It's more about how you wanna be perceived rather than not being perceived at all.

And no, you don't need to have some type of obsession with the person to want that. What you want instead is probably be your best self, act "cool", look not like your every day self etc. You'd want to be desirable. That's like acting around your crush basically.

I think you all just might be too anxious or self-conscious. You might think you're not interesting or beautiful enough to immediately capture someone's attention. That's the sad truth, most people can't (and that doesn't mean they're boring), but it's normal to want that. How you manage those feelings is entirely in your own hands though.
