Just got this art commission from the amazing @haflacky, for my fic With His Bloodstained Hands.

In it, Izzy and Ed have a more intimate relationship pre-canon, and Izzy's role as someone who commits violence in Ed's name is much more explicit. He often gifts Ed with the severed body parts of men who insult or threaten him, even as he eschews traditional affection. So this time, when kraken!Ed wakes Izzy in the middle of the night, he doesn't cut off any of Izzy's appendages... he asks Izzy to do it for him. And Izzy does.

He'll do anything to reignite the fire within Edward... even if it means using himself as kindling.

That's what I have heard it be called my whole life, dedo del corazón, and it seems to be the main one recognized by the Spanish academy (but it also includes "medio", middle, and "cordial" which is just fancier heart one XD). I do think all the meanings are related -Spanish has always liked its metaphors, and using "heart" as synonym of middle, center or core is a common thing ("even in English I think? at the heart of the city"?).

In a fun note, the little finger, meñique, means "little traitor", which I think is eons better than the more technical term "auricular" because what does that have to do with ears, please someone explain.

I tend to wear a little ring on my index finger and a professor recently saw it, said it was cute and asked if I was engaged 😭 she meant nothing by it, she's a nice lady, but when I told my parents about it, they were telling me that no age is "too late" to get engaged by fuckin default 🙃

I do like how people in my life have listened to me whine about it so much they just offer comfort right away

my full updated snake ring collection! it's 7 rings out of the 28 in my full collection, not counting my octopus ring which is honestly a honorary snake if you ask me

#there's a disproportionate amount of thumb snake rings (here they are my thumb one and the bottom ones on my index and middle fingers)#and even the others are mostly meant to go on my bigger fingers like middle and index. only the pinky one is meant to go on the ring finger #yes i have a bedazzled snake ring. no i never wear it it's too feminine.#btw in case you're wondering how i grew my collection they're all either my mom's old rings or i stole them. i haven't spent a cent on it.
