#came back for a beat as I watched friendiversary and wanted to share my thoughts 👀#the torture device bit at the end was a bit ehhh for me#like why was THAT the reason sponge remembered him??#but sponge attaching the formula to squid so he'd “never forget it” was honestly sweet#and everything else was GOLD#imo it's just another piece of evidence that squid truly feels something for sponge#but is actively running from it to the point where it drives him insane#if sponge ignores him he goes crazy if sponge is obsessed with him he goes crazy lmao#this episode was one of the first times we've seen this on full display#no amount of physical torture will compare to the deep inner conflict squid experiences re: his true feelings for sponge#if only he'd allow himself to love and be loved!!#i feel like this only further cements the points i made in my reigisa x squidbob masterpost tbh#which you all should totes read!#spongey is in LOVE though for sure#like fantasizing about living with squid in his sleep? the fucking scrapbook?
