Oh by original I meant YOUR original approach before your redraw- The original drawing YOU did I mean- Yes, I DO prefer the original designs, but that's...Kind of a given because of the fact one seeks out fanart regarding the game looks for different interpretations of the media they're familiar with-

And fine, I'll refer to "semi realism" instead then. Apologies for this, I generally use the "anime" as a branched term to describe more anatomically proportionate designs, yet stylised, versions of non humanistic characters- I'll use the terminology correct in the future.

Sometimes I have some favorites too, that one "recent" redraw had its charm before, I would do it how I did some years ago, but I was like "I colored them so nicely, I don't want to ruin that by making it monochromatic" anfjahf

There's also the thing that I started going farther than what the game is, I call it "my canon" for this exact reason, so there will be things that are very close to the game and others that will be straight up insanity, and designs also got more complicate with references to real fashion or outfits, like how Mimi wears only dresses and skirts, she should give this 50s or 60s vibe (I fail at this because I love to draw exxagerated and old timey clothes), Dimentio is a mix between 18th century and that other era with that things in the neck that I forgot the name, and O'Chunks is based on a samurai! This is actually canon! So I gave him accessories that would look like something a samurai would wear, like the shoulder things, but also trying to keep the gladiator theme he clearly has.

And I do understand the anime thing, I used to think the same, but as a person that liked manga and anime before, I saw a difference between some styles and the usual form of drawing something with the intention of looking like Asian animation and comics, simpler noses, big, big eyes, very thin lips or no lips at all, and sadly, not much diversity of faces and body types, it's basically always meant to be appealing and that's kinda lame... But of course, every "bad" thing has its good side, I can't say that anime inspired style, being it intentional or not, is ugly and unacceptable, a lot of art makes me amazed with all the details, artistic choices, lighting, beautiful eyes, great comporal and facial expressions, and a lot more! But I also have so much hatred for the genshin design pattern for pure "uuugh, this is so made just for marketing, why are these designs so damn complicated and they still don't communicate anything??" like, there IS art there, I won't lie, but what are those outfits???? Anfjahf

That all depends on when u ask me but right now it’s probably My Hero Academia.

2: Has an anime ever made you cry?

A better question for me would be which anime hasn’t made me cry. I cry at everything, dude. Probably the one that’s made me cry the hardest and most often would be Hakuouki. Starting from the last episode of s1 pretty much every other episode makes me cry.

3: Which anime made you laugh the hardest?

D. Gray Man was actually really funny.

4: If you could make a spin-off of any anime, what would it be?

A spin-off of My Hero Academia about the adult heroes please I’d literally kill for that.

Nah. I’m too busy haha. I’ve gotten through My Hero Academia in like three days before but that’s the fastest I’ve gotten through an anime.

Gaara from Naruto, Sugawara from Haikyuu, maybe 13 from My Hero Academia?? Idk bro how do u expect me to pick just one. How about John Brown from Ghost Hunt that boy is such a doll.

Serizawa from Hakuouki. And the Beast Titan from AoT that guy can frick right off tbh. Ooh how about Leverier from DGM.

I’m starting to feel like a tape recorder man I just keep saying the same three or four anime. Those are the ones I would most recommend rn but um...lemme recc some others I like so I can at least pretend that I have interesting and diverse tastes (a lie).

Don’t think I’ve ever watched one but I don’t really understand the term so maybe I have and I just don’t know it. But I doubt it.

12: What is your favorite romance anime?

Hnnn I feel like I keep saying the same like four anime for everything but I don’t watch a lot of these genres so my choices are pretty limited. Either Hakuouki or- can I say Fushigi Yuugi? Even tho I only watched one or two episodes (I read it) it’s definitely one of my fave romance manga. I also really liked Ore Monogatari BUT I’VE ONLY SEEN THREE EPISODES so I can’t really say it for certain.

13: What is your favorite comedy anime?

I don’t really watch comedy anime, just anime with comedy in them *shrug emoji* I don’t really like specifically comedy shows. They’re usually stupid. And not funny. (At least most American comedies seem that way to me.)

One Piece, My Hero Academia, D. Gray Man, or Bleach.

Hakuouki, followed closely by Hiiro no Kakera. (But then, those are like the only two harem anime I’ve ever watched, so...)

Ecchi is...really not my thing. (Let’s NOT talk about that time I accidentally ended up on an episode of Kissxsis on Youtube while looking for something else and was very nearly scarred for life. EW.)

Haikyuu is a drama apparently. Or Hakuouki. I’m so boring omg. I don’t watch new things my dude I just continuously rewatch things I love. Ooh ooh no I know! Psycho Pass!! Such a good anime I really need to watch it again.

Don’t think I’ve ever watched one. They don’t really interest me.

One Piece!!!

Naruto! And not even the actual show. The first anime thing I ever watched was Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow.

Gaara from Naruto, Saito from Hakuouki, Sugawara from Haikyuu, Annie from Attack on Titan, Kira from Bleach, and Marco from One Piece.

Four! I fell so head-over-heels in love with My Hero Academy that I watched it four times. Once in Japanese and three times in English. 

