Stumbled across the musical group Rondo Veneziano entirely by accident, but I've found a few songs I like. This is one of their slower ones, so I thought it might feel more appropriate for the winter season. Hope you enjoy.

"Native Americans across Indian Country shared mixed emotions this week after President Biden apologized for the U.S. government’s role in running Native American boarding schools across the country.
During the 150-year practice, at more than 400 schools where the U.S. partnered with various religious institutions, Indigenous children were separated from their families and stripped of their language and customs in an effort to assimilate into white culture. There were also documented cases of abuse and death.
Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, who is a member of the Laguna Pueblo tribe and has been instrumental in bringing these issues to a wider audience through her Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative, applauded Biden’s move.
“I'm so grateful to [Biden] for acknowledging this terrible era of our nation's past,” Haaland, whose grandparents were taken to boarding schools, posted on X.
ederal Indian boarding schools have impacted every Indigenous person I know. These were places where children - including my grandparents - were traumatized. I'm so grateful to @POTUS for acknowledging this terrible era of our nation's past.
“I would never have guessed in a million years that something like this would happen,” she told the Associated Press.
At the Gila Crossing Community School near Phoenix, Biden celebrated Haaland’s historic role and apologized today for America’s “sin.”
“It’s an honor, a genuine honor … to right a wrong, to chart a new path,” he said. “I formally apologize as president of the United States of America for what we did. I formally apologize. It’s long overdue.”
However, Indigenous leaders and citizens across the country stressed that this is only the first step.
“This is one of the most historic days in the history of Indian Country, and an apology of this size must be followed by real action,” Nick Tilsen, who belongs to the Oglala Lakota Nation and is president and CEO of the Indigenous rights organization NDN Collective, told Yahoo News.
Tilsen believes that there are specific, actionable steps that need to accompany any apology. For him, that means passing the U.S. Truth and Healing Commission bill in Congress, rescinding medals of honor for those who participated in the Battle of Wounded Knee, releasing “longest living Indigenous political prisoner in American history Leonard Peltier, who is also a boarding school survivor” and “unprecedented investment in Indigenous languages and education.”
Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation Chuck Hoskin celebrated the move, calling out Haaland’s role in particular, and echoed the sentiment of following any apology with action.
“The [Department of the Interior’s] recommendations, especially in the preservation of Native languages and the repatriation of ancestors and cultural items, can be a path toward true healing,” Hoskin said in a statement.
While many Indigenous leaders are calling for action, Tilsen stressed that this is also a time to hold boarding school survivors and their families close.
“At this moment in history, we have to remember many of the survivors of the boarding schools are still alive,” he said. “It's in every household and it's in every community. And it's directly tied to the struggles that our people have today.”
Dylan Rose Goodwill, who is Diné (Navajo), Hunkpapa Lakota and Sisseton Wahpeton Dakota, was visiting Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, Calif., on Thursday when she heard the news about Biden’s forthcoming apology. It’s a place that is part of her family history, as her grandmother (or másáni) was sent there when it served as a federally run Native boarding school.
She told Yahoo News that hearing the news there was “complicated.”
As the senior assistant director of undergraduate admissions at the University of Southern California, Goodwill was visiting the school as a college recruiter.
“I've always had these kinds of mixed feelings because it's been weird to be the admission counselor for the schools that my own grandparents attended,” she said.
“It was already a tough morning to go and then to receive the news on site was really a mixture of feelings because I felt anger mostly, where it was like disbelief that this was happening, excitement that at least it was happening, but also feeling like this isn't enough,” Goodwill added.
Sitting where her grandmother sat in the 1930s and '40s, Goodwill asked herself, “What is that gonna really hold for her now? She passed in '04.”
Biden’s statement comes 16 years after former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper apologized for Canada’s role in the Indigenous residential school system — a topic filmmakers Julian Brave NoiseCat and Emily Kassie document in their film Sugarcane, about St. Joseph’s Mission School near the Sugarcane reserve in British Columbia.
NoiseCat is a member of the Canim Lake Band Tsq’escen and a descendant of the Lil’wat Nation of Mount Currie and whose grandmother attended the Catholic Church-run residential school and gave birth to his father there. He told Yahoo News that this moment was important for a “continentwide conversation about what happened to Native families and Native children at Native American boarding schools and Indian residential schools.”
Joining Biden and Haaland for the event on the Gila River Indian Reservation along with Kassie, NoiseCat continued, “The fact that the president has chosen to formally apologize to survivors and their families is a real testament to the significance of this story, which needs to be understood as a foundational story to North America.”
However, Kassie echoed that actionable steps must follow sentiment.
“As momentous and important as this day is, it's important that it's followed up with action,” she told Yahoo. “It's important that the records of what happened at these institutions that are held by the U.S. government and the Catholic Church are opened to Indigenous communities who are looking for answers. And it's important that those communities also have the opportunity to hold to account those institutions and individuals who abused them.”
For Tilsen, it’s also a time to “center the survivors.”
“As we sort of politically dissect this moment,” he said, “I also want to recognize the pain that is being resurfaced, and that our people deserve the right to have pain and they deserve the right to have rage in this moment while we lean towards moving forward in action.”
NoiseCat, who has a deeply personal connection to the residential school history, said, “I'm probably going to call my dad today after the apology and just check in with him.”

