Do you think Helaena marrying Jace would have done anything to prevent the war happening or would have things played out more or less the same?

depends on how much the greens are invested in helaena and her safety. assuming they agreed to the marriage between her and jace in the first place, i'd like to think much of the war would be avoided because it solves the issue of having two separate branches vying for the throne and the issue of not being "legitimate" enough on jace's part if helaena it's also co-ruling with him.

of course this is wishful thinking in the most part and i'm not considering more nitpicky stuff like: but what if aemond or aegon or daeron's children don't care etc etc or what if otto and his supporters consider helaena as lost and /still/ try to make aegon happen. this last thing might meet more internal opposition but ultimately i don't think there's much alicent could do for helaena.

my idealistic & naive sides says yes at the end of the day tho. i think they'd be really cute together.
