sooooo this is an au thats been in the works for a few weeks now! Ive been calling it the ForgetMeNot AU but @spudinacup has been calling them the Dust Bunnies and i just.... lets just say its an alternative name
to put this au in the briefest description, this is a direct spin-off of the GONE WRONG AU (thank you spud for enabling me) where a divergence in events leads to Steven's body getting cremated and his ashes being spread over the hill where Steven died/where the injector landed, for ceremonial purposes. This au also incorporates a theory/au that @faranae has that involves the injector originally being used to create new gems/spinels. With this in mind, cremation ashes are commonly used to create diamonds to put in jewelry as memorabilia. So, with those two concepts in mind... i’m sure you can see where im going with this
(This au is based entirely around the events that will happen in the GW AU, events that I am in no way privy to how they occur so i’m just here for the ride, folks)
READ UNDER THE CUT FOR MORE DETAILED CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS AND NOTES
•Cloud•
   Pronouns: They/them (occasional he???)
   Age: Last to emerge
Flaw: Twinning wisps (in layman’s terms, when too many outside elements interfere and stunt the growth of the diamond) (design more heavily based on this)
Symptoms: light projection is underdeveloped. Black misshapen “skin” is warped over crystalline “nursery clusters”. (I headcanon that in the early stages of gem growth, their entire form is nothing more than a small, light projection cluster of the gem their made of, but then this condenses into one spot, the gem, thus leaving behind the refined light projection and hardening the gem.) The underdeveloped skin is black/reddish because of the presence of other elements, receding it’s formation.
Personality: All three are curious about the world, sure, but only Cloud is as forward with their intrigue. They have the mentality of “This interests me, I am going to learn more.” Which often leads them to invading boundaries and personal bubbles.    They are the most likely out of the three to ask questions and strike up conversation (that is, at least, when they learn English. Even though I can still see them trying to anyway even with broken English lol) making them very charismatic and friendly. This, in turn, makes Cloud act as the three’s door to learning more about this new world they’ve found themselves in.
Other Notes:    - Representation of Pink Diamond. Poofy pants, Leotard over pants, Flats. Their Personality also reflects this, mimicking Pink Diamonds childlike curiosity and hunger for knowledge about life on earth.    - Meant to mimic Steven’s friendly nature.
•Sky•
   Pronouns: She/He/They
   Age: second to emerge
   Flaw: Clouding
Symptoms: Pigment discoloration around eyes paired with iris colomba (poor vision)
Personality: Sky is the grounding force of the group, they are the one to bring them back down to earth and be the calm when either of them go into their own heads too much. They are also fairly curious about the world but isn’t as direct about it, mostly preferring to observe from afar unless encouraged (or enabled) by the others (*coughcough* cloud *coughcough*) this isn’t to be confused with skittish, though. If sky were to be approached by someone unknown they wouldn’t run away, they’d most likely stay where they are and give you a funny look.    Sky will often need encouragement, direct or indirect, from the other two to make their own willing decisions, and will often parrot cloud or slug. Sky will often act as their dictionary or mental catalogue. If one of them forgets the word to something it’s likely sky will be the one to remember it.
Other Notes:    -Representation of Rose Quartz. Shawl layer in the shape of RQ’s dress, loose ringlets, bare feet. Their personality reflects Rose Quartz’s mature and nurturing energy with the deep love for all those they hold dear.     - Meant to mimic Steven’s caring spirit    -due to iris colomba, her vision is very poor. But a symptom of iris colomba is the presence of floater spots in ones vision which, in children, can lead to a more developed use for peripheral vision. This is the case for Sky.
•Slug•
   Pronouns: He/They
   Age: First to emerge
Flaw: Black Inclusions (bits of spinel?)
Symptoms: Black splotches all over body, mental conflict (short temper, mild co-dependency)
Personality: Being the first to emerge, Slug takes on the role of protector. This makes him very defensive and slightly possessive of the other sibling. He is the most antisocial of the group but can be easily swayed into any activity by the other two, especially when it comes to affection. He typically comes off as crass and rude to strangers (or anyone who isn’t sky or cloud), but if his trust is earned (with a lot of effort) he will show it rather than say it. Slug is the most visually observant and spatially aware out of the two and acts as their sharper set of eyes (this also going hand in hand with their role as protector).
Other Notes:    - Representation of Steven. Jacket, (comparatively) shorter curly hair, sandals.    His personality reflects Stevens protective nature (and temper) and desire to help. Wanting nothing more than to be useful to those he cares about most.    - Meant to mimic Steven’s will to fight
•Overall Notes•
   • These gems emerge about 3-4 or so months after the current events of GONE WRONG (THIS IS LIKELY TO CHANGE)
  • Each gems deformities/premature emergence all make these gems extremely brittle compared to a normal perfect cut diamond (or even a regular gem for that matter)
  • 3 gems instead of one was the fact that a pink diamond, in essence, is practically identical to a white diamond, as far as whats in it’s chemical compound to effect it’s color. With this in mind, its been explained before that White Diamond carries the essence of the entire spectrum. If this is true, then why wouldn’t a pink diamond if they’re practically identical? Therefore, the result of adding those residual properties of a pink diamond from within the ashes, would produce the “purest” forms of the spectrum. White, yellow, and blue. All of them tinted slightly with an ashy pinkish hue.
