don't get me wrong, we should all have intergenerational relations. there's great things to be gained by talking to younger and older ppl. but sometimes they will absolutely tell you something wildly insensitive and you'll look at them and see that they're genuinely trying to connect with you and understand your situation. but they did also just imply that they would prefer you to remain unseen forever.