Meet the supporting cast from Trolls World Tour and Trollstopia. It took me long to draw them all since I missed someone out so here they are.
Rhythm and Blues are a pair of human-sized living voodoo dolls who love to make inventions and experiment. The twins themselves are always in sync and they have a great relationship, even though they tend to disagree and have tensions, something that Satin and Chenille were jealous of and admit in a good way. Even though they can transfer injuries or death to their targets using the pins that Blues keeps on her hair or detach their parts that cause their targets to die or lose a limb, the twins have their own unique ability. Both twins can hurt anyone who is close to them or whose item they are in possession of, but Rhythm can make her target suffer through transferral or detaching by looking at them while Blues can track the target through her mind.
Gore-geously wrapped and draped in gold, Minuet Sonata is a mummy. Like her species, Minuet has riches and a large collection of enchanted items that she can use to help her friends in scaring the socks out of humans. She is also an experienced musician and singer that she can master different kinds of instruments and very prim and proper. Despite that, she doesn't want others to forget about their passions, their interests and hobbies, or generally stop being who they are, and is supportive of them. She just demands every monster or human should respect and be decent towards each other, including herself, a trait that got her together with her zing, Blaze Powerchord.
Not much was known about Dante’s younger brother Forte Crescendo but he is an open-minded mothman who loves to explore different kinds of music, especially techno music when he first met Synth. All in all, he loves his brother inside and out.
Curious and studious Laguna Tidepool is a sea monster who is intellectual and a little nerdy, enjoying studying through observation and writing her observations but this doesn’t stop her from joining in the rave and party all night. All in all, Laguna is a friendly and positive gillman who enjoys making new friends and learning new things.
Bliss Marina is a fashionable gillman with an enthusiasm for music. Sassy and impatient, she loves all the trends and is the social scene queen of the monster world, but she also idolizes other social influencers but if angered, she becomes a rampaging, chomping monster when in shark mode.
Sly and dashing werefox Gust Tumbleweed, he plays by the rules, which are rather complex, but work well. He is laid-back and serious, but rather relaxed at times, although he react very differently to his normal self, becoming almost his complete opposite. He also has a sense of slight goofiness to his otherwise serious nature. He often finds it difficult to resist temptations and is not so keen on defeat but it’s a good thing he has his friends to help him overcome it, especially his zing, Val Thundershock.
Get ready for a next batch so stay tuned, ghouls and mansters!

