I am trying to understand why ppl are so disappointed about book 3 and I just can’t 😭 I feel like book 1 and 2 really set up what sort of expectations we should have. I love the story but she’s never been an amazing writer???

i mean i did pay for a competent story 😭 not the best story, but a competent story at the very least 😭

#look i never thought she was a good writer BUT i always appreciated the effort going into the actual worldbuilding #i was also VERY willing to forgive general plot weirdness if the overall story MADE SENSE #and like. in book 1 and 2 they aren't the best if's out there but the plots make sense. the antagonists make sense #in book 3 stuff just. happens. it's a bunch of infodumps about way/haven smashed in between romantic scenes #nothing feels intentional #it's just a smorgasboard of plot/romance beats she wanted to get through. and she definitely did it!#i totally get where you're coming from tbh but i think that a lot of our expectations were average #and she literally did not even hit that point for us #i think also a lot of us really liked the potential in the demo – and the second half of the book is just nothing like that #it's a completely different book. genuinely some of the worst whiplash ever #asks #twc book 3 #twc book 3 spoilers #twc spoilers
