Sounds of Detroit: Celebrating 50 Years of J Dilla featuring The Pharcyde, Rich Medina, and more at Herbert Von King Park
On Friday, July 12, 2024, SummerStage, in association with Fusicology & Future x Sounds, presented a free show in Herbert Von King Park in Brooklyn in celebration of producer J Dilla’s 50th birthday. There were DJ sets from Breakbeat Lou and Rich Medina plus live performances by Detroit’s Slum Village (J Dilla was a member of the group) and South Central Los Angeles’ The Pharcyde, whose sophomore album, Labcabincalifornia, was produced by J Dilla and released in 1995.
I covered the celebration concert on Friday night for BrooklynVegan and the full gallery is now available on their website here.

Behold, my main, then and now (early ARR and currently during DT)! My first ever Warrior of Light, my favorite, the one with all the stuff and achievements:
Imani Camoa
she/her
Race: Rava Viera
Age: 32 (at the start of ARR)
Canon jobs: Dragoon, Red Mage, Gunbreaker and Astrologian
Imani grew up in an isolated Viera village in the Golmore Jungle. While they were mostly unthreatened by the Garlean Empire at this point her people watched the red moon Dalamud fall from the sky from the relative safe distance of their ancestral home. Only after did Imani start to experience strange dreams of foreign lands and a disembodied voice whispering to her. Feeling this strange invisible force pull her towards the west she made the decision to follow it, knowing full well she could never return home...
I could write on forever about her and I will probably be posting more of her story and her personal experiences soon but first it's time to introduce the others as well.

Royal Love +epilogue 👑❤️
Summary: M'baku is a 19 year old prince who will soon take the throne of jabariland. His father has arranged a marriage for him as it has been a tradition for years but, Mbaku is not happy. One day he meets a stunning girl named y/n and his life changes in the blink of an eye.
Mbaku Pov🤎:
I was awakened by the voice of my two guards Amina and Imani. "My prince, wake up. We have very important things scheduled for today." Amina said. "I've already sent for your breakfast to be prepared. It should be done by the time you finish getting ready." Imani added. "Thank you Amina and Imani." I thanked them. They nodded in response. They left my room so that I could get ready. I brushed my teeth, washed my face, took a shower and got dressed in my royal attire for today. I've just turned 19 only two weeks ago and my father is already hassling me about an arranged marriage. I wish to find my own wife but no matter how many times I bring it up he doesn't listen. I made my way downstairs and ate breakfast with my parents. "Mbaku I've found a wife for you. Her name is princess Sarai from the merchant tribe." my dad told me happily. *here we go again* I thought. "Father I've already told you. I'm not marrying her." I said annoyed. "It's tradition. You're about to become king, no? You can't become king without a wife. "IM NOT MARRYING HER!" I yelled. I'm so angry at my father all he seems to care about is the throne and to him, anything outside of that is irrelevant. "Ay you dare to speak to your father this way eh? The marriage is happening in three days end of discussion." My father spat.
When nightfall came I packed all of my things and brought along food and weapons. I planned to run away from the palace. *i can't be forced to marry someone if I'm not here* I thought.
*timeskip for 1 hour*
By now, I was long gone from my kingdom leaving behind my family, tribe, and the throne. I needed to make a point to my father that he can't control me. I'm 19 I should have the right to make MY own decisions especially when it comes to marriage. It was nightfall when I saw a girl walking through the village. Her s/c( skin color) glistened in the moonlight. Her long locs of hair touched all the way to the middle of her back. "Can I help you?" She asked knocking me out of my trance. "Y-yeah. Can you tell me where I am? I've come from jabariland." I asked her. "Sure. You're in the mahi village which is not too far from the molwheni clan" the mystery girl replied. ( A/N: not sure if that's real it's the first thing I thought of 💀). "Do you have anywhere to stay?" She added. "No. Can you tell me the directions to a place?" I asked. I didn't want to trouble her but I also needed somewhere to stay. "Come." The girl replied while offering her hand. I took it and she led us to a large hut house near a waterfall. "This is my house. If you wish, You may stay here for however long you need. I don't want you going off by yourself this late at night." The girl told me. "Thank you. My name is Mbaku. What's yours?" I asked her. "My name is y/n nice to meet you." Y/n replied. "Nice to meet you as well" I told her. We were getting to know each other and I explained why I'd come here.
Y/n pov✨: i normally don't let people stay with me but Mbaku seems nice and I didn't want him out this late at night. When it gets late it's very dangerous and I wouldn't want him to get hurt. We talked for a little and I learned that he was a prince. We talked and eventually fell asleep.
*timeskip to one week*
Mbaku has been staying here with me for a week now and I enjoy his company. I've always lived alone and it was nice to have someone to talk and spend time with. Unfortunately, he is leaving to go back with his kingdom. I have developed strong feelings for him but I feel its way too early for a relationship at the moment. I helped mbaku pack his things and got ready to walk him out. "Y/n Wait i have to talk to you before I go" he spoke. "I'm listening" I told him. "It's only been a week but it feels like I've known you forever. I have strong feelings for you and you're the only person who has made me feel this much happiness in a long time. Would you like to come back to jabariland with me?" Mbaku spoke. I thought about it for a second while taking everything in. "Yes I'd love to come with you under one condition" I responded. He looked up at me to let me know he was listening. "Can we get to know each other more before any relationship between us? I don't want us to move too fast." I added. "Yes princess anything for you. I need a wife to become king but that is the least of my concern right now. I genuinely want to be with you and Im willing to wait however long it takes until you're ready." Mbaku replied. The both of started to walk back to jabariland as we held hands and talked.
Mbaku Pov🤎:
*Timeskip*
By now y/n and I had made it back to jabariland. She suggested that we both share a room due to her not being familiar with the palace (a/n: y/n didn't want to be by herself) and of course I agreed. While y/n was preparing for bed I went to go speak with my mother. I didn't even want to look at my father let alone speak to him. When it came to marriage and things in general, my mother has always been more understanding than my father. When we talked, I explained to her where I went, why I left, and the reason I didn't want to marry princess Sarai. She understood where I was coming from and she agreed to talk to my father about it. I made my way back to me and y/n's room where I found her already asleep. I took a shower, brushed my teeth and face, and changed into my sleepwear. Afterwards, I got in the bed and snuggled close to y/n and dozed off to sleep.