   • Many things were factors in their premature growth, but a main factor is the amount of injector fluid that was provided in the growing process. When spinel first lands the injector, its very apparent that there is plenty of fluid injected into the hill right upon impact. But in this circumstance, after the current events in Gone Wrong, the injector goes idle (or is possibly removed and relocated by/to Little Homeworld but that is completely up in the air and reliant on future events in GW.) and what little fluid was left behind by the injector was what was used to grow the three gems
   • Currently, their vocabulary is very limited. They will normally speak in 1-3 word sentences unless they are parroting. Although, given that they are technically elite gem, albeit deformed, they do have the programming for an advanced ease of grasp on language.
   • Because of their human influence, they have taken on specific traits of Steven. Yes, different physical aspects (facial features, body type, clothing, etc.) but they also gained instincts from Steven. Not to be confused with memories, but rather impressions of specific muscle memory.     Although they don’t need to, they will sometimes desire sleep or food, often unknowingly acting on human instincts. They will even find themselves drawn to specific things/places/people, finding them familiar or warming up to this thing/place/person with ease. (e.g. feeling familial attachment to Pink!Steven not long after first contact with him, with the exception of Slug (lol))     This can include, but is not limited to, other absent minded behaviors; such  as, inflections in speech, subtle ticks (i.e. humming, tapping feet, idle movements), specific hand gestures, ect.

SO i just finished wonder egg priority and i think that with confidence i can say it has been one of my favorite animes like... ever ?? and not even from hyperfixation or obsession over it just... its so fucking real yet so simple in a way that i havent rlly seen shown in any other shows you feel ??
but first i wanna talk about how sexy the art and animation is real quick... HOMIE ITS SO GOOD LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT JUST... serotonin... the characters are all so unique and iconic and fun but not over the top in their designs yknow ??? they seem like regular every day girls but they stand out and theyre all sO CUTE !!!! also i love how the style is like this soft bubbly slice of life lookin stuff with bright happy colors and the most beautiful scenes you could find but they also have the SICKEST fight scenes complete with whimsical animal helpers and terrifying villains and crazy weapons unique to each character. and the animation. god DAMN shawty i am obsessed with everything in this show. i might make a post solely about the art later lol bc i wanna get into the other stuff.
so the themes in the show right ?? it starts just as this cute lil magical girl kinda deal but within the first episode we see that like.. oh damn... thats kinda heavy... tbh i was a little shocked and thought about stopping bc yknow bad mental health BUT i was so intrigued that i had to keep going and i am SO GLAD that i did. because this show just so beautifully discusses all these heavy topics in such an eloquent and artistically expressive way. and also like, , the juxtaposition of the charming childlike vibe with bright colors and 14 yr old girl protagonists against the dark themes of suicide and so much else,, i think is just perfect. bc a lot of heavy animes are more of the seinen genre and have some middle aged dude as a protag or make the entire color palette dim or offer little relief to the pain of these heavy themes right ?? but NO not wonder egg bitches B) because these problems arent just things that ppl face later in life or just problems that need to be talked about among adults or the edgy seinen watching squad,, these are REAL problems that face people of every age, gender etc and i think its awesome that wonder egg addresses that. some may cringe at the thought of their high schooler watching animes that discuss sexual harassment, suicide, abuse, self harm, eating disorders etc,, but in reality it is the most comforting thing i have ever come across and is basically jsut free anime therapy. because not only does wonder egg present these themes to the viewers as something real that happens to all kinds of people (making said people feel heard in a way that maybe they hadnt before), but it also makes sure to vanquish all of these forms of trauma. and the way the trauma is vanquished isnt always beautiful and it isnt always just magically gone with a poof. the struggles of overcoming or living with that sort of thing are shown in such a real and relatable way that addresses every hardship trauma survivors have to go through. and i just. god i cry bro.