25th Anniversary
Faye Wong: Eyes On Me (1999.02.24)
While I'm not much of a gamer now, I used to play video games a lot when I was in grade school, and my top two favorite game franchises of all time also reflect two of my favorite video game soundtracks of all time: the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy, composed by Stewart Copeland (and famously, tragically, never officially released in either physical or digital format until very recently), and Final Fantasy VIII, composed by the prolific Nobuo Uematsu, who wrote the music for the Final Fantasy franchise in whole or in part through Final Fantasy XI.
Besides the gorgeous orchestral arrangements that make up the bulk of the soundtrack's sprawling four discs, there was also a notable vocal version of the central love theme. The central romantic story line in FFVIII was a notable game-changer for many young people who might not have found any reason to play video games before, bringing in many new players who would grow up to help expand the demand for alternative gaming, so its importance cannot be understated. The love theme between the characters Squall and Rinoa (and Laguna and Julie/Raine) was sung by ultra-popular Hong Kong-native Faye Wong, one of the most well-known figures in Asian pop culture at the time. Besides a storied career in films, Wong also had a history in popular music, having recorded several of her most well-known albums throughout the 1990s. I'm not sure how Uematsu was able to snag her for this soundtrack, but it created that delightful moment when the perfect song meets the perfect singer. "Eyes on Me" was released in Japan in February 1999, about two weeks after the release of the video game, and is a sweeping love ballad expanding upon the themes heard throughout the game, notably with cues like "Waltz for the Moon" and "Julia" (in fact, Wong is singing as the character Julia in the game, who is confessing her feelings toward Laguna during a performance). Wong's voice is lithe enough to keep the song light and sweet, rather than moody, which is perfect for the tone of the game, which is exciting, occasionally dangerous, and sometimes sad, but never dark or grim. There are many beautiful instrumental iterations of this theme throughout the game, but the song plays in its full vocal glory only twice: once toward the back half of the game, and again with an expanded orchestral arrangement upon the game's completion. They're all fantastic.
The single's c/w track is "ACACIA no Mi," a ballad composed by Jim Lau, this time sung in Mandarin. It's a pretty, though somewhat anemic, slow number that fits the mood of the disc, but of course comes nowhere near the grace and beauty of the A-side. The single finishes with the instrumental version of "Eyes on Me."
The single came in standard 3" mini-disc packaging, with the lyrics and credits written on the back of the cover. Not surprisingly, this song ended up being one of the most popular video game songs of all time, second only to Hikaru Utada's "Hikari," written for Kingdom Hearts. It hit #9 on the Oricon chart, which was also pretty impressive at that time for a song from a video game. The entire soundtrack to Final Fantasy VIII is incredible and merits many more words of analysis and praise, but this post is just for the game's most well-known song -- the four-disc soundtrack proper was released one week later. Like the rest of the OST, "Eyes on Me" has aged incredibly well, and still sounds as beautiful as the day it was released, a testament to both Faye Wong's impeccable vocals and Uematsu's bottomless capacity for moving melodies.
Catalog Number: TODT-5271

Lumen Sages Headcanons!
Part 1:
-Lumen sages can use healing magic, in case even very advanced sages like the Lumen elder can bring back death animals or even humans.
-Lumen sages often use alchemy in battle to create elements: Fire, water, earth and air/lightning.
-They also use alchemy to create objects
-Lumen sages officially become real warriors when they have made a pact with an angel: sages receive angel feathers from the angel they have made a pact with to sew their first lumen robe (a sign that they have also made a pact with Laguna and are now a part of it).
-Which angel you can make a pact with depends on the spiritual power of the wearer. Sages with less spiritual power can only make a pact with angels of the second or third sphere, while other sages with a lot of spiritual energy can make pacts with seraphs, cherubs or thrones, i.e. angels of the first sphere. (The Lumen elder is often the only one who has a pact with a cardinal virtue)
-There are female Lumen sages in the clan, they are also trained as warriors if they have a high spiritual energy like their male companions.
Once a year the Lumen sages make a pilgrimage to paradiso (this is why the portals to paradiso exist) Some sages use this to train or speak with their angel companions.
-Lumen sages possess instruments with miraculous powers (these can be played with only one melody to make flowers grow or to change time and space and much more)
The cardinal virtues are considered gods among the Lumen sages.
A sacrificial altar was erected for the angel Fortitudo so that the sages could pray to him and receive his blessing and protection (Fortitudo is a guardian angel, so to speak)
Temperantia is an angel to whom one prays for the seasons and that they go well. Temperantia is also often known for giving the sages rain, sun, etc.
Iustitia is worshipped for fertility and for successful harvests.
Sapientia is worshipped for a good catch in the sea (whether fish or simply treasure) and is seen as the leader of the sea when the Lumen sages are caught in a storm and receive his protection to arrive without losses.