A/n: i don't feel like putting a bunch of different pov's and time skips and I also didn't wanna leave y'all on a cliffhanger so i wrote a epilogue😭
Epilogue: y/n and mbaku dated for about 2 years and 6 months before they got married. M'baku's mom talked to his dad and after some time he agreed to call off the planned wedding for princess Saraí and mbaku. Instead, mbaku and y:n got married and a bunch of gifts were given to them by the people of their tribe. They received clothes, jewelry, etc. about 6 months after their wedding y/n discovered that she was pregnant. She had birthed one girl and one boy. Mbaku and y/n named them g/n and b/n( girl name and boy name. it can be any name you want btw). Y/n and mbaku both ruled as king and queen until their son b/n became old enough to inherit the throne. Their daughter was next in line but she had chosen to be a warrior instead of a ruler.
A/n: thats it for this imagine but the next one will be about tchalla since I haven't done anything about him yet so stay tuned! Hopefully you enjoyed this imagine and let me know what you would like to see more of, comments, etc.

Amara Estancia & The Throne Built on Secrets
As I sit in the twilight of my reign, pen poised over pages that have yet to bear witness to the truth, I am compelled to recount the journey that led me here. It is not for absolution or sympathy, but for the record of history—so that the legacy of my efforts might be understood in their full context.
Born in the stark village of Ashmont, my childhood was defined by a relentless environment that taught me early on about survival and ambition. The austere landscape was both a cradle and a crucible, forging a resolve in me that was as unyielding as the cliffs surrounding my early world. I outgrew Ashmont quickly, my aspirations extending far beyond its confines.
My ambition led me to a forbidden path—a dark pact that promised more than mere survival: it offered a throne. The ancient entity that whispered promises of power was my benefactor and my curse. This pact was my ascension and shackles, providing the means to rise to power but binding me to an eternal game of shadows.
The demise of my husband, the king, marked my true rise to power. It was a calculated act, born of necessity rather than malice. His death was not an act of passion but a strategic move to secure my position and implement my vision for Briarwisp. As queen, I wore the dual veils of benevolence and ruthlessness, each as necessary as the other in the art of governance.
Perhaps the darkest of my deeds was the curse laid upon my daughter, Tijani. It was meant to bind her to my will, to secure my legacy through her. Yet, it was this act that would eventually lead to the unraveling of all I had built. I did not foresee that my granddaughters, shielded from the magical world, would one day return to Briarwisp, their powers awakening to the truth of their heritage.
Imani, Jade, and Jasmine—each a bearer of formidable magic—pieced together the mosaic of secrets and spells that was their legacy. It was their quest for truth that peeled back the layers of my carefully constructed sovereignty, exposing the foundation of darkness upon which it was built.
Now, as I reflect upon my reign, I see the cost of power, the weight of the crown, and the echoes of choices that reverberate through generations. My story is not one of simple villainy but a complex web of necessity, ambition, and the deep, often painful, love for my kingdom and my family.
These writings are not an apology- my life required decisions that many may never forgive. Instead, they are an explanation, a hope that in understanding my motives, the shadows of my actions might be seen as part of a larger narrative of survival and sovereignty in a world that respects only power.

( @valkyrie-of-the-rising-sun )
A hopefully quick debrief of the very self indulgent Supernatural Au!!!
How it started: I literally was just thinking about Sasha, and if he was a mermaid. Literally couldn't stop thinking about it, bc Sasha already is so fun to think about, but him as a man eating mermaid? Impossible to ignore.
What came after: I don't remember the exact events that lead to it, but at some point 1) I started to imagine what my other ocs would be like as monsters and 2) my friend Rowan ( @eclysia ) added Asfrith to the table ( bc at this point, Asfrith being tied to Sasha or ( especially) Isador was always a given, hehe) as a researcher of sorts of monsters. He uh. Was almost drowned by Sasha before Sasha thought it would be very funny to let him live. And thus started....whatever they got going on. Because Isador is Devil in Paragon, I thought it'd make sense if the twins were both demons in this au, and by proxy, Flynn. I could go into deeper detail but the main gist is that things Expanded than just " omg Mermaid Sasha he's so hot".
How's it going: While the world building is super set in stone, I'm honestly having fun here lol. Au's are great for showing sides of characters that aren't usually shown in canon. The post about Teddy is a big example.
I know this was supposed to be short but lemme breakdown the characters so far reaaaal quick:
Sasha: Mermaid. Favorites past time is sinking ships, eating humans, and looking amazing. Is currently having fun with his new little play thang ( Asfrith). Was planning on killing him when he finally gets bored but uh. Maybe not?
Isador: One half of the Arkwright Twins, he's still a grumpy bitch, but when business calls, he knows how to put on a performance~ Got connected to Asfrith when he summoned the two for a deal. Instead of taking Asfrith's soul like Isador wanted, Teddy instead offered to look after their cousin Flynn, hence, the two becoming more connected than Isador thought would be necessary.
Teddy: The other half of the Arkwright Twins, and is usually considered the friendly options. It doesn't help that he looks more angelic compared to his brother: no he's not half angel, he just looks like that. Great for business, easier to lure people into a false sense of security- Ahem. A sweetheart who can and will go on a rampage if you dare hurt his family. May or may not be a bit of gremlin. Who's to say ( Isador. Isador is to say)
Flynn: The twins younger cousin, a kitsune that is often in disguise in the village where this whole thing is taking place. She's terribly shy, and has low self confidence, much preferring to be away from the attention. Her parents believe they have power over the village - they don't - and often pester Flynn to do something in order to increase their- I mean her status. Really, her only solis her cousins, and bc of their business they tend to be too busy to visit. It's a lonely life, but she's fine....at least, she think she is until two humans(?) show up in her life
Imani: The only human of my ocs so far! Well not really, but I'll explain that later. Her story isn't fully fleshed out, but she's Asfrith self appointed assistant! She happens to hang out with monsters more often than not, even getting along with those she really really shouldn't be! But it's okay, more friends means a greater time!
Arrow: I'm still not sure but I'm working on it I swear! Maybe a harpy, but still gotta think about it.
Other ocs: So, this au is actually a build up on the old mermaid au I had featuring Leo and the reborn gang. Given how I didn't exactly want to get rid of it, I just decided that the old au and this au are the same thing, with different things happening to different people. They don't all have to know each other, these stories are, for the most part, separate but within the same time and place, basically. Aaaand. Yeah!
