hi lysha, this might be a random question but i was reading i could dream all night (again

hiii honey!! firstly thank u sm!! secondly, good question. i think its hard to say whether i find it ‘easier’ to write as either harry or louis, just based on the context of what their character is like/what surrounds them in the fic!! for example, in most cases i feel connected to harry the most because i think we’re most alike, so when he’s the POV character, i guess i can sometimes find things coming to me a little easier - but having said that, that also doesn’t mean writing as harry comes without challenges!! shelter as we go took me nearly a year to write, and that fic was with harry as the pov character and simply just challenging because of how emotionally/character driven that fic is. in another case, louis in HITA was one of those characters that i always felt just flowed out of me, same with harry in that fic as the companion character. my personal preference is to write as harry when i’m writing larry fics, and to write as zayn when i’m writing zarry, just because most times the plot/context of the fic is something i want to explore or show through a perspective that i think i can harness best through them. 

i think u kinda nailed it on the head tho, its hard to compare them!! i do always try and create conflict in the story through their character differences as well as the plot, which is why i love twisting their personalities so much. at the end of the day i think it really just comes down to the immediate feeling and portrayal of ideas i want in the fic. most times when i’m coming up with a fic idea, the POV character comes to me straight away, no questions asked. HITA was always from louis’ POV. i could dream all night could only work with purely harry’s POV for it to feel the way i wanted it to feel. dissolve felt immediately right with zayns POV. its hard to explain, but i think when writing there’s just this way you kind of know who needs to be the one telling the story. long story short, i personally love to write as harry the most, but i like to drift out of that space here and there when it feels right! 💓
