always look good on anyone/any character that has them and since this is HSR and anything is possible I said fuck it and give me fancy sparkly gold freckles.

But yeah, would love to hear what vibes they give off for you ! No need to think about it too hard lol no pressure but I would be open to element/path suggestions lmao

xiao is a great favourite character!! i remember he was the first character that i really wanted to get and then i got qiqi. so...

his chinese va is so good! his voice is much softer and idk it fits him more? like, it's a completely different vibe compared to the english translation.

YANQING!! he is also my favourite hsr character!! he's just a little guy, i love him. i'm hoping to either lose my 50/50 on him, or just pick him as my free 5 star because i need my silly little sword dude.

as for your questions, i have a bad habit of buying books and not reading them, so i have a few books that i've gotten recently. my favourite media is bungou stray dogs (as also mentioned in 🦢's ask lol) and i think if i had to pick a favourite animal i'd say cat. specifically my cat. she's a menace but i love her.

they have fucked up luck 👍 it fluctuates between extremely good and extremely bad when they least expect it

aha saw this and went "oh this is gonna be hilarious" and made them immortal. in my file abt them i describe it as "kenny mccormick style" lol as in when they die they just wake up fine the next day (but here ppl don't forget abt their death. bc it allows them to pull better pranks). they do retain scars from their deaths, but these fade away with time. they're a relatively new immortal, maybe like 100-200ish years old atp

they're a masked fool and thus are ofc silly and goofy. however also very sad. it's kind of unclear if they actually worship aha or if they're just Coping with their inescapable reality. as you do

story wise i'm. not sure where to put them. ik they live in penacony rn bc no pain 🙌 bc otherwise they literally always are in pain (retaining scars also means retaining the pain of what caused them!). they're genenrally a traveler tho :3 also since i literally originally made them for the purpose of self shipping they LOVE to annoy veritas. i think they found him there while he was on his mission and kinda latched onto him (also following the hc/theory that he's an emanator of elation against his will bc it's funny and sexy and cool. and chance is as well. so.) i do terribly want to make up a story abt these two, maybe getting into a Situation bc of a burst of chance's bad luck and having to make it out of there together and bonding in the process idk.

gameplay wise, they're a destruction unit, and are a mix of their Things aka luck and being unable to die (they CAN die but they might come back with 1 hp. with a limit of how often/how many times it can happen too ofc). their skill can do one of 6 effects i will not get into, 3 or 4 of them are solid (that 4th one depends on your playstyle and teammates ig), 1 or 2 are kinda meh (again. the second one depends. first one has a lower chance [ha] tho dw), and one is REALLY good but only has a 1% chance to trigger

originally i planned for them to be a physical character bc bleed 👍 but i started analyzing what each element means recently and came to the conclusion that they don't fit the bill so i'm considering fire, or possibly lightning bc eh idk i like hsr's lightning characters (and other elements don't fit either bc of their own meanings or just bc of vibes). fire does fit their aesthetic more tho :P open for your own takes if you have any btw 🫡

What distinguishes Daytona Ent from other labels is that they do not want to present themselves as a group or a team, but rather focus on each artist’s individual talents and colors. There will be no group activities like concerts or Dingo Freestyle contents. The reason for this is that artists in labels that do have joint activities, the artists might feel pressured to have to act they like are closer than they actually are.

(In my opinion, that’s a good thing, because the artists can just focus on their music and pick their collaborating artists more freely. I think for Ambition Musik members, it is/was a bit of a struggle how most of them are introverts who only meet few very close friends regularly, but fans expect them to present a happy family, and The Quiett wanted to avoid that pressure for his artists this time.)

The latest update was that two artists who joined the military together will be signed, and it was rumored to be either Skinny Brown and TOIL or Skinny Brown and Jayci yucca, but now only Skinny Brown was revealed, so there might be another artist revealed soon! So far, it’s been about one artist every month, so it might not be too long...

Some of my personal guesses for possible new artists with reasons (I might be wrong but guessing is fun). (As we can see, Daytona artists are all already well-established underground artists who have been making music on their own and not super young (25yo and older), they are not kids who still need to be raised/guided a lot, and that’s the main characteristic I’ll be going with):

TOIL or Jayci yucca, because the article said so :D But for TOIL I thought it’s not so likely because 1) The Q doesn’t like signing producers lol and 2) TOIL has been loving the money, and he won’t have to share that if he stays independent IF IT ISN’T (plot twist) money he got from getting signed haha. For Jayci I’m not sure, he seemed fine releasing tons of albums and MVs independently, but maybe he wouldn’t oppose to signing either. I haven’t seen him working or being in contact with either of the CEOs though.

GI$T/GIST - he’s been around for a while, The Quiett LOVES him and always masters his albums (like he used to for Leella wink wink; GIST is also known as one of The Q’s sons). Gist is very talented at singwriting, singing and rapping (even though he seems to prefer not to rap anymore lately). He’s young but he’s got it all. He has worked with some of the other members before, too. And for a long time, he was rumored most likely to be the next artist to get signed to Ambition.

JAEHA - same actually with the singing and talent, haha. He’s only 17 but a melody genius and people are starting to realize it. He released 2 albums all by himself already and expressed in an interview that all the attention is already too much for him to handle. Now that he’s on HSR, that attention and pressure will even increase, so it would be nice to see him in a label where people take care of things like selling and shipping physical albums, contacting distributors, managing promotions etc, so he can focus on music and school. He might be too young or early in his career, though - it might be a bit weird to get signed (and therefore being on the same level so quickly) to the same label as Futuristic Swaver who is like his role model and mentor, so they might opt against him.

Ourealgoat - what can I say, he’s been working his butt off in 2020 and 2021. He only started rapping in 2018 while he was in the military, then learned producing because beats are expensive, and has been releasing album after album since late 2019. His unique rap style and thoughtful lyrics got him recognized by The Quiett and Yumdda as well as Groovyroom and Jay Park, in my imagination they are fighting over him :D I think he is a candidate for AREA too, but I’d prefer seeing him in Daytona. Even though he fits the “clean”, “good boy” vibe that h1ghr is giving off to me, I think in Daytona he will have more freedom (for example in staying close with his crew, keeping on working primarily with them if the wants that).

Kid Wine. He, too, has been around for a LONG time, is close with Wayside (who have members in both Ambition and Daytona - just look at his album features: they’re almost all wysd members or ppl VERY close to them like D-Hack and Yongyong - and also The Q himself). He’s also known to be one of The Quiett’s “sons” and he’s a producer, rapper, and singer, one of those multi-talented people. He produced Fadeaway, one of last year’s top hits.

ChaMane. Actually, I don’t know him well, I only discovered him quite recently. I found him on a list for The Q’s sons so that’s why he’s here :D He was on Raphouse on Air recently and has worked with Kid Wine and GIST, and The Q too but that’s a while ago.

- I don’t really know where to look for KHH rumors in Korean, and there is nothing in English, so maybe I’m overseeing some obvious candidates. These are just some of my faves who I happened to have been following closely enough to make these kind of connections :D If anyone wants to discuss, please do!