This was not short at all! Lmao. Hoped it was decent context though. Probably not, since it. Doesn't fully explain Teddy. Ah well.

[ IMAGE ID:
A digitally drawn character reference sheet for an original character, Scarlet Omondi. On the left, Scarlet is posing with full shading and highlights. She is dark-skinned woman floating above a sigil brimming with scarlet-colored flames. She looks to be in her early adulthood. She has straight hair that extends to her neck and is colored dark black, dyed purple in the middle and pink at the end. She is dressed in a purple witch's robe with bell sleeves and a matching witch hat, the latter of which is also partially alight with scarlet-colored flames. The robe splits in the middle, revealing a slip in a lighter shade of purple.
She also wears a pendant with 3 small round dark magenta gemstones, a belt with a large silver buckle engraved with a picture of a crow, dark gloves with more magenta gemstones on the center of each back hand, plum-colored tights, and knee-length black boots with medium-sized metal block heels.
She is looking toward you with a determined smile. Her left hand is extended out toward you, with a bright fireball the size of her palm blazing in the center. Her right hand holds a leather-case book. The title reads, "Harnessing Magic, 4th edition, by Imani Kariuki".
At the top-left is Scarlet Omondi's name, written in curved letters. The first S is styled like a lombardic capital (the first letters in European medieval age manuscripts), with a box bright reddish colors in the black adorned by a scarlet gemstone border. Below the name are Scarlet's pronouns, she/her.
At the top-right is an excerpt of Scarlet Omondi's story. Begin story:
"A witch in training, channeling her passion made flame. Headstrong & well-read, Scarlet’s unrelenting determination to ace her exams is matched only by her unbound curiosity to learn about the magical world around her. Born an overachiever, Scarlet does everything and anything she thinks of to put on talent shows and creative projects that roar with energy and ludicrously deep research. After a blinding lightshow of pyromancy, Scarlet forever ignited her reputation as the talk of the village, but not without a scathing mark on her school record.
Despite her lasting impression as a hot shot, Scarlet’s friends know her as endearingly geeky bookworm, a cauldron of humor, and most of all, an ever-reliable textbook and study partner. Even so, Scarlet’s self-control and workaholic tendencies remained unlearnt life lessons… until she met a transfer student and nurtured the mellow side that no book could write in words." End story.
Below the story box are Scarlet's likes, dislikes, and identifiers. Scarlet likes reading outside, talent shows, painting, fashion, and pastries. She does not like egotists, messes, rain, poorly-written romance, and distractions. She is 5 feet and 7 inches tall, or 170 centimeters. She weighs 138 pounds, or 63 kilograms. She is 19 years old, and her birthday is on April 9th.
In the middle of the image are 3 sketches. The first depicts Scarlet with circle-framed glasses and her mouth open, revealing a small fang. She is excitedly talking about one of her new favorite creations, indicated by a speech bubble. The next shows Scarlet posing back to back with a friend, who has straight hair as long as her body, two horns made of ice, a teardrop shaped gem embedded on her forehead, and a snow-patterned kimono with oversized sleeves. The last sketch shows Scarlet coming up with an idea, with her hand on her chin in a thinking pose, and an exclamation mark above her head. There is text next to her that reads, "Hat fires up when focusing or excited".
On the right of the image are two designs pertaining to her accessories. The first is her primary sigil, used to channel most of her magic. It is made of 7 letters, reshaped and put together to resemble an active fire. The letters are P, S, N, M, D, F, and L, borrowed from this phrase and Scarlet's desire, "Passion made flame". The second is a close up of her belt buckle, showing a more detailed design of the same crow.
On the bottom-right of the image are 3 full body drawings of Scarlet, drawn in different angles and with flat colors. She is drawn facing forward, to the side, and backward. She holds the same pose in each, with a neutral expression, standing up straight, and relaxing her left arm while extending her right arm slightly out to the side.
Finally, in small letters on the bottom-left of the image, is the artist's signature, Zettaflake.
/. END ID ]

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to be back!
Scarlet Omondi, the passion made flame, ignites her debut as character sheet #6!
An emerging witch brimming with a library's worth of knowledge and a personality hot to the touch. She's a free pass to ace your exams, if you can handle the heat!
As for the transfer student she met... she's up next, muahaha >:)

Imani (Faith):
Imani, celebrated on the seventh day of Kwanzaa (December 31st), stands for "Faith" in Swahili. This principle, pronounced Eee-maun-ee, emphasizes faith in our people, parents, teachers, leaders, and the collective struggle of the African-American community. Imani calls for a deep and enduring belief in the communal values, culture, and the resilience of the community.
Imani is more than just religious faith; it's about a profound commitment to the African-American community and its future. It involves believing in the righteousness and victory of the struggle for liberation and a higher level of human life. This principle also underscores the importance of having faith in oneself and one's capabilities to contribute positively to the community and to foster progress.
The principle of Imani brings Kwanzaa to a close, reinforcing the idea that faith is essential for sustaining the work and unity established in the previous principles. It is a reminder that belief in each other and in the collective goals is crucial for achieving lasting change and progress. Signifying a renewal of faith in the community, its values, and its future. It's a day to reflect on the achievements and challenges of the past and to look forward with optimism and confidence to the future.

since your sim requests are open, I'll request this: A female werewolf that would be classed as a peppy villager (according to the ac wiki: energetic, excited, and ditzy, embodying the valley girl stereotype) in animal crossing, is a slob and likes to do embroidery but is bad at it. Curly hair, imperfect teeth. Hairy ! (a little mustache is fine too) She is fond of clowns, metal music and likes beekeeping. A little chubby.

Headcanon Info. About Original Mysticons
Note: As I will be discussing character deaths (i.e. how the original Mysticons died) this is dark. I know I have given them names before, but as I never made sure to keep them consistent, I thought I'd go through them. The info. will come from official sources when possible, but a lot has to be made up.
DRAGON MAGE: As we know, she is a human female named Imani Firewing. She was initially a very friendly person, but living through the hardships of being a Mysticon, including losing her closest friends, took its toll on her, slowly making her more serious. She lived to be in her mid to late thirties, and lost her life in the final battle with Necrafa.
RANGER: All we know about him for sure is that he's a human male. I will give him the name Antoine Oakroad. He was charismatic and athletic, and took his role as a hero seriously, to the point he was harsh with his fellow Mysticons. He was the first Mysticon killed, losing a battle against a horde of dragons that were attacking a village near Drake City. He was around 24 when this happened.
