what a "morally gray" character actually is: someone who does morally questionable things, someone who takes actions that would incite a debate on the ethics of those actions, someone whose morals are not absolute but situational based on what will achieve the best outcome

what tumblr thinks "morally gray" characters are: bad people who are three-dimensional characters, bad people with sympathetic backstories, bad people who think they're doing the right thing, bad people who redeem themselves and become better people, bad people who have also done good things in their life, bad people who just have a cool vibe or something idk they seem nice y'know?
