On the one hand, this character has transgender vibes and I want to give them a cool gender. On the other hand, these so-called "vibes" are really just impressions based in sexism, racism, and even transphobia. The only solution? Headcanon every character as transgender.
#fandom#trans#headcanons#racism#sexism#transgender#trans headcanon#i do think it's really important to periodically analyze your headcanons for this#a lot of it boils down to#is there a corrolation between a man being less masculine and you thinking they're trans/genderqueer?#like. do you think Asian guys are trans more often. do you keep calling short men 'girlfriend coded'.#I said this#and there are less female characters so it's harder to see a trend#but i can imagine a number of pitfalls there: headcanoning Black women as trans more often than white women.#thinking a tomboy has to be transmasc. again - basically just is this women really just not conformting to white feminity?#do I make the same headcanons for women who are feminine and white?#see cuz of course trans people exist in all demographics. it's about whether you're seeing some demographics as inherently more 'gnc'