STRIKER: All we know is that she's an elvish female. I will give her the name Shava Siannodel (named after my first Dungeons and Dragons character). She was the brains of the group, and while she kept to herself in childhood, slowly warmed up to those she considered friends, like her fellow Mysticons. She lost her life due to a rare genetic elvish disease when she was 132 (I know the wikia says that she died due to the spectral hand, but the Wikia is wrong sometimes, and there's nothing official that says that).
KNIGHT: All we know about him is that he is a dwarvish male. I will give him the name Flint Greatbear. He was a bit of a prankster in the group, and never took anything too seriously. However, as time went on, he became more serious. While Flint and Imani didn't originally get along, they became closer as time went on, being great friends at the end. He was killed in a battle with Undead Spectres roughly a year before Imani.

Where? Aurora Bay Ball Who? @callum-ene
Imani was having a great time. She had plenty to drink, had eaten far to many treats, and was loving the music and the change of scenery. She had never really had an opportunity to dress up before, and tonight she was definitely feeling like she belonged in a castle. She knew she wasn’t princess material...so she felt more like the lucky villager who snuck into the ball. Looking around, her eyes landed on the last person she expected to see. Running right up to Callum she smiled. “Well look at you! Damn. Out here making Calvin Klein nervous. Your male-modeling-ass-self.” She smiled and touched his tie. “I didn’t think I’d see you here!”

Chapter 3: Different venues in Fashion
Mirror Palais Spring 2023
New York Fashion week
Models: Euphoria‘s Jesse Andrews and models Cindy Kimberly and Imani Randolph.
For New York Fashion Week, Mirror Palais showcased their Spring/Summer 2023 collection in a West Village church. Designer Marcelo Gaia built on his brand's exotic aesthetic with a breathtaking exhibition of spectacular gowns and ethereal translucent skirts and veils. Although many of his clothes are deemed revealing, none felt vulgar to display in the church because Gaia's inherently luxurious and simultaneously nostalgic designs quickly conjured up a sense of splendor that would easily suit an Italian gothic period.

"Discovering Heritage: The Enchanted Forest Adventure"
The sun dipped below the horizon, casting an orange glow over the quaint village. A sudden gust of wind blew through the cobblestone streets, as if beckoning Alex. They had heard whispers about their family's hidden past and were determined to uncover the truth. Little did they know that this pursuit would lead them to a world beyond their wildest imagination. Standing at the edge of town, Alex hesitated for a moment before plunging into the mysterious woods. The dense foliage seemed to close in around them, as if trying to hide something. As they ventured deeper, they stumbled upon an ancient stone monument carved with symbols from various mythologies. The air crackled with energy, and a voice echoed through the trees: "You've been chosen, Alex. You must find Elyndra's sanctuary." Their mind raced with questions and doubts, but the urgency of the task compelled them to continue. They crossed paths with a wise old woman who revealed that she was once an ally of Elyndra and provided guidance on their quest. "You must gather the sacred artifacts from each world," she advised, "and bring them to the sanctuary." As they journeyed, Alex encountered creatures from Greek nymphs to Norse trolls, each with its own unique challenge. Through patience and cunning, they managed to overcome these obstacles, forging unexpected friendships along the way. Finally, they reached the hidden sanctuary, and Elyndra herself appeared before them. Her voice was filled with gratitude and determination: "Thank you, Alex. Together, we will prevent the catastrophic event that threatens all realms." And so, united by destiny, they embarked on a new chapter of their lives, knowing that their choices would reverberate through the fabric of existence. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Alex and Aelius set up camp for the night. The fireside conversation turned to the potential consequences of their journey. "We must be prepared for the long-lasting effects our decisions will have," Aelius cautioned. Alex listened intently, their gaze fixed on the flickering flames. "And we'll need to make difficult choices, knowing that they might affect not only ourselves but others as well." They took a deep breath and added, "But sometimes, the right path isn't easy, is it?" In a world where mythologies collide, Alex stood at the crossroads of destiny, their heart pounding in anticipation. "We must find Elyndra's sanctuary," they muttered, recalling the prophecy that had brought them here. Their eyes darted between the monsters emerging from different realms - a Minotaur roared from Greek mythology, a Nuckelavee slithered in from Celtic lore, and a Zmeu hissed menacingly from Slavic folklore. "We can't face them alone," Alex whispered to their friend, Imani. "But we have no choice." With a determined glare, they stepped forward, the air crackling with energy as their newfound powers manifested. "Stay close!" Imani warned, her voice barely audible above the chaos. As they charged into battle, Alex felt their connection to the legendary figures of their heritage grow stronger. The Minotaur's horn clashed against a summoned weapon, its roots in ancient Greece clear. The Nuckelavee's breath froze the air, a reminder of its origin from the chilly depths of Scotland. And the Zmeu's fiery tail whipped dangerously, echoing tales of Slavic enchantments. "We can do this!" Imani shouted, her voice cutting through the cacophony. Alex nodded, their resolve unwavering. "But we must choose wisely," they added, knowing that some sacrifices were inevitable. Together, they fought side by side, learning from each other's strengths and overcoming their weaknesses. In the end, as the dust settled and the monsters retreated to their respective realms, Alex and Imani stood victorious. They knew the journey was far from over, but with newfound confidence in their heritage and each other, they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. As Alex and Imani stood at the crossroads of destiny, they knew that their journey had only just begun. The chaos caused by the monsters from different mythologies still lingered in the air, a reminder of the battles yet to be fought. They exchanged knowing glances, their shared experiences bonding them even closer. "We need to find Elyndra's sanctuary," Alex whispered, her voice filled with determination. "But we can't do it alone." Imani nodded, a fierce resolve in her eyes. "We must gather allies from each mythology. We are stronger together." Together, they embarked on a journey to unite the descendants of different mythologies, forging alliances and learning about their shared heritage. As they ventured through enchanted forests, crossed treacherous mountains, and sailed across vast oceans, they faced challenges that tested their strength, intelligence, and courage. In one city, they encountered a Minotaur who sought redemption for its violent past. In another, they met a Banshee whose prophetic cries foretold the future but brought despair to those who heard them. Each encounter taught them more about themselves and their place in the