i was just reading a news article shaking in disbelief that claimed that from their poll t**mp had a growing favorability and an overall 2-point lead (still within the margin of error) of the national popular vote before i read that the sample was only of 1,000 voters. in the entire nation. big hefty fuckin claims for that small a sample

#i had to read it bc it's so contrary like #the thing i actually worry about is the electoral college and the rust belt #where it really really is a tight race #if harris loses this election overall i have basically no doubt she'll win the popular vote #republicans can't win the popular vote anymore but they don't even try to #in this century they've only won it once and that was 20 years ago. but counting the bill clinton elections #they've only won it that one time in the past 30 years #given bill clinton was elected that first time with only a plurality of the popular vote bc of ross perot splitting it #but i really dont think that makes a difference. if we didn't have the electoral college and had a simple popular vote system like we shoul #i still don't think we'd be so advanced a society not to allow a first-past-the-post winner with only a plurality victory #why am i even being a stats nerd right now #tales from diana #i try not to look at polls bc they make me anxious as fuck #basically all world issues these days make me anxious as fuck #i hate talking on the internet about politics and current events im like done with it completely #i hate that im even writing this post right now
