Which Players Hit The Longest Sixes In IPL?
Tumblr media
With its high-scoring matches and explosive sixes, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has completely redefined T20 cricket. Hitting sixes has become crucial in T20 cricket, both for entertaining fans and for making fast runs. These days, every team looks for power hitters who can win the game with a few clutch hits. Many hard-hitting hitters have wowed audiences by hitting some incredible sixes during the past 17 seasons. Furthermore, the presence of power hitters who can knock massive sixes with ease adds interest to competitions like the Indian Premier League. Fans find it exciting, and it gives the opposing bowler and teams a fear of losing.
Players With The Longest Sixes In IPL History
Nothing in the IPL’s fast-paced environment gets the fans going like the Longest Sixes in IPL. These massive shots that soar beyond the boundary perfectly capture the excitement and amusement that T20 cricket is known for. Fans all across the globe love six-hitting because of the tremendous strength, timing, and daring needed to knock the ball out of the park. Moreover, the frequency of sixes struck in the IPL is increasing with each season, and batsmen are taking greater chances to score huge runs. When it comes to six-hitting, records are always being broken. And with good reason - batsmen are growing more powerful and daring by hitting incredible maximums.
Albie Morkel’s 125-Meter Six in IPL 2008
In the inaugural season, Albie Morkel established the record for the longest six in IPL history. Morkel hit a massive 125-meter six off Pragyan Ojha's delivery while playing for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) against the Deccan Chargers. Even after sixteen seasons, his record has not been surpassed. He is really the only player in the IPL to reach the 125-meter barrier, making it one of the most epic cricket highlights in IPL history. Fans still remember Morkel's blazing blow against RCB, when he scored 28 runs off an over from Virat Kohli.
Praveen Kumar’s 124-Meter Six in IPL 2011
The second-longest six in IPL history is held by Praveen Kumar, who made an unexpected entry to the list. He is more known for his bowling, but when he played for Punjab Kings against the Mumbai Indians, he stunned spectators by hitting a 124-meter six. The ball flew far away after Lasith Malinga's delivery, which resulted in this six.
Adam Gilchrist’s 122-Meter Six in IPL 2011
One of the best international hitters in the IPL, Adam Gilchrist, hit a 122-meter six for the Punjab Kings against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gilchrist, who was well-known for his powerful swing, blasted a Charl Langeveldt delivery flying over the mid-wicket area. He already predicted the bowler's slower one and quickly decided he had to send the ball out of the beautiful Dharmashala stadium. Then, over midwicket, he performed one of his trademark flips. The ball not only crossed the ropes but also exited the stadium and probably ended out on the plains.
Robin Uthappa’s 120-Meter Six in IPL 2010
Dwayne Bravo has been one of the Indian T20 League's most accomplished and effective death-overs bowlers over the last 15 years. However, he was hit by one of the most powerful blows in the history of the competition. In the 2010 season, Robin Uthappa hit the fourth-longest six in IPL history, measuring 120 meters. In a match against the Mumbai Indians, Uthappa, who plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore, smashed a big six off a ball from Dwayne Bravo. At the Wankhede Stadium, Robin Uthappa spotted a length ball on the stumps early and whacked it so hard that it vanished into the crowd.
Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, and Ross Taylor’s 119-Meter Sixes in IPL
Chris Gayle, Yuvraj Singh, and Ross Taylor are the three players who have reached the 119-meter milestone in IPL history. In a 2013 match against Pune Warriors India, Gayle accomplished this feat while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore by hitting Ali Murtaza for a six that flew over the roof at Chinnaswamy Stadium. When the Punjab Kings played the Chennai Super Kings in 2009, Yuvraj Singh smashed his 119-meter six. He dispatched a long-on delivery from Albie Morkel. In 2008, while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Ross Taylor hit a six off Jacob Oram that was 119 meters long and sent the ball over the deep mid-wicket boundary.

