Queen Camilla’s Patronages
Scotland’s Gardens Scheme (President from 12.09.2005)
Scotland’s Gardens raise funds for worthy charities by working with garden owners and facilitating the opening of gardens of horticultural interest throughout Scotland to thousands of visitors each year.
Many of Scotland’s most remarkable and beautiful gardens, normally inaccessible to the public, open thus enabling people to spend memorable days visiting them. Teas, generally homemade, a plant stall and other attractions are usually available. The Scotland’s Gardens’ Guidebook is published every year and provides full information on gardens participating in the programme as well as much more. Investec Wealth & Investment are proud sponsors of the directory. 40% of funds raised goes to charities nominated by the garden owners whilst 60% is distributed to: - Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres - The Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland - The Gardens Fund of the National Trust for Scotland - Perennial

Pompa Funebris, 2023
Soil, ash, ochre and oxides on canvas

Art work featured in Reservioir’s ALT Section booth at this year’s Investec Cape Town Art Fair.
...
A funeral procession, conducted for aristocrats or nobles, is an ancient Roman ritual. Deceased figures of political or religious significance would be paraded through the streets for the collective grief of the nation prior to the burial. The mapped routes of these processions were usually strategic, its memorial aims were commemorative entertainment with elements of performance to involve attending crowds.
Using ash, oxides and ochres on black soil collected in the Gaansbaai mountains, Pompa Funebris suggests a disfigured view of the present South African political landscape – muddied by a tragic colonial history, the houses of parliament burned, the glitter of its gold dimmed, the blue of its seas blackened. Through the title I wanted to play on the pomp funeral costume dictated by this procession tradition, while invoking elements of colour and the triangle design from the South African flag.
The vertical lines on the twin canvas panels also echo the custom dictates of rich dress; in the robing of the ecclesiastic fashion, often a long garment wrapped over the chest and tied at the waist. Here the triangular centre of this three-piece flag reminds me of a robe collar, one side crossing over the other; while making further reference to the current South African flag in the black triangle converging in parallel black, green, white and red colour bands. I am interested in the robe quality of this work, and further attracted to the tension between garment and flag, body and land.

Dixon Tech shares slide 4% despite solid Q2, brokerages bullish
Dixon remains optimistic about its long-term growth, expecting mobile to be the largest revenue driver, followed by IT hardware.
Shares of Dixon Technologies declined over 4 percent to Rs 14,230 in morning trade on October 25 despite the company delivering a robust performance in the second quarter of FY25. This prompted bullish brokerage calls, suggesting that the mobile segment, in particular, is seen as a major growth driver, alongside IT hardware and backward integration.
During the quarter, Dixon reported a 263 percent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 412 crore while its revenue from operations increased to Rs 11,534.08 crore.
Brokerages like Investec and Nomura have responded positively to Dixon’s Q2 results. Investec raised its target price to Rs 15,900 from Rs 12,700, maintaining a 'buy' rating. The brokerage attributed the strong performance to a significant ramp-up in mobile revenues and continued to see IT hardware as a promising growth opportunity for the company. Dixon's foray into components manufacturing is also expected to bolster its competitive edge and profitability in the long term.
Similarly, Nomura issued a 'buy' call on Dixon Technologies, setting a target price of Rs 18,654 per share. The brokerage noted that Q2 exceeded expectations, particularly in the mobile segment. Nomura raised its estimates for FY25-27 by up to 10 percent and anticipates Dixon to produce 4 crore smartphones by FY27. IT hardware, along with Dixon’s focus on component manufacturing, is seen as a key factor that will drive growth, with full benefits expected to materialize from FY27 onwards. The government’s focus on stricter import monitoring is also expected to work in Dixon’s favor.

[ad_1] Source ( LET) New Delhi, October 10, 2024:* The current Ladies European Tour Order of Merit leader, Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland, heads a strong field for Hero Women’s Indian Open 2024, which will be held from October 24-27 at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. The region’s premier event, offering a total purse of US$ 400,000, will witness the return of nine players who secured spots within the Top 10 during the 2023 edition. The international field will face a formidable challenge from the strong Indian contingent, comprising Diksha Dagar, who secured third place last year, and Gaurika Bishnoi, who finished eighth. The three former champions in the field are Christine Wolf (2019), Camille Chevalier (2017) and Caroline Hedwall (2011). The field is further bolstered by the participation of several notable players, including Trichat Cheenglab of Thailand, the winner of the 2023 Order of Merit. Another former OOM winner, Lee Anne Pace of South Africa, who claimed the LET top spot in 2010, will also be competing. Additionally, the 2010 winner, Caroline Hedwall, who received the honour of Players Player of the Year in 2011, will be present. Swiss golfer Tamburlini is making waves in the world of golf as an exciting prospect. During her rookie year, she achieved remarkable individual success claiming two victories: Joburg Ladies Open in April and the Lacoste Open de France just two weeks ago. Most recently, Tamburlini showcased her leadership skills as she guided her team to victory at the Aramco Team Series Shenzhen, securing the team honours. The Hero Women’s Indian Open, established in 2007, anticipates a formidable challenge from Indian participants who aim to capitalize on their remarkable performance in the 2023 edition, where three Indian golfers secured positions within the top 10. Among the top ten Indian finishers in 2023, Diksha, a two-time winner on LET, and Gaurika Bishnoi, a multiple winner on the Hero WPG Tour in India, are notable. Additionally, amateur Avani Prashanth, who tied for fifth place last year, also made the list. Avani, who has previously competed numerous times as an amateur, returns to her beloved event for the first time as a professional. She has been bestowed the honour of a special invitation to the event, where she will make her professional debut. A lot of winners from the ongoing 2024 season have confirmed their entries. They include a talented duo from England: Alice Hewson (VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open winner), and Amy Taylor (Ladies Italian Open victor). Also joining the field are Perrine Delacour from France (Dormy Open Helsingborg), Belgium’s Manon De Roey (Investec SA Women’s Open champion), and Shannon Tan from Singapore (Magical Kenya Ladies Open champion). The seven-time LET winner, Caroline Hedwall, who won last in 2022 at Andalucia Costa Del Sol in Spain, is one of the most prominent returnees, having won the event in her rookie year in 2011. She has since then finished runner-up three times – in 2012 (to Pornanong Phatlum), 2018 (tied second with 3 others) and 2022 (tied second with India’s Amandeep Drall). Hedwall, who has also played the Solheim Cup, calls Hero Women’s Indian Open title as one of her favourite events, one of the four wins she had in her rookie year in 2011. While Hedwall won once and was runner-up three other times, Christine Wolf was T-2 in 2018 and then won in 2019. A number of players in this field will be looking to snatch their first Hero Women’s Indian Open title after having finished runner-up in the past. Other players in the field who have finished second or tied second but never won include Sara Kjellker (2023), Amandeep Drall (2022), Marianne Skarpnord (2019), Michelle Thompson (2017) and Hannah Burke (2014).