world of mythologies. Their greatest challenge came when they faced off against a creature composed of elements from all the mythologies – a living embodiment of chaos. As they battled this monstrous amalgamation, they realized that only by embracing their diverse heritage could they hope to defeat it. In the end, they succeeded, and the creature was vanquished. As the sun set on another day, Alex and Imani stood victorious, their hearts filled with pride and gratitude for the friendships they had formed along the way. They knew that their destinies were intertwined, and that together they could face any challenge that came their way. Alex stood at the edge of the dense forest, gazing into the unknown with determination in their eyes. "Imani," they called out, "Do you think we're ready for this?" Their companion, a fierce warrior from Norse mythology, nodded confidently. "We have trained long and hard for this moment. Together, we can face anything." With that, the two friends plunged into the heart of the forest, following the faint whisper of a prophecy. As they ventured deeper, they encountered creatures from ancient tales, each more fearsome than the last. "Remember what Grandmother Elyndra said," Alex whispered to Imani as they fought off a minotaur from Greek legend. "Our ancestry unites us, and our courage will see us through." As they battled their way through the forest, they discovered that their lineage was far more intertwined than they had ever imagined. They were descendants of heroes from multiple mythologies, each with unique abilities and strengths. As they embraced this truth, they found that they could wield the power of all these legends as one. "We need to find Elyndra's sanctuary," Alex declared, their voice echoing through the forest. "Only there can we uncover the secrets of our lineage and secure our destinies." With newfound resolve, they pressed onward, determined to protect each other and the world from the chaos that threatened to engulf it. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Alex and Imani emerged from the forest, their bond stronger than ever. They knew that their journey had only just begun, but they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. Together, they stood at the crossroads of destiny, ready to write their own legend in the annals of time. Alex took a deep breath, standing tall in the midst of the monstrous beasts that surrounded them. "Imani," they began, "We have come so far, but there's still so much more to learn about our heritage and ourselves." Imani nodded, her eyes blazing with determination. "Together, we will face whatever comes our way," she vowed, gripping her weapon tightly. Suddenly, a creature unlike any they had ever seen emerged from the shadows. Its body was a twisted fusion of creatures from different mythologies, making it nearly impossible to identify its origins. Alex and Imani exchanged a glance, understanding that this creature represented the ultimate challenge. "We must work together, more than ever," Alex said, their voice steady despite the fear coursing through them. "I trust you, Imani. We will face this monster as one." Imani smiled, her eyes filled with resolve. "And we will triumph," she promised. With a mighty roar, the creature charged at them, its monstrous form a blend of terror and mystery. In the heat of battle, Alex realized that their journey was not just about discovering their heritage; it was also about forging a bond with Imani that transcended mythologies. As the creature fell before them, they knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, united by their shared experiences and unwavering trust in one another. Alex couldn't believe their eyes as they stared at the ancient tome in front of them. The pages, filled with intricate illustrations and arcane symbols, seemed to hold the key to unlocking their true identity. It was then that Alex noticed a faint line of text hidden among the drawings. They traced it carefully with their finger, and as they did so, the words began to glow, revealing a cryptic message: "When the sun sets on the twelfth night, seek out Elyndra's sanctuary." Alex looked up from the tome, feeling a shiver run down their spine. They knew that they had to find this mysterious sanctuary, but where to start? That was when Imani, the fierce warrior from Norse mythology, appeared beside them. Her eyes were filled with determination, and her sword at her side seemed to gleam in the dim light. "We must journey together," she declared, her voice resolute. "Together, we will face whatever challenges come our way." Alex nodded, knowing that they had found a valuable ally in Imani. They set out on their quest, facing monsters from different mythologies and learning about the rich tapestry of their heritage. As they neared the end of their twelfth night, Alex and Imani stood victorious at the crossroads of destiny, confident in their heritage and each other's abilities. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the ancient city. Alex and Imani stood side by side atop a crumbling wall, gazing out over the twilight skyline. "Do you ever wonder why we were drawn together?" Alex asked, breaking the silence. Imani turned to face her companion, her eyes reflecting the fading light. "We are two halves of the same whole," she replied with certainty. "Our shared heritage binds us, and our differing backgrounds make us stronger." Alex nodded, a sense of resolve washing over them both. They had come so far, but the challenges they faced were far from over. The cryptic message from the ancient text had led them here, but they knew that Elyndra's sanctuary was just the beginning. In the distance, a faint howl pierced the air. Imani's brow furrowed, her warrior instincts kicking in. "We must move quickly," she warned. "Something is amiss." Alex gripped the hilt of her sword, determination etched on her face. "Then let's show them what we're made of," she retorted, and together they leaped from the wall and into the unknown. As they navigated the labyrinthine streets, they encountered creatures of myth and legend: a Minotaur barred their way, guarding an ancient temple; a griffin soared overhead, its majestic form casting shadows on the cobblestones below. But Alex and Imani were undeterred, their shared heritage giving them the strength to face any challenge that lay ahead. And so, they pressed onward, guided by the whispers of their ancestors, as they sought Elyndra's sanctuary and the answers that lay within its walls. The sun had barely risen when Alex and Imani set off towards the sanctuary, their spirits high after deciphering the ancient text. "I never knew there were so many myths out there," Alex marveled. "But we must be prepared for anything," Imani replied, her voice steady as steel. As they journeyed deeper into the forest, the air grew thick with anticipation. They stumbled upon a clearing where a monstrous creature from Greek mythology stood, the Minotaur. "We must tread carefully," Imani warned, and together, they outwitted the beast and continued their quest. Night fell swiftly, and as they approached a dark cave, a fearsome Chimera materialized before them. With cunning and teamwork, Alex and Imani managed to subdue the fire-breathing creature, leaving it to slumber in its own smoke. As they ventured onward, the landscape transformed into a realm reminiscent of Celtic lore. The pair encountered a trickster figure, Loki, who offered them a choice: take a shortcut that would lead them directly to Elyndra's sanctuary or embark on a longer journey filled with challenges and wisdom. They chose the latter, knowing that their shared heritage could only be strengthened through adversity. With renewed determination, Alex and Imani faced each challenge head-on, growing closer with every victory. They finally reached Elyndra's sanctuary on the twelfth night, standing confident in their abilities and shared lineage at the crossroads of destiny. As Alex stepped into the mystical forest, they felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. Imani, the fierce Norse warrior, stood tall and confident beside them, her axe gleaming in the moonlight. "You know, this is quite surreal," Alex said, their eyes wide with wonder. "Aye, it is," Imani replied, her voice as strong and steady as a nor'westerly gale. "But we must focus on our mission. We need to find Elyndra's hidden sanctuary." Together, they followed the cryptic message from the ancient text, their determination unwavering. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the ancient ruins, Alex stood in awe of the mysterious world that lay before them. "Imani," they whispered, "what are these... symbols?" The runes etched into the stone seemed to tell a story, a tale of legend and lore that spanned across time and space. Imani, her eyes alight with curiosity, approached and traced her fingers over the intricate carvings. "They are from many different mythologies," she murmured, her voice filled with wonder. "Look, here is a Greek centaur, and there's an Egyptian scarab beetle! And what's this?" She pointed to a series of lines that formed a cryptic message: "To find the sanctuary, follow the path of the moon." Alex furrowed their brow, "But where does the path begin?" Imani glanced at the sky and then back to Alex with a determined expression. "The first night after the full moon," she declared, "We must begin our journey at dusk, following the light of the moon until we reach Elyndra's sanctuary." "Young ones," he began, "I can see the pull you feel towards the forest, but I must warn you of the dangers that lie ahead. To find your way through, you must solve the riddle that has protected these woods for centuries." Alex and Imani exchanged glances, their determination unwavering. The old man spoke the riddle: "In the beginning, there was light and darkness, and they danced in harmony. When they separated, a child of both was born, carrying within them the essence of both worlds. Who am I?" The pair pondered the riddle, their minds racing with possibilities. As the sun began to set, a faint glow appeared at the edge of the forest, casting shadows that danced and flickered like flames. Alex, suddenly struck with inspiration, exclaimed, "We are children of light and darkness! We are fire!" The old man's eyes twinkled as he nodded in approval. "Well done," he said, his voice filled with pride. "Now, enter the chamber beyond and recite verses from your ancestors to summon the bridge that will guide you." As Alex and Imani stepped into the chamber, they felt a surge of energy, an otherworldly glow illuminating their path. They spoke the ancient words, and the air shimmered as the magical bridge appeared before them. With hearts pounding, they crossed the bridge and found themselves face-to-face with Hyrrokkin, the Norse guardian of Elyndra's sanctuary. "You have proven your worth," Hyrrokkin said, her voice echoing through the chamber. "I shall allow you to enter Elyndra's sanctuary and uncover the secrets of your shared heritage." With Hyrrokkin's blessing, they crossed the final bridge and were welcomed by Elyndra herself. In her sanctuary, they discovered their roots and found the belonging and purpose they had sought for so long. Alex cleared his throat and began, "We come from distant lands, seeking answers about our shared heritage. We've journeyed through treacherous terrain and solved ancient riddles to reach this place." Imani added softly, "And we've done it all for the love of our people and their history." Hyrrokkin's voice was deep and resonant as she spoke, "I understand your dedication. However, I must test your worthiness before granting you access to Elyndra's sanctuary." ``` In the ancient city of Mythos, Alex and Imani were drawn to the enchanted forest by an inexplicable pull. They could sense that something important awaited them there. As they ventured deeper into the woods, they stumbled upon an old man sitting on a stone bench. "Young ones," he called out, "the forest is not for the faint-hearted. Many have entered, but few have returned." The old man paused, his eyes twinkling with wisdom. "There is a way to proceed, but you must solve this riddle first." Alex and Imani exchanged glances, resolved to face whatever lay ahead. The riddle was simple yet cryptic: "The more you take, the more you leave behind. What am I?" After a moment of contemplation, they shouted in unison, "Footsteps!" A warm smile graced the old man's face. "Well done! You may now enter the chamber. Recite verses from your ancestors to unlock its secrets." Inside the chamber, they whispered verses passed down through generations, and the walls came alive with swirling colors and ancient symbols. At the center of the room stood Hyrrokkin, a Norse guardian protecting Elyndra's sanctuary. Her eyes pierced their souls, testing their worthiness. "You have proven yourselves," she declared, her voice like thunder. "Cross this magical bridge and enter Elyndra's sanctuary." Alex and Imani crossed the bridge, stepping into a world of secrets and hidden history. They felt a deep connection to their shared heritage, and a sense of belonging washed over them. As they stood in the heart of Elyndra's sanctuary, Hyrrokkin appeared once more. "You have shown great dedication to your people and history," she said, her voice softer now. "Prove your worthiness by answering my question: Why do you seek the truth hidden within these walls?" In the ancient city of Mythos, Alex and Imani stood before the enchanted forest, feeling a mysterious pull that drew them deeper into its heart. As they ventured further in, they came across an elderly man sitting by a fire, his eyes twinkling with wisdom. "Greetings, young ones," he said, smiling. "I am Eirik, the guardian of this forest. To pass through and uncover the secrets within, you must solve a riddle." Alex and Imani exchanged glances, then turned to Eirik. "We'll do our best," they promised. The old man nodded, presenting them with his riddle: "I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released; and yet, I am used by almost every person. What am I?" Alex and Imani thought hard, their eyes sparkling with determination. After several moments, they spoke in unison, "Pencil!" Eirik's face lit up, and he smiled warmly at them. "Well done! Now, recite a verse from your ancestors to enter the chamber." They chanted an ancient prayer, and the earth shifted beneath their feet, revealing a hidden entrance. Inside, they found themselves in a room adorned with symbols of their shared heritage. As they prepared to cross the magical bridge into Elyndra's sanctuary, Hyrrokkin, the Norse guardian, appeared before them. "You have shown great courage in solving the riddle and reciting your ancestors' verses," she said, her voice echoing through the chamber. "But I must test your worthiness before granting you access to the sanctuary." Alex and Imani looked at each other, then back at Hyrrokkin. They were ready for this challenge, and as they spoke their words of dedication to their people and history, the guardian nodded in approval. With a wave of her hand, she parted the magical bridge, and they stepped onto hallowed ground. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the ancient city of Mythos. Alex and Imani stood at the edge of the enchanted forest, feeling an inexplicable pull towards its depths. They exchanged glances, both knowing that they needed to follow this mysterious force. As they ventured deeper into the forest, they encountered Eirik, the guardian of the trees. He presented them with a riddle: "What has roots as deep as the sea and branches that reach as far as the sky?" Puzzled, Alex and Imani pondered for a moment before responding in unison, "A tree!" Eirik smiled, impressed by their quick thinking. He then instructed them to recite verses from their ancestors to unlock the chamber hidden within the forest. As they spoke the words, an ancient door creaked open, revealing a magical chamber. Inside, they met Hyrrokkin, a Norse guardian protecting Elyndra's sanctuary. She tested them with riddles and challenges, assessing their knowledge of history and heritage. With each question answered correctly, the chamber walls shifted, unveiling a magical bridge leading to the heart of the sanctuary. Crossing the bridge, Alex and Imani found themselves in a place where secrets of their shared heritage lay hidden. They felt a sense of belonging and purpose, strengthened by their shared dedication to their people and history. With Hyrrokkin's blessing, they entered Elyndra's sanctuary, ready to uncover the mysteries that awaited them. Alex and Imani, intrigued by Eirik's riddle, exchanged glances, confident in their shared knowledge. "This is an ancient Norse riddle," Alex whispered to Imani, recalling tales of their ancestors. "We can solve it together." Imani nodded, and they both focused on the riddle, Eirik watching them intently. With a sudden realization, Alex exclaimed, "The answer is 'Elyndra'!" The forest guardian's eyes widened in surprise. As they recited the verses from their ancestors, a door creaked open and revealed Hyrrokkin. Her stern gaze assessed Alex and Imani before she spoke, her voice echoing through the chamber. "You have shown wisdom and courage," she declared, her tone softening. "You may proceed." Crossing the magical bridge into Elyndra's sanctuary, Alex and Imani marveled at the beauty around them. They discovered ancient artifacts and scrolls that revealed their shared heritage, a bond they had never imagined. Hyrrokkin appeared once more, her expression warm and approving. "You have proven your worthiness," she announced. "The sanctuary is now in your care. Guard it well." With those words, the guardian vanished, leaving Alex and Imani to explore their newfound home and cherish the purpose they had been given. Alex and Imani stood before the ancient door, their hearts pounding with anticipation. The door creaked open, revealing a dimly lit hallway. "Eirik told us we had to solve this riddle to proceed," Alex whispered nervously. Imani nodded, her eyes scanning the room. "Alright, let's see what we can find." They began to explore the chamber, searching for clues. As they delved deeper into the sanctuary, they discovered verses etched on the walls. "These verses seem familiar," Imani murmured, running her fingers over the ancient text. "Our ancestors spoke of these verses in their stories," Alex whispered back. "Perhaps we can use them to solve Eirik's riddle." They recited the verses together, and the room began to glow. Suddenly, a hidden door slid open, revealing a figure shrouded in darkness. "You have proven worthy," the figure said, its voice echoing through the chamber. "I am Hyrrokkin, guardian of this sanctuary. You may enter, but beware, for within lies power and knowledge that must be used wisely." With a final warning, Hyrrokkin vanished, leaving Alex and Imani alone in the dimly lit hallway. As they ventured deeper into the sanctuary, they discovered their shared heritage and a sense of belonging. With newfound purpose, they took on the responsibility of guarding the sanctuary, vowing to protect it and use its power wisely for the good of all. In the enchanted forest, Alex and Imani stood in awe of their surroundings as they listened intently to Eirik's riddle. "What has roots as nobody sees, is taller than trees, upreaching but cannot grow?" Eirik's voice echoed through the forest, challenging the duo. As they ventured deeper into the woods, they stumbled upon Eirik, the guardian of the forest. His eyes sparkled with wisdom and mystery. "What brings you here?" Eirik asked, his voice filled with curiosity. "We felt a strange pull, something calling us to this place," Alex replied. Eirik smiled, "Ah, the magic of the forest is strong today. But to enter, you must answer my riddle." He paused for dramatic effect. The siblings exchanged glances before Imani spoke up, "We'll do our best!" "What has roots as nobody sees, is taller than trees, upreaching but cannot grow?" Eirik recited the ancient riddle. Alex and Imani thought hard, their eyes locked onto each other, then Imani exclaimed, "A tree!" Eirik's eyes widened in surprise, "Correct! You may enter." He stepped aside to reveal a hidden chamber. Inside the chamber, Alex and Imani met Hyrrokkin, a tall and imposing Norse guardian protecting Elyndra's sanctuary. She studied them carefully before speaking. "You have passed Eirik's test, but I must see if you are worthy." With that, she presented them with a challenge. After overcoming the trials set by Hyrrokkin, they entered the sanctuary. The air was thick with magic and the scent of ancient secrets. Inside, they discovered their shared heritage and found a sense of belonging and purpose. Now in charge of the sanctuary, Alex and Imani vowed to guard it well, ensuring its magic would be preserved for future generations. Eirik: "I am taken from a mine, and shut up in a wooden case, from which I am never released, and yet I am used by almost every person. What am I?" Alex: "Is it paper?" Imani: "No, that's not right." Eirik nodded, intrigued by their determination. "Correct. You are indeed close, but the answer is more specific. Think of something that is extracted from the earth and used by many." Alex: "Er... a pencil?" Eirik smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Very good! A pencil, although made of wood, has its lead derived from a mine. You've shown your wit and quick thinking. The chamber awaits." Inside the chamber, they met Hyrrokkin, a fierce Norse guardian protecting Elyndra's sanctuary. She tested their worthiness with a series of challenges that required teamwork, courage, and creativity. With each challenge completed, Alex and Imani uncovered more about their shared heritage and found a sense of belonging they had never experienced before. Hyrrokkin: "You have shown great bravery and determination. You are worthy to enter the sanctuary." As they explored the sanctuary, Alex and Imani discovered ancient artifacts and stories that connected them to their past. They realized they were destined to protect this sacred place and carry on its legacy for future generations. With newfound purpose, they took charge of the sanctuary, vowing to safeguard it and share its wisdom with those who sought it.