"Love To Look At Things In Positive Manner": Sanju Samson Ahead Of ICC T20 WC 2024 Opener
Ahead of their opener against Ireland in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson said that he positively looks at things while reflecting on failures and successes in his career.
Samson, who made his international debut in 2014 in a T20I match, has had ups and downs, having played just 25 T20Is and 16 ODIs for India over the last decade.
His T20 stats have been disappointing as he has scored just 374 runs at an average of 18.70 with one half-century. a strike rate of 133.09 and the best score of 77.
Samson has made his way into the T20 WC squad after a career-best Indian Premier League (IPL) which helped take Rajasthan Royals (RR) to the playoffs. He scored 531 runs at an average of 48.27 and a strike rate of 153.46, with five half-centuries. His best score was 86*.
The Kerala-born cricketer asserted that at the time when a cricketer is young and successful, he tries to skip a few lessons.
"I love to look at things in a more positive manner. If it's a failure or setback, you learn through it. When you are young and successful, you skip a few lessons. I am blessed with my talent, which comes naturally to me as a batter" Samson said in a video posted by BCCI.
The 29-year-old further stated that right from the moment he arrived in the United States, he had taken out all the things regarding Indian Premier which is in his mind.
"Right from the moment I landed here, IPL has been away from my mind. I tell myself that I am somewhere where people dream of going. Then I was like, what else do I need to do? Mentally I did not have to motivate myself. Things happen automatically. When you meet Rohit and Virat, you get inspired and there is no looking back. How can Sanju help India win more games, what it is like to be a WC player for India? I am very grateful for the support wherever I go," the wicketkeeper added.
In the end, Samson said that he loves to change and adapt according to the conditions.
"The biggest lesson as a cricketer and human is that the change is constant. You cannot say that this is the only way to play. I love to change and adapt as per conditions. You can't be the same Sanju Samson," the right-hand batter concluded.
India will start their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland at the newly constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan will take place on June 9. India will later play tournament co-hosts USA (June 12) and Canada (June 15) to wrap up their Group A matches.
In the tournament, India will be aiming to end their ICC trophy drought, having last won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013. Since then, India has reached the 50-over World Cup final in 2023, semifinal in 2015 and 2019, the title clash of the ICC World Test Championship in 2021 and 2023, T20 WC final in 2014, semifinals in 2016 and 2022 but failed to secure a big ICC trophy.

RR s RCB : IPL 2024 Eliminator Expected Lineup Live Toss, 100% Prediction & Which Team Will Win?
The following is a look at the Playing XI predictions, head-to-head statistics, venue records, pitch, and weather updates for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 Eliminator match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Tumblr media
Match Preview
A match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers is taking place today in Bengaluru. On Wednesday, a crucial Indian Premier League eliminator will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The match will be between the high-flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), captained by Faf du Plessis, and the Rajasthan Royals, who are battling under the leadership of Sanju Samson.
At one point, it seemed as if the Royals were going to finish in first place in the league stage. However, after suffering a series of four losses and a washout in their last match against KKR, Sanju Samson's team ended up in third place, with Sunrisers Hyderabad being the team that finished ahead of them. In contrast, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has clawed its way back from the verge of elimination in a remarkable manner. Following a string of seven consecutive defeats in their first eight matches of the season, the team captained by Faf du Plessis went on an incredible run, and only a few nights ago, they eventually defeated the reigning champions, the Chennai Super Kings, to secure a spot in the playoffs.
RR vs RCB: Pitch Report
Narendra Modi Stadium's surface is fair and equal, designed to accommodate the abilities of all different kinds of players. There is a possibility that the wicket could begin to show signs of wear as the season comes to a close, which may provide the spinners with a little extra help.