oh m y GOD and the lgbtq+ rep in this show ?? like shawty... as soon as i saw episode one i was picking up on some gay/lesbian themes but then again im sapphic and project that a lot so i tend to see that sort of stuff like... everywhere... but NE WAYS... episode ten made me FUKCING CRY BRO LIke i cant believe there was a whole trans character with a whole trans pride hoodie like LKGHKDGH my heart is just so.. so fucking full thinking about him. bc like yeah i know there are trans characters in anime but i feel like theyre always very ambiguous about actually being trans or not or erased or portrayed as a harmful stereotype or theyre constantly misgendered and still refered to as their assigned gender at birth and i hate it. HOWEVEr... Kaoru.. *chefs kiss* it was so amazing to see a character straight up say “yeah im trans” in such a casual yet powerful way bc i personally have never seen that before. and i love love loved how he went into his backstory and talked to momoe about gender bc i think thats what she rlly needed and that it helped her find herself and it makes me so happy oh my god,, and the way they talked about it never seemed forced or like it was the focal point of his existence yknow ?? like yeah he existed to help momoe overcome some of her trauma but he also just existed to be HIM yknow ?? also... personally, i headcanon momoe as a trans girl even though i dont remember it being explicitly stated plus the school scenes of her and stuff would seem like they suggest otherwise ??but,,, SHAWTY THE AMOUNT OF SUBTEXT and her complicated relationship w gender is... something i feel like a cis girl would not go through so harshly yknow ?? with all of the questioning and feeling detached from femininity or feeling like ppl dont see her as an actual girl and only like her as a guy or for her masculine traits,,, but dont take my word on this bc i myself am a cis girl but that was just my take on it as someone in the lgbtq+ community trying to educate myself on the transgender community :) either way,, wonder eggs portrayal of momoe and kaoru and the way that momoe becomes so passionate about expressing herself the way she wants to as a girl is just... good lord im gonna cry its so perfect,,,.so ... i just love this show way too much. i also am honestly super lost about the relationship btwn acca and ura-acca ?? bc i was gonna mention ura-acca as a canonically gay guy bc when i was watching i interpreted ep 11 as him being in love with acca and being jealous of Azusa (bc i mean,, they lived together (i swear to god there was only one bed in that apartment) and had a daughter together and def loved each other and also when Frill said they were husbands and then when ura-acca said he wasnt attracted to azusa but he was def jealous of their relationship ??) but then i saw somewhere that theyre brothers ?? which would make sense ig since they look kinda similar and accas daughter called ura-acca “uncle”.. but at the same time its ANIME SO THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR and referring to gay couples as siblings is an EXTREMELY common euphemism soooo... IM JUST LOST HERE... but yeah i tried doing research and found different things so i cant say anything for sure >:( however,,, if they are canonically a lil fruity for each other... when frill refered to acca as ura-accas husband i imploded dude you never hear that sort of wording in anime.. but if theyre related i am so sorry.
god this is so much longer than i planned it to be oops but i also love the theme about like.. relying on friends to help carry your weight but at the same time not becoming completely dependent on those friends and using their support to learn how to love yourself and rely on yourself yknow ?? bc that is exactly what healthy friendships look like. bc i think ai sort of had a codependency thing goin on with koito maybe ?? but now she has a whole squad of funky friends that are so so different but all struggle with different kinds of trauma and although they fight over it, they always get through it with each other together. and they push each other no matter what to be the best versions of themselves and they teach other that getting hurt is okay because theyre always gonna be there to pick up the pieces no matter what happens. they can give each other space when they need and adapt to meet each others needs but theyre always able to balance it out with their own needs and thats such a beautiful thing in friendships especially at their age like damn i wish i had that maturity when i was 14 but no all i had was depression. another thing is that through these friendships you get to see all the different sides of each girl; you get to see them being strong or a shining light to their friends when theyre hurting but you also get to see them being hurt and weak and allowing themselves to be on the receiving end of the comfort. their friendships allows them to have weaknesses but it also allows them to highlight their strengths and thrive off of each others. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP DUDE
next i wanna briefly mention some of the themes connected to suicide that ive noticed. a big one is the survivors guilt that ai feels once koito is dead. several times she screams that she wishes she couldve gone with koito and she dreams of a “perfect world” where they committed a double suicide. one of the main reasons for her troubles is that she blames herself for koitos death and feels like it should be her thats dead... but at the same time she feels like too much of a coward to do anything now that koito is gone. she just has all these complex and contradicting feelings that wear away at her in ways that ppl that havent gone through the suicide of a loved one could never imagine. a lot of the times when things like this are portrayed in media i feel like its more in a way thats meant to guilt trip those that have taken their own lives and paint suicide as this selfish sin thats unforgivable but... not only does wonder egg reject that idea and instead portray it as a heartbreaking tragedy with,,, so so many terrible reasons, but it focuses on the feelings of ai separate from koito without blaming her in any way. not once did i feel like the show antagonized koito or that ai blamed koito for doing any of this, but they simply mourned her loss and touched on ais reaction towards the event but separate from koito herself if that makes sense. and i think that discussing survivors guilt without painting koito as the bad guy is something so beautifully done in wonder egg that can really resonate with those that have lost a loved one to suicide and have struggled with these same things.
