I feel like I should clarify that when I'm talk about urban fantasy a la Ilona Andrews etc. I basically always use the classic definition of books or series (usually series) generally set in a contemporary urban setting with magic and/or supernatural/paranormal creatures and generally an investigative plotline.
Any suggestions for urban fantasy (a la Ilona Andrews, Julia Vee/Ken Bebelle, Seanan McGuire) with trans, sapphic, ace, and/or aro main characters?
#elumish asks#urban fantasy#the responses this has sparked made me realize that a lot of people seem to be using different definitions of urban fantasy than me#obviously they don't have to be set in a contemporary setting#but Fantasy Novel Set In A City#or Book With Supernatural Creatures Set In A City#isn't necessarily an Urban Fantasy Book by common usage of urban fantasy#and ilona andrews julia vee ken bebelle and seanan mcguire all live in the same type of urban fantasy