24: Name [1] anime you wish everyone would watch

I really need to pick something else so Ghost Hunt! I love this anime so much I’m on my third watch BUT don’t ever ask me about the “end” of the anime unless u wanna listen to me scream in all caps for a really long time. Anyways I have literally no friends who know of it so instead my poor brother has to listen to me screech about how much I love it and about what an absolute angel John is. Sorry.

25: What is an anime you regret watching?

I dunno. I really only watch the anime of manga I’ve already read so I’m rarely trying something I don’t already know I like. 

26: You get to have [1] anime character as your waifu/husbando in real life, who do you choose?

John Brown from Ghost Hunt or Sugawara Koushi from Haikyuu. Literal lights of my life I love them so much it’s ridiculous. I think maybe I started to annoy my brother when we were watching Ghost Hunt together because I would do the Will Smith pose literally every single time John came onscreen.

27: Which anime character are you most like?

Physically I’m most like Krista or (I prefer to think) Annie from AoT. Personality-wise probably either Krista or I’m starting to realize that I relate a hell of a lot to Uraraka from My Hero Academia. Uncomfortably so.

28: Do you watch a new anime because you think it will be good, or because its popular?

Because I think it’ll be good. I actually decided against watching Haikyuu at first (despite initially being interested) because it was absolutely everywhere. Its huge popularity was actually kind of a turn off. But once I read a couple volumes of the manga I realized how good it was and just had to watch it. Same with My Hero Academia. No matter how many people liked it I didn’t start watching it until I’d read a few volumes and realized for myself how good it was. 

29: Has an anime's fanbase ever made you hesitant to watch an anime?

Yeah. I once debated watching Yuri on Ice but ehhhh. Fan base isn’t the only reason I’ve lost interest but it’s one of the reasons. And I’ll talk about this a little farther down but I also lost interest in DGM Hallow because the second half of the anime is about Alma and Kanda and the fandom’s obsession with Alma has gotten tiresome.

30: How many anime episodes is 'ideal' for you?

I’m of the opinion that the more, the merrier, but I think I’m in the minority. I could watch things like One Piece forever because I don’t want them to end, and I actually like filler episodes, but I know I’m totally alone in that regard. 25 is a pretty good number.

31: Have you ever watched an anime with over [23] episodes?

A couple!

One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach all number in the several hundreds; Ghost Hunt, Haikyuu s1 and s2 all at 25 (eVEN THO GHOST HUNT SHOULD’VE HAD LIKE 31). 

32: If you could make a game for an anime of your choice, what would it be and why?

A My Hero Academia fighting game kinda like the Naruto Ninja Storm games would be cool. Any game like the Ninja Storm games would be cool tbh. Alternatively, any anime but in a game like One Piece Pirate Carnival.

33: Would you ever watch an anime with over [100] episodes?

...One Piece, one of the loves of my life, is currently at 782 episodes if that tells you anything. 

34: Have you ever watched an anime only because you liked a specific character?

Sort of Haikyuu. My original interest was because I saw all sorts of fan art of Asahi and I adored him.

35: Have you ever dropped an anime, if so why?

I mean to finish them all at some point but I dropped Attack on Titan Junior High, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, and D. Gray Man Hallow. Oh, and I also dropped Free! and I’m not planning on picking that one back up. I dropped AoT Junior High because my interest in AoT was dying down at the time and people were starting to say negative things about the new episodes which made me lose interest even more. Idk anymore why I dropped Dusk Maiden. Hallow I just...idk. The first half is episodes I’m actually interested in but the second half is all about Alma and I don’t care about him. Free! just...didn’t hold my interest. I don’t know what my opinion would be now but then I watched the first episode and the dramatic stripping and stuff just made me laugh. I couldn’t take it seriously. 

36: In your opinion, what makes a good anime?

Consistent characterization. Adherence to the manga //side eyes AoT// although sometimes differences can be excused. GOOD. MUSIC. If I watch an opening every single time without skipping it you have done something very right. And I’m kind of picky about voicing. I dunno if I’d still feel the same now but I remember trying to watch the Fruits Basket anime and I couldn’t in either English or Japanese cause I hated the voicing.

Haikyuu, My Hero Academia, One Piece, Attack on Titan, Soul Eater...

38: Name a popular anime you hate

Yuri on Ice, I guess. Idk. It’s literally everywhere and it’s getting annoying.

39: Is there an anime you wish was more popular?

Hakuouki. Omg. This anime is so good but practically nobody knows it. (Although I’m happy to say that it has a very loyal, active, and talented fan base on dA like bless them for existing honestly.) I picked the first season up at a library completely on a whim and not to be dramatic but it was one of the best impulse decisions I’ve ever made.

40: Thoughts on live-action adaptations?

Japan seems to do a pretty good job adapting anime. America does...not so good if the opinions on Ghost in the Shell and the upcoming Death Note adaption are anything to judge by. I haven’t seen hardly any adaptions myself tho so I can’t really say. I did see the first Haikyuu stage play and it was incredible. The trailer for the third Death Note movie kinda blew my mind and the bits and pieces I’ve seen of the Rurouni Kenshin movies looked good. I watched the trailer for the first AoT adaption and other than something about the CGI Titans feeling a little off that looked good, too. I think maybe we should just let Japan adapt their own stuff lol they seem to have a good handle on it.