okay i think this is the last thing ill mention,,, but HOMIE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE BIT AT THE END. I AM. OBSESSED. i am such a whore for anything about the multiverse okay n e ways...,, not only did this make a super epic trippy ending of season one and add a little bit more magical girl whimsy to the show,, but it had such a powerful message. from the perspective of og ai,, finding out that you killed yourself in another world is... i mean its definitely not a surprise but at the same time it rlly makes you think how close og ai herself couldve been to that point and what decisions led her out of that dark place in her life. if i were in her shoes i would be terrified and id cry bc the thought of going back to such a dark place and actually going through with something like that is my worst fear and probably something that ai fears too. but at the same time,,, think from the perspective of ai two !!! like yeah its true that theres this awful terrible version of ai that dies but theres also a whole version of ai that is a superhero magical girl fighting off monsters to save countless ppls lives !! and she has a badass lizard and a gang of awesome friends !!! at first i was worried that ai two would be jealous of og ai and compare herself to her and feel inferior but like.. THEYRE LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AND CAPABLE OF THE SAME THINGS !!! and ai two realized that !! just within the span of one episode, she went from the version of ai who took her life,, to the version of ai jumping in front of a friend to take a bullet for them and save their life. and that just inspired THE SHIT OUT OF ME. i think that ai was sent another version of herself to sort of beat her own worst enemy yknow ?? those doubts and fears that shes no good or that shes that same bystander from episode one and that she hasnt changed at all. but getting to interact with her parallel self and see her grow was just what she needed to realize that while yeah sometimes the worst thing can happen and things can be terrible but on the other hand sometimes the most wonderful thing imaginable can happen because she has the power to do either.
so im gonna go ahead and stop rambling bc i got all my thoughts out that i wanted to for this post :D but yeah lol i might make another if i feel like it sometime. long story short: this show is perfect and it is going on my favorite of all times.

After All
Idol: Kim Jisoo (Blackpink)
Request: Yes
Anon: Can I get a Jisoo scenario where she’s a princess and reader is assigned as her personal guard? Reader is a knight famous for being extremely skilled yet cold and stoic so Jisoo thinks she hates her? The reader almost dies protecting jisoo from an assassin and thats where she confesses she never hated her and actually loved her thanksss
Warning: blood, some violence?
Author’s note: wasn’t exactly my best work so im sorry for this
Tumblr media
As a young girl, Jisoo’s had everything handed to her. Whatever she asked for, her father made sure she would get, and if anyone tried to bring her harm would always find themselves at either the end of a blade or locked in the dungeons.
Kim Jisoo is the kingdom’s most prized possession, so it was understandable to have guards posted at every corner to ensure her safety. No man or woman was allowed to touch her unless no threat was found from them.
Despite having everything handed to her on a silver platter, Jisoo had manners. She was never snobby nor did she use her authority to make others feel inferior to her. She was a kind-hearted soul that earned the people’s love and respect.
You, on the other hand, were born from a poor family. While your parents slaved away, they found that they could not keep you safe if you were to stay with them, so they had given you to to royal family to be trained to serve, not only them but the entire kingdom.
This, in turn, caused various of the castle residents to whisper. Words of either pity or disgust was all you’ve ever heard while growing up, which then caused you to turn away from everyone, acting like a lone wolf and distancing from every person there. The only times you’ve ever interacted with anyone was when you were ordered to deliver things to the king and queen or when you were called to train.
It was one day while you were training did little Jisoo see you, separated from the guards and others in training as they enjoyed their meal. She wondered why you, someone who looked to be around her age, was all alone and covered in dirt and grime whilst the people around you happily chatted and acted without a care in the world.
“Should you not be eating with the others?” Her curious tone rang in your ears just as the wooden sword came into contact with one of the dummies your superiors had you use for practice.
Turning around, you know right away that this was no ordinary girl, given the way she stood, dressed, and spoke. But with the years you’ve been stuck in the castle, seeing Jisoo in person was never a privilege you’ve come to stumble upon.
Until now.
“You mustn’t be here, princess.” She pouts as her question goes unanswered, at the same time, being told that she was prohibited from being in the training grounds. She huffed before raising her nose to the sky. “I can come here as I please. I must see that our guards are fit in protecting the kingdom!” She proclaimed with such childlike glee that you can’t help but find it endearing.
Yet your mask never falters as you watch her before shaking your head. “I assure you that the guards are doing their best, princess.” You tell her while looking down to the wooden sword.
Before the young girl could say more, there was the sound of footsteps coming closer until maids have swooped in to take the princess back into the castle and Jisoo is left looking over her shoulder to see you turning your back on her and resuming what she had interrupted.
..
Since that day, Jisoo has been curious as to who you were. Before she could have asked for your name, the maids came in to retrieve her and she mentally cursed herself for not asking as soon as she spoke.
She makes it a habit to pass by the training grounds as much as possible, telling her father once that she only did it to make sure that the guards were not slacking off. She couldn’t possibly tell him that she’d gotten interested in one of the guards in training unless she wanted the guard exiled from the castle.
