"That may be true, but it would be poor manners to not offer you aide." Lazarus' response is a somber monotone, though he makes no immediate gesture that implies he would invade the other man's personal space quite yet. This world he found himself in, with its vast seas and scattered islands, turned out to be as rife with strange beasts as Luxendarc had been. Ocean dwelling monsters just as ready to ambush the unwary, which he had admittedly fallen prey to in a moment of distraction.

Having a stranger put themselves in harm's way, to deftly cut down the monster when he had hesitated, had been equally unexpected. Nobody had ever tried to defend him before. He had always been strong and quick enough to hold his own but then, this was not Luxendarc. Things were different here. "Allow me, please." Motioning to the trickle of blood down the other's shoulder, where he had been pierced by sharpened quills from the sea beast. It had been a very odd mix of animals.

Lazarus is calm and attentive, sanguine red eyes taking in the swordsman's likeness. He could not help but see a strange sort of resemblance between them both; though he would not comment upon it. "Your skills are impressive, and I am grateful for your help too." He says after a pause, glancing briefly to the great two-handed blade that Mihawk wielded.
