Well a several year saga of my life that i didnt know was a saga just ended. moderately uninteresting story under read more.
For years, i kept hearing a sound in my room, that i didnt know what it was, but to me it sounded like squirrels skurrying in the attic or roof or smthn. It never seemed like a problem, so i never mentioned it, because i have a fuckton more to think about than something thats a bit distracting at night, and honestly im too forgetful for my own good anyways.
But about a month ago, my mom came into my room for some reason, and pointed it out, and i told her what i thought it was. Shes hella smart though, and p much straight up said its my ceiling fan.
I never considered this as an option, and i kinda went ok sure, not much i can do about that though, cause my brother's ceiling fan was completely broke for years, and we had plenty of conversations over the years about how the type of fan he'd need (and i, coincidently) is just too expensive, and thats a big reason he, a certified electrician, hasnt fixed it yet.
So after this conversation with my mom, my brother looked into actually buying the fans, and turns out, theyre not quite as expensive as he thought.
He installed both of them yesterday.
The sound's gone, and suddenly i have airflow in my room, which i had assumed was due to some sort of issue with the vent system in our house, cause we already know the electricity is wired weird.
I guess moral of the story, is sometimes its your ceiling fan? Or that maybe you shouldnt assume something is too expensive? Maybe it's sometimes you can have several problems that seem different but have the same cause?
Idk, i cleaned my desk yesterday and now im just glad to be in my nice clean space with working air conditioning.
I missed the sound last night, though, i had gotten used to it lol.