But one day, she hadn’t expected her father to assign her a new guard. “Your former guard is not fitted to continue looking after you, dear daughter.” The king told her when she asked him about his reasoning. “But Taewo has been my guard since I was thirteen. How is he not fit after five long years?” She questioned, and her father shook his head.
“It is not something I wish to discuss further. The reason I asked you to come here is to meet your new guard.” Truthfully, she wanted to protest. Taewo was someone she’s grown to trust and rely on. He acted like an uncle to Jisoo, and knowing that he would no longer be around made her feel disheartened.
Nodding the to the guards posted by the door, the two bow before opening it, allowing the person waiting to finally enter and Jisoo’s eyes immediately widen at the familiar looking face.
Even though you’ve grown and your face had matured, she was still able to distinguish your eyes. It was the same eyes that had sparked her curiosity since the first time she’s met you.
“This is Y/n L/n, one of our best trained soldiers. They’ve climbed the ranks ever since they were fourteen, and has been a reliable asset ever since. They are one of our youngest commanding officers.” The king explained, but Jisoo’s attention is elsewhere.
She blinks once, twice, a few more times before she looked back to her father, and then back to you.
Y/n.
She repeats your name quietly under her breath, enjoying the way it rolled off her tongue and how nice it sounded.
So after how many years of watching, she finally knew your name, and she would have you close when she needed you. No longer did she have to make excuses nor would she have to watch you from a distance.
“Y/n.” The king addresses you and you lift your head to meet his gaze. “Take care of my daughter.” Despite saying something so simple, it was clear as day. Protect her, or die trying. There was no other option because if the princess was ever harmed, it would be your head.
With a nod, you bow your head. “Until my last breath, your highness.” Jisoo frowns when you refuse to meet her gaze.
Do you not remember her, she wonders. That would be impossible though since she is the princess. Maybe you simply didn’t like her because of her being from royalty. She had everything without needing to ask, yet you worked hard to get where you had to be.
With that in mind, she made it her personal mission to get you to see that she was not like any other noble out there. She was determined to befriend you and get you to open up to her.
Or so she hoped.
Four months of having you as a guard and Jisoo is just about ready to tear her hair out with how frustrating you were. You barely spoke to her, and whenever she tried to ask a bit more less than professional questions, you would completely brush her off.
When she asked you to join her for tea, you would decline, always saying that you could not leave your post or need to be a certain distance away.
You always had an excuse and it was making her lose heart.
Despite that you were more than perfect in protecting her, she wanted to be able to get along with you. But you wouldn’t let her near you, both literally and figuratively.
So one night, while one of her maids were busy drying her hair, she couldn’t help but ask. “Is Y/n… do they hate me?” She asks softly and the woman blinks at her through the mirror before smiling and shaking her head.
“Y/n is a very guarded person, your highness. After being sold off to the family, people have given them a hard time. It’s nothing but orders or training for them, and very few have ever shown them kindness.” She explained as she began to brush the princess’s hair. “Y/n is a person of few words, m'lady, and I know you are trying, but rest assured, they do not hate you.”
After that talk, Jisoo decided to change her approach. She’s let herself actually think about what it was like to be in your shoes, so she takes her time when it comes to you. She knows not to cross a line and she’s learned not to force you into speaking, things that you’ve been able to pick up on.
At first, it confused you, but the longer you’ve spent time with Jisoo, the more that soft spot for her grew. The way she would constantly look after you or when she just asked about your day despite having you by her side throughout the day, it was hard not to like her.
She was unbelievably kind and radiated so much warmth that it drew people to her, you included.
Even when you tried to keep things professional between the two of you, she made it difficult with keeping your defenses up. She was slowly cracking at the ice that surrounded your heart and you weren’t putting much of a fight anymore.
“You should smile more.” Jisoo commented one day when you were accompanying her in the garden. A grunt came from your lips and she giggled as she ran her fingers over the bushes then picking up a single rose. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you do anything other than frown. You’re going to get wrinkles at an early age.” She teased and you roll your eyes at her comment.
“I’m supposed to look intimidating, not friendly.” You quip and her grin broadens because you were speaking much more to her than the first few months that you’ve been assigned her guard.
“I’m the only one here. Surely, I can be an exception?” She asks, brows wiggling in a joking manner and you lightly scoff, shaking your head.
Jisoo frowns at that, her lower lip jutting out into a small pout and you could only groan at her childish behavior.
But when both of you had gone quite, your ears perked up when a rustling sound came. Turning your head, you quickly stood by Jisoo and ushered her to head inside. “What are you doing?” The princess questioned confusedly, trying to push your arm away, but you sent her a glare. “There’s no time to discuss things, your highness. So, please, get inside while I-”
Just as you both got to the door, a hooded figure jumped down in front of you. Since Jisoo was gripping your right arm, you weren’t able to grab your sword in time. Instead, you pushed the princess through the door, hissing as the person’s blade sliced at your shoulder.
