it’s okay to admit that an artist you like had a bad design. like. not every design is going to be a banger. not every design that makes it to the final phase is going to be good. some will be iconic, most will be standard, and some will be just terrible. you don’t have to jump to defense and excuses when a design is objectively bad just cause you like the rest of the artists’ work

#this is about both u-olga and about tighnari #i LOVE pako. but tighnari was a bad design. it doesnt matter who told him what or IF anyone told him what #in the end pako's design Was Bad and also doesnt mesh well alongside other characters--which he is excellent at being able to do #u-olga is ALSO bad.#takeuchi has some iconic designs and IS capable of harmony and thematics and nuance in his design. however u-olga doesnt have harmony #therefore. her design is BAD #i can say the same thing about arnold tseng and tetsuya nomura #Artists! Can! Make! Bad! Designs!#you dont have to defend them or make excuses
