#istg if I see another argument as to why a harmless ship is “actually incest” because of “code relations I'm going to scream

The cutest reminder ever that the way family works in TSAMS canon is that two parties have to be in mutual agreement that they are family. If one party doesn't agree then they aren't family. Parties can revoke familial ties whenever they want and that means they are no longer family.
"Code Relation" theory is stupid because you're then implying that Eclipse is Sun and Moon's child. Which he isn't. Or that Killcode is somehow Moon's child and his brother at the same time that he's Eclipse, Lunar and Bloodmoon's "father" at the same time that they're Sun and Moon's grand children. Like, we're seeing the issue here, right?
Don't make things more complicated than it has to be. Just accept the fact that family is literally determined by a verbal agreement between two animatronics and nothing else because none of them were born from wombs. That means respecting canon when characters in canon decide that they aren't comfortable being family (like Eclipse) or just straight-up disown everyone (like Bloodmoon). It's okay to have headcanons, but don't try to push them onto canon.

I agree with you! I've seen people call each other family-related titles when they aren't related! (Example: Brother, bro, sis, sister, etc.)
It doesn't have to be the canon way! That's why AUs exist! It's to imagine different worlds, "What ifs" and other things to experiment with!
I understand why people feel uncomfortable about the brother title; they think of actual brothers when people say these titles.
But hey, don't take it seriously because people use these titles in real life and it applies to characters in fictional media.
People bond in different ways! It's kind of problematic when people think of incest when they see friends treat each other like siblings or call each other sibling titles.
Names are used in different contexts and it's best to not jump to harsh conclusions when it irks you.
AU's don't have to be canon. If a person's content bothers you, then block and remove the content from your feed.
Also, headcanons are like personal views, don't attack people if their view doesn't match yours. Not everyone thinks like you.
You can dislike things and not be a jerk about it.
