The Moonflower is a large, spiky leafed plant with pretty white flowers with petals that twist to create beautiful and uniquely shaped flowers. Rare in most places, this plant can be uncommonly found in twoleg gardens, and most notably, very commonly in the clan territories. While many consider this plant to be pretty and useful for little else, that is strictly untrue. The whole plant, most specifically the seeds, hold a powerful poison in them. Those who consume the plant, and have survived, claim to have seen things not truly there, to have forgotten the time they spent under the effects of this plant. Most important, however, is the victim's willingness to comply, their susceptibility to persuasion. Anything told to those under the effect of the Moonflower will almost certainly be heard and be agreed with, regardless of how stubborn that cat would normally be otherwise. Because of this, the Moonflower is heavily sought after in the Twolegplace to those who know of its effects, the ability to persuade anyone of almost anything a power many want, including the Overseer.

Plentiful in Zephyrclan's old territory, Iceberry, the clan's medicine cat at the time, had decided to test the herb to see if it had any uses. Once she discovered its effects and the potential it had as a weapon, she informed Zephyrstar in private about the herb. Both agreed the plant was dangerous, and decided to keep the effects a secret from the clan. Zephyrstar commanded Iceberry to destroy any of the plant she saw, and the matter seemed to end there. However, Iceberry saw opportunity in the plant, and kept a small stash of the seeds to herself.

When the clan evacuated, Iceberry brought with her the seeds, along with a few herbs. As she saw her leader's health decline, she soon knew that the clan was to be doomed. With no deputy and the only heirs being Blueheart and Redsky, she decided that she would need to leave. It wouldnt be safe with a clan anymore, Starclan didnt need to tell her that for her to know. So, when Zephyrstar did pass on and they arrived at the new territory, she left the clan to find someplace she could thrive. It didnt take long, as a loner group in the twolegplace was happy enough to take her in.

One could only assume how she rose to power in that group so fast. Perhaps the loners saw something in her, or knew she was a cat who once held power. Or, more likely, she had put the seeds to good use. Regardless of one may believe, Iceberry soon became the leader of the group, and had begun to collect followers. The power the seeds held made her want more power. Renaming herself the Overseer, she began plotting her rise to power, eventually having kits and giving birth to Helen. Iceberry knew she wouldnt live to see her full rise to power, and so began to teach her only kit how to succeed her, the power the Moonflower held. It didnt take long for Helen to understand. It took even less time for her to use the seeds for her own goals, and soon enough, Iceberry had suddenly stepped down, with the new Overseer taking her place. Iceberry passed away shortly after, the reason as to why still unknown.

Overseer had little concern over the loner group she had inherited. All she cared of was the stories of power her mother had told her, and she knew that her key to it all was in the Moonflower. The supplies of the herb were extremely low, and so Overseer sent cats to find the plant. It didnt take long for cats to return with the news, that the plant was plentiful in the clan territories, but the wars happening everyday made it difficult to get to. It was then the Overseer had a plan, and send cats to offer a deal: She would supply cats to fight their wars, as long as her cats had access to the territory. Both leaders were oblivious to the plant growing in their land, and agreed to the offer immediately. Overseer's cats were commanded to gather the herb, and so began the game of Overseer keeping the stalemate going as long as possible, in order for her to continue collecting and denying others the abilities of the Moonflower.