Check Out The Lowest Team Totals In IPL
Tumblr media
In the Indian Premier League, bowlers have sometimes surpassed hitters despite the league's reputation for rapid scoring and big runs. Over the 16-year history of the competition, bowling attacks have destroyed star-studded batting lineups. The notorious record for the lowest score in IPL history belongs to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). When they were eliminated for just 49 runs in 9.4 overs against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on April 23, 2017, they smashed the previous record of 58 runs set by the Rajasthan Royals against the RCB itself in Cape Town in 2009. The lowest IPL 2024 total was that of the Gujarat Titans. The lowest score GT has ever had in IPL history was just 89 runs in 17.3 overs. Rashid Khan was the top scorer with 31 runs. Furthermore, in 2.3 overs, Delhi's Mukesh Kumar grabbed 3/14. Let's see which is the lowest score in IPL ever.
Royal Challengers Bangalore - 49 runs (vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Kolkata 2017)
As far as IPL scores go, Royal Challengers Bengaluru holds the record. At Eden Gardens in 2017, RCB made the lowest score in IPL against the Kolkata Knight Riders and went on to make history. With 131 runs in 19.3 overs, KKR won this low-scoring match. The score was below average, despite RCB being the favorites going into the chase. Prior to the match, RCB was the overwhelming favorite, and the score was below average. However, the second inning was even worse. As the KKR bowlers dominated the RCB, no batter reached double digits. RCB lost the game with just 49 runs in 9.4 overs. Kedar Jadhav was their top scorer with nine runs.
Rajasthan Royals - 58 runs (vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Cape Town 2009)
Just nine runs short of the lowest-ever IPL total, the Rajasthan Royals made the second-lowest team overall. When they participated in the 2009 competition against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, they had it. It was only the second game of the season in Cape Town. To start things off, RCB won the toss and batted first. RCB likewise got off to a sluggish start, scoring only three runs from their top three. They reached 133/8 in 20 overs with 66 off 48 from Rahul Dravid. Rajasthan was knocked out for just 58 runs in 17.1 overs, with leg-spinner Anil Kumble taking a wicket for just five runs in 3.1 overs. Except for Yusuf Pathan, Tyron Henderson, and Yusuf Pathan, who each scored 11, none of their batters reached double digits. Rahul Dravid won the game by 75 runs thanks to his 66 off 48 deliveries, earning him the title of Man of the Match.
Rajasthan Royals - 59 runs (vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, Jaipur 2023)
The third-lowest cricket score in IPL history occurred during the 2023 season. The season's 60th game between the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru took place in Jaipur. In IPL history, the 2023 season had the third-lowest score. The 60th game of the season was contested in Jaipur between the Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Batting first, RCB reached a challenging 171/5. While attempting to score, both RR openers were unsuccessful. Only Shimron Hetmyer (35) and Joe Root (10) reached double figures, and without Hetmyer, the Royals may have had the lowest IPL total ever. Despite just playing 10.3 overs and scoring 59 runs, they were defeated by 112 runs. Wayne Parnell's three overs saw him take three wickets for 10.

Time: 8:00 PM IST
Venue: Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore
The Fourth Thriller: Lahore's T20 Match Between Pakistan and New Zealand
The highly anticipated fourth T20 clash between Pakistan and New Zealand (PAK vs NZ) is marking its presence on April 25th 2024 in the city of Lahore with the series standings tied at 11. Following two riveting contests in Rawalpindi this upcoming fixture holds the promise of being a thrilling affair under the influence of multiple critical determinants.
Pakistan's Opener-Heavy Batting Strategy
Pakistans batting success revolves around the performance of openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan renowned for their consistent establishment of strong partnerships. A key factor lies in their skills to handle the initial swing phase crucial for setting up a competitive team score.
The Bowling Depth of New Zealand
Despite the absence of key players in the IPL the bowling strength of New Zealand stands out. Spinners Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi together with pacers Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne are well placed to capitalize on the late turning conditions of the Lahore pitch.
The bowling attack of Pakistan
Pakistan's bowling prowess spearheaded by the fiery Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf is all geared up to give New Zealand's top batting lineup a solid challenge. How they excel at delivering slower balls during the crucial death overs and the crafty left arm spin of Mohammad Nawaz could play a defining role in breaking key partnerships.