Dade City Historical Walking Tour Opens: Official Launch to be November 9 at Pioneer Florida Museum
Story by Madonna Jervis Wise In April of 2022, Margaret Angell, President of the Dade City Merchant’s Association, and Mary Katherine Mason Alston, a Veteran of the Marines (who owns Lanky Lassies Shortbread in Dade City), solicited historian/author, Madonna Wise to coordinate the research of historical Dade City from the view of a historical walking and QR tour. Historian Madonna, a retired school administrator and former history teacher, has written thirteen local history books, two of which focus heavily on Dade City where she worked with the preservation board and served for several years as the President of the Pasco Historical Association. Mary Katherine was impressed with the self-guided historical tours of Savannah and St. Augustine (to name a few) and was inspired by Dennis and Nancy Alfonso, her neighbors who enjoyed weekend excursions throughout historical Florida towns to learn about the history. The Alfonsos often exclaimed, why doesn’t Dade City have a walking tour? Soon the team recruited Melody Floyd of the Greater Dade City Chamber, Stephanie Bracknell Black, Executive Director of the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village, Imani Asukile, the founder of the East Pasco African American Historical Society, and Eric Baker who was then working on a newspaper prototype, The Dade City Wire. The research was on warp speed. Stephanie convinced Wayne Sweat, a historian and re-enactor with a melodious voice reminiscent of Ken Burn’s Academy Award-winning Peter Coyote to do the extensive narration recording. In addition, retired Judge Lynn Tepper joined in to assist with consultation and editing. Madonna and Lynn had a history of projects throughout the years such as the Multiagency Council and Truancy Arbitration, so the opportunity to work together again was synergistic. In addition, Judge Tepper consulted on an array of locations where she had worked. About ten months into the development, Madonna realized the tour was not going to come to fruition without the assistance of a technology guru. With some help from the neighboring community, she convinced Britton Janning to formulate an easy-to-use and appealing look. You can see the masterpiece which continues to unfold at https://dadecityhistory.org/ 1 Our team of developers of the Dade City Historical Tour includes row one Margaret Angell, Madonna Wise, and Wayne Sweat; row 2 Melody Floyd and Stephanie Black; row 3 Britt Janning and Imani Asukil. It Took a Village of Local Historians to Document this Historical Tour of Dade City Many community members, merchant owners, and historians assisted with the project. Madonna sadly regrets that during the development of the project, the community lost Sylvia Young, Jeff Miller, Stanley Burnside, and Dennis Alfonso. Anybody reviewing the tour, however, will see these historians and others referenced as they provided consultation. (For example, a tape of Sylvia discussing the 1909 courthouse renovation she was responsible for on Stop 1; Stanley shares the silent movie theaters in Dade City in Stop 44, and Jeff Miller of fivay.org, consulted with Madonna on much of the tour before his passing.) Some of the board members of the Pioneer Museum such as Clyde Hobby consulted while historian Bill Dayton provided endearing anecdotes that reveal the authenticity and charm of Dade City. The Dade City police chief James Walters, also a history buff, developed and recorded a safety message for walking through town, and narrated the history of the Dade City Marshals who evolved to ‘Chiefs’ in stop, #79. Walters brought in Bob Cabot to work on the fire Department history and SRO Peter Emerson who had collected law enforcement history over time. Stop 79 Dade city police Department shows Marshal Bartow Daniel Sturkie who also served as Pasco Sheriff. Image courtesy of Madonna Jervis Wise. In addition, the team wanted to make the tour a learning tool. Judge Tepper suggested the team consult with Dan Mitchell of Smart Start so that the tour might be used by up-and-coming entrepreneurs. There were examples of leadership and perseverance and so much more. The team met with Mitchell and shared some of the examples of teamwork and the qualities of leadership seen in the history of this frontier county-seat town. Here are a few of the stories that the team shared and a glimpse at a few stops. Education is Incorporated into the Dade City Historical Walking Tour Stop 1: 1909 Pasco County Courthouse: At the foundation of the tour in stop one, you will hear about Henry Coleman and William Ferguson who utilized timing and opportunity to grow their businesses. They were not afraid to relocate and rebuild. They looked strategically at the location of their mercantile and they anticipated change. See how they influenced the placement of the Seaboard Coastline Depot to bring merchants downtown. Then you will see how they worked to influence the establishment of the county seat by offering a space for the courthouse. TIMING, LOCATION, and ASSESSING SITUATION Stop 8: Ford Garage: In 1914, M.C. Autry of Georgia rented the building on the corner of Pasco and Cherry Streets which was converted into an auto display shop. He expanded to operate Ford garages in Brooksville, Tarpon Springs, and Kissimmee. Examples of his innovative advertising which appeared in the weekly newspaper, the Dade City Banner, offer a glimpse into his PRESENTATION SKILLS. A later occupant of the garage space, Gail Greenfelder, and her husband, Glen, used INNOVATION to convert the garage into a 150-seat restaurant with two banquet rooms. Using her culinary training she conceptualized a gourmet restaurant and honed SERVICE EXTRAORDINAIRE Stop 10: Pasco Packing of Dade City was the world’s largest private-label frozen citrus concentrate firm for many decades. In this overview, look at the ADAPTABILITY as the citrus operation went from fresh to frozen concentrate which the Dade City packing plant largely perfected to canned and eventually even to dispensers in restaurants. Note they even used the byproducts for livestock feeds and fertilizer. See how they faced the adversity of the Great Depression to lead the field for over fifty years. Pasco Packing of Dade City was the world’s largest private-label frozen citrus concentrate firm for many decades. Stop 15: Bank of Pasco: PERSEVERANCE is the name of the game for the Bank of Pasco, the third ban chartered in the state in 1889. Surviving an attempted robbery in 1904, when safe blowers dynamited the large iron doors leading to the bank vault, it acquired the name of Old Reliable.” The Bank of Pasco was one of very few that weathered the Stock Market Crash of 1929. It closed for only ten days, and reopened with the unadulterated joy and relief of citizens. It overwhelmingly beat the odds by surviving the 1926 Real Estate Boom as well and then withstood the 1929 Stock Market Crash, as the only bank in Pasco County to survive! Stop 22: Dade City Hardware and Case Hardware on 7th Street in Dade City were competitors and supportive of each other for several decades largely due to the PROFESSIONALISM AND COMRADERY of Robert “Mel” Case and John Newsome. Dade City Hardware. Stop 45: The Dade City Coca-Cola Bottling Company was integral to Dade City for over fifty years. Today the space is occupied by Olga’s Bakery, L.G. Edward’s Insurance, and more. George Gilbert as manager of the coke bottling plant was involved with the schools and civic groups, offering tours and donations. His weekly Coke advertisements championed the causes of the day: patriotism, family commitments, and COMMUNITY. George even installed a lookout tower on top of the Coke building so volunteer corps could be on the lookout for stray aircraft in the early years of World War II as his CIVIC INVOLVEMENT helped to build his store. The tour is available now and can be viewed by phone, computer, or a walk. The team suggests chunking out a few locations at a time. The official launch of the tour will be on November 9th at 6 p.m. at the Lockey Room of the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village. Respectfully, the tour is dedicated to Dennis and Nancy Alfonso and Judge Lynn Tepper.
