If I had a nickel for every fictional character I've encountered who has 2 or more dads they're technically genetically related to, but only 1 or 0 moms, I'd have....a very puzzling number of nickels
#I mean Samus Aran doesn't entirely count bc she needed the alien DNA to survive and all that but the rest are fucking baffling#anyhow why is this trope popping up more frequently and why do I think I know the answer and therefore think I don't want to know the answe#I don't think it's a bad trope by any means#in fact I don't think writers have tapped the potential of either the fantasy or scifi genre when it comes to bonkers parental relationship#but it's also wild that I've encountered ''multiple bio parents'' as a plot device....thrice now#like as a means of creating a weird plot twist--which is never explored more deeply by the characters. So far#absolutely wild#pulling up a lawn chair and getting a cup of tea ready so I can watch the fireworks if they occur#oracle of lore
