Most of us knows who is Captain, Leader, Legend of Indian Football. But do we know who is the "Durga of Indian Football"? The answer would be Bembem Devi. She has got 80+ caps and more than 30 goals for national team and has played for clubs like New Radiant 🇲🇻 and Eastern Sporting Union and lead both of these clubs to win their respective national leagues. She started managing Eastern Sporting Union from 2017 and was also appointed as an assistant coach for India u17 Women's team. Last year she coached the Manipur Police Sports Club which went on to become the runners up of Indian Women's League 2018-19. Head coach Maymol Rocky believes that the team has now reached the point where they need to play higher-ranked opposition like Vietnam (34, as compared to India's 57), in order to further improve. "I think this is the first time that we will play against Vietnam. It's all about playing against higher-ranked teams so that we can further improve ourselves," said Rocky. While the team prepares for the two matches against Vietnam, which are set to be held on November 3 and November 6, the head coach constantly had one eye on the 2022 Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers next year. "Right now, our efforts are to match them and be better than them. It's only when we play better teams that we can gauge our strengths and weaknesses," she quipped. "Our main aim is to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup.