Introduction post!
Once upon a time, there was a little girl in the 17th century, who wanted to do nothing but learn. Her name was Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, and from a young age, she was captivated by the world of books. While other girls her age were to focus on household chores and prepare for marriage, she spent her days hidden away in her grandfather's library, devouring every text she could find. With an insatiable curiosity, she defied societal norms, seeking wisdom in philosophy, poetry, and science. Despite facing immense challenges and criticism, her passion for learning burned brightly. That little girl? Well, she grew up to be me…
My name is sor (sister in spanish for you) juana inés de la cruz. Well, thats what Im know as, my actual name is Juana Ramírez de Asbaje. Ive been posting for a couple days, but an introduction just slipped my mind, so I'm here to remedy that.
I was born november 12 (Scorpio, of course) or maybe 1648? No one really noted it down, I mean- who would've knew I was gonna make such an impact in the world, right?. You see, women back then, were not allowed to have any sort of education that would help them get married and have babies. Which, as you can imagine, was a bit of a problem for me since I loved learning everything I could. I had little access to formal education, so i taught myself everything i could. Im half Creole and half Spanish.
For most of my life, I lived with my relatives in Mexico City, where I attracted the attention of the then viceroy. I was invited to court as a lady in waiting in 1664, and later I had my knowledge tested by some 40 noted scholars.
But soon after, I realised that the freedom I sought to pursue knowledge would not come via marriage or my social circles. So, in 1667, I decided to become a nun. Not sure what i was thinking then but joining the convent would allow me to study and write without the pressures of traditional responsibilities.
First, I joined the Discalced Carmelites, but their restrictions were a little too stringent for me. I soon relocated to the more lenient Convent of Santa Paula, which is part of the Hieronymite order in Mexico City. That's where I've spent the remainder of my life.
Convent life was not as restricting as it might seem. In fact, it granted me a previously unattainable amount of freedom. I had my own apartment, time to write, and worked as the convent's archivist and accountant. I even taught music and drama in the convent's school. During my tenure there, I built up a sizable personal library—one of the largest in the Americas at the time—full of books on science, music, literature, and other topics. I even gathered scientific instruments while maintaining intellectual connections to scholars, poets, and philosophers.
The viceroys of New Spain, particularly the marquis and marquise de la Laguna, were fervent supporters of my work, ensuring that my writings were published in Spain, earning me international acclaim. I became an unofficial court poet, composing plays, poems, and hymns for religous festivals. My poetry covered a wide range of topics, including the beauty of nature, love, religion, and women's rights, and frequently combined humour, intellect, and emotion. One of my most renowned pieces, "Hombres Necios" (Foolish Men), exposed the hypocrisy of males who criticised women while engaging in the same behaviours they denounced.

"WHAT DO I DO?"
Hey, Wazzup I’m Shogun im a local artist representing Calamba Laguna. Let me walk you through the depths on the hiphop scene. Making a track/song is not an easy process but if you are really ten toes down about it, you’ll find the perseverance to make it consistent. And for me consistency beats talent. For me making a rap song is to express my ideas and feelings and also to speak out the unspoken things that I can’t talk out loud.
But let me tell you, it is really not that easy no joke! The hardships that a local artist goes through is sometimes frustrating. You need to spend money to make an exceptional track. Let me break it down for you, 1st is the beats/instrumentals, 2nd the recording studio 3rd is the costs of the required equipment for example the recording mic and pc. and lastly you need to pay the producer to mix and master the track to attain the quality that you are longing for. And of course, it is an investment of time because you are the one that records the track. Though, you really do not need to do all the things that I have said, what I mean is you can record using only your phone but are you really willing to sacrifice the quality when you are making a piece of art.
And that’s why for me, when I make a track, I’m all in to it. I strive to make it my best or I aim to make improvements to all of the lyrics that I’m writing. The reason behind that is to make it worthwhile, Whenever I write my lyrics, I think more than twice before making it the final piece. The purpose of that is not to waste my time and make the artwork exemplary. And making track that is so spotless shows my 100% dedication to the industry and that is what is all about.

(—) ★ spotted!! JASPER 'JAZZ' DESAI on the cover of this week’s most recent tabloid! many say that the 30 year old looks like AVAN JOGIA, but i don’t really see it. while the PRODUCER / GUITARIST is known for being OBSERVANT my inside sources say that they have a tendency to be PESSIMISTIC i swear, every time i think of them, i hear the song MIRRORBALL BY TAYLOR SWIFT {he/him , cisman}
𝑩𝑰𝑶𝑮𝑹𝑨𝑷𝑯𝒀
raised in laguna beach , jasper was surrounded by music before he even took his first breath . his father , silas desai , was a well - known jazz musician with a successful career spanning decades . the decision to nickname his son after his chosen genre was somewhat of an homage to his love for music and now his first born .
jazz grew up surrounded by music , spending most of his childhood in the studio with his father where he watched with awe . it was only natural then , that he would learn to start playing instruments as soon as he was old enough to hold them . he was fortunate enough to learn from some of the greats , as legends often frequented his father's studio that was conveniently an off - shoot to their home .
once he started with the guitar , jazz didn't stop there . he's somewhat of a music savant , able to pick up any instrument and be proficient in hours . he loved every aspect of the creation process , something he spent many sleepless nights doing . it was obvious from the time he was a teenager that he was meant for a career in music , just like his father .
he began producing his own music right out of high school , posting his demos on a sound cloud . his first record , innerspeaker ( 2013 ) hit the scene when he was just twenty years old . it had soft success in the indie music scene , which jazz was quite pleased with .
since the release of his first record , he's continued to work on his own music as well as produced records for other artists . he typically focuses on work that is in the psychedelic pop / rock genres , but has expanded into the hip hop , indie pop and jazz areas as well . he's open to working with any artist , so long as it's an equal collaboration .
he's somewhat of a homebody and doesn't care much for big events or publicity . like his father , he has a home studio where he spends most of his time working . he's done several small tours around the US , but has yet to embark on a large world tour out of fear it would distract him too much from the creative process .
he mainly keeps to himself and has a small circle of close friends . he's a pretty chill guy for the most part and is hardly ever involved in much scandal . his favorite nights include smoking a joint , spending time with those closest to him and working in his studio .
𝑫𝑰𝑺𝑪𝑶𝑮𝑹𝑨𝑷𝑯𝒀
innerspeaker ( 2013 )
lonerism ( 2015 )
currents ( 2018 )
the slow rush ( 2023 )
𝑾𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑬𝑫 𝑪𝑶𝑵𝑵𝑬𝑪𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵𝑺
close circle of friends ( 0/5) - people in jazz's close group of friends that he hangs out with frequently . could be people he's grown up with or met over the years !
failed engagement - these two met when they were young and fell hard for each other very quickly . they dated for years and eventually became engaged but for reasons that can be plotted , their engagement eventually ended . jazz will always have a lot of love for this person and a part of him will be devastated that it didn't work out . i'd also be open to getting them back together if plotting goes that way !
musicians that he's produced , worked with etc - he mainly works in the pop , rock , hip hop or jazz genres but is always willing to branch out !
crush - reciprocated or unrequited
other exes
anything else ur heart desires !

The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is one of the original and best-performance Mustangs to be produced by Ford. Only 859 units were ever produced, mainly to celebrate the Boss 429 engine, and to win emphatically at NASCAR. The ruling from NASCAR at the time was that a performance vehicle had to produce a minimum of 500 production units for it to compete.
The Boss 429 is powered by a massive 7.0-liter V8 engine that was conservatively rated at 375 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. In reality, the engine produced closer to 500 horsepower and was one of the most powerful engines of its time. The engine was mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.91:1 rear axle ratio.
Standout features of the Boss 429 included front disc brakes, an upgraded suspension system, and a functional hood scoop directing airflow into the engine. The interior was upgraded with high-back bucket seats, a dashboard-mounted tachometer, and Hurst shifter. As expected, this model is super rare and can easily fetch six figures at auction.

Article 1316. Real contracts, such as deposit, pledge and commodatum, are not perfected until the delivery of the object of the obligation.
Perfection of real contracts. The article refers to real contracts which require delivery of the object for their validity, in addition to the presence of the other essential elements of a contract: consent subject matter and cause of consideration.
Real contract are perfected from the moment of the delivery of the object of the obligation.
Meaning of deposit: A deposit is constituted from the moment a person receives a thing belonging to another, with the obligation of safely keeping it and returning the same. If the safekeeping of the thing delivered is not the principal purpose of the contract, there is no deposit but some other contract.
Meaning of Pledge: A pledge is a contract by virtue of which one person delivers to another a movable, or instrument evidencing incorporeal rights, for the purpose of securing a principal obligation, with the understanding that when the obligation is fulfilled the thing or the instrument shall be returned by the creditor to the debtor with its fruits and accessions.
Meaning commodatum: Commodatum is a species of bailment, by which one of the parties binds himself to return to the other certain personal chattels which the latter delivers to him to be used by him without reward. It is actually a loan for use.
Case Digest: Perez vs Pomar 2 Phil. 682
FACTS
Perez filed in the Court of First Instance of Laguna a complaint asking the Court to determine the amount due him for services rendered as an interpreter for Pomar and for judgement to be rendered in his favor.
Pomar, on his part, denied having sought the services of Perez, contending that, Perez being his friend, he only accepted the services for they were rendered in a spontaneous, voluntary and officious manner.
ISSUE
Whether or not consent has been given by the other party.
HELD
Yes. It does not appear that any written contract was entered into between the parties for the employment of the plaintiff as interpreter, or that any other innominate contract was entered into, but whether the plaintiff’s services were solicited or whether they were offered to the defendant for his assistance, inasmuch as these services were accepted and made use of by the latter, there was a tacit and mutual consent as to the rendition of services. This gives rise to the delegation upon the person benefited by the services to make compensation thereof, since the bilateral obligation to render services as interpreter, on the one hand, and on the other to pay for the services rendered is thereby incurred.
As was held in the Supreme Court of Spain in its decision of February 12, 1889, it stated that “not only is there an express and tacit consent which produces real contract but there is also a presumptive consent which is the basis of quasi-contracts this giving rise to the multiple judicial relations which result in obligations for the delivery of a thing or the rendition of a service