When you were sure that Jisoo was in the safety of the castle, you wasted no time in unsheathing your own sword to defend the princess. The person seemed to get the message and lunged at you while Jisoo stared in horror.
You may have been a skilled fighter, but whoever this person was looked like they knew how to fend for themselves just as well because of all the blows that were dealt on your body. Every time your blade in contact with them, they would retaliate.
Blood dripped down your arm, but when you were about to strike the person again, they quickly jabbed at your side before tackling you to the floor. Your sword fell from your grasp while their blade pressed against your neck.
“Any last words?” The asked mockingly and you held your breath, teeth clenched together as you felt the sharp weapon digging into your skin.
While the attacker was busy focusing on you, both of you failed to notice Jisoo reaching for a rock nearby before she’s launching it at the person’s head. It hit with deadly accuracy and you used that as a chance to push them off, grabbing the dagger from their hands before ramming it into their chest.
As soon as he’s down, you lay on the floor with a grunt and Jisoo is hurrying to your side after calling for help, worry etched on her features as she tried to see the severity of your injuries.
“Y/n!” Her eyes are scanning you from head to toe, paling at the amount of blood that stained your uniform. She felt her hands shaking but you gently place your own over them to assure her that you’re fine.
“If you hated me that much, you could have just said so instead of trying to die like that!” She rants, doing her best to make sure that you weren’t hurting as much, but you give her a look of pure confusion at the words she had uttered out.
“Hate you?”
She rolls her eyes and huffs, stilling her hands on her lap, not bothering with the blood that stained her dress. “Well, from the way you’ve been around me, I always thought that you didn’t like me. I thought you were burdened with having to look after me.” Her voice grew quieter the more she spoke and you frown before lightly touching her arm.
“I never hated you.” You mumble softly. “In fact, I was always very fond of you.”
The admission makes her eyes snap back to your face and she’s surprised by the small smile that sneaks its way onto your face, breaking your icy facade. “Ever since we were children, I knew you were different.” You add and she felt her heart leap to her throat as you spoke.
“When you would watch the training grounds, you stick out like a sore thumb.” You chuckle before meeting her eyes again and then shaking your head. “But with the few months I spent with you, you showed me exactly how different you were and, well… I think it’s clarified that I was more than fond of you.”
“Along the way, I found myself loving you.”
Since the day she’s met you, you’ve been stuck in her mind. And to this day, she didn’t think you would make such an impact in her life.
But as she stared at you, despite your bruised and slightly bloodied state, she found herself drawn to you yet again. The gentle smile and the light spark in your eyes, the love, she would do anything just to see that.
So with a smile of her own, she rested her hand against your cheek before pressing her lips to your forehead.
It may have been unconventional, but with you by her side, maybe she wouldn’t mind. After all, her father would never deny her of what she wanted.

Double Date with the Redfields
Tumblr media
A/N: Anon requested a double date with Claire, Chris, and their respective S/O’s at the Amusement Park. It’d be a little weird to do two reader characters so for this I’m going to do the reader character with Claire and one of my own characters that will be playing the role of Chris’ s/o. I hope that’s okay! Also. Front seats of coasters are always the best you can go ahead and fight me on that.
“Late as always, Chris.”
Ah. How Chris thought he missed his younger sisters teasing. It’d been months since he’d actually seen Claire. Absence is supposed to make the heart grow fonder. Too bad it didn’t.
“Missed you too, Claire.”
The pair had been planning a day for not only the two of them to spend some time together for old times sake but to finally introduce their partners to each other. Claire had been up-talking you for weeks to her big brother. Going on and on about how cool you were and how sweet and loving and just how perfect the two of you were together. Claire had also been going on an on about how strong and badass her brother liked to act, though he was just a huge dork whom she could easily knock to the ground. Not to mention he was built like a bear but had a puppy dog smile.
When you saw the big, burly looking man you had to admit she wasn’t too far off in her description of him. He had an awkward, dopey looking smile. He had someone next to him, a quiet, mildly uncomfortable young man with shaggy black hair and glasses next to him. You wave, stepping over to him and trying to introduce yourselves as the siblings start their banter. “Hi, I’m (y/n). Guess you’re here with Chris?”
He looked over at you almost jumping as he’d been off in his own little world. “Oh uh, yes! My name’s Ryugaa. It’s good to meet you.” He glanced at Chris and Claire, the pair of them seeming to keep going with their back and forth, Claire play hitting Chris hard in the arm before Chris tossed his arm around Claire’s shoulder, pulling her crushingly close against him. “It seems they missed each other. Hopefully today will be something fun for all of us.”
“Of course it’s going to be fun! When aren’t amusement parks fun!?” Claire wheezed out as she pulled herself out of Chris’ grasp. “The rides and the crummy food thats going to make me feel like trash later tonight? All fun.”
“Not to mention the best part,” Chris started, taking Ryugaa’s hand as he walked into through he park entrance. “The games!”