New Zealand's Striking Ability
New Zealand boasts a formidable batting lineup anchored by seasoned campaigners such as Martin Guptill Kane Williamson and Glenn Phillips. The teams prowess in efficiently rotating the strike and capitalizing on loose deliveries will play a pivotal role in their pursuit of challenging substantial targets.
Home Advantage of Pakistan
Playing amidst the bustling streets of Lahore Pakistan the team will delight in the unwavering passion exuded by their dedicated home crowd and the reassuring embrace of the familiar pitch conditions potentially propelling them to a competitive advantage.
New Zealand's Adaptability
New Zealand is renowned for its adeptness at handling pressure situations. Their proficiency in chasing targets in T20 matches is exemplary showcasing their seasoned approach to navigating tense encounters.
Prediction
It's hard to call this contest. With their respective advantages and disadvantages, the two teams are evenly matched. Here are two scenarios that could occur:
Scenario 1: India Triumphs
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan orchestrated a remarkable opening partnership showcasing their synergy and cricketing prowess. Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf unleashed havoc on New Zealands top order establishing early dominance for Pakistan. Mohammad Nawazs spin expertise in the pivotal middle overs played a pivotal role in steering Pakistan towards a triumphant victory.
Scenario 2: New Zealand Wins
Following a promising start by Pakistan's opening batsmen their middle order encountered difficulties restricting them to a modest total. In reply New Zealand's opening pair comprised of Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson established a strong platform.
The late innings contribution of Glenn Phillips injected excitement driving New Zealand to a thrilling victory by a narrow margin securing a 21 advantage in the series.
Who is going to prevail?
The team that handles pressure expertly and minimizes errors is positioned for success in this riveting edge of your seat clash to be decided solely by the final delivery.

Rishabh Pant Enjoys First Nets Session In Indian jersey After 16 Months, Gears Up For T20 WC
Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had his first nets session for Team India after at least 16 months, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup opener against Ireland, scheduled for June 5.
The ICC T20 World Cup will be played in the West Indies and the USA from June 1 to 29. The Men in Blue will also play Bangladesh in their only warm-up game on June 1 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Pant, who returned to competitive cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year following a life-threatening road accident in December 2022, will be making his much-awaited return to the blue colours of the Indian jersey.
In the recently concluded IPL 2024, Rishabh's team Delhi Capitals finished in the sixth spot with seven wins, seven losses and 14 points and failed to move to playoffs. He scored 446 runs in 13 matches at a strike rate of over 155 with three half-centuries and emerged as the team's top run-getter.
Pant looked in great shape while practicing, having lost a lot of weight, and sported a much leaner look ahead of the tournament.
In a video posted by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Pant said, "This is one thing I missed a lot (practicing with the Indian team and playing for them). Getting back on the field with the Indian jersey on, it is a different feel altogether and this is something I missed a lot. I think seeing the teammates and meeting them again, spending time, having fun with them, enjoying having conversations, really enjoying it."
Pant said that playing in the USA is a different prospect and it has opened a whole new channel for the sport.
"We are used to playing in certain countries but this is a different prospect. It has opened up a different channel for sport because I feel cricket is growing around the world and getting in a country like the US and getting the exposure here would be nice for cricket as well as USA cricket I guess," he said.
He said he is getting used to the conditions and the sun shines a little brighter here in the US and there are new pitches.
"So just getting used to conditions over here and let us see how it goes. Hopefully, I make it count and make it more better from here," he concluded.
In seven T20 WC matches and five innings, he has scored 87 runs at an average of 21.75 across 2021 and 2022 editions, with the best score of 39.
India will start their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland at the newly constructed Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Meanwhile, the most-awaited blockbuster clash between India and Pakistan will take place on June 9. They will later play tournament co-hosts USA (June 12) and Canada (June 15) to wrap up their Group A matches.
India will be aiming to win their first T20 WC title since they won the inaugural edition of the tournament back in 2007 in South Africa. In the last edition held in Australia in 2022, India lost to England by 10 wickets in the semifinals.
India squad: Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj
