even if 1, 2 & nv feel too big or too empty because it's set in the desert, i prefer that a lot more than the many buildings you can't go into in 3 & 4
#haven't played 2 yet but... it looks very similar to 1#idk i think that exploring settings that really do look like a 'wasteland' and seeing how towns are created by scavenging look and feel#more interesting#rather than look! the capital is all crumbling and falling apart so cool!! or look at all the silly people living in fenway park!!#in nv 1) nv wasn't affected by the bombs 2) its the only 'large' city in the game#it looks out of place and it is and the people there still clinging to pre war life are ridiculous!#3 & 4 (4 mostly) cling so much to 'WOW look how everything is so different from the retrofuturism of the life before'#where 1 feels more like it is 'set' in the post-apocalyptic world with minimal references to the past bc it doesn't matter in the end#that world is gone#aldjkas sorry more ramblings on these games but i really did make a 'choice' playing all of them backwards basically