Claire was quick to follow behind, lacing your fingers together as she dragged you along. “You mean the money stealing scams, right?”
“They’re only scams if you don’t know how to play them right.”
“I’ll believe it when I see it. Rides take top priority! The lines are just going to get longer and longer the more time we waste.”
“We get it Claire. Roller Coasters first, games later. Is that okay with you two?” Chris asked, glancing over at Ryugaa before looking over at you.
“Uh, sure. I don’t see why not!” You responded as Ryu nodded in agreement.
This was going to be a long day, you could already tell.
The first few hours at the part were pretty par for the course of things. Claire was almost giddy as she stood in the lines for every coaster with you and her brother. She practically demanding you all wait for the front row seats for the best view of everything as you screamed by. Chris always preferred the middle because their was usually a shorter wait. Once more, cue the playful bickering with you playing awkward mediator in the middle. In the end Claire got her way, you having sided with her on this. The front seats were the best on just about every coaster. Ryu himself wasn't a fan of roller coaster so he was kind enough to wait for you all with your bags and such.
By the time you all had gone on all the coasters, the sun was just sliding past its highest point. Both you and Claire had your hair windswept and looked like an absolute mess, but the grin on her face was absolutely beautiful. “That was so fun! Can we go again??” She was full of what you could only figure was childlike glee. It had definitely been awhile since you’d seen Claire this happy. Her job always bogs her down. The same could be said about Chris as well. It was nice to see the both of them not bogged down with work and the end of the world and all that.
“We can maybe go again later but it’s my turn to do something I wanna do.” Chris smirked. “Time for some games. I’m gunning for the giant Mario over there.” He pointed to the carnival game set and the ring toss with the hanging Mario plushes of various sizes.
Ryu looked at the thing and laughed. “Will that even fit in the car?”
“Probably not but we’ll figure it out.”
Claire rolled her eyes. “Like you’ll actually be able to win at these damn things. I’ll even pay for the next round if you can land anything.”
“Putting your money where your mouth is, I see? Well I’ll make you regret that. I might even win you a Luigi.”
You looked over at the pair and smiled before moving ahead of them to the stall itself. “Well, I wanna have a go at it. I wanna win you something. It might only be a crummy rubber duck, but it’ll be something.”
“While I really don’t think you guys are going to blow away my skepticism, be my guest.”
Both you and Chris handed over the money to the clearly underpaid and uncaring employee in exchange for 5 just slightly too thick rings for the bottle necks.
“Get ready to eat your words, Claire. And Maybe a Luigi plush.”
And true to Chris’s word, he was a god at these carnival games. He even taught you a thing or two and by the end of the night you had won not only a handful of rubber ducks but a small Yoshi plush as well. He had a small army of the toys, carry the bigger plushes as Ryu tried to figure out how to stuff all the smaller ones in their bags. Chris has in fact won Claire her toy as well and she didn’t seem too pleased to have been proven wrong.
“it’s kind of getting late,” She started as she stuffed the toy into her backpack. “And we should probably get Chris out of here before he wins every prize in the park.”
“Please... I don’t think there is enough room in our home for all this.” Ryu said with a sigh.
As you all made your way back towards the park entrance, you slowed down a bit, feeling your stomach grumbling. You’d all be running around so much you hadn’t even stopped to eat. “So... should we all go stop off at a fast food place or something? I’m starving.” You whined as you caught back up with everyone.
“That sounds like a great idea. I could go for a burger.”
“With what money? You spent all of our cash...” Ryu responded, sounding only mildly annoyed.
“Oh... right.”
“It’s okay Chris. You’ll just owe me one.” Claire smiled before taking your hand and walking on ahead. “And since I’m paying, I get to pick.”
“Thanks Claire...” Chris said with a bit of a dejected tone.
“Like I said. You owe me one.”

“If you ask Lena about her kids she’ll get you an extra brownie,” you tell him from the bed next to his.  These are the first words you say to him since he arrived in your room nearly a week ago.  You hadn’t found the appropriate moment to introduce yourself between his teary eyed family visiting and staying well over the allowed hours, his own crying, taking place in the middle of the night when he thought you were sleeping, and the nurses whisking him away to what you could only assume was more testing or treatment.
Lena, the nurse in question, comes in at eleven like she always does and lets you know that she’ll bring lunch soon.  She makes sure that your vitals are fine and checks what medications to bring you with lunch, even though they haven’t changed in nearly six months since you’ve taken up residence in room 4A.
As she checks your new roommate he asks, “How are your kids?” and Lena smiles at him with sincerity.  In the ten minutes she takes to tell him about her children, you study him.  He’s not that different from your previous roommates, experiencing denial of his diagnosis before extreme grief.  You’d expect less change in your roommate being in the long term ward, but everyone seems to get better and leave in just under a month, leaving you to make new friends and run through this routine over and over again.
