also like. in an ideal world everyone would be an artist
#you don't need specialized skills to help w most chores#making art is human nature. you do your work and then you make art#i'm v tired of this surge of anti-intellectualism that's indistinguishable from right-wing contempt for art and literature#posts like that are always framed as if you would only do ur One Thing + nothing else bc that's how careers are structured under capitalism#but like. no one would have a ''career'' if capitalism no longer existed. you'd do all sorts of things. whatever needed doing.#ironically enough the only ''careers'' that would need to exist would be skilled craftsmanship#i mean i find those posts annoying anyway bc the majority of people are perfectly capable of contributing even without specialized skills#and if they're not capable i guess we just kill them? it's not like our ancestors cared for the disabled and elderly or anything