When Lena finally leaves, he seems tired.  “Don’t worry, the extra brownie is worth it,” you tell him, and you think you can see an inkling of a smile peeking out.
“So how long are you in for?” you ask him.
He sighs.  “A long time.”  They always say that, though they’re all gone by the time you blink.
He doesn’t ask you the same question, too lost in his own misery at realizing the time he was to spend in the hospital.
“Hey,” you call out.  His head snaps up to look at you again.  “I’ve pretty much got this place hotwired.  Don’t worry, I’ll show you a good time.”  You smile at him (you quickly figured out that most people needed to see a smile rather than pity).
Lena brings the food at eleven thirty like she always does and watches as you take your medication.  Just as promised, there’s a second brownie on his tray.
When she leaves he breaks it in half and hops out of his bed.  He hands it to you, “I’m Namjoon.”  He tries for a smile despite the red rimming his eyes.  You don’t tell him, but you think his dimple suits him quite well.
“I’m Y/N.”
After lunch and after Lena has come back to check in again you ask him, “Are you allowed to leave your bed?”
He tells you yes and you climb out of your own bed before holding your hand out to him in an invitation to do the same.  Your face is adorned with a mischievous smile and for the first time in a week, Namjoon’s heartbeat rises with excitement and not fear.
You take him to the gift store.  The back has a little shelf of books that no one seems to go near.  Everyone seems to think that people want flowers or teddy bears, but you’ve found that the worst thing about the long term ward is the smell of ripe flowers and boredom.  Namjoon takes one look at the shelf of literature and his eyes light up, forgetting, at least for a little while, that he is in a hospital.
When he has selected three books that he likes, you turn him to face the clerk and whisper in his ear, “See the trick to getting these books out is quite simple.  First you go and ask Ned over there about his wife.  The poor sap will go on for a while about how much he loves his wife.  Then he’ll look at the books in your hands and you have to say with a sad smile ‘Is it okay if I stay here and read for a bit?’ ”
At this point, Namjoon’s eyebrows are furrowed in concentration.  You don’t think anyone has ever taken your plan this seriously in six months and you pause to smile, a giddy feeling engulfing you.  At your lack of words he turns to you confused only to find you staring at the crease between his brows with a smile on your face.
“What? Is there something on my face?” he asks.
You shake your head.  “No, I just have a feeling we’re going to be good friends.”
You finish telling him the plan that you’ve executed nearly a dozen times with perfection and Namjoon makes his way towards Ned with just a single book in his hands.  The other two are stuffed underneath the uncomfortable hospital required shirt you wear.  You hide behind a rack of greeting cards and watch as Namjoon charms Ned.
You can’t help but think that Namjoon is a natural at this and that the two of you could make an unstoppable pair if he ended up sticking around.
When Ned is done talking about his wife, Namjoon gives you the signal, scratching his ear, and you get ready to bolt.
Namjoon says rather loudly, “Thanks Ned!” and you know that means the unsuspecting middle aged man has deactivated the security sensor to let Namjoon “borrow” the book he was holding.  Namjoon tries to talk to him a bit longer and distract him, complimenting Ned on the flower arrangements and giving you time to make a run for the gift shop exit while the sensor was still disabled.
You wait around the corner and Namjoon arrives just a minute later, out of breath, red in his cheeks, and dimples on full display.  “Oh my god I can’t believe I did that,” he tells you, running a hand through his hair and eyes wide, his other hand clutching The Kite Runner to his chest.  You think he looks much younger like this, a childlike excitement making his features glow.
You pull the other two books out of your shirt and hand them to him, a toothy grin on your face.  “I told you I have this place hotwired.”
He reads for the two hours of your doctor mandated nap and you wake up to find that he’s already through two of the three books that you had snatched together.  You shrug and tell him, “Guess we’ll have to go again tomorrow,” and for the first time, Namjoon looks forward to another day in the long term ward.
When the sun sets and the lights in the room go on, you pull your secret stash of Uno cards out of the small stand beside your bed.  With each round you bet him your socks, future brownies, tongue depressors, and cotton balls.
Every time you lose, you sigh dramatically and reach into the stand and pull out something new from the seemingly endless amounts of random hospital supplies you have collected.  You let him win every time, just to see his dimples as you hand him another rubber glove.
After dinner and after the lights have been turned off, it’s silent.  You don’t hear him cry for the first time since he arrived.  It’s nearing midnight when he asks you, “Y/N, are you awake?”
“Yeah.”
He doesn’t say anything for a while, like he doesn’t know what to say.
“I had a lot of fun today, surprisingly.”  You hear him exhale sharply as if he is trying not to cry.
“Yeah? Well wait until you see what I have planned for tomorrow,” you tell him.  And though it’s dark, you think you can feel him smile.  And though you know he might leave you in a month or so like everyone else, you can’t help but hope that the extra brownies and the stolen books might just get him to stay.
